Unwelcoming check in
Check in lady was very cold, unwelcoming and clearly gave me a room that was least desirable next to a lift at the entry to the floor. Other than that, room was good and location is great. I’d stay again. Just don’t expect a welcoming reception
Minimal amenities
My room was reasonably priced - but you get what you pay for. Be sure you read the information/description provided online so you’re not surprised. The only furniture in my (small) room was a single bed - no TV, no chair, no end table, no other furniture of any kind. The only amenities provided were shampoo, body wash, and hand soap. There were also no windows in any of the rooms. However, the facility was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was helpful/pleasant. Plus, the hotel was conveniently located to various West End theaters as well as the Underground. I probably would choose not to stay there again.
This was a good place to crash for a night between close work shifts, the only issue I had was the sheer amount of air freshener that was pumped into the room with no option to stop it or ventilate the room (air con didn’t seem to do much, if anything). Felt ill with annoyed sinuses when I left in the morning. I’d stay again if that changes. If strong smells don’t bother you it’s a perfectly good hotel.
Every time I asked for something it was a “sorry we don’t have” no glasses, no ice, no place to safe my luggage etc. not very happy with options at the hotel.
Fantastic pllace to stay and a great concept for a hotel. Would stay again without hesitation
Overall, it was a good location hotel but it didn’t have essential items such as a coffee table and a closet
Bed bugs!!!!!!! Stay away from this property. Room was the size of a shoe box, room didn’t get cleaned or beds made and woke up to BED BUGS BITING
Close to train station and Chinatown excellent location
They charge for everything
Great location, but no windows, no free bag storage, no tvs, no complimentary gym, no early checkin without hefty payment. Bathrooms have see thru glass so not good for families or friends sharing.
Very very very overpriced. For the same money you could stay in a very nice hotel. Staff were pleasant but that is where it ends. Prison cell vibes please stay away unless you like that sort of thing
Good services
Excellent
Excellent, minimalist type hotel. Nothing fancy, but modern style and clean.. has just the bare minimum you’d need. Smack in the middle of prime location and perfect for ppl wanting to be out all day and just come in to sleep. You’ll want to bring earplugs when you’re in any prime location just in case ppl are talking on the way to their room etc.
When I booked 3 rooms for 10 days I knew there were few amenities. For example, there are no windows anywhere in the facility, there are no televisions or radios either in rooms or in hotel, there is a very limited snack bar. There is a lower level area with tables where guests seemed to gather either to work or chat. Even in the lobby there is very limited seating. However, totally unacceptable was the housekeeping. In the 10 days I was given a towel and one very small roll of toilket tissue (no kleenex) on 3 occasions. It was necessary to go to the FRONT desk and ask for either towels or toilet tissue.Since there was only a sheet and duvet, my sheet was gone so I slept on the nasty mattress pad for 10 days. I left dirty towels in the hall once I was tired of them laying on the floor of my room. I complained to the desk 4 times over the course of the 10 days and finally on the last day I found a manager wandering the hall and he apologized and took pictures of my room. In 10 days the floor needed a cleaning and I wouild have done it myself if I had equipment. Another mnanager offered to move us to another hotel, TOO LATE. I told them my review would be scathing. And, no chairs, even a folding chair so we were forced to sit on the bed and I used my luggage as a table of sorts. Granted, it was not as expensive as some and very close to theaters which we wanted but I suggest you stay away!!!!!
Terrible
Great property, but… Our three person room had nowhere to put things. The bathroom had super limited shelf space. The walkway next to the two beds was completely filled/blocked with our (unopened) luggage. No tables, no countertops. Light in the room was pretty dim - hard to read anything, and the light switches were a bit funky. Charge 15 pounds to store each piece of luggage. Liked the cafe downstairs. Overall would stay again, solid but far from perfect.
Perfect for a first time stay in Piccadilly.
The hotel steal money from credit card 😡
Be careful this hotel, they requested us a credit card at the check inn, they charged me a deposit of £297 but they didn’t return after the checkout, I send messages, emails and trying to receive a response and they didn’t respond anything. Be careful if you don’t want to lose money
Modern clean minimalist rooms, great shower. Clean and comfy stay. Friendly staff and good facilities. Perfect location for the city and for the price.
Adaquate for my needs
It was ok for me after meeting friends and away early next morning. It's just a room. No extras such as tea, coffee or a TV and no window. I went for the price.
Hotel was lovely, beds comfortable and the rooms were quiet and cosy. Around the corner from many theatres, bars and restaurants. However, everything was chargeable such as hairdryers and dropping your bags off. Other than that we had a wonderful stay.
Ok for short stay
Excellent location, easy check in, room bare, no tv, wardrobe, clean, stayed for 3 nights.
This was easily the most unique hotel I’ve ever been to but it was perfect for what I needed at the time (a quiet place to sleep during my adventures).
Convenient location but not a good stay
Air vents filled with dust, dust all over walls, fire alarm went off both days whilst using the shower because of steam, room was not serviced at all during my stay. Charges for everything (earlier check in, luggage storage etc)
The hotel is perfectly situated and a very easy check in. When I’ve stayed with zedwell before in another location in London tea and coffee were divided at reception here you have to pay in the cafe though I think the cafe prices need to be looked at with crisps being £3.50 a pack! I’m looking to book here again the rooms are nice and big and the location you can’t beat. 30 seconds from the tube station, Piccadilly literally around the corner, all the theatres, shopping and soho right on your doorstop
Very clean and an excellent price
I had the worst night's sleep ever in this hotel after trying to sleep on an uncomfortable mattress that was virtually on the floor. One pathetic flat pillow each for my wife and I. There was nowhere to put my clothes, nowhere to sit, not one chair, the USB connector on the plug point had clearly been damaged some time ago and never been fixed and not even a paper cup to get a drink with. I had to make a 5-10 minute journey to reception & pay £4.00 for a 500ml bottle of water. All for £170. I will never ever stay in one of these hotels again. And I am someone who very rarely makes a complaint but frequently praises good service and facilities. Robert Hayes
Rooms were smaller than advertised lmao
Alright hotel, no frills.
Excellent location and bigger than expected room. HOWEVER there are zero amenities. No hairdryer, tv, kettle - not even cups in the room to have a glass of water. They charge £5 for a bottle of water or juice in the vending machines downstairs. I dropped my luggage off when I checked out to then be told it was £15! Not a bad hotel for the price but may be worth paying a little extra to not have to pay for things that should be free.
Nice location for visiting London
Wrong rooms
I booked one room double occupancy they said that my room was not available and the manager offered me two separate room the next day they give us the room that we pay for I received no refund for the mistake or apology
Great nights stay just what we needed a stress free place tokay our heads room was relaxing clean and comfortable will be back
Place is clean and quiet, no one bothers you. Space is meant for you to sleep and shower, not meant to live in.
This hotel is clean, but the room size is small.
Great hotel, will return
We had a brilliant stay here, on arrival were upgraded to a better room which was excellent! The location is great, opposite the Hard Rock Cafe. Staff were welcoming and friendly, the hotel was new and clean.
Booked a twin room, self check-in allocated one with a double (no options, no details of room allocated) cue a trip back to reception for this to be changed by a very helpful member of staff. The room was quiet, temperature fine, we slept ok. The room is incredibly basic. 3 items of furniture (2x bed, 1x luggage stand), 2 coat hooks. That’s it. No bedside table, no headboard (plug sockets here your head goes), no wardrobe, no where to put any devices other than on the floor. 1 pillow each. The bathroom was spacious, largely clean (did find a silverfish calling it home), but was really cold and had nowhere at all to put towels, toilet bag, clothes, etc. there were no hooks or shelves whatsoever. Shower curtain was a bit yellow at the bottom. Shower pressure was rubbish. In terms of ambience, there isn’t any. Walking to the room along dimly lit grey corridors with no natural light feels quite dystopian. Given the lack of windows, any form of natural light, and the good sound insulation, the room feels like something in between a sensory deprivation chamber, a bunker and a prison cell. The room is not somewhere to spend time or “hang out”. The location was very handy, the price was less than other options. It wasn’t a terrible experience but wasn’t what we expected. Had we realised when booking that there would be a £15 charge for bag drop before check-in and again after check-out, we’d have been looking at other hotels for an extra £30.
Nice modern property in the heart of everything
No air
Mattress but nothing else
Unbelievably basic room. Not much more than a mattress on a wooden floor. No TV or even a window.
Good value
Easy check in and out. Room as described, shower good and location great.
X'mas in London
It's very nice and convenient location. Secured and staffs are helpful. Worth the stay regarding to the price during X'mas. Just need to bring your own hair dryer. Will come back and recommend this hotel.
I lost my stuff when I stayed in this hotel. I think the main issue is the communication between the staff.
WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. No furniture, no hair dryer, no storage, minimal towels, staff doesn't seem to care at all. I had to rent a hair dryer for 10 pounds, and it didn't fit their own plugs so I had to buy an adapter for another 10 pounds - crappy quality hair dryer as well. I understand minimalist and am ok with no TV but no furniture/shelves or closet at all - only 4 hooks on the wall with held our coats. Floors were not the cleanest either and had to set all our belongs there.
Property has a great location in Piccadilly and the staff is helpful. However, prepare appropriately for a room with no windows, no tables, no lamps. Just a couple twin beds in a tile box with an overhead light. If you’re passing through for a couple hours, fine. A longer stay starts to make you feel a little like being trapped in an asylum. Definitely paying for the location and not the amenities. Also note, it’s ten quid for the gym and fifteen to store a bag so the prices keep rising as well.
Terrible room. Not even a table or chair
The hotel itself worth 4 stars. I've given two stars because Expedia advertises a 8 people (4beds) room as a family room with window. Most rooms of this hotel don't have windows at all. It's actually a great feature if you want a place to rest in the day and enjoy London at night..Only there are a lot of noise from the hallway whenever anyone walks by. There's no parking in front of the hotel. If arriving by taxi or uber, talk to your driver and consider stopping across the street. Nevertheless, great location.
No tv in room. No furniture? Very strange…
It’s a good hotel to stay in: what was not cool Was that the walls was dusty and when I asked for the cleaning staff, just like air duct dirt. I asked for a towel to clean it up, fhe staff said that she would get a manager to come see it and nothing happened. I jus used toilet roll to clean the wall myself
Just for an hour late checkout, the fined 50 fukn quid. Could have given us some kind of reminder atleast.
I have been back 3 times now. For the price and facilities you get in this location you can’t beat it. It is a very trendy place and easy to use. Extremely quiet compared to any other hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Rooms must be lead lined and padded or something. One thing that gets to you after a while is lack of windows. Nice at first as I sleep better but my body clock gets screwed up and I found myself checking my watch every few hours to see what time it was. Not a major problem but I found it started to get worse as fine went on. Hotel is fun and you can leave your bag there if you arrive too early for 15 pounds which seemed steep but there was a lot of people doing that and they had a team of staff working that side of things.
Double charged me and customer service won’t even respond to me. Avoid at all costs.
It’s good for a quick stay, but I personally did not like the area. While it was close in proximity, there was just too much foot traffic.
Amazing location! Definitely minimalist—no drawers or closet. So plan to live out of your suitcase—which was fine for us and we are a family of five. You cannot beat the location. And the staff were great.
The room was no frills which is what we expected. There was no hand towel in the bathroom though, or hair towels. Just 2 bath towels and a bath mat. What I disliked though was the call at 5pm i.e. 2 hrs after the earliest check in time trying to get us to go to their sister hotel down the road. When pressed they had no good reason for punting us down the road. The call was so dodgy it felt like a scam. Don’t do it!
The room lacks a lot of common amenities you would expect to see. Poor value for money
Like that it was close to stores, Didn't like that there was no parking and had to pay 60pounds per day for parking, and the noise from the club till 3 am was very difficult firm kids to sleep.if the booking was refundable probably would of booked somewhere else.
Location!
So central, easy check in and out. Comfortable room. Great shower and amenities
👍
Great location, love the soundproofing of the room but room with no windows so not for claustrophobic people. Got really annoyed by the $20/item baggage storage fee and the early checking fee… the bathroom could use an extra shelf, there was nowhere to put toiletries down and the cleaning could be more thorough.
Good setting and accessibility to great parts of London
Felt claustrophobic
Location was the only thing going for this Hotel. Very basic, modern and not very homely. We were only staying for two nights so it was ok. But there was no where to hang clothes, no where to put makeup on apart from the toilet mirror. Felt very claustrophobic as we had no window. And our maid service was fresh towels thrown on the unmade bed with a new toilet roll. Then to top it all they try to charge me twice Certainly would not recommend
ideal
clean, great location, helpful staff
Quiet room in a central location
Absolutely amazing hotel, clean all The way through! Rooms are modern and have everything you need for a comfortable stay, great central location
Brilliant
It was good!
We stayed at the Zedwell Piccadilly for a few nights in June of 2024. It is in an amazing location, and it is very convenient to go from Heathrow Airport to the hotel by taking the Piccadilly line at the airport. Once you get off it is not even a 5 minute walk to the hotel. Hotel is modern, clean and within walking distance to many places. One downside is that there is no refrigerator in the rooms, or at least the room we stayed at. Room was small but functional. It is an ideal stay for a few nights if you want to be able to walk and take public transportation to get around. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again in the future, but would limit my stay to less than 1 week. I would recommend this hotel if you value convenience and a central location.
Vaishali saraiya was extremely helpful! She went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable
Friendly staff
Greeted at reception and helped to check in by friendly staff. They helped with check in and sorted room card. Room exactly as described in booking and just right for somewhere to sleep after touring around London. Very comfortable bed and room was very clean.
Perfect if…
Perfect if you don’t like furniture! Me and my sister met in London to see a show and wanted to stay close. The location of this hotel is perfect. Checking in would have been really easy if I could find my email, however the staff were really helpful and even upgraded us unnecessarily. The room was quiet, the beds were fine and everything was very clean. Which is good because there was no other furniture. Plenty of space for a table and/or chair. Even a side table. But nothing. The potions of the bed ment that one of us has to sit on the floor if we wanted to talk to each other and has to keep out things on the floor. We ended up using extra bedding to make a seat on the floor. I get that you are city centre and maybe you are just going to be out and about but not even a place to put a case is daft. All that said, if the price is right I’d probably stay again, just now I know not to expect only to sleep and nothing more
Very disappointing
The only good thing is the location. The price wasn't that cheap either. Cons- 1. The hotel is too big and there are too many people, noticeable in the lobby, in lines to store things and more 2. It took me 2 minutes after I got out of the elevator on my floor and I still had to climb and descend 26 stairs!!! There was no other way to get to the room. 3. I had 6 nights and asked after the 3rd night for them to come clean and they said they would only come after 4 nights!! Why? And why isn't it written? 4. Further to the cleaning - on the last day when I checked that I hadn't forgotten anything, I discovered that there were 2 small ketchup bags under the mattress! Ugh. 5. Even though you pay quite a bit. And even though the check-out is really early at 10 am. They charge 15 pounds per suitcase for storage. This is outrageous. 6. The gym that they claim to have is of course an additional fee. 7. The room is small but not too small, you can manage - the problem is that the bathroom and the room itself are separated by a sliding door and not like in regular hotels where it is a separate room. And so all day there are unpleasant smells or there is steam from the shower. There is no vent in the bathroom that describes the air. (There is air conditioning but it is very weak and does not exactly filter the air). And all this in view of the fact that it is a small room without a window. 8. There were 3 mornings that I woke up after the night itching and with bites! I don't know wht
Excellent location. Clean and qyiet
Cocoon 2 Review
We stayed in a cocoon 2 room and it was amazing, clean, clever design, absolutely loved it.
The properly is very well located and has all the facilities for a comfortable stay. There is one thing I did not like here is there is a disco in this hotel and my room was right below it resulting in a lot of noise where I could not sleep properly. Maybe I should have changed the room but everyday I would come back late and just want to sleep. So ask for a different floor other than 2.
Did not reply to many messages for early check in. Tried calling but not answer on 3 occasions. Wanted £15 for each piece of left luggage as room was not available for early check in. .
Excellent location
this place is such a fab location, right in the heart of london i found i spent less time walking and travelling and more time to enjoy the theatre and restaurants. the hotel is efficient, quiet and so clean, its a like walking into the future. My room was comfortable and the beds and bathroom were clean and sufficient On thing tho, i was on floor 3 and at must have been next to or above a night club, banging base music was going until around 1am, I didnt know who to contact but fell asleep and am not really sure what time it finishes. for those people with young children it may have been a problem
Great hotel - Perfect for a short getaway
Had a wonderful stay at the Zedwell. The location is perfect. Just a minutes walk from The Piccadilly tube Station and so centrally located in the west end! The rooms are basic but comfortable. Stayed with a friend and there were plenty of charging outlets. The service was amazing. Had a place to store my luggage (for a small fee). 24 hour security in the lobby was nice. Highly recommend it and will stay again.
Very expensive for a sub-par stay with cheap facilities. Will not be back.
The hotel is fine but the beds are small and not that comfortable. Plus the early check out requirement of 10 am and then having to pay 15 pounds per bag to check it was excessive considering how much the stay costs with 0 amenities.
BED BUGS
BED BUGS!!!
Never changed the bed sheets
Was there for 5 nights. Room was only cleaned on the last night of my stay. Bed sheets only changed once. Towels were brought every day.
Location was amazing staff was great
Rooms are bare, one towel person and no hand towels. No hairdryer, side tables or anything else in room. A bed with a pillow and that’s it’s.
the room was nothing like what was posted on the website. Not even a side table to set things on.
Amazing showers, minimal styling and super quiet rooms. A bit of a rabbit warren to get to your room, we had to lift bags up and down flights of stairs, the lifts didn’t service the area our room was in directly. Staff were very good in dealing with any problems or queries very quickly.
Rip off
The only hotel I’ve ever heard of to charge £15 per bag to leave before you check in or after you’ve checked out. Filthy stained duvet (we stopped guessing what bodily fluid the stain was ) and the bed wasn’t even made- just not great. Family of four in a windowless room (which we knew about) but we could hear banging music til about 3am (3rd floor) - all this for £299, not worth it at all
Bedbugs! My partner was covered in bites & looking at reviews it seems many guests have had a bedbug issue also. Rooms & bathroom weren’t clean.
Amazing service
Nice
Did not like anything
Very small room for 4 people, uncomfortable and we got bed bugs in bed. Only good thing was location.
Disappointed
Hotel staff were not welcoming, nor cheery in any way. Upon checkin, we were not greeted by any of the staff members stood around, and once we did approach the check in desk the lady didn’t even greet us, she just informed us of the £90 early check in. After we turned this down and requested to leave our bags for afew hours till check in, she explained that this would be a £15 fee per bag - we had absolutely no idea an out this fee and couldn’t find this information about the extra charges online, we were absolutely disgraced as this “budget hotel” ended up being the price of an average, better hotel (one with a complimentary baggage hold at the least). Staff were blunt, attracts the wrong crowd. The only good thing was the comfort of the bed, aswell as the location. I will not be recommending any time soon - really disappointed with all the added costs and service .
Functional hotel room in the middle of London
Dead centre location very basic but very clean comfortable to a degree for the price no chairs tables hair dryer etc. just the basics, beds pretty much a mattes on a raised floor, modern lighting sockets & usb clean modern bathroom half the size of the bedroom a very nice shower too no windows which didn’t bother me! A tip bring a bottle of water with no windows aircon will make you thirsty!
Perfect for quick Stay at the center of London
It was an absolute convenience when you need to go to London landmarks. Clean, but bump our heads on the bunk beds few times. Plus, I hope there are rugs on the toilet.
Not too sure what’s going on
Stayed here before and it was great. Second time can’t really compare. Bathroom wasn’t cleaned and room dirty. We were in a room right below the coyote ugly bar above which blasted music til 3am. This could be heard and felt from out room. We paid top prices for this and were dissapointed. We asked a lady to move rooms and luckily she said yes. My partner experiences racism in the hotel and when we told security they did nothing about it and told us we were overreacting and should ignore it. Not the stay we hoped for.
Excellent location and very friendly staff!! I would definitely stay here again.
THERE WERE BED BUDGS ON MY ROOM AS WELL AS A HAIR ON THE BED (IF WAS NOT OURS, WE SAW IT JUST AFTER WE DID THE CHECK IN). DO NOT GO TO THE HOTEL
Perfect location
The room was very clean, but was cold. I turned the aircon up to 28, but didn't have any impact. Shower was also tepid. I was only there for a couple of days so put up with it. Breakfast was good in the coyote ugly bar, but would have liked a little more choice of some heathier options. Great location, very central, but felt the £10 charge for an iron was a bit much, so went to Argos and bought a garment steamer for £20. Will stay there again, but will be better prepared next time.
Clostrophobic

Close to perfect but ...
Great location, ample space and friendly staff. Clean room, no TV but this didn't matter to me as I had laptop. Towels were replaced but bed uade. Not sure if an error or service on offer. I was in a single room but bed was double size with ample space. Not sure if standard or I was upgraded but that was really nice. Only problematic bit for me was the fact that I could not switch off the mirror light in the bathroom and I sleep with the lights off, so I found the glare through the glass door irritating. That and that as a guest you have to pay £15 to leave your luggage if you have a late flight but check out in the morning.
