The property was close to where we needed to go. Nice size room. However, the elevator kept stalling. Was afraid to get on it at times for fear that it would stop while we were on it. Husband walks with a cane, so climbing 3 flights of stairs wouldn't be easy. Our door key worked (turned green), but the latch was loose and hard to open. We reported that. On the first night the water was turned off due to a leak in the building. After traveling all day, we just wanted to wash and go to bed. That was delayed due to this.

Over all it was clean and friendly but the breakfast was horrible experience there was so many people waiting and waiting for food to be made and it was hard to even get anything to eat the people that make the breakfast were very slow it wasn't until the end they rushed it but by then there breakfast time was over

Great continental breakfast

This property is under construction. We were given a room that smelled horrible (like wet dog and cat piss) and the front desk quickly moved us to another room. All in all a good place for the price.

Dear TownePlace Suites Management, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent experience at your property in San Antonio. Unfortunately, my stay did not meet expectations due to several issues. 1. Booking and Refund Issue: I arrived one day late and requested assistance with a refund or adjustment, but neither the Director of Sales, Philip Sloop, nor the front desk agent, Brianna, were able to provide any help. While Sade attempted to assist me, she did not have the authority to resolve the matter, leaving me feeling unsupported. 2. Property Not as Described: The hotel did not match the description provided on Expedia. This discrepancy significantly impacted my overall experience. Given these issues, I am disappointed with the level of customer service I received and the condition of the property. I expected better from a TownePlace Suites location and regret choosing your hotel for my stay. I hope you will take this feedback seriously to improve the experience for future guests. Disappointed by the condition of this hotel, given that it is part of the Marriott brand. Hallway, rooms, and elevators are in dire need of renovation and upkeep. One can't hold the staff accountable for the condition of this place, but I will say that the room looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in days (if not weeks). We had picked this location due to its proximity to one of our favorite breakfast spots in town, but quickly realized that we should've stuck with our usual hotel about 5 minutes away. There are much better options at similar price points within minutes. We are just glad that this was juat a one night stay.

Is m not sure how Marriott can put the name in the property. There will be an expectation when something’s has Marriott name. Apparently Marriott has lowered its standards or Marriott didn’t do the due diligence.

Location

There were lots of barking dogs had to move room, 2nd room air conditioning did not work and finally 3rd room there is a hole by air conditioning under to carpet that feels like you may go through the floor tor 2nd floor ceiling.

Easy to locate. Nearby to restaurants and highway access. I went to the downtown area and the Pearl and both times took 20 minutes.

It was ok

The room was ok…very dated. Had to go back down to the front desk at midnight for extra bedding for the fold out couch since they wouldn’t bring it up to us. Breakfast was mediocre.

The hotel is infested with cockroaches. Staff was friendly. Do not recommend.

Don't Waste Your Money or Time with this hotel

Room was dirty upon check in, terrible leak from bathroom sink, bed had stains on it that look like a child was conceived on it, sofa bed mattress was gross and torn along the side, hair and girls bow left in drawer, coffee pot looked like it had not been cleaned in years, pots were dirty, floor was sticky, gummy sticky stuff on the glass in the cupboard, grout in shower and bathroom floor dirty, and several other issues. For being a hotel with a kitchen several basic utensils, pots, or serving items missing. Roll of paper towel had at best 6 sheets on it. When tried to get addressed staff was initially non-responsive and I walked up to an employee telling another employee that because they were sold out there nothing can do to alleviate the problem---it was after I spoke up and explain that I am the guest you are talking about that I got some response but yet was left with a room that was still not completely clean and missing towels. I have tons more pictures but they limit it to 8 to be posted.

Dirty cold breakfast

The breakfast area small and and pictures hace be giving waffles and nothing juat watered down egg and orange juice was more water then juice. Feomt desk not helpful at all. I uswd erd party but due to a emergency i had to check out a day before and wouldnt provide me a paper saying i left sunday at 11:18 am . Wont stay here again .

The staff was super nice. It was quiet. Right next door to a nice gas station. Plan to stay there again.

Last day of check out breakfast buffet was terrible! Scrambled eggs and sausage patties was the main course. No breads nor bagels of anything available. Coffee was watered down and not kept up. I had family from our of state and town it was embarrassing!!! We're visiting Six Flags nearby and the property area was dirty for being a Marriott. Rooms were outdated old faul smells and simply not to any of my expectations... I paid for Four rooms for two nights and wasn't happy.

Horrible, stay away!

The room we were given had a horrible odor of possibly curry. The hotel is super old and the bathroom grout is dirty, with moldy corners on the floor by the tub, the sofa bed was dirty and old, we had it reserved for 5 people and there were only 2 towels in the room. I had to call reception 3 times, first because the keys to the room would not work, and we were arriving exhausted and cold after had spent all day at Sea World and getting wet in rides, so the keys not working was a huge inconvenience. Someone came up with another key. The moment we walked into the room the strong odor hit us and I called reception asking for a different room. We were told they were fully booked. Then a couple of the kids got in the shower and we noticed there were not enough towels, so I called reception again and they told me to go down to pick them up (again,we were exhausted and cold so I asked if they could bring it into our room, but she said NO, I'm alone here). So I got really upset and told her we were completeley dissatisfied and I asked if they had a sister company hotel to send us to. The lady said there was a Holiday Inn across the street, but not a suster company. I complained again and she said, go to a different hotel and I will give you a full refund, and she hung up on me! We packed our stuff back up, checked out, and left. We are SO HAPPY WE LEFT because for $10 more we spent the night at Holiday Inn Express which was extremely clean, comfortable and with excellent breakfast!

Family hotel

It was not what i was expecting from this hotel. I booked 3 rooms, the room we got the AC was not working. I called and someone came to see if they could get it to work, no luck. He told us they were completely booked and would only give us a refund for that one room for the night. We were getting ready to leave because it was extremely hot in there then the front desk calls us and tell us they did have a room for us to relocate. Then they tell me i have to go downstairs to the front desk to exchange the room cards (why didn't someone came over to deliver does). I get to the elevator and is not working 😕, i have to use the stairs to get there. The staff was not friendly at all, we had food and were eating after breakfast ended. They lady that was cleaning told us to move because she was about to clean. That was so rude of her. Will definitely not be back to this hotel. Very disappointed.

I reserve a king size bed and they didn't gave me that and then the key didn't work they had to program the key 4 times. The breakfast it was SUPERRRR limited they didn't have anything by 8:30am and they didn't want to make more food. The AC unit didn't work good. They charge me $5 per night for parking even i didnt have a car. I will not recommend this Horrible Hotel.

Nice quiet place. Loved the complementary breakfast. The sofabed's matress and the bed's sheets should be thrown out, they had stains... The rest, not bad.

There was no toilet paper in bathroom, toilet seat was very loose, and ac unit was squealing louder and louder. I was placed in another room, but no one should’ve been put in this room due to the ac unit issue.

Staff is pretty nice. Rooms had mildew and kitchen appliances resume to o e fork and terrible knife and 2 dirty pans.

The only minus is the inability to watch TV. Other than that, it was excellent. A big plus for the lady providing breakfast. She gives an excellent service and keeps up with cleanliness.

So much for smoke free

The room smelled of marijuana. There were flecks of marijuana leaves in the nightstand drawer and in the sofa bed mattress. The hotel was full so they couldn't offer me a different room. The gentleman at the front desk did come in and personally clean the room but it did little for lingering smell. I've put too much faith in the hotel's reputation and the start ratings lately that I've stopped getting the "cancel anytime" option. Moving forward I will be choosing that option.

It was perfect place for the night

Very clean sheet & blanket, I don't have to use my own personal blanket etc...very good breakfast, clean restroom, and the staff is very friendly/ helpful.

First thing first, we have stayed at this location before and this stay was not the same...after check we noticed one elevator not working and the working elevator wasnt working(button) to get to 3rd floor where we were at(worker said just keep pressing button it has an issue) we ended up using stairs. Breakfast was 7-10am we got there at 9:30 and there was a line waiting for eggs, they were never brought out..coffee was served at night but no cream available because staff had no key to where creamer was. One of my keys wasnt working it took 30 mins at front desk to attend me since there was a customer that had an issue checking out and he was giving a free drink for the wait, i had to pay for mine while i waited just as long...we stayed two days, checked out second day didnt bother to get breakfast but we wont be coming back to this location again...

Just felt dirty!

Older hotel, needs updating, saw many bugs in the room. When we were eating breakfast there was a huge cockroach crawling on the floor close to us. Water stains on the ceiling of our room. No central A/C, only a/c is by the window, and it took forever to cool down. Shampoo dispenser was out when we arrived, family of 5, and no sheets for the fold out couch were in the room, and not enough towels. Stains on the duvet covers on the beds, stains on the couch. Just felt dirty!

Property was pretty outdated and the “included breakfast” was very limited to powdered eggs and toast.

Decent hotel. We had ants in our room and bed and they ended up biting us and leaving welts overnight. The hotel did move us once aware but still… they were coming through the AC. We were in the second floor. Also, the person above us had a dog that sounded like a horse… I get pets going with travelers but maybe put them on a bottom floor to take care of the other guests.

I booked a room here because of the marriot name and it is associated with quality. I was disappointed. The grounds were fair. The breakfast was disorganized and basic condiments were never there for both breakfasts. I ended up eating out on my last morning. The staff at breakfast were unorganized and whenbi asked for a condiment they forgot and they took forever to replace it. Very unorganized. But after breakfast hours they all just sat around eating. Thr room was adequate and the bed was comfortable. Overall it did the met my most basic needs. Would think twoce before staying here again.

Had motorcycle group revving their engines and playing loud music right outside my window next to the front of the property at 10:28pm on Saturday night. Breakfast on Saturday had packaged food only, no eggs, sausage, fresh cut up fruit, or oatmeal (except for packaged variety). Limited on yogurt. Lids for the coffee cups did not fit, making it impossible to take the coffee on the road. No creamer in coffee area. Had to walk to breakfast area and get it out of the fridge, making preparing a quick cup of coffee at the coffee bar impossible. Remote and even buttons on TV worked only sporadically to change the channel. Ran out of toilet paper as did other guests who were seen in the lobby picking it up. Toilet was running upon arrival due to worn out flapper.

Old and dirty

Toilet doesn’t flush, found out the hard way. Door to room has been rebuilt with bondo or wood filler. Place is old and needs remodel. We will never stay here again.

Our bed sheets were stained with dried blood. Makes one think if they actually wash them after every use. They were replaced once staff was notified. Toilet seat was loose and I had to tighten the one bolt holding the seat down. Room looked old and used up. The room could/should be updated with new furniture, carpet, etc.

Washers were out of order, they only had one vacuum cleaner and never cleaned our room for 6 days.clean towels only. Breakfast was fair.

Don’t stay here

When we arrived we booked a double room and only one of our beds had pillows. We called the front desk and were told that they ran out of pillows. Two guests in our party slept without pillows. The hotel is rundown and is need of upgrading.

Our room was not clean when we first arrived. Asked for cleaning services, but they never came! Later we found cockroaches in our hotel room and had to vacate the hotel in the middle of the night! Wouldn’t stay there ever again!

Horrible Experience

Our reserved room was no longer available. The only one left did not have beds for our family, so my son had to sleep on the floor. After waiting for over an hour and being told a couple of times that our extra sheets would be delivered, my husband had to go search for someone to get sheets while my children were waiting to go to bed. The king bed was rock hard and so uncomfortable. Where are the competent employees!??

This hotel is old, there was sinks in the floors in the rooms and hallways. Water in the bathroom were lukewarm not hot. Pullout bed was horrible. Not enough light in the rooms..

Staff was very nice. We had no hot shower in first room, night one. They gave us a new room - my electric card had to be reprogrammed 9 times, causing multiple trips to front desk

For the cost, this place was a good stay in SanAntonio. I was in an accessible room and found it to work well to my needs & I’d stay again for the $ Pros: very clean. well appointed kitchenette with refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffeemaker, & 2-pan cooktop plus dishware, flatware, pans, etc. Room was large - bed comfortable usb charging ports on each side of bed & on the desk lamp. elevators are fast! Cons: Can hear the people in the next room even though they were talking at normal levels. I assume they heard us chatting as well. I know this common issue at many hotels, but heads up. breakfast was just meh with inconsistent food temps & quality between the two mornings. Both days offered scrambled eggs and sausage patties as the hot items (my least favorite at hotels). The oatmeal was creamy and amazing on the day I ate later (9:30am), but almost raw and watery when I showed up earlier a day later (8:00am). I would suggest and have been delighted to see them serve bacon, biscuits n sausage gravy, and waffles or pancakes for breakfast. There wasn’t a luggage rack in the closet to set my suitcase on. Perhaps just missing in my room? Most have them. And my biggest recommendation to this hotel is to provide a dinette or place for people to sit and eat together in the rooms. Since one can cook in the room but there’s no place to sit and eat except at the desk tucked in a corner with just one office chair.

Easy to get to Texas Oncology! Clean and safe facility!

Room was clean, staff was nice, but the shower/bathroom situation was terrible. We stayed for 3 nights. The first night and next morning we took showers and none of us had hot water.....it wasn't freezing but it was was only occasionally almost warm. And the water pressure was non-existent...it was a dribble at best no matter which setting it was on. The next morning we got up to shower and there was NO hot water at all...it was straight freezing. They did move us rooms and were very kind about it. But the new room...the remote batteries were dead, all but one of the bathroom lightbulbs was burnt out so it was very dark. The water pressure was slightly better but not much but it was hot and the tub drained (water built up in the tub in the previous room.) The staff was really nice. The breakfast was pretty good. So not the worst place I've stayed - I just really like a nice hard hot shower and you will not get that here.

My allergies were terrible in this room Because it smelled like straight baby powder. There blood stains in the shower. Our air conditioner never got cold. I did like how I felt safe. Friendly staff.

Wonderful stay

The room was great however there was only hot water in the shower. Pet areas had poop bags but no grass. Breakfast was great!

The woman checking us in was the most pleasant person! She was friendly & professional. We stayed for just one night and everything was great. The pool is a little small and got crowded after a while, but its summer and we are all hot! So, I get it! Location is centralized to mostly everything you need. We would happily stay here again.

Definitely a great stay

I would definitely stay here again... and we did! The staff is friendly and accommodating. Our room was spacious and comfortable for our family of five! The pool was nice and clean and not too deep either.
