The hotel Was smelly
Historic building is pretty interesting and staff was very nice, but rooms are very small. Hotel is on a busy corner and is very noisy.
Excellent customer service at the Warwick
We loved staying at the Warwick. The customer service was exceptional! Nestor and the desk staff were so welcoming and helpful. We requested ice twice and also extra towels and they were so accomodating. We well definitely stay there again.
Beautiful hotel in a central location.
It was so old property
Overall pretty good, but wouldn't recommend if you're a light sleeper. The curtains barely block out any light and the air conditioning is very loud, even when not on in your room
great hotel, great staff. I will definitely come back!
Staff friendliness
The hotel is generally good, I didn't like the restaurant. I don't understand the debits from the card, I paid through Expedia, upon arrival they took a deposit of more then in his rules , then they took money as for accommodation, when I checked out I asked at the reception, they couldn't tell me anything, they gave me paper checks with completely different amounts, when I asked what to do with those debits, they said that the money would be returned to me automatically when they formalize my departure. Conclusion - I didn't get anything back! I'm still waiting for my money back.
The heater did not work and the manager blamed us for pushing the button too much as the cause of it not working. The night staff sent a portable heater which only worked for one of the rooms so the adjoining room was freezing still. Around 3 am the heater turned on and started working but got stuck at 90 degrees so we just shut it off. We did not get much sleep. They did not offer a new room or any other accommodations or compensation for such an uncomfortable night. On top of that they took out $150 for deposit and then also charged me $268 when I already paid for the hotel in full ahead of time. When I called to get this fixed I was given the run around and had to wait hours to call back and speak with the manager. The hotel was clean, but the manager was rude and not service driven. She needs a lesson in customer service. She treated us like we were just lucky to be able to stay there. Not like we were paying customers.
Pros- close to everything l Cons- staff of Bota very unfriendly. Got sick from the food.
Central location, near all restaurants and sites to visit. Restaurant downstairs is not that great but there is plenty to choose from near by.
.
The front desk staff was amazing. I made a new friend!
Not worth it, spend a little more
Horrible smell.
Heating system was horrible, room was freezing and heating system wouldn’t go on. It took long time for heater to turn on.
We had a great stay at the hotel. Our room was large and comfortable. The reception staff are very kind and helpful! Nothing is too much of a trouble.
Great stay
Friendly, traditional hotel in an excellent location.
This our second time in SF, and we decided to go back to Warwick since we love it the first time and they didn’t disappoint us, the location is excepcional, staff was great, we surely recommend it. The only recommendation would be to improve the windows, specifically the ones at lower levels, because outside noice can be annoying sometime.
AC was broken and dripped. Shower was a little dirty. A razor cap was left on the window sill. Bed creaked with small movement. Front Desk as always helpful and kind.
Amazing stay!
The service was impeccable. The room was vintage, yet roomy, comfortable, and well equipped. Will definitely stay there again.
Comfortable hotel and very kind people on the reception
I loved the uniqeness of this hotel only thing I was upset about was the bath tub not being cleaned properly.
Warwick SF
Pleasant welcome after a many air travel delays and quiet accommodations.
Very nice and comfortable hotel, kind personal
Very good!!!
Had a general feeling that we were an inconvenience to the staff. Asked for a 5am wale up call and it never happened. Almost missed our flight. Would not recommend.
First at checkin they charge me 300 dollars from security deposit that was not specific on website , the room is pretty small for the price , cold room , cold bathroom and tv doesn't work properly
The Warwick Hotel provided an exceptional experience during my stay, combining elegant décor with top-notch amenities. The staff was incredibly attentive and helpful, ensuring that every need was met with a warm smile. The spacious rooms offered stunning views and were equipped with all the comforts necessary for a relaxing getaway. Additionally, the hotel's prime location made it easy to explore the vibrant surrounding area, making it a perfect choice for both leisure and business travelers.
It's an older hotel but well maintained, clean and a great location.
Spacious room, helpful staff, great location.
There were homeless people on the street below my room screaming in the morning. Waking me up and totally freaking me out. The hotel also didnt have an airport shuttle.
Super friendly and helpful staff.
Lovely hotel, walkable area. As usual with cities, you walk from one area to go into another area that is beautiful and well kept, and we did not feel unsafe in walking throughout the city. And we did walk all over while there.
I love staying at the Warwick. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean. Expect to hear emergency vehicles going by frequently. Hotel is close to everything in Union Square. Great bar and restaurant at this property. Area is safe for walking nearby, just make sure you’re walking with others as you never know.
Staff highly proactive. Location convenient but many homeless around
Great service, older building.
Service was amazing but the property is a bit outdated. The bathroom wasn’t working when we first arrived and maintenance had to come check out the toilet in our room.
Beautiful place and great staff
Staff were nice and attentive. However I did notice that the sheets on the bed had stains which they changed for me. Also the carpet in the room had stains. I will say the photos look nicer than in person. The hotel is located next to public transportation which was nice but have to be careful if you plan on walking a certain direction due to the homeless people.
We reserved the Grand Suite months in advance. Someone decided to stay over so they didn’t have the room we reserved but still charged us the same price. The staff was rude and very unprofessional!
Great location, kind staff, and our room was very clean.
Decent rooms, clean, and beds are very comfortable. Staff was excellent. You're basically in the Tenderloin and will see people struggling through life. Just be careful.
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay! The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. The bar was very nice along with the decor! However, as per San Francisco is, the area around the hotel was OK, with mental health neglected individuals walking around as well as house less individuals it made the area seem scary but with kindness and respect everyone is nice in the area. When my wife and I left the hotel for activities, we took Waymo (driverless cars) and used valet for our rental so it wasn’t at too much risk for theft activity. OVERALL the STAY and HOTEL were perfect and exactly what we needed. Thank you!
Fantastic !
Cute and Clean
Hotel is cute and clean with comfy beds. Late at night the door is locked and requires a desk attendant to open, which took a little longer than I liked given the street people nearby at that late hour. I would stay here again.
Wish it had a pool and jacuzzi, but overall a very nice place to stay.
Excellent location, very friendly front desk staff and bartenders!
Where do I even begin? This hotel is an absolute disgrace. Not only did I lose my wallet due to my own forgetfulness (which I take responsibility for), but the hotel staff turned a simple mistake into a complete nightmare. They promised to ship my wallet promptly, then failed miserably. Days later, I'm dealing with fraudulent charges on my credit cards and a level of incompetence from the staff that is truly astounding. From the dismissive front desk clerk who told me to simply "send an email" to the elusive General Manager who apparently only works night shifts, it's clear that customer service and basic security are not priorities at this establishment. Instead of taking responsibility and resolving the issue, they seem more concerned with a new GM starting next week. Unbelievable! This experience has been incredibly stressful and has completely shattered my trust in this hotel. I will NEVER book with them again and urge others to think twice before considering this establishment. You're better off sleeping on a park bench than risking your valuables and peace of mind at the Warwick San Francisco or their chains.
Fantastic little place with a lovely aesthetic. SF streets are rough at night these days and you don't necessarily want to walk too far in certain directions, but not the hotel's fault at all. I'd stay here again for sure
Beautiful hotel, complimentary glass of wine when you check in. Great room. Mattress can be upgraded but still nice. Staff are so nice and give excellent customer service. Valet quick and easy. Would stay again!!
Balcony suite was a great room in a nicer part of Union Square. Great front desk staff. Restaurant, bar, old school hotel nicely renovated. Valet. Would totally stay here again.
This little boutique hotel is so well situated. The staff is genial and the rooms are clean and quaint. Will stay here for our next visit to San Fran. So enjoyed this fun filled city.
The bar connected to the hotel (The European) is really chilled and the bar man was really helpful and nade us feel at home would definalty recommend stopping for a drink on your way out.
Staff was nice. Rooms was comfortable and clean.
will come again!
It was really nice, quiet, and excellent customer service! only downside was the tv’s brightness kept going down by itself. other than that really nice hotel
Thank you
The hotel and location are wonderful, close to lots of amenities including transit and dining. The neighbourhood is a bit sketchy, however, with unhoused people and a noticeable urine smell prevalent. I didn’t feel personally unsafe, but I was cautious, and families or single women might be wary.
Very nice staff, easy check in. Comfortable beds and bedding, thank you!
Good location
Gorgeous Hotel Room
Beautiful hotel and room. Close to where we needed to be for work. We would go there again!
Everything about this hotel is marvelous including the staff
Loved!
Front desk was quick and welcoming! Beautiful room, close to downtown and lots of food places nearby! Loved our stay!
Like many of the other reviews the staff is VERY helpful and kind. They made accommodations for our group of 4 and put us on the same floor loved that. The surrounding area however is not up to the standard of the hotel felt unsafe at night. This could easily be remedied by adding a key card entry at the front door after 10pm. The furnishings were scuffed and common areas were dusty. The bar closed at 11 but did not allow us to have our drink 30 minutes before closing. Easy things could be added like toiletries in the rooms having two sets of slippers if the accommodation says 2 people in each room. Easy things. Also the downstairs entryway had the glass shattered in but the front desk notified us that it had been that way for over 2 weeks felt like a long turnaround time for an entry way repair seeing that the door is the face of the hotel.
We were able to walk across the street to the Curran theater. The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful and nice.
Nice place.
It was clean. Staff was very friendly. The dedication of the ladies that cleaned the room was unmatched even with the do not disturb sign they still knocked on my door to see if I needed my room cleaned
Shabby not chic
Greeted by plywood on the front door upon arrival. After 2 failed attempts at getting the keys to work in my assigned room, they moved me to another room. Everything is worn and tired, many items requiring small fixes and attention (broken ironing board, bathroom cupboard doors falling off, uneven chairs). Topped off with a case of food poisoning at their Tapas restaurant. Not to mention Union Square is definitely not what it used to be. Only positive is that the staff were generally kind and seemed to be doing their best.
Staff acts like they are on they don’t know answers to any questions
Terrible hotel, but Nice staff
Room wasn’t clean. Fell asleep in the bed and didn’t realize it was dirty. There was crumbs and contact lenses inside the sheets. Coffee maker was previously used and unclean. Took a bath and didn’t realize the tub was not clean either and was swimming and someone else’s hair. Gave my phone number to front desk for general manager to give me a call and still haven’t received a call back. I booked one of the nicer rooms, hoping to give myself a solo getaway and ended up disappointed and grossed out.
Good value great location
Classic hotel, some rooms are updated. Generally on the small side, but so are most other hotels in SF. Excellent walkable for union square and theatre and other destinations, as well as public transport. Great value for the price.
Room is clean and staffs are very helpful
Hotel is in a very poor condition. Need upgrades big time. Small bathrooms. Dirty couch. Small screen old TV’s, dirty carpet…
It was weird
Kazib was amazing attended to my every need
Friendly Staff They kept my bag for a whole day I enjoyed my stay
The staff was very accommodating especially the manager Kevin and front desk attendant Angelina. We appreciated them very much.
To noisy, homeless all around, unsafe, n someone open our door n closed it felt very unsafe
Loved the old-San Fransico ambience of the hotel and the room was very comfortable
The only downfall I have about my recent stay is that one of my amenities (fireplace) was not working, so that pretty much ruined my night there. That was my whole purpose on staying at this property. I also was not accommodate for this unfortunate event. This will be my first & last visit there for sure. But thanks for the service
Unhelpful staff, extra hidden fees, parking was impossible to find.
You can do better.
The room was poorly lit and what furniture it contained was very well used. The TV looked like a tiny speck on the wall and like furniture was ancient. The hotel took their usual $100 deposit for incidentals and when I checked out told me it could be 10 days before I got it back! That's unacceptable and unwarranted. The bottom line is that I won't stay there ever again. It just wasn't worth it
There are much better and expensive places to stay
The hotel is very outdated. The check-in process felt ancient with me signing papers. When I walked in the room, it felt very muggy. The building itself is older in the decor in the room was also outdated. I would not stay here again, found something similar price that was way better. Staff was nice and helpful however
They charge you a hidden fee of $36 per day that they do not disclose to you upon arrival. When you ask them about the charge they tell you very calmly that it is what it is and you should resolve it with your bank or booking agent. The front desk is very unpolite and will hang up the phone even if you are talking. Also, they didn't have hot water in the room I stayed and and didn't give me another room until the next day and still charged me for that day. Very bad service and stealing money from you.
Madonna Trip
The young lady who checked us in was awesome! So helpful efficient and kind.
Great Experience
Great Customer Service, Clean/comfortable room and overall great experience. No onsite parking but parked in 24hr garage down the street for cheap. Close walking to union square and August Hall.
Our room was clean we had no complaints
Lovely, comfortable hotel in fabulous location
Warwicks room service is poor and the hours are inflexible. The food menus are also poor. They need to spruce it up
I had a great stay *except* that the 4 pillows on my bed were all thick and lumpy. I didn't sleep well because of them the first 2 nights. When I mentioned it to my friend, she gave me the one pillow on her bed that wasn't lumpy, and my last 2 nights were more comfortable. Ideally they would offer a choice of hard vs soft and thick vs thin pillows to accommodate various needs. I have stayed at other hotels who do provide options.
The hotel was great. But it's in current day San Francisco, so the area is a bit sketchy... not really their fault.
The lobby area was well decorated and check in was seamless for this reservation. The staff at the reception desk were very friendly and helpful. The corner deluxe Queen room was exactly as shown in the photos. The armoire was convenient to hold my clothes, but would have preferred having a working drawer for smalls… mine was broken. The desk was older and scuffed up, but absolutely functional.
Stay was decent, check in was easy
close to union square. clean.. affordable for sf
Window bathroom open
All was very good, only the Window of the bathroom could is not to close, therefore the bathroom is always cold
I had a great experience, even tho my room was 87° when I walked in! It was quickly fixed and I really enjoyed this hotel. Very boutique feeling
My husband and I celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary at the Warwick Hotel. The building was very Victorian in architecture, the room was unique and stylish with a huge ceiling to floor window. It was clean and cozy. The staff was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about San Francisco, this helped us In our daily expeditions. They sent complimentary chocolate and a bottle of champagne to our room on our anniversary, that was amazing. We were there on the US Thanksgiving and a staff left her home to come and check on us because the regular staff had the day off, that’s going beyond her duty, thank you Mary. Special thanks to Rumman first person we met at front desk that welcomed us and made us feel special. Thank you Nestor and Alfredo Our first time to California (San Francisco) was wonderful. Warwick will definitely be our home away from home Ray and Andrea Canada
Great room and friendly helpful staff.
It wasn't as clean as I expected and didn't feel safe walking around..
The front desk switched our corner room to suit by saying it's better and bigger... who needs bigger room in a lower floor with noise and unsecure. We refused to give away our corner room and we've been told that you can go to another hotel because we don't have any available rooms except that suit. We left next day they didn't even give us a refund or receipt. Such a bummer... They ruind our 2 day stay in SF.
The lady’s at front desk are awesome wish I could say the same about the day time guy at front desk.. but overall it was a nice stay
