I was really disappointed with my. Stay on arrival there was construction right outside our room that continued for the next several days. Many of the things we planned were organized properly and the room was just so so For the price. This was not the typical sandals experience we have enjoyed in the past

This is the most relaxing vacation I've been on. My boyfriend and I felt like we had unlimited privacy. we laid on hammocks on the water overnight and laid in the cabanas and weren't bothered. I love how photographers walk around asking if you want your picture taken, I purchased some of them! staff was lovely. I highly recommend making reservations for dinner in advance at the other sandals resort that you can take the bus to, we wanted to go to the steakhouse and they were booked for our last 3 days sadly. amazing trip!!

Loved everything it offers except the Food. All food was cold unless you ordered a burger and fries or a pizza. Breakfast was the worst.

I liked the island cabanas. Staff was unfriendly in most cases. The staff held all the lounge chairs for special customers so we had no were to go to get out of the sun. I would not consider coming back. No real good beach.

Easy to get to, people were great, service was great. Loved Jodiann at the French place, and Dwayne with the dive shack. There was a fav bartender at the beach bar but I can't think of his name.

My husband and I had a great time at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay. Everything was super! The employees were kind, polite, helpful, and friendly all the time. We enjoyed the food, too. We didn’t have a butler on this trip, and we still had a great time. Our room overlooked a garden area with pool and hot tub access. We are already ready to go back for another stay.

This was a great, relaxing, peaceful place to vacation. The staff are so helpful and most greet you with a smile and kind words. There are cats that try to come into your room, if the door is left open. They keep the critters down, so that is nice. Screens on the doors would help, but we will definitely go back!!

The staff could not handle special requests very well. They seemed to be trained to only provide things that were “on the menu” and anything different was difficult for them.

Overall a good place to have a vacation

Well kept, very friendly and clean resort. Dining options very good as was the house wine. If you are short you will need to get steps to get into bed as it is absurdly high. Bedding felt a bit damp. However for us the good points out weighed the bad and we will return. Star attractions for us were the au natural beach and the Japanese restaurant. Service excellent everywhere. We had a room with butler who did as much as we wanted. Hotel does need renovating and food and drink quality not quite up to the hype.

The Staff at this Sandals Resort was beyond OUTSTANDING aside from 2 different situations. They do everything in their power to help you and they are extremely friendly. The only time we saw a difference was our last 2 days with the beach service and the staff in the one restaurant that serves fish and chips I forget the name, they were not all that great when it came to service. The French restaurant was fantastic and we sat to have dinner on our last night and it downpoured so we went to another restaurant and the Hostess from the French restaurant found us and brought us back over now that's what I call SERVICE she was wonderful and a true asset to your company!!!! I had a horrible situation when we arrived realizing I left my fanny pack with my wallet and roughly $550.00 cash, drivers license, credit cards as well as a little medication. I was in a total panic and the Driver "Ray" that picked us up at the airport saved the day! The resort tried to call Spirit but Ray had a friend that worked in Customs I believe and he made a call and they had my stuff and someone from Spirit Airlines had sent it to Customs. I was beside myself and felt like my trip was completely ruined. Ray took the time to drive us back to the airport and walk me all the way to meet his friend in customs and very single thing was in my wallet! Ray I hope they show you this note because I am forever. grateful to you and if it wasn't for you I honestly don't know what I would have done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aneke who cleaned our room was fantastic, the wait staff and bartenders were superb. Two of our dinners were abhorrent because of the wait times to get served our food, but otherwise the food service was good to great. Check in, which should be easy given that we checked in online, took too long and was subpar. the Sandals Club did not make us feel special it too was subpar compared to other club lounges at other 5-star resorts. Lastly, while they were pleasant, the club concierge staff did the minimum with each request. Our dining reservations were better served by the gourmet experience staff not the club concierge. Lastly this resort needs a major renovation, just not up to par with their sister property in Montego Bay...

I loved the fact that it has the private island, even though I didn't stay there, the view from the main land is awesome. The beach is small but vey nice.

Have a a clear understanding of your room type and name. Also, I would request I need new sets of towels daily and request to change bedding every 3 days or more.

The Service, was excellent, the staff work very hard, especially the house keeping department, Evalyn, she kept the room clean, smelling fresh at all times. My experience at the Sandals, was one in a million.

The food was good. Everyone was very helpful and pleasant. Especially devon and judine.

Overall It was nice.

Staff, room, pool options, drinks, and food were amazing! Beach was underwhelming but small separate areas with more privacy available. Entertainment was fantastic. Excursions available on property (snorkeling, hobicats etc) were limited tremendously due to wind conditions almost every day. So that was the only disappointment.

My husband and I did not love our trip. We had to get to the beach by 6:45 am to get a chair with/without an umbrella. Meanwhile, chairs would sit unoccupied for hours without people showing up. At any point, all seats were saved but very few people were actually at the beach. 1 out of 3 staff were friendly and I'd say the other 2 seemed annoyed or gave no reaction to polite requests for drinks at the bar or food. Drinks were over poured. Our masseuse was late. I had to call multiple times to get an explanation. We waited for a half hour to find out if we were even in the right place and if someone was coming for our massage. In 7 nights there was only someone playing at the "Piano Bar" 1 night. Several nights entertainment was over and done by 10 pm (performance and/events). Events and performances for the day were not well communicated. When booking the room we were okay with limited room service, but no one said it was non existent until we got there. We booked an excursion that was cancelled without notice. We only found out when we arrived for the trip. We still had to have it removed from our bill at check out 2 days later. We have gotten way more for our money on pretty much every vacation we've ever been on together or separate. We were so excited because we have heard such great things about Sandals but we felt that returning guests were treated with care while we felt invisible in the lowest tier as first time guests. We will not be returning.

Staff seemed irritated with guests, premium liquor had to be requested and then made to feel “needy” about requesting it. Dinner reservations are supposed to be made on site but only 5:30 time slots available throughout stay so it limited afternoon activities. Beds were extremely uncomfortable and loud if you moved an inch. I haven’t had such terrible sleep in years. Breakfast was minimal, recommended bringing your own power bars/breakfast bars. Lastly, coffee was made to seem like a great amenity, however there was only an automatic self-serve Bunn machine for coffee in the lobby area. Wish I would’ve spent my money somewhere else. Very sad.

Had such a great time here. The hospitality is unmatched. Especially enjoyed hanging out with Travis and the beach bar.

Wonderful resort, amazing service, a bit dated

We had a wonderful time at this resort. I loved the size (not too big, not too small). We loved the restaurants. The water was calm like glass. The resort was a bit dated but that had no effect on our enjoyment. The service was amazing, every single employee was pleasant and responsive. Would 100% return

A slight mix up because of the time we got there and a busy holiday, BUT…. The expedition to make sure My trip and my stay was nothing other than excellent by every department head in the Sandal facility was nothing beneath professional and I would highly recommend to any guest, if. You have an issue. Just speak to someone other that walking away, without. Giving this or any facility a chance to correct it I had a beautiful vacation thank you, no complaints, 2022. Let’s make it normal to speak up and ask questions. Before jumping to conclusions. And not voicing a small issue that can be fixed…..

We had an incredible experience at this resort. Beautiful place and great staff. The only rocky experience was at checkout when we were told we had to spend an allowance on this trip or we would lose it. When we were given the allowance we were misinformed and thought we’d be using it on our next visit. This delay made us miss our ride to the airport and we were late leaving. Everything worked out but it was a very stressful time. Overall, incredible trip and we will be visiting again.

Not a 5 Star experience!

The hotel is very dated and lacks maintenance on things like aircon. The service varies from excellent to slow to non existent. We had issues with our room and complained 3 times, but had no feedback until the day we left. Due to current COVID restrictions the buffet had to be served by a member of staff, which made things awkward and slow. We visited this resort for our friends wedding and it was their company and our group of 20 that made this trip special. Not the resort on its own.

To charge less when there’s construction all over the property

The stay was great the service and the way people would just brush you off was something I didnt like as high paying customers we should be able to get answers on a question as soon as we ask and not be told every time that they will let us know and it takes me checking back with them or a 4 day wait on answers.

Luxury hotel on the beach

The overall experience was nice because weather was cooperating and the ocean was very warm. However, dining experience was not good. All restaurants (with exception of Thai place on private island) serve very simple dishes and French restaurant is below average. The butler service is not working well either.

Close to pool, whirlpool and beach.

Room was close to the pool, whirlpool, and small beach. Food was very good and plentiful in several of the restaurants with nice selections for all appetites. Unfortunately for us, we had a rainy week with rain at some point everyday. Many of the eating areas are outside so continual changes were being made by the staff to locate eating situations to inside areas. This made for a more limited selection of restaurants nightly.

Sandals Royal Caribbean

We’ve stayed at other Sandals and resorts in Jamaica. The staff was not as friendly here and I would suggest they have 1 buffet at dinner time. Restaurant wait times were long if you didn’t get there at 6. Food was good. Room was nice.

One and done

Bar and wait staff generally very friendly (Rohan, Shevoy, Donald, Kevoun, Woop woop). Food unremarkable. Best was the pub, worst was Thai restaurant (food little flavour and service perfunctory). Activities were limited (partially due to weather and lack of guest participation, but other neighboring Sandals resort had more things scheduled). Would recommend one bedroom suites. Beachfront room small and noisy with uncomfortable furniture (only one chair other than desk).. Housekeeping < 10 mins when they showed up (sand tended to accumulate during stay, had to ask for soap, towels, etc., don't bother to use the make up the room light). Club level and concierge a total waste (go for the butler rooms if you want to get into the restaurants requiring reservations). Called room service 4 days but phone was only answered once. Building ice machine not working the whole stay. Had to shag our own bags from bell station because they didn't want to deliver in the rain. Not what I have experienced in first class hotels. Think we'll stick to cruising and full service hotels in future.

Awesome Resort on Beach``

We went for 7 days on our honeymoon and had an amazing experience. Food is amazing, lots of different choices, there is something for everyone! Resort is very clean and rooms are very nice. Staff is very nice and helpful. The beach is very clean and the water is crystal clear. The fact that there is a private island with several beaches was amazing. We didn't leave the resort as really there is no need to when they have everything there! The only negative thing I could say is that we were a little annoyed at some of the on-site vendors that tried to sell us their overpriced items every time we walked by. Other than that, there really isn't anything bad to say, we will definitely go again!

Worth every penny

I was pampered from the minute I got off the plane and escorted to the Sandals Resort Royal. I chose a beach walkout room, and so glad I did, the views were beautiful and was able to have private beach time. I literally had No Worries Mon for my entire stay. Highly recommended.

Once and Done. Disappointing first experience

First time at a Sandals resort and I have to say based on my experience it's extremely overrated. I've stayed at CSA & Couples 4 times and the only thing Sandals has over Couples is food. With the exception of a server on the beach and our waiter at the French restaurant staff was overall unfriendly. when checking out the girl didn't even ask if I had enjoyed my stay. The most ridiculous thing about this resort is the saving of chairs by the butlers. By 8:00 Saturday morning every chair at the main pool had been reserved by butlers. At noon there were a total of 4 people occupying those chairs. Same story on the beach There is also a problem with the birds at the breakfast buffet area. They climb all over the tables and on several occasions I saw them leave droppings, including on myself. It's really an unappetizing and unclean environment to dine in For the price you pay to stay at Sandals I feel there are significantly better options out there

Not the best option in it's catagory.

Room: We stayed in a Beachfront Grande Luxe room. We found it somewhat cramped, dark and smelling of mildew. Grounds: The grounds were beautiful but noise from plane traffic was very disturbing. Food: Generally very good but we were served two poorly prepared diner entrées, a wilted salad and sour red wine. Service: Generally very good but we had to wait 40 minutes for dinner one night and were denied a late check-out. Overall: If you are looking for an all-inclusive, couples-only resort in Jamaica we recommend Couples.

Sandals Royal Carribean

It was Ja-maizin!!! The staff and service were unbelievably accommodating, responsive and warm. Would definitely recommend to everybody!

Nice and relaxing

We had the crystal lagoon walk/swim out with butler service. The resort is small and everything is within walking distance so the butler not really a necessity, however they do arrange meals and save sunbeds so that you get your favourite spot on the beach or around the pool. They also draw you a romantic bath and set up tables with flowers and messages which adds a little extra something to your stay. There are a few pools you can use but these aren't as large as some other resorts we have stayed and there are two swim ups bars. One on the mainland and one on the private island. These are great to use and the bar staff are very friendly and helpful. Sandals no tip policy is strange as most residents are American and used to tipping. Plenty of staff go out of their way for you and not tipping feels awkward. Then there are some things you can tip like the butler and spa and also the piano man (David) who is wonderful but I imagine he misses out on tips because people don't bother carrying money with them due to the no tip policy. Food is good, the portions are not very large but there is nice choice. We didn't bother with wine as these were at extra charge, which seemed pointless as all other drinks are free and included. The crickets are annoying at night and there is no escaping their screaming at night and after a few days you stop noticing as much. The mosquitoes at night are also a problem and I would recommend a good repellent. Expensive but nice.

BEST RESORT EVER

Best resort, best food, best facilities, and the staff!!! If you´re planning your wedding, this resort is the place to be. Excellent service, not to mentioned our wedding planner Sanjee who was the most eficient and loving person. Everything is made by the clock and perfection, the private island, the beaches, the rooms, the restaurants, everything. Looking foward to go back asap!

Clean and Beautiful but needs extra

We just returned from SRC. We had a great time! The grounds are gorgeous the rooms are spacious but we would pay for the upgraded room next time. Now for honesty: We stayed in a poolside villa that was very clean but needed some improvements. We saw a friend's room that was huge and beautiful. They highly recommend the butler but we did fine without one. The grounds are well-manicured. But a few issues included a running toilet, bathroom light that flickered, pool with a couple missing/broken steps and several overly-used, under-stocked public bathrooms. But as soon as we asked, things were fixed. The food is what we were most disappointed with. Not many options and it was all just...ok. Nothing stood out. And in fact that's what we would say about the resort...EXCEPT the private island! It is beautiful, quiet and easily accessed via water taxi. We spent all our days there. Would definitely go back because of the island but want to see what other options exist. Negril is probably next for us. Major pros: proximity to airport, clean, the island. Cons: small, too near the airport (planes overhead literally all day), service is mediocre, food is hard to come by, drink service at the beach is slow and intermittent

Great all-inclusive with excellent food & service

We have vacationed at several all inclusives before, and this resort, although smaller, was above par with the extra attentive service, and excellent restaurants. They did not skimp on anything. The food at or above the quality that good restaurants are in our city, the drinks were made well (not watered down), the selection of liquor was well appointed. The staff really made the trip fun and relaxing! Everyone from our housekeeper to the servers, to the aqua activities people were always accommodating, and seemed to anticipate what you needed next. The warm, fun, spirit of the staff makes the trip more enjoyable than some of the other islands or countries we have traveled. A few highlights... Roberto was a fun dragon captain and also taught us how to sail the hobbiecats, so much so that we took one out everyday! 'Dr. Dre' always made sure you had a great concoction to drink and kept the jokes and humor alive And Akeem always made sure your English pub experience was great Also, the private island was a beautiful highlight. Niiiiiiice!

Dream Honeymoon!

This was our dream honeymoon. We booked Club level at the Sandals Royal Caribbean, even though it was pricey, we believe it was worth it. Our room faced the ocean, so every morning began with a beautiful ocean view. The bathtub on the balcony was a very nice touch. Very romantic indeed.

Too much $$$...

The location of the room 1209 was nice and you had your own pool. Downfall is this room cannot get room service because of the location. There is also no liquor in the room. Only water, juice and soda. Over $600 a night and no room service and no alcohol?? It seems as though they do not have enough waitresses at the Regency Restaurant. I actually felt bad for the number of guests that each waitress had to serve. It took us a very long time to get our food, too. The plus was that the food tasted good. The Eleanor is on point! Great Food and Great atmosphere. The Jerk Shack was delicious!! The Mariner was also great for it's late hours. I was surprised that we didn't have a server on the beach. We always had to go to the pool for drinks. This was also the case at the resort. While playing pool or watching a show we always had to walk away to get the drinks. Also, the cabanas were always reserved. I never even saw anyone in one of the cabanas the entire time at the island beach, but yet it was reserved. I supposed guests that paid for a more expensive room got the cabanas. That was frustrating that you could tell that some received better service. We've stayed at Riu Palace (which was cheaper) and the service and experience was SO MUCH better. We wanted a Royal experience and just didn't quite get that. Felt pretty let down. The people there were great. This is definitely a management issue.

Beautiful resort and the staff was wonderful!

I have been to Jamaica a few times and another Sandals property years ago and I have to say I would definitely return to the Royal Caribbean property. We also drove to both the Sandals Negril and Ochi Beach during our stay and these were also very nice properties. The Sandals operation as a whole really is a well run company. Attentive staff at all three properties, good food and clean facilities. Thanks again for a relaxing trip to Jamaica!!!!

Great Room With a Beach View

This was our honeymoon trip and we stayed for 7 days. The resort is definitely geared towards couples and that was exactly what we wanted. The resort feels very small and cozy. You will not feel like you are at a mega resort swarming with people. The staff at Sandals Royal Caribbean are welcoming, friendly, and extremely hard working. Our room was on the end of the Sandringham building and had a wonderful view of the water and the private island. The beach at Royal Caribbean is great. The natural breakers around that part of Jamaica provide a very pleasant lagoon type beach. The food is wonderful, and the best part is it's all included. Once you arrive at the resort you literally do not have to spend another dime. We had a great time and would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful resortho, great staff!

Visited for 5 days 4 night and it was more than expected. Food was amazing, with the most friendly and helpful staff. Grounds/Rooms were constantly being cleaned and cared for. Bed was a bit hard but that would have to be the absolute ONLY negative thing I have to say about the entire trip. We will be back!

Not as advertised and photographed.

Private Island as advertised with activities and Thai restaurant CLOSED for construction. This is the reason we chose the hotel, for the private island. Brought this to the attention of front desk.. All we got was SORRY. Based on speaking to other couples, one received a 300.00 credit and the other was upgraded on the room.. We got nothing. Our room was not what we thought, based on the pictures on the Expedia and Sandals Sites. We requested smoking room as advertised and NO smoking anywhere but on the bug infested grass.

Excellence in Everything

Everything about our stay at Sandals Royal was perfect. The most friendliest people ever. We have traveled to a lot of countries, Jamaica is number one for the most nice people. Love love love Sandals Royal, can't wait to go back.

Staff make the difference

We normally avoid "all inclusive" resorts as we are very poor users in the sense that we eat and drink with moderation. We prefer quality over quantity. Having said this we enjoy the food with the Eleanor at the top spot, followed by the Bamboo Shack. The Royal Thai was a disaster, but maybe our many years in Thailand have spoiled us. The drinks and cocktails were far too sweet and a more subtle barman would be a good addition to the staff. Coming to the staff we shall mention Robin for all gym activities. Great smile from the 8am muscular wake-up to the afternoon tennis clinic. Thanks Robin. Of course Chico with all his energy and craziness needs a special mention. How can he keep it up all day and night still a mystery. Last but not least Marvin at the marine activities. We could mention many more if only the memory was better, but the staff made our stay very relaxing

The best stay ever.

My husband and I had the best experience ever. My butlers Sherry-Ann and Damion were SUPER amazing. They both made sure that we felt at home and that we had everything we needed during our entire stay. Even upon our departure from the hotel they made sure everything was taken care of and we were on our way safely back to Houston. I will definitely return and recommend this resort to anyone planning to visit Montego Bay. I give this place 2 thumbs up.
