Nice property, disappointing stay.
Beautiful property, very well maintained. Unfortunately, they choose event guests over overnight guests. Couldn’t eat or drink in the restaurant at various times, poor service because they were busy setting up for an event, well, one server was, three other staff watched him. They reset the event venue in the middle of the night, slamming doors every few minutes. I could go on. They wanted to charge us 25 Euros for a one hour late check out. We had to point out they had neglected to service our room that day before they backed down on the charge. Lots of little reasons to find other accommodation.
Water pressure in the shower was terrible, barely able to rinse shampoo off. Breakfast was was pretty poor and I found the bed uncomfortable, although that's subjective. Friendly staff, but probably wouldn't stay again.
Lovely stay but was woken by a delivery guy and van before 6am, windows must be very thin.
Excellent hotel in cork city. Attentive service very pleasant comfortable clean hotel.
Nice place walking distance to downtown
Great property, just didn’t expect the hill. Wifi strength was in and out from the second floor. Staff were lovely and very friendly, and the breakfast was great!
Great stay
Public areas are gorgeous. Really comfortable bed, quiet rooms and decent bathroom. Staff were fantastic and friendly. Bit of a trek to the city centre though
👍
A very good hotel Very nice rooms and friendly staff
Room heater did not work. Recent stain of middle of carpet. Otherwise good, with easy parking and good location
Didn’t like my room being cold all day! It was already cold outside than come inside for same weather
The property is on a hill so there are great views. The balcony made it really nice. The only thing that could have made the room better would be a refrigerator.
One night at The Address Hotel
Hotel was beautiful, staff were very helpful and friendly and breakfast and dinner was very tasty. Only minor issue that was resolved straight away was no Shower gel, Shampoo or hand wash in the bathroom. All the dispensers were empty. This was very frustrating as only realised once I was in the shower and soaking wet. Duty manager came straight away with replacement bottles. This is an issue with bottles that need to be filled as the staff have not way over k owing how much product is left in the bottle. Anyway as I Said it not effect our lovely stay
Expensive for what you get.
When checking in, the front desk lady was wonderful, very helpful with our questions. Unfortunately, the hotel smelt very strongly of a strange type of perfume or something, and no matter where we went in the hotel we found it hard to get away from. Our room was a bit run down, and not very clean. We did have a good meal at the restaurant, and found the restaurant to be quite fair priced.
Outstanding
Our stay at Address Cork was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. We especially liked Mathias the bar tender who was caring, attentive and kind. Our dinner there was delicious and reasonably priced. The beautiful location on the hill was walkable to restaurants and pubs. At night it was quiet and lovely for a peaceful night’s sleep. The only issue we had was with the intermittent water pressure. We were only there one night so no chance to get it fixed before we left since it was discovered in the morning.
Friendly staff, convenient to our tours and reasonably priced. Good breakfast.
A bit noisy as we were facing the front of the building (2nd floor) and there were delivery trucks coming in and out. The only restaurant choice was at the Address but it was very good and service was excellent. A bit of a walk to downtown Cork.
The staff here was less than courteous. Our room was very warm, hotel does not have any form of air con. When I spoke with the staff about it they laughed and stated to just open the window. I informed them the window had been open for hours but little breeze was able to cool the room. The staff then offered me a very small fan for a deposit of 20€. Each interaction with the front desk staff that worked the evening was far from pleasant to deal with. The restaurant at the hotel has moderate food but for much higher costs than surrounding eateries and pubs. Would not recommend staying here again.
The property was beautiful. It was difficult to walk to it because of the steepness of the streets. Missed our train to Killarney because the taxi we booked took over an hour.
Location and views.
Beautiful hotel at the top of a steep climb
The beds were so comfortable and the shower was great. A beautiful hotel in a quiet neighborhood. Although on Saturday night we could hear the music from the restaurant down the hill when our windows were open. The hotel does not have air conditioning so we had to keep the windows open to keep the room cool. Fortunately we had a sound machine to drown out the music. The breakfast buffet and pizza from the restaurant were tasty but we didn’t care for the other menu selections. Also, the location of the hotel is at the top of a hill and quite the climb from the city if you are walking.
All good. Does 4 star well.
Food was great. Staff was very accommodating. WiFi was very slow. Drinks were decently priced but more on the high end
Excellent. Look out for Don the night porter. A true gem.
This property was absolutely gorgeous! We loved everything, except that our room was directly over the restaurant/bar, and the music was booming until 11:00 pm
Very nicely refurbished, very clean and staff friendly and helpful
Charming
Checking in was a bit comical because our room was on the 3rd floor but the lift only goes to the 2nd floor. This is a charming space in the city in a quiet neighborhood but only a quick walk to town and nearby pubs. The staff is exemplary and Samuel makes a fantastic iced Americano.
Lovely olde building and hotel in good condition beautiful room and bed. The staff were very nice and helpful. Definitely would stay again
A grand style hotel on a hill with beautiful views out over the city. Enjoyed the hospitality of the staff and on site parking was a real plus.
We liked the spacious room and the bed was comfortable, and the view is great! The TV also came with some options. The free parking was also helpful. Only cons: the place is a bit older and shows it in spots (some nooks and crannies in the room were dusty/dirty). Would stay again!
We loved this hotel. The grounds were beautiful, it smelled great, had beautiful flower arrangements in the front entrance and beautiful designs within the hotel. The health club was great and has a sauna. One room was great and the other room had a BM in the toilet and had cobwebs and writing on the bed.
This was a great place. Clean, comfortable bed, quiet, good view, easy parking, good breakfast.
Stunning
Absolutely beautiful stay in a stunning hotel
Room & food very good but noisy
Room and bathroom very good Food excellent but noise was an issue
Would stay here again!
Loved my stay here. Friendly staff, large well-apppinted rooms, 15min walk away from the city centre noise. Free on site parking, good breakfast buffet for purchase.
Lovely hotel, spacious room. Really enjoyed having tea/coffee on the balcony. Restaurant food was wonderful - service a little spotty (they seemed overwhelmed) but great meals regardless
A very comfortable enjoyable stay
One of the reasonsWe booked this hotel was due to its proximity to the railway station . It is near but up a very steep hill. However the hotel is lovely with a large sitting patio area at the front with a great view over Cork. Our room was lovely large and quiet with a very comfortable bed.Again it had a lovely view out over cork.Bathroom is also large with a really powerful shower over the bath.
Upon miscalculating the distance and steep nature of the climb to your beatuful hotel , I arrived at the front desk sweating profusely and mt wife was udergoibg a minor asthmatic attach. Michelle , the lively receptionist, was alarmed and very concerned for my wife . She immediately provided water and assistance. She was great . After shortly recovering we checked in to our lovely room with a balcony and beautiful view...See now why the walk was so steep.(no problem walking down nor back a couple of times with, of course, no luggage later on). The restaurant was well appointed and the food and service were fantastic. Our local waiter (sorry to have forgotten his name) , who has worked there for 8 years made our breakfast and dining experience delightful... Breakfast was great and bountiful . The ribs were as good as southern USA good! Loved our stay at this old classic hotel upon a hillside. A final thanks to Michelle. She constantly asked about our stay and provided great sight seeing advice. Always with a smile. . Hope someday to return to your lovely town and hotel. Next time we will take a taxi (it was very inexpensive ) upon our arrival.
The extra entertainment from the fighting travelers was a fun surprise!
Great old building clean nice comfortable room. Friendly staff
Great old hotel
The Address is a wonderful old grand hotel. Our room was AMAZING! Location was fine for walking to city center and enjoying what Cork has to offer. Wish we had more time to stay longer
Will stay again
Front desk staff tremendously polite and friendly
Will definitely stay again
Staff was very helpful and friendly! Room was spectacular, we stayed in newest wing. Very well situated for walking to restaurants and shopping.
Homely Hotel in Cork.
Really enjoyed staying at this hotel, very homely. Very comfortable. Food in restaurant was excellent too.
A night at The Address
The reception staff were super helpful and friendly House keeping staff lovely Good view of city Lovely sized room Comfortable bed Excellent value for money & we would stay again On site parking with no extra cost:winner.
business trip
business trip. nice walk down into Cork city center because its down hill. Intended to walk back but decided on a taxi instead.
Very nice hotel, clean and convenient.
.
Everything was perfect. Late checkin was accomodated. Staff very nice. Room very nice and extremely comfy bed. Towels changed daily and room cleaned. Highly recomend and will stay again.
It was a lovely property and we enjoyed our stay.
Driving was difficult
Excelellent.
This is a lovely property, but when you look very closely, you see that it is a bit dated and could use a little renovating. The parking is convenient, and it's close to the center of town. However the walk is up a very steep hill, so I wouldn't say it's walkable. The front desk staff was available and helpful, though a bit non-committal when asked to recommend restaurants and bars outside of the hotel.
Relaxing and comfortable
Had a fantastic 3 night stay. Really quiet and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Came away feeling super relaxed and will definitely be back
We stayed here for one night in 10/23. The rooms and bathrooms were huge and clean. It felt like luxurious accommodations in comparison to other places we stayed. The building is situated near the top of a hill with fantastic views of the city. Service was extremely friendly and helpful. The location requires a bit of a walk to get to downtown. Would happily stay here again.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was good. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Not an easy walk to town. Found the windows very draughty which made the room a little cold. The gym was well equipped.
The staff was kinda. The restaurant was to die for! The lobby was beautiful but I feel like the rooms didn’t match up to the rest of the hotel. The room feel a little out dated and there isn’t a lot of walls plugs. The blow dryer blew a fuse in our room and we had to be moved to another room. That room was better, which was appreciated. Our key to our room didn’t work multiple days in a row which was slightly irrational but not that big of a deal. We had no remote and asked for one many nights, never received. The stay was nice but definitely not what I thought it was gonna be.
Beautiful old building with great view of the city.
VERY nice hotel. The breakfasts were excellent. Great staff
4 night stay Military Hill, Cork
My Parents stayed 4 nights at The Address, Military Hill, Cork. They enjoyed their stay due to the quality of the room and the friendly, very helpful staff. It is located near bus routes to get to the city centre which can also be reached in about a 15 minute walk or less. The room was very clean and warm with a kettle also to make tea or coffee. Thank you.
The club room was very large with 10 foot ceilings, well appointed and had a great balcony. Great restaurant on site and free parking.
The Hotel was self sufficient having a restaurant inside with a bar. This made things easy for us considering we had a busy day whilst travelling to get there. Rooms were luxurious and beautifully appointed. Should have organised another day there. The website didn’t do the place justice as the rooms were far better than the pictures shown. Make sure to stay here.
Its a beautiful classic Victorian property with lots of character. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable and clean.
Beautiful view, very hilly so dinner was walkable, but a hike. Breakfast at the hotel was great.
Beautiful property but easy to get lost in the maze like hallways.
Enjoyed panoramic view of Cork, Quiet area -- walked a little after dinner; an enjoyable meal. Definitely worth a return visit.
This is a beautiful property though and the room was wonderful. The restaurant was also fabulous for both dinner and breakfast
Staff was very helpful in finding local food that aren’t touristy
Beautiful hotel, spacious room.
We enjoyed our stay! It was a very cute hotel. Clean and comfortable with nice added touches like robes and slippers. We had a great night of rest here.
Very comfortable.
Very nice stay! Clean excellent food & service!
Quiet, scenic view, comfortable.
Gorgeous property and the room had a big spacious balcony that overlooked the city. This was one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in. The property was freshly renovated but still charming. Upon arrival our room had a bottle of mineral water, bath salts, coffee, tea, etc. The location and staff were also exceptional!
The Address sits on a hill overlooking the east end of Cork. It is convienently positioned a few blocks uphill of the train station (north) and walking distance from the city. We enjoyed walking to fhe city, visiting various pubs, shopping, and travelling to Cobh (Cove) to see theTitanic exhibit, Cobh Historical Museum, Kennedy Park, Colman Cathedral, and catching a bus to go to Blarney Castle, and Blarney Woolen Mill. Currently there is construction at the entrance, but it didn't get in the way. It is an older facility with fairly recent upgrades, but it's not "new" inside. So don't expect a brand new hotel. This place has old charm mixed with or infused with modern touches. The McGettigans Restaurant is unusual and interesting (library setting).
Very nice, attentive staff and beautiful property. Would stay here when in Cork again
A great view of city at dusk from my window
Clean, good location, free parking
Very nice room, clean with city view, and easy to the city center. Breakfast is good. Free parking is a plus.
Very nice room, but shower "curtain" didn't stop water from getting out
Great hotel in a restored building. It sits on top of hill and overlooks the lovely city of Cork. Only downside is having to walk back up the hill after dinner.
The view from your room is great! But that also means you are up a big hill if you are walking, so prepare yourself!
Everything lovely but the lift still not operational. Looking back at reviews, it's been that way for awhile. Room was lovely and staff great.
Beautiful hotel in a historic building near the heart of Cork!
All fine, great view
A disappointing stay
Such a shame, because the hotel could really deliver a fantastic experience in Cork. We were left disappointed. The good: a very nice looking old building, on a hill offering fantastic views over Cork. (on the flipside, it's a rather strenuous 10 mins walk up hill, so we ended up grabbing taxis back from town). There is also reasonable amount of parking on-site. The less good: at a glance the room looked great, but very quickly you start noticing shortcomings. One of our arm chairs was ripped, the wallpaper looked damp, the finishing in the bathroom was poor. A little bit of TLC would make this a really great experience! The bad: Wifi was unusable in the room, complained a few times but clearly this is the state of affairs. We had to go downstairs to the restaurant to connect. We had no water one of the evenings. Things happen, but there was zero communication from the team, really disappointing for a 4* hotel (and for close to 200EUR/night) All in all, we wish this was a different review, the Address could be a fantastic property but it seems let down by how it's managed. What a shame.
The Address is a wonderful spot - big, old, funky bldg and rooms with a great bar and restaurant. Great for walking to shops, bakery, and old neighborhoods. Highly recommend this facility.
Lovely hotel, really enjoyed our stay here. A little walk into town but local pubs and restaurants are nearby. Lovely views from the spacious rooms. Also highly recommend eating at Market Lane - best meal of the trip!
The pictures are deceiving. You get the impression you are really close to the downtown (in the heart of it)…. Not so much! It’s quite the walk and wouldn’t want to do it at night (shady). Hotel was significantly overpriced and front desk staff was a bit rude which was surprising considering how amazingly friendly everyone we came into contact with over our 7 day trip. Quaint, historic and has character/charm. Don’t get fooled by the outdoor pic
great hotel and atmosphere. Location great for an easy walk into Cork, and a great selection of food options near the hotel. we were very happy with our stay
Fabulous
loved That it was close to the downtown and and to some local pubs which we really enjoyed it was a beautiful hotel
The food was ok. Location was good, a bit of a walk. Wait staff friendly.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return!
This was a really nice hotel. Just a heads up though. This hotel isn’t super close to a lot of things and it’s on a bill. Walking up and down the hill became tiring after a while.
The Address is a lovely hotel on a hillside overlooking Cork. The facilities, service and decor were all excellent. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Beautiful view facing Cork City, bright light via large windows, spacious, clean, landscaping beauful, as are very friendly staff! Convenient and easy walk to City Center to cafes, festivals and excellent shopping abound.
The hotel overall was in a cute area and I loved the room itself! The only thing that was hard is the walk to and from the city center because there are lots of hills!
