This resort is the best resort ive ever been to. The staff is so nice and accommodateing. The resort is gorgeous. We got the pool access room and i highly recommend that. It was amazing to jump in in the morning and at night. I can't reccomend this place enough. All of Phuket was amazing. We never felt unsafe or out of place. There is a massage place on the beach that we frequented as well. INCREDIBLE

Fantastic child friendly hotel

We had a fantastic stay with our toddler . It was so comfortable and the all inclusive was definitely worth doing as pretty much everything was included. The children’s facilities were great and we would definitely return. Thanks to all the staff

Hotel Beach is not good. Stone everywhere and they are quite sharp. There is construction going on next to hotel. Which make impossible to sleep after 6am. Location is also not great. Spent a lot calling grab every time. I had sea view room. Room is big but very oddly layout of bathroom door. Sliding bathroom caused issues while one person using mirror in the room, other person have to be very careful when open the bathroom door. Breakfast is not good at all. Hotel have Indian food alongside other dish, Didn’t understand the logic of serving same south India food everyday. Naan roti was so bad, you will break your teeth. Was expecting better food from Marriott’s.

It was amazing ! Can't wait to come back

We had a larger room with a pool view. Merlin Beach is a five star for snorkeling. We would go back for that. Staff was great! The resort is kid friendly, so expect it to be noisy. The restaurants are not spectacular for a resort. And the resort feels like a three star trying to be a five star. Nothing high end about the room either with a plastic bath tub, three-four star like furnishing. We had a bad experience where a late check in tried a few time to come through an internal door connecting our rooms at 1am. We felt unsafe that night. It is about an hr and 15min drive from the airport. There is a free hotel shuttles to Patong beach.

Everything was fine, except the “All Inclusive” breakfast was not clear. The paper issued at the lobby stated that the dining options start at 11:00 to 23:00. So, the first 2 days we had to wait to eat, then an associate confirmed. After a brief conversation with another associate he confirmed that we did have the option to have breakfast but the beverages consumption start at 11. Anyway, the experience was good and the whole family was happy.

This is our second time staying here, but this time our holiday consisted of ONLY staying onsite and relaxing, enjoying all the activities and all inclusive package. Staff are amazing and are the reason we will keep coming back - big shout out to Ping Ping from the Beach Grill, Ron and Man from Pool Bar, Milo from Starbucks, Oat Milk from front desk, Jam from housekeeping, and so many more for their incredible hospitality. We hope to be back again every year.

Reoccurring stay at Marriott Merlin Beach due to excellent service and daily cleaning at the most convenient times of the day. Always change of beddings if requested and both hoovering and wash of the floors as a standard

Absolutely fantastic resort! I stayed 5 nights at the end of a 3 week visit to Thailand. I was amazed at the natural beauty of the setting and the beach. The many choices of activities were fantastic. The weather during my stay was mostly cloudy, with occasional breakthroughs of sunlight, but that actually made it easier to enjoy the pool areas and the beach for much longer stretches of time. The dining choices were excellent, and a wide variety of cuisine was available (Thai, Italian, American, etc). I am so glad I took advantage of the dining prepayment option with discount! The breakfast buffet was nothing short of an epicurean fantasy land. Most importantly, the staff were fantastic. I was amazed by the efforts of the staff to always greet me with a smile and a wonderful "Sawadeekaa / Sawadeekop" greeting in Thai! There were quite a few new hires / trainees that were eager to please, and happy to receive compliments and constructive criticism. I was especially amazed by one of the waitstaff at the Italian menu ristorante, DOCG. She was a new hire, and her English language skills were above average. I was travelling and dining alone at this part of my trip, and she was eager to chat a bit with me. I was delighted and impressed by this young lady's demeanor, customer service skills, and absolute positivity in every aspect of her job and personality. Her nickname is MiewMiew. I hope you see her during your visit! Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

Great staff

Stayed here for 8 nights and it was amazing - on par with all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. You have about 4-5 dining options, 2 pools, and the beach. The best part was how friendly and staff were. There’s not much around the resort. Besides that, love my stay.

The place was very well presented, very clean and staff were super helpful and polite. You got options of different restaurants which is great for people who would love to try different food. Laundry and massage prices are high so best to be done outside hotel but overall great experience and will definitely come back again. Thank you so much team

Nice hotel with a private beach and also close to tri trang beach, delicious breakfast

Staff was excellent. Pools need cleaning more frequent, pillows need replacement as some had smell because of humidity. Entire resort needs refurbisment outside to be 5 star resort. Rooms were clean, modern and spacious.Restaurants were nice, food good and staff excellent.

Great hotel .

We enjoyed our stay at the resort . This was our first time in Phuket and staying at this hotel made getting around very easy. The staff were all friendly and the kids club was amazing with activities for the kids everyday.

I liked our room location. Convinient to the restaurants and ekevator. Very clean and all the staff were very courteous and welcoming.

Good hotel, but dark and small rooms and a little bit messy.

We visited in September during monsoon season. We had several days of sunshine to enjoy during our stay. The resort offers several activities on rainy days also. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Pattie greeted us on our arrival and went out of her way to ensure we were welcome. Paollo at the concierge desk was very helpful and had great recommendations for our excursions in Phuket. We purchased the all inclusive package. The restaurants have a seperate all inclusive menu for drinks. The pool bar, the lounge, and the rum shack bar menus are also included in the all inclusive package. We booked a half day trip to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary and a boat tour of the James Bond Island. I highly recommend both.

Amazing property , well maintained

This is the second time we are staying here. From check-in (Mai at the reception), daily room make-up ( May & Aon) , breakfast ( Ammy & team)…. daily happy hour at the pool…. service has been exceptional!! This team has gone above & beyond which has made our holiday memorable! Thank you to all the staff at Marriott Merlin Beach!! We are going to miss your hospitality & will be back again!

Very comfortable hotel. A little out of town, but not a problem. My family was happy. However, we had to prompt them at check-in. The staff was not up to the hotel's rank.

Excellent stay!

Many things are overpriced, though.

Stayed for 3 nights as part of an all-inclusive package in one of their ocean view rooms. Excellent view from the room, quiet too. Great choices of restaurants for dining and drinks. Service at every restaurant was excellent, lovely to have a longer chat to some of the staff like Nina at the Beach Grill. Beach Grill serves a wonderful creme brûlée with fresh mango. Got a deep tissue massage at the Spa as well and slept very well that night. Loved the little touches, such as cleaning staff (Jub) leaving water bottles and glasses on our bedside tables in addition to the kitchen area. Nicely situated on a private reef beach to do snorkeling on site. The resort offers a shuttle if you want to go to Patong Beach but we had everything we needed at the resort so we didn’t use the shuttle in the end.

Little too noisy at swimming pool!

Everything was very comfortable. Only a bit disappointing at swimming pool was that some of the kids are jumping and making a lot of noise and their parents does not care about them. It is not necessary to be vey quiet and some of parents are asking better behavior for their kids.

All the restaurants have great staff and pretty much everyone we ran into. There isn’t too much around the property but a couple of convenient stores. You have to walk down to the Patong beach for a couple miles up and down hill if you want livelier area. However, the resort had a lot of things to do. The beach was ok during high tide but when low tide hits, you can see a lot of the corrals and what you would have been walking into if it was high tide. The sand felt rough and the waves were strong in July. But it’s probably because of the season. Overall, we enjoyed the resort and the pools were amazing!

The resort was awesome…the pools were clean n the staff were excellent and always friendly. High remarks for Nang who cleaned daily wonderfully and for Polla who was marvelous concierge who arranged most of our excursions n transportation. Thank you

Highly recommend

The best hotel stay experience so far in Thailand.

Pros - Excellent check in service with yummy tea and ice cold towels that smelt of Jasmine. Taxi station right out the front of the hotel. Great pools with lots of pool noodles/balls/flotation devices. Clean and modern rooms. AMAZING staff, especially at the Merchant Kitchen which was our favourite. The buffets and food was good with different themes each night. All inclusive options. Cheap washing and massages on the beach. Lots of things to do on their daily activities list. The place felt like home which is rare for a hotel. Fun things for the kids to do with ping pong tables and pool tables etc. My son had an upset tummy for 24 hours and the staff were so thoughtful in helping him. The manager (Ninlanee) personally walked me to the pharmacy a short walk away and ensured I didn't get ripped off (they tried). Patty and Jeab were also amazing with my son and I was very grateful. My son recovered quickly and we were able to continue having a great time. Cons - The hallways leading to the rooms are old and outdated, doesn't have the 5 star feel and lets the rest of the hotel down. The floors of the hallways are not smooth which means the room service trolleys and baggage makes a loud noise going across it, woke us up many times. Otherwise there were no problems with sound. The facilities such as teen room, pool tables etc are not in good shape & in need of refurbishment or replacement. In summary - We absolutely loved the place, made a few friends, and cannot wait to return!

The staff make this hotel, they are all so friendly and helpful. Marriot do focus a little too much on money though and we feel this does them out of business which, is theirs to have. We and many other giests were walking back in with bags full of groceries. And this was after we had taken a taxi every night to get food and thats because the cost per person at the hotel for upgraded board was nowhere near sensible.

All of the staff were very kind, courteous, and helpful. Excellent customer service. Very well maintained pools and grounds. The breakfast buffet at merchant and Thai restaurant had great food. The beach was well maintained. Ceviche that my husband ordered from beach grill was partially frozen and a buffet at the same place the next night had a great selection of food…that had clearly been sitting out for a few hours by the time we sat down to eat around 8:30pm. I think they filled the buffet right at opening and never replenished it. That was extremely disappointing. If you advertise a buffet until 10:30, the food should be freshly prepared more than just at opening. I don’t want to blame the property because it could have been a few factors, but I spent a week in northern Thailand before going to the marriot and I didn’t have any stomach issues until eating nothing but the food and drinks at marriot for 24 hours. I spent half a day running to the toilet. My husband’s stomach hurt after eating the partially frozen food at beach grill. It is possible that the drink I had at the pool got some water in it or that I didn’t wash my hands well enough at the pool bathroom because there was no hot water. But, I ate street food in another province without issues, so do with that information what you will.

A great place to stay

We had the best stay at Marriott Merlin Beach . We stay 9 nights , and have nothing to complain at all. The resort is big , but never feel crowded. Staff is amazing, the pools are huge . The food options are great . Lots of activities for kids , and great attention to details all the way. It’s only a short drive to Patong , which is nice to be away from the crowd … We will defo be back . Thank you !

Everything about the resort has been nothing short of amazing. The views are breathtaking, the beach is beautiful, and the staff are extremely kind. There are three pool areas, which are all unique and fun in their own ways. The property is well maintained and clean. This is a place that I will be coming back to in my next trip to Thailand!

Good property for family travellers

The staff was very friendly an accommodating.

The property is nice, however, I didn’t like how far it seemed from everything. They had a dedicated taxi stand across the street that charged 250B to take you to Patong Beach and a shuttle that charged 100B/person. If you don’t plan to leave the property - it’s perfect. Away from everything, quiet and not a lot of foot/vehicle traffic.

The staff here made the place amazing. Everyone is attentive and it’s very easy to get things done. Lots of restaurant options - loved Thai Pantry and pool bar was great. They should make the pool bar area adults only though - there were kids jumping off the pool bar seats etc. Would highly recommend this place!

Clean resort with everything you need as a family! Restaurants are fully equipped with different variety of dishes and there are tons of activities at the resort to fill your days.

Property was nice, staff and service fantastic. Room was clean but not much of a pool view as described. The room we had was next to the main road so quite noisy, breakfast was reasonable but with limited choice of food, the food was cold and not very well executed, for me the lack of insect control was an issue, flies etc crawling over exposed food not what I would expect from a 5 star establishment. Also the western food that was available at breakfast and say from the lounge again was poorly cooked and not very well executed quite disappointing.

I like how the resort combines with nature to provide a tranquil and comfortable environment for customers to stay. The food is also very good. The facilities and activities offered are thoughtful for different customers to enjoy as well.

Absolute wonderful stay. Such lovely staff always made us feel at home. Fun pools and great adult happy hour. Meals were fresh .. be sure to include breakfast during your visit. We highly recommend!!

I was not impressed with the food at the property. The breakfast was cold and poorly organized. While I was satisfied with the room, the noise from the neighboring rooms was disruptive, as the walls seemed extremely thin, making it feel like I was sharing a room with my neighbors.

Must Stay

We've never been to Phuket, so this was our first time staying here and we were amazed of quality this resort provided. Staff all around were super friendly and grew connections with several employees! Sad to leave them. Rooms are spacious for 2, food was amazing, and drinks were top notch! I 100% recommend the all inclusive package! You get a menu of whats included. I was honestly surprised they use middle- high end quality liquors in all their drinks unlike other all inclusive resorts I've been. They do provide free shuttle service to Patong Beach/Bangla Rd in the early day and charge for a low cost for the later day and night. They have a beautiful private beach to sit or hang out with several beach chairs. They did have i believe 3 large pools. We just stayed in the bar pool to keep hydrated! We would 100% stay again and would recommend it to all my friends who want to travel to Patong Phuket.

Booked for bed and breakfast, got there was told we were room only. Couldn't be bothered to argue after all the travel. Checked out asked why we hadn't had our breakfasts? When I told them I wanted a refund as you could see we had 10days with no breakfast. No chance

Overall the resort is fantastic. But no real choices for restaurants within walking distance. No big deal taxis are always outside.

1) Sewage in toilet not working well Took 10 minutes for water to subside after bathing each time. 2) TV has only sound but no visual display. 3) Food just average. Good point: Drinking water dispensers around hotel.

Beautiful resort, staff are friendly, polite, professional and helpful. The resort has the private beach access but quite rocky (but also still can swim and do snorkel). So many activities to catch up whole day and everyday. Happy hour applied to many resort's bars from the afternoon daily. The resort is 15 mins drive from Patong main area. You need transports to travel between hotel to other places (highly reccommened to rent a car or motorbike as taxi services are expensive).

The Phuket Marriott Merlin Beach staff welcomed us with kindness and warmth, setting the tone for a delightful vacation. The hotel offered free classes, one of which was "Living the Thai Way" which provided language tips and insights into Thai culture that made our stay even more meaningful. The proximity to Patong provided convenience without sacrificing the tranquility we sought, making it the ideal retreat. For us, an oceanfront room was well worth the cost. It was a quiet, serene, and healing stay. The breakfast buffet was great, offering Thai, American, and a variety of other flavors to please every palate. Both the Beach Grill and Merchant Kitchen offered buffet breakfasts. We found ourselves drawn to the serene ambiance and ocean views of the Beach Grill, despite the Merchant Kitchen boasting a larger selection. The promise of excellent snorkeling at Merlin Beach, tide permitting, was a major draw for us. Exploring the underwater world just steps from our hotel was exactly what we were looking for. The hotel offered complimentary kayaks and snorkel gear, though we opted to swim and snorkel with good-quality swim goggles and skipped the hotel gear. We were a little concerned about the potential for jellyfish and sea snakes, but the jellies were easily avoided and we didn't see any sea snakes. While we initially booked some excursions independently, we soon discovered the ease of arranging activities through the hotel, with minimal cost difference. 5 shining stars!

Had a superb family holiday and we were looked after superbly by the wonderful staff. The snorkeling beach was amazing.

the food was so bad

My wife and I stayed at the resort for our honeymoon and we couldn't of been happier with out choice of resort. We had a ocean view room which had a great view. The resort has three great pools, with a good amount of sunbeds. The all inclusive pacakge is a must if you plan to mostly eat and drink at the resort like we did. The inclusive drink list has a good variety including cocktails. In terms of eating you are not limited by choice of restaurant as all restaurants are included in the package, with only a few high price items having a surcharge. Nina from the food and beverage team was amazing and organised a magical final dinner on the beach for us, which was incredible. Could not recommend this resort more.

Very nice resort hotel located on its own private bay. Great for families and there were lots of kids. Although I enjoyed this resort very much I would of rather stayed in Patong. I was here to see Phuket area. I was traveling with another adult so the kid part I could of done without but not that I don't like kids! We did get a stomach bug and was down for over 24 hrs. I don't think it was the food but probably the kids. The rooms were big and spacious. They do have craft beers. They provide for a fee transportation to town but taxis are easily obtainable.

Exactly what I needed for some rest and recuperation. Great food, snorkling and pool. Highly recommend to recharge your batteries. I look forward to the next visit.
