The warmth and hospitality was remarkable . Vegetarian option for main course was very limited . Bad experience at the Bombay club and was reported to the manager at the Sandals royal caribbean. All together the stay was wonderful
The comfort was outstanding. The staff was extremely pleasant. The thing that was most unpleasant was the construction going on during daytime hrs, so very loud and annoying. When you get of a long flight the ladt thing you want is so much noise beneath your balcony while trying to rest. We FINALLY got our room changed after four days of this, to only be moved to room where the bathroom sink was stopped up!
Very friendly staff but the night life was difficult to deal with because of the heat. Even in inside dining the restaurant was uncomfortable. Further, every person who worked there basically offers to get you drugs. Being. Jamaica I understand the concept but felt it inappropriate. Food menu and time wait a hassle in some of the
Amazing beach. Wonderful customer service.
Overall good.
Over all it was an excellent experience. The room could use a touch on maintenance. Some light bulbs burnt out, bathroom fan not working. Maybe invest in some new billiards sticks. But the value was absolutely present in the outstanding food and service. My wife and I are chefs and we couldn't stop taking about how great the meals were. 10 out of 10 for the F&B director and kitchen staff!! We can't say enough how great the private beach was. Some heavy equipment operating for the first 3 days. We understand the need but it was a little less than relaxing with 2 bigs earth movers running around you for most of the day. The house keeping did a fantastic job. There was amazingly no sand in our room, considering we had the honeymoon beach walkout. The room was perfectly located in the center of the resort, it was a trip and fall to the bar and two restaurants. We will very much consider Sandals for all future vacations.
They treated us like true vacationers
Property was very nice. Some staff weren't as friendly as I had hoped. Our room was above Tokyo Joe's, so we could not use our balcony after dinner because of the exhaust fans from the restaurant.
We will never stay at a Sandals resort again - EVER. We discovered we have a superpower .. we are INVISIBLE - the staff and service were absolutely awful - we were definitely on the other side of the hierarchy that is SANDALS. DO NOT STAY HERE
The staff was absolutely amazing and we had the best time ever at our first all inclusive! We booked St Lucia for our anniversary in 2025!
Wonderful staff and very clean rooms
Beautiful resort. Staff was constantly cleaning. 2nd stay at Sandals Montego Bay. Overall, the staff not nearly as warm and welcoming as I recall from 20 years ago, especially the water sports team (Thank goodness for Leon and Macca(sp?), my wife is still raving about her snorkel adventure). Pluses: The beach, food, convenience, Romana Cucina Minuses: Watersports Team, some staff members
The hotel setting was beautiful. The beach and water was just ok. The staff wasn't too friendly and overall we had higher expectations.
Amazing. perfect. Best property in Jamacia by far
Beautiful place
This is not a luxury resort or luxury experience. Luxury swim up suite only included one chair, one luggage holder and no luxury. The duvet had holes. The pillows were flat. Phone service in the room doesn’t always work. Luggage wasn’t picked up from room after 4 calls to front desk. Luggage was left outside at wrong room upon arrival. Don’t expect fresh juice or for all of the menu items to actually be available. Entertainment was sub par. Don’t recommend for price point even if this was a 3 star. Airport is located in the back yard of this location and airplanes take off frequently. Not a crystal blue beach. This is more of a do it yourself resort then staff providing you with service. Quality, Service and up keep of the property are lacking at this flagship resort.
The property itself is pleasing BUT they have an infestation of cats, especially in the Cabin 508 area and Stew Fish Restaurant, which apparently they have no control over. For those that like cats it’s not a problem, but for the ones that don’t, it’s horrific. Also, Oxtail should be a regular on the menu. I tried three restaurants that serves Jamaican dishes and never saw Oxtail on the Menu or even got at any point. Also ALL the restaurants that serve Steak should find a way to soften it more, even if well done, to prevent wastage as its very hard to chew even though tasty. Butch Restaurant for dinner is nice as well as Cucina for breakfast (Ackee and Saltfish). I never made it to Soy (Sushi) or Tokyo Jo, but the restaurants seem nice from the outside. Entertainment at night in the Living Room was nice. Mariner for snack lunch is excellent (Pizza, beef patties, hamburgers, quesadillas, etc). All in all, they did their best to accommodate me and upgraded me from my original room (I do not like cats), which allowed me to have an enjoyable Christmas vacation.
From the room to the staff there has been no disappointment.
Reopening
Front dest staff are amazing. House keeping amazing. Pools- very nice plenty of room. Drink quality- good Service and food quality at Butches is significantly better than others dinner restaurants. This hotel has recently re-opened, most likely why it needs some service fine tuning in some restaurants. Airport is a complete nightmare w covid procedures. Totally inept. 5 stations should be 2 & 3 hours wasted
grat atmosphere, close to the airport, food was decent, beach volleyball was fun, the beach party was more of a show and meet all the staff managers and watch them dance it could have been a better 'party' if they would have kept the music going when they finally got some of the folks out of their chairs. Too bad they spent a ton of time talking about themselves.
Sandals Montego Bay was by far the best vacation location that my wife and I experienced. The scenery; drinks; entertainment; staff; food; beach; tours, I mean everything was excellent.
The majority of the staff were beyond nice. The amenities were good overall. However, the pools were freezing and there were some hot tubs that were not hot. The food was so so for the most part although we thought the sushi restaurant was great. Overall, the property was kept very clean and the only issue we had was that the housekeepers did not do a very diligent job and cleaning the rooms. It was a fun time, the people were great and I would give it 3.75/5 stars.
I like everything about the property, i have a wonderful time with my fiancé, every one at the resort was very friendly. I just have few suggestions please add standard firm pillows to the rooms without the guess have to ask for it just have it in the closet in case of need , those downs pillows are very uncomfortable, I didn’t complain but I couldn’t sleep at all during my stay just because the pillows and please add chicken wings to one of the lunch restaurant, i try the Jamaica wings and they are delicious. Thank you and until next time.
Great sandals location, the staff was excellent and we really enjoyed the variety of restaurants that were on location.
Friendly staff beautiful gardens and balcony was beautiful
The beach was wonderful. The specialty restaurants did not meet expectations. Food was not brought out hot, some dishes were definitely pre made and / or frozen and not warmed through. Mini bar was never restocked. We always had to call for items each day. Again it was nice but for the money I think they could do better. And the place needs renovation and updating. It is very dated. The pool bar pool portion that wraps around the back does not filter well, it’s dirty and unpleasant in that area.
Great resort. Need more Jamaican food for dinner and breakfast.
I absolutely loved everything! The food was great, they offered a variety of restaurants. Activities varied all week, staff was absolutely generous.
From the minute you arrive at Sandals Montego Bay, the view takes your breath away. The entire resort is beautiful and clean. The rooms are updated and kept clean by the staff which include a fully loaded bar. Let me tell you about the staff...wow! Most of the staff at the resort is so pleasant and professional. My wife and I couldn’t believe how nice the staff was. At the Oleander, Kacy Ann was so sweet we went back there 2 nights in a row (also this is probably the best restaurant at the resort). At Butch’s, Robert was so attentive and had so many recommendations on the menu. The bartenders Ackeem and Andrew were a blast, I saw on previous reviews that people complained about the airport being so close but we thought it brought a bit of a uniqueness to the resort. Plus it was nice to see the staff wave at every plane flying out. This resort is a must for couples visiting Jamaica.
Wonderful stay. Excellent hospitality , amenities are plentiful and the food is great. Will surely visit again!
The friendliness of the staff was outstanding but this seems to be commonplace whether in or out of the resort. The flora was meticulously selected and maintained. The rooms were very presentable, upkeep was on point and very clean. Resort layout was spacious and well though out.
Had a wonderful anniversary ~ will definitely book again.
Beautiful resort!! Everyone was so nice. Not pushy at al! We will definitely be going back!
Nice Resort
The resort was exactly what we expected. The Staff was great and accomodating. The food was good. Yes, the airport is close and the planes do make quite a bit of noise when they are taking off, but the atmosphere makes up for that downfall. A great experience.
Weddingmoon
We got married at Sandals resort Montego Bay. The resort is going through remodeling now as of Nov 28th, 2017. When it is done it will be absolutely amazing. I'd love to go back in a year or two. the staff is very nice and friendly and everyone is happy! In Jamaica there are no problems only situations they say. If you want to go relax or get out and do some excursions you will be happy doing both. Bring lots of cash and get ready to party!
Simply the best!!!!!
Unbelievable set-up. 100% in every way. Special praise to the staff who were all amazing with special thanks to Scheviron our butler, Alekio and Ramone who were mad as hatters and kept us all entertained. Food is all of a high standard and the drinks are top shelf. Thank you Sandals and we will see you again soon. Simply the best!
25th Anniversary
My husband and I just got back from the resort and I cannot say enough about how wonderful this place is. Our first room was a little far for me to walk just getting over a broke foot and we asked if there was some way they could change our room and they did. The staff was wonderful!!! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Of course when your there a week you tend to have your favorites. Kayon was one of the ones that really stuck out for us. She helped us with things that were not even in her job description. Eric is one that greeted us when we first got there and we saw him everyday through our trip and also went out of his way to make sure we were taken car of and had a great time. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. I already want to go back!!!
The hotel is a construction zone! You can't hear
I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy for the amount of money close to $6000 for the week this is the worst place to try to find any peace and relaxation let alone romance. If you want to go to sandals try new Negril or Ocho Rios, we ended up moving to the Negril resort and it was so much more peaceful and quiet and enjoyed our trip from there on. Not to mention that Montego Bay resort is literally on the airport it's all along side the runway. It's not just near the airport, it's on the airport property! The other side of the street is the runway! The noise from planes taking off is unbearable!
SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE!!!!!! SLOW AS MOLASSES- went there for my brothers wedding Served seafood to someone with a food allergy- and blamed it on the wedding party. Food was horrendous They had 6 weddings in one day.....pipes broke and the groom or groomsmen couldn't take a shower disorganized, rooms smell like mold- NO top shelf drinks- all frozen drinks are made with mixes not with real ingredients. Not enough umbrellas to accommodate all guests
Controllable and uncontrollable.
My wife and I arrived at Sandals Montego Bay on February 2nd and departing on February 6th, 2017. Our compliments to all of the staff for making our stay as comfortable as possible. This was our first all inclusive and we were pleasantly surprised with the food, beverages and service. We have traveled to several different Islands in the Carribbean. The only reason that I would be reluctant to recommend this resort, is the uncontrolable commercial Airport across the street. This is where you would arrive and depart the Island. During the day, the commercial airlines fly right over the resort countless times. The jet engines are loud enough that your conversation will be disrupted breifly, if you are outside. The air traffic is active from early in the morning to late in the day. Other than the jet noise that we became conditioned to by the last couple days, beautiful resort with great service.
It is a great place with a couple of drawbacks.
Everything was great from the staff to the food to the service to the convenience of everything to the short trip from the airport. That short trip is also a drawback. Planes literally take off behind the resort. I counted at least 25 conversation-stopping take offs a day. They are very loud. I was not really thrilled with the beach. It is a very short ribbon of sand making it a bit crowded with chairs. The Jamaican people were wonderfully friendly, helpful and just fun to be among.
We had a great time! The hotel is doing some remodeling, but it doesn't hinder the experience at all. The staff are very friendly. We went scuba diving for the first time, and loved it.
Good location, but bug bite issues.
Fun place, good for a party atmosphere. We tried to do the romance on the 1st night and we were bitten fairly badly near the water. Inclusive is true, but only for what is available. Trips were really fun but extra, be ready to pay for the fun things/excursions. Fun trip, just don't expect paradise ;)
AWESOME Sandals @ MO BAY, JAMAICA
Landed & greeted by Sandals reps who facilitated our reservation. The bus to the hotel was available immediately so that I didn't have time for the welcome drink! Staff were great. Excellent service whether at the beach, pool, restaurants and trips. One negative for us was the room was frigid. We slept in the bathrobes and used the quilt. The temp of the room could only go to 30 degrees C. We will definitely go back to a Sandals resort. The all inclusive rates is a real positive. It added to the enjoyment factor. Loved the night time entertainment.
Nice staff resort needs work close to airport.
Second time there amazing how much changed, rooms need upgrading and needs work all around. Didn't let that stop us from having a great time. The people working are very nice and make sure your always happy.
Very pleased
Hotel was amazing and stuff super friendly! Food was really good. The room needs remodeling ASAP. Overall it was a great experience.
Perfect wedding destination
We traveled here for our son's wedding. We had never stayed in an all inclusive resort so we didn't know what to expect. Although the price tag was beyond what we would normally spend, we loved our experience. For a once in a life time event it was great!
Great resort. Lots of activities. Awesome staff.
Sandals is the premier Caribbean resort. Loved the pool and swim up bar. Food was good. Evening shows were done well. The nightlife was awesome. One of the largest beaches.
location
We learned to ask for floor prerfence in advance. We are 74 and 75 and were at the END of the complex on the third floor with NO elevator. At least the workout made up for dessert. The overall experience was WONDERFUL
Hotel was nice - weather did not cooperate and not much to do outside the boat trips at hotel. Live music during the day would have been nice. Staff was nice except concierge was a little cold to anything out of the ordinary. Bartenders were great to the pretty girls but rest of staff was great and friendly. Food was good but make your restaurant reservations before you get there. The evening shows were fine but they keep wanting to drag you out to the stage.
Disappointing experience
There are several things which we are disappointed about. The hotel is located literally RIGHT NEXT to the airport and has airplanes flying over it 24 hours a day. Our room was located extremely far from everything and even though it had an ocean view, the room itself differed a lot from the pictures I had based my booking on. The curtains did not work properly and it was difficult to pull them up or down, since you also had a knot to tie. However these are not the main points of our disappointment. We booked a tour to the Bob Marley 9-mile and Dunn's riverfalls. We were told to wait at 8:30am in front of the lobby to be picked up. A delay would have been understandable, but not the fact that nobody showed up!! A joke. And after going to the Sandals guest services office 5 times, clearly annoyed, I was not even offered an apology or a way to make up for this. All we were told is that I could go and book another tour. Completely empathy-less and unprofessional. We were told they had no control of what went on, since the company providing the tour had nothing to do with the hotel. This does not happen at a world-class 5 star hotel, at the very least I would have expected an apology and some sort of complimentary resort service. Also, at the time of booking, we specifically asked not to charge my credit card on file, since we wanted to pay for it in cash. Even though they assured me it wouldnt be, it showed up on my checkout invoice. Later at the front desk I told them that we had not even been on that trip and they told me it had not been charged to the card. Much to my unpleasant surprise, the $220 tour charge showed up on my credit card statement yesterday, IT WAS CHARGED. A few other observations: NOBODY at the hotel gave us a decent recommendation on what to do or where to go. It was like they either didn't know what to recommend or didn't care. And not just talking about tours within the property, but also in Montego Bay. We couldn't believe no one could tell us one place to go see, visit a town, a local square, restaurant, anything. On New Year's Eve, the dinner was over and done with at 9:30pm. At 6pm we called and asked how late was the dinner going until, since we realized everything within SANDALS was done at ridiculously early times...the lady said she did not know and could not give us an answer. When we should up at 9:45pm on NEW YEARS EVE, the buffet was over and the hotel employees were already eating. This was simply unheard of, not just because of the time at which it ended, but because the staff could not give us a straight answer ahead of time so we could organize ourselves. We had to skip dinner and go straight to the party and wait for the buffet to reopen 2.5 hours later. The staff in charge of guests is not up to 5 star standards, everything is tremendoulsy slow and not to the point. No direct, informative answers are ever given.
All talk and no action
The grounds of the hotel, location, and the rooms of the hotel is first class..... you do feel like a million bucks when you check in for an ordinary Joe like me. However, their "Butler Service" was less than desired. The butler greeted us an talked a big game and little to nothing for us..... we waited a whole two days to complain because we arrived in Chriatmas day and we know they are probably short staffed.... so we let it go....hoping that the next day would be better... well, it got worse... to top it off.... the butler told us the dinner reservation that we have is NOT guaranteed?????? I ask her .. why do we bother making a reservation then? .... she had no answer for me. Long story short, my wife and I felt cheated to have paid for "extra butler service" and got nothing but terrible experience. So, we make a complain to the nite general manager Kamar, he was pleasant to deal with and he turn it around for us and made sure that the remainder of our stay was pleasant. Overall I had an ok experience...... I would rather go to Mexico's all inclusive. Steve W
Fantastic stay
This is first time stay at Sandals Montego Bay. All inclusive satisfied me. Dinner, Attraction and outdoor activities was great. Please improve WiFi connection from room if possible. I already booked this hotel next year.
Wonderful experience will come back.
One of the best vacations ever. We will be back. Staff had the best hospitality training I have seen. Food wonderful and the ocean was beautiful. Nothing was overlooked. Everybody happy and professional. I travel extensively and this rates as the top so far.
The hotel was beautiful. The food was delicious; there was a little wait for preparation, but we think it was because the food was fresh. The resort itself was beautiful, the beaches, and the gardens. The staff was beyond exceptional. Our only downside was the construction taking place. The Palms was being renovated. It was slightly noisy, but not overbearing. We just felt bad relaxing on the beachfront and looking up at the construction crew working hard in the blazing sun. Also, we were not notified of the construction taking place. One should also be aware it is right next door to the airport. You do hear and see the jets take off. We felt the hospitality of the staff being so exceptional and the beautiful beachfront, we would go back regardless.
Wonderful hotel and great service
My husband and I spent our anniversary and was very please with the service from airport to hotel and back. We really enjoyed the entertainment and tours provided for our leisure time. We especially loved the beach and the access to relax and enjoy each others company and meet new friends as well. Over-all it was fantastic. We loved it.
Sandals Montego Bay. MUST GO!
This was such an amazing trip and experience. I went with my boyfriend and there were so many things for us to do. We met lots of people from all over the world! Neither of us wanted the trip to end; we did not even get to do everything we had wished. You have the option to go to two other Sandals close by to eat, drink and hang out there for the day with shuttle buses constantly running. Definitely a must go for couples looking to get away and have a good time!
Be exact in everything you want during booking.
My wife and I are both 33 and this was our 1st trip away from the kids in several years. I hate taking the time for reviews so take what I write seriously please. We bought a "walkout level club room" and what we got was not consistent with the picture we were sold. Only a handful of rooms were updated and ours was not one of them (room #1871). We did not have hot water for 2 days, we did not have any running water for 1 day (including the toilet). The food was acceptable. Your typical lunch & breakfast were fine. The "fine dining" was lacking. We made reservations and got all dressed up for the Italian restaurant which turned out to be at best the equivalent of an every day Olive Garden. No matter which place you chose to eat it was clear that "fine dining" had to be S L O W....good grief it took forever to order & eat. The only good part about the trip was the beach activities. This was truly top notch. The beach was CLEAN and there was ample space to where we were not bunched together. The ocean porch lounge beds were a nice touch. The staff was exceptionally nice from the maintenance man up to the club manager. It was also incompetent. The woman who promised us a new room the next day failed to notify reservations of the change and they double booked the room we were supposed to move to. Of course she just happened to not be there the remainder of our trip also. Just don't go. Pick somewhere else and save yourself some money and effort.
Great hotel, but CLOSE to airport
We upgraded to a Sandals from other all inclusive that we have tried in the past and were overall impressed. The food is MUCH better than other AI's. The beach is beautiful, water warm. Pools and rooms are small and a bit outdated, but kept up very well. Beds not super comfortable, but better than other AI's we've been to (RIU, Grand Bahia). Biggest knock on this resort is its proximity to the airport. The planes really are only taking off between 9a-10p or so, so doesn't disrupt your sleep, but does take away a bit from the feeling of being on an island vacation.
Not enough staff for land and water sports.
Just returned from 10 days at Sandals Montego Bay. We enjoyed the beach, activities, shows, food and great staff. Rooms are clean - seem to be recently upgraded (Sea Grapes block). Shower is awkward - Arc shower curtains but with standard straight instead of curved Arc shower rods. Nice fitness centre with windows, various equipment (free weights, mirrors, mats, towels, antiseptic wipes and cold drinking water). However, treadmill touch screens work poorly. Out of 4 tennis courts, only 1 is OK (not great). Cracked playing surfaces, nets are too tight with no way to slacken the tension. They need to keep some cleaning tools at the tennis courts (brooms and squeegee). Water sports are run by knowledgable staff with whom safety comes first. This is excellent! However, they are very under staffed. Every day at noon they close for 2 hour lunch break. REALLY? At noon everyone has to return to beach. By the time they re-open at 2 pm it is often too windy to sail anymore for the rest of the day! The best time for sailing is lost. This limits sailing to maybe 3 hours in morning. If the water sports group had more staff they can stagger their lunch breaks to ensure they are ALWAYS well staffed. Their sports manager needs to fix these short comings (or hire a better sports manager?). This is a game breaker! For these reasons we will likely not return unless they fix these issues. If we recommend this resort to our friends it will be with caveats.
Great hotel near beach
This hotel was amazing. The staff was extremely nice and went out of there way to make sure all our needs were met. Hope to return to this resort soon.
Wonderful winter trip
Wonderful place for an anniversary celebration trip! Beach is very nice and there's always plenty to do. Nice to be able to visit the other 2 Sandals in Montego Bay (shuttle leaves every hour) but we were very happy we chose this one. Make your dinner reservations as soon as you arrive as the times fill up fast.
Beautiful beach and first class resort
We stayed at Sandals Montego Bay from Jan 1 through Jan 4, 2015. The resort is beautiful, we really had a great time. There were many choices for dinner, the Stewfish Grill had fantastic seafood. The Oleander restaurant was perfect. Our waiter Robert made several recommendations, and he was right on target. The food and service were both outstanding. There is a french pastry shop that made great crepes. There were always places to sit and lay down by the pools and by the beach. Great bars, the bartenders always kept another drink coming! The only downside to this resort is it is VERY close to the airport, so planes frequently roar overhead.
Very friendly staff. The gift shop was very nice.
The beach area was kept very clean. The restaurant and bar were only a few steps from the beach. Some afternoons the beach was really crowded and there could have been more lounge chairs. Also not a lot of swim area. We spend most of our days on the beach. At night we really enjoyed the entertainment.
Royalty Service
We arrived in Jamaica tired and hungry. Fortunately the Sandals staff greeted us with their lounge which included food and refreshments, complimentary. Only 10 minutes away from the airport was a plus and check in was smooth as silk. The resort itself is breath taking and staff makes you feel like royalty. The water sports and other out door excursions are easy inquire about and partake. There are serveal restaurants that are sure to please your appetite, we attend a few, lol. In all we had an fantastic and relaxing time, can't wait to go back this New Year's.
Excellent vacation
Really a very beautiful resort. It's outdoor, tropical ambiance is what made it unique. The staff was so friendly and hospitable. Food was great for the most part. Abundance of everything makes the all-inclusive worth it. The concierge was fantastic, tending to all our requests. Very professional. The servers in the restaurants were also so friendly, attentive and professional. The water sports center was pretty good. Equipment was all in great condition. A water tricycle or pedal boats would have made it even more fun. Should have jet skis. Service at the bars and at the beach was awesome. The gym had very nice, updated equipment. Really a 5-star resort all the way. Highly recommend!! We plan to go back :)
Will go again.
Good amenities, good food, helpful and friendly staff.
Had a blast.
Great staff. Excellent food. Upgraded room great surprise. Beach great the only problem was trying to get a lounge chair under beach straw umbrella all reserved. Drinks excellent. Cricketers and O rlander restaurant really good. Would recommend will return.
was for honeymoon first few days everything was shutdown for water events. opened up about half way through. If you want to do anything it cost money. even scuba diving which was to be included
Relax mon....yes that is what is was....relaxing.
We were a little nervous about going to a "chain" resort, but also weighed in the fact that they probably know what they are doing. We thought right, great resort, great staff and great overall experience. The food was varied in style and never got old due to the many options. The staff was more than accommodating and the overall vibe was casual and professional. I recommend the private snorkeling trip that includes a tour of the nearby city. Yes, this is located alongside the runway and the jets take off at a reasonable pace in the afternoon, but that was not a distraction. It was actually fun to watch while floating with a frozen drink in hand. The beach is huge, the grounds are immaculate and with pools and hot tubs thrown in, I can't think of anything we wished were there that wasn't.
a very nice all rounded resort, a tad close to the airport but that's a plus as well as a minus
Fine for vacation, not for a honeymoon
My husband and I came here for our honeymoon. We wanted to relax, be pampered, catered on, and spend romantic one on one time together. None of that really happened. The atmosphere reminded me of a cruise ship or summer camp. The staff, while very nice, is constantly yelling about activities to participate in (beach volleyball, dance contests, water balloon toss), while you are lying on the beach. They don't take no for an answer very easily. For a resort that is about 90% couples on honeymoons or anniversary trips, they don't allow much quiet time. They literally scream so everyone on the beach can hear them. You can have a romantic dinner or couples massage, but must pay extra! The food is awful. Cold, overcooked, bland....we are from NYC so I know this makes us a little snobby in the food department, but in 8 days, we found 4 things we liked. We were told we would get a form to fill out to arrange a breakfast in bed. Never received it. This hardly makes or breaks our trip, but we were constantly getting the impression that the staff was overwhelmed, or understaffed. One night at dinner they forgot to bring us our dessert. Little oversights like this started to add up. It was hardly a miserable experience, but it's not as luxurious as advertised. It's made more disappointing because it was our honeymoon...
Good service
The standard of food I felt could be higher end, great beach, but really close to the airport
We had an excellent honeymoon. Amazing staff, and lots if included activities. Food was great.
Nice stay, rooms small
My husband and i just returned from a 5 night stay in an oceanfront honeymoon club level room. Great view and access to the beach. The room was clean but way too small for the cost. It reminds me of the standard hotel room sizes in New York. We also had what we thought was premium alcohol package in the room which was disappointing and we barely used it.
Beautiful resort on the beach
Beautiful resort, quiet, excellent food and truly commendable service. The staff make the trip extremely pleasant for you and are extremely friendly. Also nice that you get to go to other Sandals resorts on the free shuttle bus, highly recommend this hotel.
JAMAICAN HOSPITALITY
Jamaican hospitality is the best in the Caribbean. Very warm and friendly people. This is truly an "all inclusive" trip. The drinks are exotic (Purple Rain, Miami Vice, etc). The food is excellent. Plenty of fine dining. I had lobster two nights and a most outrageous mussel and broccoli soup. The beach is gorgeous. Sandals has been doing this business for a while at Mo Bay and they have everything down to a science of perfection.
The resort and the staff were amazing. Everyone wants you to enjoy yourself and will go out of their way to make sure that happens. Get past the plane noise from the airport and you will have the time of your life
this is really a great place to vacation
The weather, the surf, the room, the staff and the hotel itself are excellent. I would not ever hesitate to return again to Sandals at Montego Bay. The food in all the restaurants we tried was excellent, and we had a great variety of choices on the menus. Jamaica proved an ideal backdrop to what I can only call one of the finest hotels I have ever visitied.
Resort was even better than expected!
I had previously stayed at two other Sandals so I knew what to expect but this location was even better than I expected. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the resort is very beautiful. It was very close to the airport but I didn't mind the planes flying over at all and didnt really even notice them after the first two days. The private beach was perfect and when we weren't on the beach, we were at the swim up bar, which stays open until about 2 am. Loved this resort and would definitely reccommend!
So nice I would go back twice!
My boyfriend and I loved it there! I'm pregnant and they were very accommodating. Special thanks to Alford, Courtney, Sashana, Leon, Patrick! They treated us like royalty and got a free upgrade.
Very nice couples only resort;good food;nice beach
The service is excelent. Grounds very clean and nice maintained. Rooms are very clean. Staff does a very good job making sure everyone is happy. Food is very good and the drinks are not cheaped prepared.
Superbly hospitable and Friendly Resort
We haven't been to Jamaica in 26 years because of a bad experience. We now love Jamaica! Everything was painless and the staff was overwhelmingly friendly and helpful. Everyone will say they wish the airport wasn't next door but you get use to it fairly quickly. Our room wasn't close to the beach but was quiet and beautiful and we usually stayed at the pool or beach most of the day. I'm sure we'll be going back to this resort again in the future.
Love is all you Need
This was the best trip ever. So much to do so little time. No boring moments. Staff for entertainment Mr. Hartlon and Shane and drinks and food preparation was outstanding. I felt a sense of care in the air and connection to Jamaica.

The hotel and grounds were beautiful/great.
The experience was wonderful. You would be lucky and hard pressed to find a staff (that includes everyone) that treated you better. We liked our room in Seagrapes and all the restaurants, each is good and unique in its own way. They offered a variety of activities and entertainment. We hope to be able to return, maybe with our friends.
Nice hotel with a beautiful beach.
A great escape from a bitterly cold winter. All staff were friendly and accomodating. Nice fitness facility and spa. Plenty of activities or you can just relax.
Perfect getaway
Wonderful food, staff, and beach. Would book this exact trip again in a heartbeat.
Too Loud!!
We just returned from 5 days at Sandals Montego Bay. I had read all the reviews prior to going so I had an idea of what might be a problem when we arrived. When we got to the resort they met us at the bus and said come let me get you checked in- he said I have upgraded you to an ocean front room - I said it is quiet?? he did not answer me......... should have been my 1st clue - we got settled in and wanted to lay down for a nap since we had only gotten 2 hours sleep. Right outside our room was the activity director yelling into the microphone and bumping music - ugghhh this room is not going to work for us - I went to the front desk and waited for 30min for some one to help me - I was told they had no other rooms right then and to come back the next morning and check. This upset me - after paying a lot of $$ for this resort you think the could have done more or at least followed up with us the next day. We stuck it out and stayed in the room it was so loud - right next to the maids closet and at the base of the stairs - so not only do you hear everyone come up and down but the maids stand in front of the door and chat. The resort is right next to the airport and is VERY loud. We took the shuttle over to the Royal Caribbean - it was amazing and quiet!!! We love the private island and everyone was so friendly. They had all the same yummy restaurants and the planes flying overhead did not phase you a bit. If you are torn between the two resorts I hope this helps ;)
Beautiful beach and hotel
Hotel was old but restaurants, beaches, and staff wonderful. Grounds beautiful, food great, but rooms need attention. Mold on mattress, lamp shades, so room smelled moldy. Gift shop very small and pricy. One spray can of Copper Tone $25. U also can't take a nap, because entertainment is to loud. I just wanted to relax, see & hear the ocean. Not @ this hotel, more like spring break for young people. Water sports great, but worst beds of my whole trip.
it was fun
it was fun, I did not like the airport next door and there was no hot water at night but other than that it was a great trip.
Good times in Montego Bay
Loved this resort, lots to do and plenty of beach to enjoy.
Average hotel experience. The hotel has beautiful
The hotel compared to other Caribbean hotels rates average. The
Great staff
Great staff, rooms could be updated especially the bathrooms & all the lighting. All Bars should open earlier.
Very nice place. Planes take off very close to the hotel which is very loud. First all-inclusive I have tried. Food is adequate not at all exceptional. Property is right on the beach with access to a small pool area. Able to do a few water activites or just relax. Probably would try a different sandals to see if there were any newer properties they may have.
Honeymoon @ Sandals Montego Bay Resort
What a wonderful experience it was for my wife and I to spend our honeymoon at the All-Inclusive Sandals Montego Bay Resort. The staff was extremely friendly and customer service oriented throughout our stay. Their goal was to ensure we didn't have a care in the world while we were at the resort and they totally achieved their objective. I would recommend this relaxing but entertaining, adults only, resort to anyone desiring a getaway in which everything thing is taking care of for you and your only task is to enjoy yourself to the fullest. We can't wait to go back again in the coming years! Thank you so much Sandals - Montego Bay!
Excellent all-inclusive resort
Overall, a fabulous getaway if you are looking to enjoy gorgeous surroundings, immaculate water, and relax in the sun. No concern about crime, felt extremely safe the entire time. Planes taking off not a problem for us. Planes are mentioned often in the reviews because the fly directly overhead during takeoff, but it happens for 5-10 seconds 6-8 times a day, maybe. Actually quite novel. Staff were exceptional. The buildings are dated, but this was fine for us - just wanted to relax on the beach!
very nice location
the room was located right on the beach. it has a very nice view through the french doors. it was located on the main beach and very close to the restaurants and near the main activities. housekeeping will clean the rooms at least twice a day and will re stock the fridge daily. the staff was very friendly and outgoing. very pleased with the entire experience.
Great private beach
The hotel was good. Nice beach the food was good. The room was ok but not the greatest. The ac was dripping in the room when we got there but they did fix it right away. The housekeeping service wasn't very good. I had to call them 3 days to find out if they just forgot about my room. I would go to breakfast at 9 am go the beach all day and would come back to get ready for dinner and room was not cleaned by housekeeping. The bathtub in the bathroom would trickle, so when you showered you were standing in water. So don't take long showeres. They try to kee the hotel up to date but you can tell it's older and there were ppl trying to repair stuff the entire time we were there. The room even though it was the grand luxe honeymoon ocean view, was very tiny. About the size of a holiday in express room. I heard some other guests talking about their rooms saying they thought there would be a bath tub and not just a standing shower. The beach was nice and lots of chairs available. You really won't spend much time in the room. The airport is across the street so it's loud when they take off. It's fun to watch them take off while Layin on the beach. Also when I arrived at the airport the hotel couldn't find my booking. They blamed it on Expedia. I had to stand around for about 20 mins while they tried to get it squared away with expedia.
