Awesome spot
A beautiful hotel, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the staff were all lovely and very helpful. The rooftop restaurant is pure magic. Absolutely gorgeous, the staff SO friendly, and the food was amazing and, for SF, well priced.
Timbri was a great experience overall. One block away from all major Powell St transit. And minutes away from the Embarcadero. The restaurant on the roof was great and made for easy breakfast and dinner. Very clean and stylish hotel.
The place we stayed was fresh, clean, and stylish, which made it easy to relax after a busy day. The attention to detail created a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.
I love staying here it was soo fancy and clean
The front desk staff was very friendly and I love the rooftop restaurant.
nice hotel with no desk in the room
Very clean and nice hotel in a convenient location. One unexpected issue with the room was the lack of a desk, so it was quite difficult to find a convenient place to work in the room.
I was over charge for my stay and my reciept does not reflect the charges. I called to ask someone to explain and was told they did not have time ti explain it.
Really nice hotel, the skyline view was great to see the sun rise/set, nice coffee in the room, just lacked tea. The hotel was super clean and comfortable and staff super nice. It is in a road where many homeless people are, so coming in and out of the hotel feels a bit unsafe.
I would stay there again. Good, solid hotel. Staff were very nice. Not much storage capacity in the room.
Everything was great valet parking turning out to be in the same area as public parking. Parking lot was not in a private are to the hotel definitely not worth the $77 they charged. Website listed $68 for parking hotel over charges!
The room was small and looked out at a wall with an odd mural. Be sure to ask for a room with a view. There was no table except a small side table. We ordered food and had nowhere to eat it. There was no microwave. The fridge was full of chargeable items, so we couldn't use that. However the bed was amazingly comfortable, and the shower was wonderful. I would stay again, but be sure to ask for certain amenities.
Very helpful staff!
Great hotel clean and very comfortable! The surrounding area can be sketchy, just be aware.. but over all great stay ! I will come back !
Overall great property good price, room is cute and modern and artistic. Wish was larger but thats inevitable
Great boutique hotel
Very convenient for being near my work. Entrance to the hotel from Market Street was a bit confusing.
Hotel was great. Check in was easy and staff was professional. Hotel restaurant/bar was fantastic. Great food and drink. Security was also helpful when asked about directions. Location to shops, the theater and the wharf was perfect. I highly recommend this hotel. Coffee in the room was also a nice surprise and much appreciated.
The property was close to everything we were doing in San Francisco. It had serene public spaces to relax in and the rooms are well appointed and quiet.
The Line hotel now The Temuni who knew???
The hotel changed ownership the night before my check-in with no notification difficult finding the hotel because of the name change. Staff was very inefficient and confused on check-in. They did not remind me of my $37 room credit which I could’ve used at the restaurant, no instructional material in the hotel as to the mini bar the TV or Wi-Fi. When I returned for the night the room smelled of marijuana. I assume this is a non-smoking hotel.
Q
Every thing was awesome
The hotel itself was nice and clean. Room was not ready at check in (3:00). Rooftop bar/restaurant doesn't open until 4 so had to hang out in the lobby. Staff at rooftop bar seemed put out to have a large group. Elevators were horrible, key card could only get you to your floor and if staying with a group on different floors, good luck trying to connect. The area around the hotel is overrun by drug addicts and homeless. Literally had human crap on the sidewalks in front of hotel. Great little liquor store across the street with friendly clerks
The room and the restaurant was really clean and had a nice view of the city from the restaurant.
Pretty property, very clean. Not much on amenities in hotel. Bars were closed for Private event, no warning no food no nothing
Overall a beautiful, comfortable place to stay. Just know that it is not in the nicest area in SF. But great value!
We stayed at the Line SF because we’re familiar with the Line LA, but they are nothing alike. The Line SF is corporate and lacking any character whatsoever. The night we stayed, there were cops and ambulances right downstairs on the street, which seems to be a pretty frequent occurrence in the area. Also, their extra fees are completely ridiculous for what you get. For a hotel with zero amenities, they feel they have the right to charge a “resort fee”. On the fine print, it says the “resort fee” includes “Housekeeping, In-room bottled water, In-room coffee, In-room safe”. Since when is housekeeping considered an amenity? That is part of the room rate. And an in-room safe? A piece of metal that just sits there warrants an extra fee? Ridiculous. And they don't disclose the full parking amount either prior to the stay. I received a message before check in saying its $68, but apparently that does not include tax and basically parking for one night and the BS resort fee basically doubled the room rate. I highly recommend staying somewhere else if you actually want to relax and have an enjoyable time.
Birthday trip
Very nice hotel and in walking distance from several places. Neighborhood is sketchy. Would stay again for location.
Amazing stay, walking distance to so many things, such as Union Square and the Orpheum Theater. We were blown away by how amazing the space and service were!
Lots of potential, but…
The neighborhood is overrun with homeless people. When we returned from a show, we realized one of our keys, the phone, and the TV remote did not work. We called the front desk on our cell phone about the remote and were told that the engineer was off duty and they were not allowed to give us batteries. They discounted $40, but our bill was still over $300 for an experience that did not measure up to the price.
The staff as excellent. Rooms were pleasant and comforting. I would definitely stay here again .
beautiful hotel, beautiful room, but market street has gone to crap and there is literally human feces on sidewalks all around the hotel. the view out our window was comical yet sad. the city should do more to help the drug addicts passed out on the street instead of what we saw, pushing them onto the next block.
Good hotel. Horrible location.
The quick check was great, i was told of my food a d drink credit, but the door was the same, no upgrade.
The area around the hotel did not feel safe.
Nice property in very not nice area but more importantly very poorly managed !!!! The level of borderline disrespect I have experienced has left me with no words !!!
This hotel is fantastic. The details are very nice and very high-end. The staff was very kind. The person checking me and even giving me a free drink coupon for the rooftop bar, which was amazing. The area around is very sketchy. I used to live in San Francisco and I’m very familiar with the area so I felt OK but Might not be great for families, etc.
Loved my stay just was not aware of the surrounding area. Didn’t feel comfortable walking at night
Very chill vibe. Loved the live rnb DJ set. Hotel was great. Located close to Union square.
Overall great stay, aside from the surrounding area. A lot of construction
The area around the property was very ugly
A lot of homeless
Right next to The Warfield for a concert so convenient! Staff member King was friendly and helpful, anZing customer service provided!
I love the Line Hotels. Great aesthetic, great rooms, great service.
Y
I love boutique hotels and this one did not disappoint. There’s Alfred Coffee downstairs! Location is super convenient - close to the trams on Powell and Market, and also a walking distance to Union Square.
The rooftop restaurant had beautiful views of the sunset. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs.
Clean & convenient hotel excellent decor with great rooftop
Excellent hotel right off of market. Parking a bit $$ but the room was very nice. Excellent stay for a warfield show.
Great Hotel
I asked the receptionist at the front desk about my VIP amenity and was rudely told in front of other guests that I didn’t have one. That is not a good way to make a first impression and it’s not even accurate. I didn’t receive any perks because I was too embarrassed to argue about it.
Great except for one particular bartender
Reception and one particular bar staff was awfull. According to her boss, she will be gone as he’s replaced others in the last two months. Her attitude was awful
Good
Meh - better value options around the area
The hotel is nice and beautifully appointed. My biggest complaint is that it is quite noisy. I woke up several times throughout the evening from loud screaming and arguing on turk st. This was a big disappointment. I complained to the hotel staff but nothing transpired. Also the rooftop restaurant was nice, but the service was quite underwhelming. I waited 30 min for my wine to arrive, and had to ask several times for condiments/utensils/napkins (because they kept forgetting). Hotel is mediocre at best
The hotel was great, but the area is in rough shape. I wouldn't walk around the area late at night and it will be best to Uber or Lyft to your location. Didn't spend much time in hotel for we were exploring the city, but rooftop bar was amazing and staff was really nice. If it's your first time to San Francisco I wouldn't stay here and recommend something closer to the bay area.
Nice hotel. Cute, modern and clean. This was our first time in SF so I was unfamiliar with neighborhoods - i’m also very well traveled and not th nervous type but I did not feel safe in this neighborhood. - what I learned is if you are traveling for work (in that specific area it’s great- if you are traveling to see and enjoy the city DO NOT stay here.
Stylish
This hotel is top notch in style with modern amenities. The only drawback was maybe the pillows and beds could use a re-fresh (a bit lumpy and worn). Also, be prepared to take in the homelessness of the surrounding areas. They have private security which was great. I never felt unsafe, but just be prepared. Thank you to the front desk for the good service!
Short and sweet
My stay was very short but the staff were very accommodating for my entire stay.
great hotel. right on the edge of the tenderloin which right now has a lot of unhoused and users but it’s not that bad. easy to get around. rooftop bar is really really good actually
Beautiful views, cozy bed sheets, and extra star for the bathrobes. Staff were great and even accommodated for an early check in. Excited to stay here again and actually have brunch here.
Great hotel close to nice restaurants and stores but the area adjacent to the hotel is full of homeless and drug users.
Couldn’t check in
The overall property was amazing! The area was a little sketchy being a single traveler it wouldn’t want to walk around at night alone. The rooftop bar was delicious and a perfect view! AC wasn’t working sadly. Overall would maybe consider staying again.
Horrible hotel
Hotel was okay, elevators dirty and horrible location. Won't stay here again. Rooftop bar the wine was $17 for a basic Chardonnay and was about 5 oz.
Comfortabl hotel overall. Although I got a room on the second floor and It got very noisy at night, people yelling, music loud. The neighbourhood known as tenderloin is VERY sketchy. staff looked friendly but weren’t helpful. I asked for towels at midnight, and they told me to go to the front desk to pick them up. The hotel class is a bit miss leading, probably 3*, with very comfy beds and pillows, amazing water pressure. The automated message system to check how the stay is going is not working appropriately, a few requests were made and didn’t provide follow up. I would only repeat this hotel if the price is right.
Nice clean new hotel but the area is bad and the staff aren’t super friendly
Borders the Tenderloin district , which has large numbers of people sleeping in the streets.
The Line was clean, modern and comfortable! I would definitely stay there again!
Love everything about the hotel, just the surrounding area is a little rough.
Hotel is lovely, cool vibe and so convenient to have an Alfreds in the lobby. unfortunately the area it is located in is not so pleasant. I would not recommend walking around by yourself after 6PM or when the sun goes down.
I liked the Newness of the Property. Safe, saw only two ways in and out. The area is a bit? wild, but? I still felt safe, plenty of Security, Police, etc..;) I had a guest with me. They did recommend, that the rooms have a chair to relax in, hooks in the bathrooms to hang towels..etc..little, added touches..;)
the rooftop bar restaurant
Great
The hotel as a building is beautiful but the area isn’t great. Do not turn left out of the hotel, it’s the worst area in the city. I found the male receptionist quite rude and told him he was. He then offered me drinks tokens as a sorry. When I checked in he barely lifted his head to talk to me. However there was a lovely female receptionist. It’s just missing a few tricks that would Make it amazing.
There was practically no customer service at this hotel. I tried to dial down to the desk to ask about room service, after multiple attempts, nobody answered. Then, I looked online and found out the hotel doesn’t even offer food/ room service on Sunday or Monday. I later needed a razor so I called down to the desk again. No answer. When I went downstairs to request a razor in person, I asked the front desk person if the food I was having delivered could please be brought to my room. They agreed. 30 minutes later when my food arrived I called down to confirm the order had arrived and ask if it could please be delivered. They agreed, but never brought it up. When I finally went downstairs to retrieve my order I thought, maybe they’re low on staff. That was not the case, there were three employees sitting around/ chatting at the front desk. Overall I was really disappointed with the customer service at this hotel and wouldn’t recommend the hotel to anyone who is expecting service during their stay.
The hotel is quite nice. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished and comfortable. So the property is nice. But the service was not so good. The checkin staff was curt and standoffish. They texted on our second night to check and we pointed out that our coffee bar was not refreshed for the second day. The staff said they would see what they could do, but they never did check back or fix the the problem. This was after paying like a $35 resort fee per day to pay for such items, and coffee was really the only benefit. The location is on the edge of sketchy, bordering right on the Tenderloin. The area right at the entrance had security keeping things more together, but anything up Market or Turk is not an area to be wandering in the dark. We used Uber at night so we could be dropped off right at the hotel entrance. Lastly, on checkout, the agent could not print out a receipt and said she would email the receipt. None ever arrived, and the billing on our credit card is much higher than expected. So the property and rooms were nice, the service was unacceptable. We probably will not return.
Great stay and beautiful property. The hotel is right in the tenderloin so it’s a bit unsafe and dodgy at times!
This property is truly the worse place I’ve ever stayed at I stayed from 8/31-9/1 and still have not received my deposit back not only that I’ve called the property several times for it and no one was any help I still do not have my deposit and I’ve yet to receive any calls from management regarding the situation according to the person I spoke with this always happens smh do not stay here at all!!! Don’t let the price fool you they are the absolute worse!!!
Excelllent attention and great front desk service
Stylish and comfortable hotel
Heads up
The overall stay was excellent. My only dislike is the $100 per night hold they charge you when you check-in which was not made clear on hotels.com. The hotel stated that they are aware it isn’t made clear but still make you pay the fee or they won’t assign you a room. Yes, the hold is refundable if you don’t break anything, but it’s the principle of the matter. You agree to one price but their are additional fees when you get there. And $100 per night is ridiculous…most hotels charge one flat rate no more than $200. Other than that the bed were very comfy, coffee shop was delicious and customer service was very nice
The hotel itself it beautiful. We stayed on the 10th floor and had great views. Staff was always very attentive and we enjoyed that it was so close to all the major shopping. The interior of the hotel was probably one of the nicest we've stayed in. The only issue we found was the area itself is not perfect. Our room over looked turk street and it could be quite noisey. We never felt unsafe in the area.
Great hotel!
Nice boutique hotel with friendly staff. We were a little disappointed the rooftop bar/restaurant was not available Sunday night and all day Monday. It looked lovely, but we were not able to try it out. The area is a little sketchy. Ok during the day, but I’d be careful going out at night. We never felt unsafe, but we were careful. Very close to a BART station which was a nice perk. We would stay here again.
Good stay
This the third time I have stayed at The Line hotel. Previously I had stayed with my partner for travel and actually spent our recent New Years Eve here. This more recent time I stayed for work purposes. The staff at this hotel always go above and beyond service wise and I know that I am going to get a great room with a soft bed, amazing bathroom, and other lovely amenities. They also have valet parking and always have a security guard posted outside. All of this being said, the neighborhood near the hotel continues to be in decline and I would not recommend it to those with families or those looking for a walkable SF experience. The drug use in the neighborhood is frankly, out of control. This is absolutely NO fault of the hotel and as I person from Los Angeles, I have no issues navigating this but as a smaller woman, I do not walk the streets after dark.
Worst area in SF
This property was very nice. The staff is amazing ! Alex from the hotel staff was very helpful and very friendly! The front desk auditor with the groovy hat was very patient and take our stay more comfortable. The location isn’t the best but the hotel does a great job keeping the premises secure.
Concert at Oracle Park
We stayed at the hotel for a concert at the ballpark. Loved the hotel! The staff were all friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is sketchy but there are security guards on duty. The hotel is very clean, rooms are comfy. The gym is clean and spacious and has a wide variety of equipment to use. I would highly recommend staying here for a trip to San Francisco.
The hotel is perfect and I would love to come back again
Not sure if it was because we're pretty close to the tenderloin here, but there was an instance where we approached by a homeless man who was sitting right outside the hotel that would yell and run at us. But besides that, the hotel itself is suuuper nice and the room is nice as well. It was a nice experience. I liked how their was valet parking where they took care of the parking for us as parking in SF can be a bit stressful.
The building itself is very modern. The rooms were clean, spacious and staff was very friendly and helpful. The area outside of the hotel was a bit sketchy but felt safe overall, there was security outside during night time. Hotel was very close to Union Square so shopping and finding places to eat was a breeze. Easy transportation as well as it was close to the station and bus stops.
Not ideal location, but great customer service
- New and Clean - the bed mattress could be better.
Bad neighborhood, mediocre service
The neighborhood where the Line is, is shockingly bad. You just don’t feel safe even walking down the street. The hotel doesn’t compensate for the experience. The communal space is not cosy, breakfast can only be ordered via a qr code and delivered in 30 mins. The valet parking is $70 and they park your car in a valet across the street that cost you $30. My whole SF stay was fantastic except for the hotel that I was dreading to return to every night.
Elevators are really hard to get to work. Neighborhood a bit sketchy but everywhere in sf is tricky these days
Smooth check in process. Front desk staff great. Friendly staff. Cool hotel. Gorgeous roof top. Solid gym. Kitchen and dining staff either short-staffed or unequipped to handle small orders. An order of yogurt and granola took 30 minutes in the lobby restaurant. I saw the same wait time for the same dish happen to other guests. Food options pretty mid. Yes, the surrounding area is sketchy. Yes, it will be a shock to you if you have never been to the tenderloin. After frequent trips in the area, it's still disheartening.
Super clean, friendly staff. Little hard to find when driving, but overall great experience!
Wonderful property and wonderful staff. Would gladly stay here again, but the area is quite sketchy. Not an area to walk around at night or potentially during the day.
Always accommodating top rated service
A fantastic staycation!
Booked a suite for one night to have a relaxing night away and take advantage of a giant bathtub and it did not disappoint. We were first given a room on the 2nd floor but asked to move higher up so that we’d be in a quieter room further from the street and they were immediately able to accommodate us. Hospitality was extremely helpful and the room service breakfast is something I will dream about having again. Definitely get the bread basket! We will absolutely stay here again.
Timbri Hotel San Francisco, Curio Collection by Hilton | Hotel in San Francisco | Travala.com
Kind of overpriced, not the greatest part of the city, and they could do better by actually having the valet drivers outside next to the valet. At about $70 a day for valet, it feels weird to leave my car just parked there on the side of the street waiting to be picked up by a valet driver somewhere inside the hotel. Still worth checking out if you know your way around the area and which streets to avoid some unwanted characters and their dealings…and the rooftop has great views.
