the place is just 💀💀
The building needs work, floors were slanted, elevator floor was falling apart. To be honest they should be charging less.
This is a good property for safe and rate
I use this hotel to book our clients in. The rate is good, and the hotel is clean and safe.
My room was nicely decorated but there was dirty Q-tips on the floor and my foot got stuck ont something sticky on the floor. Check in staff was nice
Staff was super helpful & the room was clean, super convenient and close to shops/ restaurants
Was first checked into a dirty room, then checked into a room with an outer door that was broken, wouldn’t unlock it at the front desk, when locked out by my son at midnight I went to go through the front and the front desk was… not with the job per say, expound night the front desk literally yelled at me for missing the sign on the door that said not to use after 10 pm
Front desk was never helpful and always told us that it wasn't their department. Always on their phones talking and got upset when asked a question. Housekeepers did not ask us one time in our week there of they could enter our room and clean. I had to ask them for stuff to clean our room and one of the housekeepers got attitude when we asked to use her broom to sweep. Homeless camp right outside our window doing drugs.
It was affordable and clean
To pay a deposit is no good!
There was blood on my bed, the shower head was on the floor when i walked in and the outside was unsafe.
It was clean
Terrible hotel!
A wonderful stay
I had a wonderful stay. There is 24 hours check-in. My flight with Alaska Air was delayed and arrive Ramada about 3 AM. I am very happy that I could check in without problem.
People surrounding place is dangerous
close to train. Bathroom door would not shut because inside paneling was coming off the door. The night time attendant was very nice however the 2 young girls in the morning were arguing and cursing at each other over who would take people to the train station.
nice rooms, quiet and clean
Homeless camp on the back of the property, hotel was old and dingy. Buckets in the hallway to catch leaking water.
The food was extremely poor for brushes. The area was unsafe and unclean.
The staff was very helpful and courteous. The facility is in need of an upgrade. In our room the water in our tub dropped constantly, hair dryer was broken, door to the cabinet that houses the refrigerator would not close and hung open the entire time.
Rsmada Inn
The was rainy and cool. The Ramada was a complete disaster. Shuttle service was terrible. Breakfast was terrible. One of the worst places I have ever stayed. Never again.
The airport shuttle was unavailable so extra $30 for taxi, front door locked 24/7 so we beat on the door in the rain until another person happen to be coming back and let us in. No one at front desk @ 3 in the afternoon. Yelled for help and finally walked behind the desk and down the hall to a back office to find someone to check us in. Room was old and not very clean. Opened the curtains to find a unhoused camp set up in the back of the parking lot. Got woken up @ 3 am to a fight in the camp between 3 people screaming and yelling curse words at each other. Summing it up, sketchy at best, would never return.
2 stars
Shuttle service to train or airport
STAY ANYWHERE ELSE
The staff was horrible to us. Rude, accusatory and turned sarcastic and fake when it was clear they weren’t going to help us. They also were slow in helping. They were sometimes unavailable when we needed re-access to our room because the keys shut us out. One member of the staff even shut down, when asked why the alarm wasn’t shutting off she stopped talking and walked away from one in my party and went back the the lobby and sat there doing nothing refusing to help in any way. She also refused to help any member of our party during the stay for anything. The other main guy whose voice turned fake and sarcastic when not helping us by continually saying “any available remains rooms are in a different classification level” when we went to get the upgrades where were promised while we was present and were told they would be figured out before we got back, he finished helping guests in front of us. They looked at us, raised his hands in the air, stood up and started to back away and said “that’s it i am done for the day and leaving on a good note” then he laughed as if it was a joke but it fell on deaf ears and were were annoyed instead of amused after all the late night problems. Overall their manager who was called in was worse then any other. Continually said it was our fault and prolonged fixing the problem that clearly was a quick fix. All of the rooms we not cleaned. Some even had clearly had someone use the toilet without flushing for us to find. Just gross!
Right next to a homeless camp. Which was in our back window. Dirty rooms. F Breakfast is less than expected for a property of this price.
Was very dirty inside and out
Do not stay here
Disorganized, unfriendly, unprofessional, untrained front desk staff
The room was clean. The bed was very comfortable. Tv remote didn't work. Had to be replaced. Shower height was very low. Hair dryer unit wasn't attached to the wall. Breakfast included was fair. Good coffee tea toast waffles fruit and yogurt. Oatmeal and cereal also available. 🙂
Shower faucet dripping. Wi-Fi not working Door knob installed opposite
Horrible experience. This is a converted motel with rooms that open to the parking lot. The front desk staff were either busy busy with the local gossip or on their cell phones, with the exception of one male staff in the evening who seemed to be concerned. Our window overlooked a homeless camp and if there was no parking available i the front of the hotel, you would have to park back there. At times, it appeared that some homeless individual were inside the grounds of this hotel. We stayed there for 5 nights and had no maid service or room cleaning, even after we asked twice. We had to get our own fresh towels, emptied our trash can twice and had to find supplies to replenish our room. The room was not clean, we found a used coffee filter in the coffee maker upon arrival. For the for the very high rate that we were charged per night, we did not receive any service from the hotel, felt unsafe and was not maintained. On the plus side, it is in a good location for walking downtown.
Not worth the $$
TV never worked. No facial tissue in holder. Beds were comfortable however. Extremely expensive per night but I see that is normal for Anchorage,AK, in the summer. Very, very limited free breakfast choices. Juice machine was broken the first day and limited to 2 choices the following day. Waffle maker had very watery, gummy batter the first day that didn’t make waffles. Adequate waffles the second day. All staff were wonderful, however!
The front door toward the parking lot is slightly open, even though it's locked on the first floor. This makes the room cold
The property was pretty run down. Out phone didn't work. The hair dryer was knocked off the wall.
Property was dirty, exposed wire ran through the metal door to the balcony. Continual problem with intoxicated homeless people and staff would not help, floors were sticky.
Good place for a night over.
Should not have the Ramada name on it. Place is a two star motel.
Owners and staff were very nice and helpful! Rooms were clean and nice.
Looked like they had tried to renovate by themselves without a contractor. Not horrible but not good. I thought ramadas were nice.
Homeless camp right outside our window
Extremely overpriced.
hotel review of Ramada by Wyndham, Anchorage
I do not recommend this hotel. It is an absolute dump. Wyndham should be embarrassed to have their name associated with this place. Dirty, unclean room, and an unsafe location. our room overlooked a homeless encampment.
Ripped off
Back door to parking lot did not fit properly and there was a huge crack along door jam that you could see through. There was a lot of people hanging outside screaming and cursing. Not a good place for kids for sure. After all said and done they charged me another $100 on my card and didn’t even let me know why. Didn’t know until I got home. Would NOT recommend. Wish I had slept in car.
Property is downtown and within walking distance of downtown restaurants and shopping. GREAT customer service by employees, Cyrus and Kylee, they make you feel like you are their only customer.
Stayed 5 nights. Had to ask for housekeeping after 2 nights and were informed “we respect our guest’s privacy so you have to ask.” We’re not informed about this on check-in. Half way through the elevator broke down “indefinitely” and we were on the 3rd floor. Breakfast was sparse; juice machine spewed sideways; no liquid creamer after second morning; coffee weak. The only real positive was politeness of staff.
Had to ask for housekeeping (including pulling trash) and was not informed about this on checkin (stayed 5 nights). Elevator broke down mid-stay “indefinitely.” Breakfast sparse; juice machine spewed juice sideways; no liquid creamer after first 2 days; coffee weak. The only positive was the politeness of staff.
The property was so so. The breakfast was horrible. The yogurt was frozen and curdled. The orange juice was sour/ undrinkable. Tgere was no toilet paper or even a toilet paper dispenser in the room! Come on! That is unacceptable!
Enjoyed a few hours of watching the homeless in their natural habitat. Literally behind the hotel
Love the Staff
For an older motel it was pleasant. The staff are amazing and the breakfast was a nice surprise!
Don’t waste your money here.
The stay was horrible. The windows are paper thin so the first night we heard the freight trains coming and going all night long. The second night, the couple next to us came in (extremely loudly) at 1 am. Then proceeded to fight (yelling and slamming things) until 3:30 when the front desk was called up. I don’t feel that we should have to pay for a second night when we barely got any sleep thanks to the horrible guests next to us
The hotel was dirty and run down.
This place was rough…
I’d give it one more chance
There was a crackhead friend of a guest visiting when we got there, who propositioned my daughter…the acting manager acted immediately by apologizing and escorting the friend off of the premises. We found bedbugs in the beds. The morning front desk clerk was outright rude. There was lots of hot water with excellent pressure!
July 2024. The good: staff is pretty friendly; the location is great, walking distance to downtown and good restaurants. Not good: the standards are very low. One day, a cleaning attendant left a large plastic bag (open) in the middle of the hall on the third floor. My wife and I were there for 4 days. Note on the bathroom mirror said towels/sheets would be changed on day 3 but we could request replacement towels. Room service and towel/sheets exchange didn't happen the whole time we were there. I asked for a towel replacement one morning; that didn't happen either. I ended up going to the desk that evening to retrieve fresh towels. The A/C unit is a stand alone unit that sits in the middle of the floor. It didn't work very well and was LOUD! The breakfast they advertise is: toast, bagels, thawed waffles, some sort of mystery pastry, dry cereal, apples, bananas. Curb appeal is terrible. During this time of year bushes and flowers around Anchorage, including most businesses & hotels, are beautiful; but not at this Ramada - it just looks old, rundown, and anything that was growing at one time are just dried up twigs. It's a bad look. There are quite a few homeless/substance abusers in the area and a number of them were sneaking in to get coffee. The reason they were able to: a broken front door (hard to believe). Finally, its just noisy. The hotel flooring, walls, more are in poor repair. For what this hotel charges/night (July 4th week), I expected a much better experience.
Close to the train station
The room was kept clean. Property looks a bit aged but still kept clean. The staff is very friendly and greet you with a smile. I give the staff 5 stars. Property itself could use some renovation. Very convenient. Close to the Egan center for those taking a bus or a train to Whittier. This hotel provides a free shuttle to and fro downtown which was an overall plus.
Horrible
Awful.
Property was ok, limited internet access, enough to check emails, and read maybe 1 or 2 news articles, u could upgrade for 5.99 , not worth it.
The staff was nice and helpful, but our room was pretty uncomfortable for how expensive the room was. Our beds were small, the air conditioning didn’t work and the room was 80 degrees all night . There is no vent in the bathroom either so the room gets even hotter and steamier after a shower. There was also no bathtub stopper for my kids to take a a bath. They ended up finding us one but it didn’t fit. The air conditioner was so damaged that it shook the bed violently every 10-15 min making us think someone was breaking in the back door. Our key cards kept getting turned off almost everytime we left the hotel we had to go to the desk and get new keycards which sucks when your kids have to pee and there are 10 people checking in. For $300 a night this was a total sham.
Not Returning
The desk engineer was amazing. His crew were wonderful. The door to the balcony was difficult to close. The beds were old and creaky. The overall lodge was ancient and needs to be demolished unless they want to put in lots of $$.
Do not book here.
This property is horrible. Shuttle bus looks like it was just recently acquired out of the junk yard, missing the front bumper, miss matched doors - no visible name on the shuttle... Breakfast was a filthy unkept joke (see picture). There was no restaurant on site as pictures describe. The "room air" was a portable dehumidifier unit - and they frequently failed. Blackout curtains were full of holes. Staff couldn't get the keys made so that you could open your room everyday - we had to get them redone at least 3 times during a 4 night stay. Room service was non-existent. The hallways were never vacuumed. Front desk said, yes, we could open our windows - what they failed to say is that there were no screens in the windows... can't do that with mosquitos. Homeless are very common in this area - I went down to the front desk to get some supplies for the room... around 11:30 at night - front doors were wide open - nobody was at the front desk - I called out several times - no answer... A homeless person was in the entryway getting himself a cup of coffee. The hotel is not secure - anybody could have walked in any time - had access to any floor, the front desk, etc. Wyndam should reassess if their name should be associated with this hotel. It was the worst quality hotel I've stayed in in a very long time.
Place is not updated, hallways, floors not clean. We waited for our shuttle for almost an hour in the airport, and still no one came to pick us up . The receptionist kept on saying, the driver is on his way, give them 5-10mins. That was a joke. Got to the hotel via taxi, our room was not ready, so we waited for more than half an hour.
Would not stay awain. Expedia should have the business update the property pictures and of the rooms.
Not Pleased With this Ramada by Wyndham Hotel
Unfortunately, we had to stay at this hotel for a total of 5 nights spanning over a 2-week period. Many issues were noticed to not be up to standard for a Ramada by Wyndham hotel! Just to mention a few: very slow check in, terrible breakfast if any at all, rooms not very clean, had to replace hair dryer in 2 of the rooms we stayed in, customer service not very helpful, apparent lack of management supervision. Overpriced for value!
A very bad place to stay
we got two rooms two of us in each , one room was fine, one had the air conditioner on full blast, the heater on high, and window open when we walked in. We arrived around 5pm they would not change our room, it was impossible to sleep. I unplugged a/c it would not shut off. I turned thermostat down to lowest, it made no difference. a man walked into my room at 12:30 am to repair something but only apologized for working there as the management does no upkeep. The second night they changed our room to one that we used no a/c or heat it was fine. The manager has never returned my calls, nor given me my money refunded for first night I have spent a lot of time trying to get in touch with the management are never available.
Motel condition with 3-star hotel price
Very old hotel, hallways smells urine. Tiny bathroom without places for anything.
No manager at the property. Response from the front desk is ask twice. Had a problem with the AC (yes in Alaska, windows to not open) in the morning told the front desk about the problem. They said "they would have someone sent up". After we came back about 9 hours latter no changes. When back to front desk part 2 they offered to us to change rooms. After four days without housekeep ( is the new normal) we needed to have the floor swept (no rugs), cups and TP. Again to the front desk, again no problem we will send someone right up and again came back and not a thing done. Yet the hotel for the price is nicely in the center in the downtown area and clean.
Extremely friendly staff
The shuttle van was in horrible condition. Mismatched paint and the doors barely worked. Though, the people who worked there were nice, they were completely clueless regarding customer service. I do not recommend this hotel.
Very bad quality hotel.
Check in slow, only one staff member for a line full of guests and he was not very welcoming. As for the “breakfast” it should be posted that it is a Continental Breakfast and staff should keep up with low supplies. Guests have to ask for multiple items. Coffee in the lobby area only and it was disgusting. Should have coffee and other beverages available in the “dining area. Hot water also in a separate lobby location. Needles to say we would not recommend nor come back to this property.
Our window had no lock on it. Room was cleaned but reflected a lot of damage. Holes in the drapes. Broken furniture. A/c unit was portable and aged. Complimentary breakfast was a joke. Was served 6 to 9am. Coffee was not available until 8 and food was incredibly limited. Muffins were cut in quarters and served. I would not recommend staying here.
Blinds don’t cover the windows. How are you supposed to sleep. Not impressed.
The The only great thing was the shuttle but nothing else was there for us. Will never go back. Paid ahead and reserve a king room. Got there and was told no kings left. Said they’d give money back but did not
Friendly staff We had to move to another room after we settled in. Stool ran.over.
It was good
Not recommended
No service, no towels. Breakfast - horrible
Down town Anchor town always a show outside
Communication was bad about the airport shuttle. Shuttle came and picked up someone who wasn’t me. It took about an hour because of this mishap.
Gross especially for the money
There was a dirty cup in the room. Coffee stains in the sink. The mismatched torn furniture and tiny cheap pillows were bad. The breakfast area was not clean. The microwave was dirty. We tried to communicate this in your hotels.com chat but the chat took so long and kept closing. I'd like to get a partial refund due to the cleanliness.
Embarrassed this is a Ramada by Wyndham!
For being a Ramada by Wyndham, this place is so rundown and terrible. We had to leave the first room since the door would not close properly. The door knob fell off the second room. We were told they would have breakfast & it was shut down. The coffee dispenser was empty & so was the water dispenser. This place is a dump!
There were holes in the curtains and the neighborhood was concerning. The breakfast was also grab and go from Costco.
A two out of five stars at best.
The beds were comfortable and the water and shower were fine but the building was run down, not very clean, and the breakfast was minimal and disorganized - no juice, no knives, no hot water for drinks or instant cereal, the coffee was not located with the breakfast area, etc.
At check-in we were told no rooms were ready yet and asked to sit and wait. Front desk guy then left. Tried again and waited while new front desk lady tried to find a room that was ready. The room we got was across the hall from housekeeping, very noisy the whole time. Our view out the window was the dumpster. The floor and furniture were all beat up. No thermostat, just a fan on the floor blowing cold air, not ideal for Alaska. My wife asked for extra blankets at the front desk, they never came. Lousy experience, spend a few more dollars and go somewhere else.
Non working tv. Dripping tub faucet. Beds have visual low spots when you walk in. Breakfast area not clean. Bad area of town.
Shaddy
Maggie the shuttle driver was the best . The rest of the hotel stay was a bit shady
Room was not cleaned at all . Walked in to no pillow cases the ac unit on the floor . Floors were not swept and mopped . Bath tub has someone’s false lashes in them . Would not recommend! Staff was very rude to other staffing . The guy at the front counter did the best he could making accommodations.
Toilet was not working. Hotel is not in safe area. No fridge in room.
The woman who checked me in was the nicest part about my stay. I got to the room, and it was filthy. Hair from past guests was everywhere. The shower curtain was dirty. The floor hadn’t had a deep clean in ages. There was dust and hair in the corners. I got my soccer slides out so I wouldn’t have to walk on the floor in my bare feet. There was a homeless man sleeping and urinating outside my window, and the train goes by about every hour. I can handle staying at a place that is old as long as it’s maintained. This place is nice t maintained.
Dirty, filthy rundown in what I would call an icky part of town surrounded By the homeless, no where to eat felt unsafe floors in the rooms were filthy regretted this stay very much. The staff was amazing super helpful but everything else about this hotel EWWW
Best last minute stay
This place was amazing. Hotels.com overbooked them. They went around in circles to accommodate and get us a room
No soap in room, disappointing overall
Many things lack
There was no towels and wifi was not working. The shower was for disabilities on a flat floor. Trash box was on a table that looked very dirty.
One night is enough…
Nice woman at the desk, Older motel, that needs work Breakfast included, was sliced bread, stale bagel, apple juice, packets of butter and ketchup TV did not work with remote well. Internet spotty in first floor room near the hotel desk. Workout room dysfunctional. The room and linen were clean.
The hotel is ok, normal wear and tear for a property of this age. Staff was friendly and accomodating, but they had issues with office equipment which resulted in 30min check-in. Breakfast was not existing, only bagels, butter, maple syrup, milk and cereal. Not the safest area, but not horrible either. Train horns all night long.
Was ok
Was very disappointed with the attempted stay. Once arriving, checked in and went to first room. They failed to let me know that there was renovation going on. The first room was very strong with paint fumes. After sitting in the room for about 15 minutes, had a horrible headache. They put me in a second room and same paint smell and started getting nauseous. Had to leave the hotel and pay to stay at another hotel. Was told under the circumstances I would be refunded for my attempted stay. I have reached out 5 different times and was told they did refund but still has not shown on my card. It’s been one month and still not resolved. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Middle class hotel, you pay for what yo get
The location is in a run down part of Anchorage lots of homeless in the area. Hotel no longer has a restaurant nor do they serve a continental breakfast as advertised. Bur the staff was outstanding and accommodating.
