I liked how friendly the staff was and how they bent over backwards to make me feel welcomed. The first room they booked me in was still dirty, and they had to change my room. They were very apologize a lot and quickly made it right.

A Great Place!

Well, the receptionist was very friendly. It is a pet friendly hotel. With health issues, a ground floor room is very important. I will stay there again on my return trip!

My mother had passed away. We had so much stuff going on. Apparently the wrong dates were booked. We weren’t heading to Minnesota until today, but the date for the booking was yesterday through today. I called the lady and tried to explain to her. She was very unfriendly, unprofessional, not caring, I feel that they just took a vantage of a family Who is going through a very hard time and they would not even budge or make any adjustments . We lost not only a mother/grandmother but $79 plus taxes and all other charges they added on. very unsatisfied

The room was clean and neat and the motel was at the top of the offramp right in I-90. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

We had a quick trip planned to Austin, and found ourselves scrambling for a place to stay that wouldn't break the bank. We wound up here and we'll be back. While it is certainly not fancy, our room was clean and comfortable, we had great service and it met our needs.

Bad bathroom

very nice place feels like home sweet home

So we booked 3 rooms at the Rodeway Inn in Austin MN. We were in town because my husband passed away last November and we had a Celebration of Life Gathering at his family farm in Dexter. Upon arriving at the Rodeway Inn, we got checked in and then went to inspect the rooms. We had to have the Manager come and reclean one of the rooms because it was dirty. The Manager complained. The first night we slept there was awful for one of our rooms. The room that had a king bed in it was down the at one end and the rest of the rooms we had were at the other end. For the three nights that my people were in the King bed room they did not get any sleep at all. The room next door had some residents that very loud and stayed up all night playing loud music and were, obviously, high on crack or meth or whatever they had taken. ALL THREE NIGHTS WERE LIKE THIS FOR MY PEOPLE IN THE KING ROOM. We complained to the manager and she was not accommodating at all. She would not move them to a different room, most likely because they weren’t clean. She told us that they did not do that. We are very very unhappy with the accommodations and felt like we were treated very badly. I would not recommend anyone staying there. It is nothing but a drug haven and the cops in town won’t do anything about it either. The manager was drunk and high as well. Not happy with this place at all. Sorry not sorry.

Lady at the front desk was very rude. I reserved my room through Expedia with the wrong date;(my fault) so I called to see if I could change it and she refused to help me and had the snobbiest attitude. I think she said her name was Dorothy or dilua something that started with a D. The lady that actually checked me in was nice though. She said she had worked there for 16 years she was nice. Bottom of entry way door was rotten and should be replaced.

The tenant lady who checked us in was clearly heavy intoxicated. The room was never cleaned maybe new sheets but food crumbs everywhere and toilet seat was filthy with dried urine and shower never cleaned. White towels possible clean but heavily stained. Thankfully no bed bugs or roaches i could see. I will never be staying here again

At check-in the desk clerk was shouting at a kid sitting at a table in the lobby- acted threatening. I stood outside the door wondering if I should call police. He came to the door and a switch flipped- acted very helpful. I was extremely uncomfortable, but checked in. Tried to explain he was upset about an employee who is drunk & doesn’t do his job. Later while in my room I heard a lot of shouting and commotion outside. Wondered again if I needed to call police. I had to go to the office for towels- was kept standing for 5 or more minutes while the clerk again harangued the kid at the table- then told me he didn’t wait on me right away b/c he “thought I should hear the explanation since I walked in to the previous incident.” I did not feel safe, and the clerk was completely unprofessional. I had booked for 2 nights but did not stay the second night. I asked about a refund for the second night but the clerk wanted my phone number and other information, but then said I would have to call the actual manager about it. I did not feel safe leaving my information so cut my losses. An absolutely horrible experience.

Front desk lady was by far the rudest person we have ever come across. 730 at night and she comes over to our room either drunk or high in front of my kids asking what the hell we are doing because my husband went to wrong room. We were dropping stuff off at our room. She treated us as criminals. Then when we asked her what was the problem she turned around and flicked us off. Next morning asked for management info and she wouldn't give it out she said shes the manager and been there for 14 years. I asked her for a receipt and she asked me why when we paid cash. We checked out like at 630am because she made our experience there the worst.... Very unprofessional.... also the room was dirty, broken ac unit, she gave us a used suave bottle to use for shampoo....

I needed to change my arrival date - spent 2 days trying to call hotel with no answer. I talked to one of your people, they said they would handle it and I would be emailed in 72 hours. There was no email from you. I arrive at hotel, office is closed with no way to reach anyone. I went to another hotel. Please confirm that I was not charged by the Roadway Inn & Suites.

There was a fire. No rooms available and no one told me.

This place is so sketchy and scary! Spend the same amount of money and to go a Super 8 on the other side of town. They double booked the room I was to stay in so they offered to upgrade me to whirlpool suite. I got in that Suite & clearly maintenance was working on the toilet & whirlpool tub as it was filthy dirty and tools everywhere. I went back to the desk to let her know it was not ready for a guest so they moved me to another king bedroom suit-- very large, lots of space, 3 beds -- but the lock on the door did not work, anyone could walk in any time, doors slamming w/loud voices right outside my door until well after 1:00 AM and no noise cancellation - like the walls are paper thin. You could almost talk to the person the next room through the walls. Two TV's - No Remotes so they don't work. The beds in my final room looked like a maid recently put blankets on it but the pillows were all askew like someone just took a nap in the bed 10 minutes ago. I felt I had to keep getting up every hour through the night to check the parking lot to be sure my vehicle was still there and not stolen. Would not stay here again, although one of the Nicer Hotels in town should definitely pouch the front desk staff people here as they are 5 Star all the way, but this hotel is not.

Property was clean and maintained. Older property and run by a private individual. Loved the hospitality, room wasn’t dirty: clean bedding, towels, bathroom. Had its quirks due to its age. Loved being able to pull up to my room and enter right from the lot and not needing to go through a lobby or hallway. Amenities and furniture were on point.

Friendly staff. This property is not deluxe, but clean, quiet place to sleep and recharge for the next step on your journey. Painting renovations underway when we were there indicate that managers are seeking to improve overall appearance.

Rooms were nice but needs to clean. No towels in the rooms. Rooms smells bad and the bedding are not clean. We could've over looked these since we were spending only one night. Front Desk lady was drinking Jack Daniel in thr lobby with a gentleman. She was really disrespect and cursed out a gentleman who is checking. The gentleman left the establishment. She assigned one room n make the key for another room. She kept on speaking to me in spanish. She assumed I was spanish.She also stated that she is scared of us because there are a lot of people. I informed her that was a softball team n we we're there for a tournament. We throws my credit back to me after I asked for a extra room. We rented 4 rooms total for our team.... Shame cuz the room were decent enough to accommodate us. Management needs be aware she was drinking on the job... Maybe she's the owner not sure.... I will never stay there in the future......

Our room was clean and comfortable we spent 4 nights there. Any requests we made were handled with a smile. Oh, Venessa the manager is the best also was gizmo the cat

Disappointed

I feel really bad about leaving a bad review because the people in the office were very nice and friendly. But in all honesty, I have to say our room was not clean, smelled bad and we felt somewhat unsafe.

Does the health department shut down hotels? This place is a health hazard. It smells like flooded moldy trash. There was a burn hole through our comforter. There were wet sheets on the bed, and no mattress pad. The shower handle almost fell off when we tried to turn on the shower. There was a disgusting stained chair in the room. I tried to get a refund when we saw the room but was refused. I’ve never seen anything this disgusting ever.

No towels on room

I checked in at 8:30. The front desk person was frazzled and not helpful. There were no towels in the room. When I called the front desk it sounded like a construction crew. I walked to the office and it was closed. I was not able to get towels.

It was underconstruction when we went there. The lady was almost trying to talk me out of staying even though I had already paid. The blankets were so thin and barely big enough for my husband and I to share. It worked for a place to lay my head down for the night but thats about it.

TRASHY GARBAGE

I WILL NEVER STAY AT THAT GROSS GARBAGE PLACE AGAIN !!! It needs to be condemned, The attendant is very rude, no clean towels, dirty room etc…. WARNING !! If your reading this PLZ DON’T STAY !! You’ll be better off sleeping in the bushes in the snow

Nice place to stay

It is a small property. It’s like an old style motel with individual rooms all on ground level like separate cabins. Fine for me but most people would not like it. Owner/staff was great. Very helpful.

Rodeway was affordable with super comfy beds. Only negative is that the tv was static. That was ok since we were gone most of the day.

Room was clean, but maintenance and repair was poor. Area outside lighting was inoperable or not turned on. No outside lighting including no outside door light.Cold wind whistled through door area. Neighboring room had different visitors coming all night till 3:30 am.

Samantha at the front desk was so friendly and helpful! The room was clean and quiet and the beds were comfortable.

A decent dum

The motel was a dump but the service was decent. My mom has Asthma and can't be near smoke. She got a non-smoking room that smelled horribly of smoke. They were kind enough to offer her another room though

Fool me once

Pretty much a dive. Door was recently repaired from being kicked in and not repainted. Unfinished plaster holes in the wall. Plaster crumbs on the kleenex holder. Won't be staying there again.

Didn’t have a good experience at all first night only had 1 sheet on beds just the one on the mattress was told that they would have housekeeping take care of it the next day,The microwave was greasy there was trash in the waste basket in the bath ,had to request a coffee pot, Overall i would rate this location a -20

You usually get what you pay for, but in this this case I got more. It was the most economical hotel listed, and it exceeded my expectations! 😊

Comfy bed, dirty room they immediately cleaned

Amazing king bed VERY comfy. Room had not been dusted, vacuumed and bathtub and mirror dirty. Coffee maker didn’t work. When we pointed this out to attendant they immediately brought vacuum and cleaning supplies and cleaned room, switched coffee maker for one that worked and gave us cups and coffee supplies that were not in room on our arrival, and they apologized profusely. Had a good nights rest on a very comfy bed

The lady who checked me in was fantastic. Loved the cat who was the office greeter. However, that is all about my experience that was positive. Air conditioner was very noisy but not noisy enough to drown out all the other sounds around me. The guests on my right side kept coming and going in their car at half hour intervals until we’ll after midnight as did several other guests. This was still going on well past midnight. The couple in the room to my left also came and went by car several times during the evening. By midnight they had finally styled into their room and proceeded to have an extended argument which escalated into a physical altercation around 2am. At this point I had not slept at all and was no longer feeling safe so I decided to leave. As I was loading up my car I noticed 3 different people just walking around the parking lot. I stopped at the office to let them know what was going on (I didn’t call from my room as the walls were paper thin and I was afraid of tipping off the fighting couple). There was no one covering the front desk save for the cat. Since I had prepaid, I just left my room key and hit the road. This is the first time I have ever abandoned a room for any reason. Asking to be moved to another room was not an option as There seemed to be unsavory characters everywhere I looked. This place need proper nighttime security to actively police their property at night to ensure the safety of their guests.

The check in person was drunk/high and surly. Kept saying that since it was the weekend it was going to be loud.

No sheets on the bed, no towels in the bathroom, carpet had not been vacuumed, overall very dirty room and the toilet would not flush - there was a broken plunger in the bathroom that barely worked to clear the toilet

Dated and but clean and the desk clerk was really nice and very helpful.

Ancient room needs an upgrade.

The desk clerk was pleasant and after that everything was downhill. Though the room was large, the two beds were covered with a blanket WAY TOO small for the bed. A twin size blanket on a double bed. The television was so faded, lack of contrast, that you couldn't really see. The thermostat was temperamental, too hot, too cold, NO coffee in the room, no breakfast offered. Lack of good lighting.

One night too many

This Rodeway Inn was in need of a overall. Bathroom: no bath mat, no toilet paper, towels ao thin and noy enough, shower curtain was filthy. Sink area: clearly not cleaned, someone shaved and there were little black whiskers all over. Coffee maker: so much dust that we didn't even try to make coffee. TV: would not shut off!!! Checking out: there was no one around. We did get coffee but rolls we couldn't bite into. Threw them away. Will not stay there again and could not in good conscience recommend this location. Wish i would have taken pictures.

Poor cleaning, cigarrete odor on the rooms and a lot of flyes inside the rooms

Room was not clean, Carpet was not vacuumed, urine covering the front of toilet, what appeared to be snot in sink. Beds appeared to have clean sheets. but it was obvious that someone had laid on top of them, comforter was all winkled where someone laid. The thermostat had no cover and was hanging loose from the wall.

CRAZY BAD!!!

This was unreal!!! Checked in, the gentleman who checked us in was housekeeping and didn't know what he was doing. Went to check out the room and then went to dinner. Came back and someone else was in our room!!! The manager was off the wall crazy, saying it wasn't her fault. She put us in another room and it smelled badly of male cat pee. There was a dirty towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. The door barely locked and there was daylight coming in around it. The sink had what looked like toothpaste residue around the knobs. There was a gas or water line running into the room by the air conditioner. The microwave was dirty inside and out, looked like mold on the inside. The only reason we stayed was because we were exhausted from traveling all day.

Customer service was great. Very accommodating for dogs. Room was nice.

It was an easy off the highway motel. Looked a bit sketchy, dingy towels in the room but it’s what you would expect for a $50 room. Sheets were clean, ac worked well....we just wanted a place to crash after being on the road for 12 hours. It’s served it’s purpose but nothing fabulous about it. Check in was a slow process, got a lecture from the desk lady (who was nice enough) about why I should NOT book rooms through orbitz...

Horrible, the fro t desk lady was so druged up I couldnt barely understand her plus her attitude was the worst. She was very rude and basicay .ade us feel like she didnt want to rent out rooms. I really dont know how the owner or manager has anybody working like that were dealing with customers is the main duty.

Don’t believe what you see don’t book in advance

It was disgusting after getting a third room they gave us the managers suite with a hot tub we were told. Upon entering the room it was ice cold heat didn’t work the tub was not a hot tub and was filthy had rings around the inside and filth on the bottom didn’t appear to have been cleaned in months. We left and told them to refund our card will update you on that. We went to AmercInn

The staff is extremely rude...the room had ants in the bed, bathroom fan didn’t work and ceiling in bathroom had holes, the dresser had parts of the drawers missing, breakfast was stale doughnuts and watered down coffee, the staff acts as if you are bothering them, comforter had cigarette burns, and many other things...never again!!!

Disgusting

The hotel rooms were filthy, smelled really bad, maintenance was poor. Bathroom in disrepair etc. Appeared to be pet odors.

Not a $70 room.

Booked this last minute and so paid $70 for a room that was in no way a $70 room. "Full breakfast" was cold cereal, bread items, yogurt selection, and waffles. Two high steps to get into room, felt unsteady. Air con/heating positioned so that it blew up betw the curtains and window, so had to make adjustments for that. Bathroom was small, toilet low - not recommended for people with mobility issues. No soap in bathroom, just packets of shampoo. Front desk help was good. Cleaning crew were gracious about our need for a few extra minutes past check out in the a.m. Fridge worked. Didn't try the mircrowave. Beds were comfy. I'm not sure how this hotel got 5.8 out of 10 -- It sounded better on paper than it proved to be irl. I'm a pretty low maintenance traveler, no need for frills, and even I felt kind of icky about the whole thing. Prob wouldn't have felt so icky if I"d only paid $40, but at $70 I wished I'd ponyed up the extra $20 for the Days Inn instead.

Many Pluses

There were many choices of food for breakfast. The staff was always friendly and helpful and protective of the guests' privacy. Lots of room to park. Very close to Hormel Foods and the Spam Museum and the Hormel Institute. Across the road from the convenient Austin Airport. Very close to East Side Lake. About a mile from Aldi's, Dollar Tree and HY Vee and Perkins. About 1/2 mile from Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Easy to find. Just adjacent to the freeway.

This was a very nice placeWe would recommend this place to anyone. People were friendly, place was clean and comfortable etc. Much better than our stay at Motel 6 in Lakeville which was absolutely terrible

We got there late and despite writing and calling they didn’t have a room prepared, we had to create a fuss to get a room card as “we wouldn’t be going out anyway as it was late” and then had no towels in the room which they knew about apparently. High speed wifi is basically unusually as the signal drops in and out from the room right next to the office. The towels we got were threadbare and had gross brown marks on them. The room was full of flies. I killed three huge flies and removed one bee. Basic supplies. A sachet of shampoo and bar of soap. Nothing else. No tea in the room only coffee. Breakfast is a mini fridge with some bagels in it which is in the office. Door was poorly sealed with huge gaps and the room smelled moldy at first. On the plus side the bed was comfortable and sheets were clean and decent. Hard to recommend though even for a budget place.

Very disappointing. It felt like a sleezy motel than had an investor put some money in it get it to just barely pass a chain brand inspection - although I dont see how it would have passed. The carpets had thick dust marks around each piece of furniture becuase they did not have the correct kind of vacuum. There was a plunger like my dad kept in our basement until it was needed - sitting in the bathroom - big rubber plunger/wooden stick. Although it was not dirty, you could tell it had been used. The rubber around the microwave door had mold in it and the door itself and the inside of the microwave was rusted. There was no seat on the toilet. Thesink and bathtub fixtures had soap build up in them and water spots. The towels were shredding on the edges.the outside of some of the doors had peeling paint and what looked like rotted wood. The "housekeepers" were not presentable. The man looked like he had not washed his hair for a week. The woman looked like she was recently stoned.Why were they cleaning the rooms at 4pm anyway?? The check in person was pleasant but not first quality. She said several times that she did not know what we paid Expedia for the room, but she only got $52. She would only take cash for the pet fee because she wasnt going to pay the credit card fee on a small amount.

It was good

Excellent price but the facility has serious drainage issues. Flies in the room and no swatter. No soap, just shampoo. To be fair there was a really bad storm and the cleaning staff had to take their carts from room to room on the outside of the building.

The manager was rude.Complained that I booked through cOrbitz because she would have to give them 30%. The room had old, dirty carpet sheets looked dingy & slept in. Cigarette burn in mattress pad. Raggedy, dingy towels. Phone was filthy dirty. Open hole covered by grate in floor, oils see dirt.

Ride away from rodeway

The manager is very negative. She preached, upon our arrival, of how terrible her job is and how she works 21 hours a day. She stated if we would have arrived later in the day, she would not even answer the door. The ad stated 24hr check in. After her venting of poor customer service, she asked if we still want a room. Wow! We will never stay @ a rodeway, again. We would rather sleep in a public rest area, verses being treated like we were in the wrong for choosing rodeway for our stay. The company is, obviously in trouble and desperate, to have a manager like that , greeting their guests

The room smelled musty and damp. It took almost a whole bottle of febreze to make it tolerable.

The room i reserved was supposed to be a queen and we got a full. And also NOTHING LIKE PICTURED ON THE WEBSITE!!! I called 1 day prior to resv to check and see if the resv was ok? She said to me, let me get this right you are calling me at 10:30 at night to check on your resv i am sure its there is there anything else i can help you with. And never checked on it for me, thn whn checked in i confronted her there was an issue, she absolutely had NO customer relations!! And refused to give me a refund. First of all i have a screen shot of the actual time it was, it was 10:12, but anyways that doesnt matter, thats your job. I also have a screen shot of the actual picture of the room i actually booked.Then the next day when i asked her for a reciept, she proceeded to huff at me, and never gave me a reciept, said i would get a email from a third party. I have ALWAYS gotten reciepts from the other establishment, via booking through expedia, and never had an issue. The roome were like i stated befor, nothing st all like ouctured on website. And the state that there is a full breakfast, there was only cereal, milk, and orange juice and coffee. I deff WLD NOT RECOMMED THIS CHAIN TO ANYONE, was the worst experience i ever had, all the way around!!!! Will never stay there again!! Terrible experience, and on top of everything else to room was filthy.

Supervisor

They started off by screaming into the phone saying they were closed cussing at me saying GD and Then she come running around the counter screaming and refused to let me check in had to call Hotels.com to get a refund and went to the hotel down the road. All this with a nine year old child present the woman was clearly on some kind of drug.

Property run down. In need of repairs. Very dirty. Towels were stained and dirty. Washcloth could not be used as it was dark grey. Was supposed to be white. I will not stay here again.

Okay if you really need a place to stay in town

Nothing was fancy at this price range but not too much to praise either. Front desk staff was nice and polite. Room's condition and cleanliness was okay as expected. Except for a few flies, spider webs in the room, and bad smell from outside in the middle of the hot summer. The spam factory is near by, so it makes sense. The hotel parking is quite a sketchy place for a family with young children like ours. There are other guests or might be long-term residents, who looks like crack heads lurking around the office area. Some of people might appear to be working at the premise? Nothing happened during our stay but it gave us some concern at first. I'd say it's an affordable place for anyone who wants to stay for couple of days in town, only if you can be okay with a few things i mentioned above.

Find somewhere else

We arrived to a less than warm welcome because the room wasn’t ready at 3pm. The room had an unpleasant musty odour the facilities were extremely basic and showing signs of age and wear and tear. Breakfast wasn’t available at 7am so we made other plans. Wouldn’t recommend this facility except in desperation.

BAD place!

I would NEVER stay there even if it was the last room for 100 miles!! The air conditioner didn't work and all she kept saying no less then maybe 100 times was (it's new)! She didn't care if it worked or not!!

I was looking for a cheap hotel and found it. Got everything I expected. Staff was friendly.

The rooms were dusty and had dead flies in window sill. The linens were yellowed and old. Bedspread had cigarette burns on it and walls had visible dirt on it. The door to room was hard to open and close and you could see light coming in through cracks. The front desk person was very nice but doesn't make up for the poor condition of the property.

Low budget and still not worth it. Sticky carpet, sink would not drain. All in all a dump.

Not Acceptable

Lots of loud parties and hitting walls. Questionable activities going on. Would never stay there again! At least not from Friday to Sunday night.

Though customer service was fine, there were room door locks that were busted, and the inside of our room wasnt clean. Cigarette burns in the blankets, stains, and the bathroom door didnt close. Needless to say, we packed up and went somewhere else for the night.

We couldn’t get the heat to work and the maintenance guy was no help. had trouble with the WiFi. The room looked like it had not been used or cleaned in a while and the towels really needed some OxyClean.

Manager was very nice and helpful. Our toilet wouldn’t flush properly and that was our major inconvenience overnight. Great location if you’re visiting the armory.

Besides being queen, this property is pretty basic. Even for the price.

They did try hard

Its in In the middle of nowhere with nothing around it so if you’re not with the car you’re out of luck also when you can see air and feel the wind blow around above and below the door that’s never a good sign either Snow actually came in the two days we had snow

The worst ever

Was told constantly that my kind of person would not want to stay at the hotel. I finally had to ask the clerk point blank if she wanted me to stay somewhere else. She said because I had a 10 year old dress coat on that I was dressed too nice to like their rooms. Whatever that means. Heat didnt work in my room so I was provided with a 20 dollar space heater to heat the place and I ended up running the hair dryer to heat the place up. Scuffs in walls and overall just dirty. The owner definitely needs to replace their onsite manager. I'm not one to complain but this was the worst service I've experienced ever. I stay in lots of motel 6 entry level hotels all over the state for work and this was by far the worst I have ever experienced. The front office clerk told me half the rooms didnt have heat or electricity. This place should be reported for fair housing violations and the health department should shut it down.

So so place for quick over night stop. You get what you pay for.

The safety, quiet and calm environment. The heating was perfect.

We did not stay. First room given had not been cleaned, TV left on. Second room had no heat and part of floor was slippery wet almost greasy. We chose to go on down the road.

Just by side of the interstate. That’s the only good thing. Breakfast was included. Worst breakfast ever. WiFi was bad and hard to connect. Wouldn’t stay here again .

Room was nice enough, clean, everything worked, parking was good. Bathroom worked well, water pressure good. Checking in was rough, system was apparently down and the front desk worker was about 2 drinks away from being down too. The Continental breakfast might as well not be there. A few slices of bread, a couple bagels, two cereals, coffee, sunny d, and plenty of fruit flies. Maybe just stick with coffee. Ended up leaving without paying because there weren't any staff on site. Left a note and we ended up calling to settle up later. Woman on the phone was very helpful and pleasant. 10/10 for her.

Breakfast had very limited options. Coffee was bad and the lobby smelled of cigarette smoke.
