loved it as usual
I liked the place, being next to SF MOMA, and I would stay there again. The frost desk people and all staff were great. However, I was taken aback by the $40 per day fee. I applied the fee to room service (it does not apply to the minibar), to avoid a waste of the money, but that is very pricy and was not optimal.
Loved it
Nice lobby
Nice stay.
Overall very nice. Great location for our needs. Very attentive and pleasant staff. Glad the "resort fee" was included in the quoted price this time. It's annoyingly restricted, but at least now they are being mostly honest about it. Wish they'd use fitted sheets. Normally I don't require daily room cleaning, but the sheets came loose every night and I was glad for them to come remake the bed each day. Place was very clean, but some of the upolstery was showing a bit of wear.
Great hotel, clean and good food at the restaurant
Nice place!
Great service
I was forced to pay $40 extra per day. Something it should have been disclosed to me before I booked the hotel. Parking was $90 per might which is outrageous as well!
Really enjoyed our stay at thus hotel. It’s conveniently located and has nice friendly staff. Trace Restaurant inside the hotel has really good food, especially the breakfast!
Good attention! Excellent job.
Hotel was nice but parking was pricey.
Very nice place , Would definitely recommend
The service and food was amazing Had a suite on the 31st floor view was beautiful had a great holiday at the W San Francisco and will book again next year
Highly recommend
Highly recommend, great service and very comfortable room
Everything was fine
Great location. Clean and modern.
Room service was inedible and front desk was inattentive and lazy. The seating and TV in the room needed to be replaced/repaired.
Very nice stay
Nice modern room, great patio, nice workout room, cute bar.
Great trip!
good ambience in the lobby
Proximity is great it was a 7 to 8 out of 10. Everything appeared nice and luxurious but it was obviously a relatively-newly renovated property with glamorous photography. Day staff at the desk were snoby anti-workers that seemed offput (to say the least) any time you asked for any assistance. Personally i will never go back because of some of the staff there **especially the guy in the scotish golf flat hat** However, night shifters and foodworkers were *so amazing, helpful, and kind* that it is hard to write this. I think there is a serious problem with senior management where they feel entitled and dont want to work which is bringing down the rest of the hotel. I loved the facility, ac needs to be converted to functional units not high efficiency because they do not cool the room so the property is actually losing more money because everyone is cranking it as high as it goes. So yes if you are used to 62 deg you will get 68-78 depending on if your window is facing the sun. <-view room im talking to you leave the window shut when you are gone. All in all might stay there again if the environment is on the up.
Love the w
Great!
Excellent customer service
Front desk staffs were super nice, willing to listen and accomodate our requests. Dining and breakfast were obviously understaffed, waited long time to even make a takeout order. Gym is well equipped, only disappointment was no swimming pool/spa, considering this is a 4.5 star hotel.
Check-in on the Bonvoy app was suboptimal as it did not give a virtual key requested. However, that was the only hiccup for our whole stay. Everything else was great!
Nice property.
Excellent place in a phenomenal location
Good city hotel
Excellent service from the moment I stepped out of my car. Would absolutely stay again.
Room was for two people and had only 1 barstool or floor cubes to use as a chair. For in room dining had to sit on bed for us to eat. Seating in room was a window seat that you used another cube to step on to climb into the window seat. Weird. At $400 a night I guess expecting 2 chairs was too much for Marriott.
Trifling how the W presents its property to hard working paying customers. A lot of bigotry energy from staff as well.
The staff, except for the Valet and bartender, were not very friendly. I booked the room a month in advance, paid for, but upon arrival they tell me there is a "destination fee" of 40$ a day nonrefundable. Plus they put a $300 hold on my card. I was like whatever. Then they said we'll have a bottle of wine as a gift for our anniversary. They never fulfilled that promise and acted like it was never told to us upon checking in. It was an overpriced room. Wallpaper pealing. Toilet would not flush until you tried numerous times. Bed rock hard. Pillows horrible. The location to the bay was great but above that, I would never recommend the W to anyone. They took advantage of us and my bill was not reflective of the service or stay. Way too much for way too little. I'll stay elsewhere next time.
It’s a nice hotel, the registration was quick and easy. The rooms were nice and clean.
Good
We always enjoy our stays at the W
The front desk staff and valets were wonderful. They checked us in early and gave us tips about a parade blocking streets the next day. We had bad service in the bar area but the manager of the bar came along eventually and made it all right.
Very nice
check in online, clean, quiet, great parking close by, friendly staff, short walk to Oracle Park
It was ok the room was great. My room was next to the elevator and you can heard it all the time and it seems to be close to the service room because they were making noise all day. also I had a no disturb sign and the house- keeping knoc at my door them left saying sorry.
Location
Great property. Loved our room
The hotel was clean, and the staff was very friendly. The area around the hotel was very walkable and clean, and very easy to catch an uber/lyft outside to anywhere you'd like to go. I would definitely stay here again the next time I decide to visit.
Lovely SF hotel
Lovely hotel located so conveniently close to Moscone center and Metreon and SF MoMa. You are also within walking distance of good eateries. The corner room had a breathtaking view of the surrounding area and it was so cute and clean. Bed was comfortable as well. We had two complementary drinks at the bar as well. Overall I enjoyed our stay at W and will stay here again for sure.
Nice hotel. Staff was awesome. Be sure to self-park your vehicle. Garage is 2min walk from hotel
Trendy spot at a reasonable price
Hip spot close to Oracle Park. We got a free upgrade and the room was modern and comfortable. Only negative was the $40 resort fee which seemed gratuitous.
Not the safe place
Love the W. Showed up early and they got me a room right away. Sean the guy who checked us in was amazing and so helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants an upscale experience.
The worst part was the noise in the late afternoon. We arrived tired and tried to sleep. It was impossible, I am still not sure if it were hotel pipes etc or a neighbor but every few minutes a noise like a marble ball rolling on marble was waking us up.
Great property
The suite we were in had a problem with the master room toilet. It made very loud noises that would follow after flushing. The noise would persist a couple minutes after maybe it difficult to sleep through the night . The room was clean and roomy
Staff was very helpful and pleasant to work with. The restaurant had a somewhat limited menu but all of the food we tried, both for breakfast and lunch, was good. One minor complaint, the rooms are a little small.
Great front desk
Conveniently located. Staff was friendly and helpful
Too many events going on at the same time.
Our stay here was very pleasurable. We had an awful experience at the bar. Poor customer service. Cold food a d we found hair on our plate. Our server was pretty horrible never came back to check on us. Attempted to get his attention three times and he ignored us. Finally got the attention of the manager on the floor and he was able to take care of all of our issues. The W hotel is not cheap so you would think the customer service would be a lot better. Do better W-hotel, people are spending good money to be here.
The best customer service we’ve received at a hotel- our stay was wonderful and we’ll be back.
This is the second W hotel that i stayed and this is a good option, what I didn’t liked was that the parking is only with an extra cost ~90 usd. I used parking lot near for 35 usd the night and my car was safe.
Solo travel
I’ve stayed at many hotels within this city, and by far, this is my favorite one! The service is amazing and made me feel comfortable, I was very confused with some terms and conditions but the hotel made sure I was aware with everything. Along with giving me my request such as a high floor and city view, it was just phenomenal. The $40 destination fee is worth it if you make sure to use it, order food from their menu for dinner or breakfast! At first, I was hesitant about the pancakes and water being expensive, but was it worth it considering I couldn’t even finish it.
Great hotel
Great Time
Hotel was awesome. Amazing room and hotel overall. Hotel staff was great to deal with in every facet.
Very non reasonable behavior from all staff
It was safe and convenient for me and my daughter; staff was great.
Hidden costs. Dishonest business
There is a mostly hidden $40 PER DAY mandatory fee. Don’t be fooled by the claim that you can use it as a credit toward hotel purchases, the restrictions are extensive and the allowed uses all but guarantee you will pay more. Room service was way overpriced, laced with fine print fees and low quality food. It seriously isn’t that hard to make good cookies, but they don’t bother. Being constantly tricked into higher costs was a major negative in what would otherwise have been a pleasant stay.
Great hotel with wonderful staff
Good location
jkk
Great, clean and wonderful staff!
Manager Oscar was amazing. Staff was grear. Bar has good service and drinks. Rooms were clean and spacious.
wonderful location and outstanding staff, highly recommended
Great stay
Great location, clean, quiet and super nice service. Would definitely go back the next time we go to the city.
We did enjoyed our stay with them, but it's not like other W. Hotels that we stayed before. Needs more improvement to leave up to W. Brand, as a luxury hotel.
Our stay was great. Our room was bright and clean, although there wereno extra toiletries you’d expect from the W and no wash clothes, and the valet parking fee was outrageous. Otherwise a fabulous stay. We would stay there again.
We stayed at the W in San Francisco for a long weekend away. They have a $40 per day resort fee. But they essentially give it back in a $35 per day good and beverage credit in the hotel. Also, free tickets to the SFMOMA next door! Great staff. Cool lobby.
Staff and service was excellent.
We were checked in by Lupe, and checked out by Oscar. Lovely staff!! We enjoyed our stay and everyone was extremely patient and kind to us the entire time. Room service was delicious, and quick. Overall experience was memorable and enjoyable. Will definitely be back!
We were traveling with our dog and needed an early checkin to make an important apt, the staff did a great job of understanding our predicament and got us in our room in time for us to make our apt. Visas approved, PT next! Thanks W!!
The W San Francisco was so comfortable and cozy! It was clean, well kept, and had a fun environment.
Wonderfully nice and helpful staff! Beautiful clean rooms! Beautiful furnishings, great building and a great location! Will definitely stay there again!
Easy to get to union square
Lots of extra fees. Had trouble turning on lights and shower.
Checkin staff was amazing!!!
The bellhop on Friday evening (6:15-30 pm bracket) was just awesome! He saw us getting out of an Uber and trying to navigate to the concierge, and he was out there guiding us! This has been the best service in SF so far in all of my trips! I came for a Halloween party, and everything was just awesome! I don't remember his name, but I wish everyone could work as hard as he did.
I liked how clean the room was and the beds were comfortable. The city view was pretty. The staff was welcoming and pleasant to speak to. Hotel was within walking distance of restaurants, cafes, target. Hotel has a nice gym. Cons- no pool/hot tub. The first two nights we had to deal with loud music because there was a party in the lobby, even though we were on the 12th floor. The staff that helped me check in the first night failed to mention we get tickets to the cable cars, rental bikes or museum, she also failed to mention how she was charging my card even though we had prepaid for our reservation, so there was a hold on my card for two days. We were not informed that there was a $35 credit included in our fees each night to use for drinks or food at hotel but apparently we are supposed to know that since its on the site. Regardless of using it youll still be charged. Its the staffs job to inform you of the benefits included in your stay in my opinion. Parking is a nightmare , no street parking and even if there is, its a time limit. Parking in SF Moma is available for $35 per night and you cant move your car from 11-7am once the garage closes. If you park your car for two hours you get charged $16 and anything above two hours costs $26. Overall, happy about my stay besides the misinformation , parking , and loud music. Pretty pricy for a hotel that does not include a pool or hot tub .
The staff and securities were so rude and not friendly.
Great service, all the stars
We came for the Halloween party and LOVED the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent, friendly, wonderful service. We ordered an in room breakfast and the food was very good. Our room service delivery guy was so great! He has a servants heart and deserves a promotion, he should train people. The party was great too! We had a lot of fun. Great music, everyone was having a good time. We’ll be back.
Check in was kind of chaotic and the room i booked wasnt ready nor available, but I was upgraded and it was a festival weekend so understandable.
Super convenient to Mascone Center for conference attending
It’s a good hotel to stay
Must stay!
Beautiful hotel and the entire staff starting from the valet, to the front desk check in to the concierge were extremely friendly! Would highly recommend this hotel to all my friends and family and will be back on our next trip to San Francisco!
This stay was great. The restaurant/bar in the lobby was phenomenal as well. We attended the baseball game but also had a great time enjoying the hotel atmosphere.
Perfect location to attend a Giants game. Easy 15 minute walk. Will definitely stay again.
Amazing
Entire stay was amazing! From when I checked in, to the bar area, to room service!
This property was great overall. Nice restaurant and bar area. 15 minutes to Oracle (which was our reason for the stay). It could use some updating and a larger reception area. There were quite a bit of checkins and it took some time.
Property is a W it’s ok but staff wasn’t friendly. Makes me want to book another hotel next time.
Great place to stay!
Staff was very polite from the moment we arrived. JP was kind enough to give my wife & I an upgrade upon learning we were celebrating a mini honey moon. Great view of the city, very easy to get to & the area around had very convenient shopping & restaurants.

Day in the city
Hotel was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful with local information. We loved the modern decor. Breakfast was great. More than enough. Valet assistance was excellent. Finally the fitness center was a level up. Great equipment and spacious.
