Customer service could be a lot better but the hotel was Okay & clean.

Everything was good

Checked out early because of the poor conditions.

Booked this hotel because it was close to the Lackland Air Force base. Worst experience ever the floor was dirty and disgusting. The bathroom wasn’t fit to shower in the water was cold and we had to clean it out before showering. There are no amenities. Customer service was great they just need to up grade not to mention the 32 inch tv

Very friendly, courteous, affordable. Only thing that could be better is the beds sheets were bit strained and chair was missing arem cushions. However for the price totally understandable

Bathroom ceiling and walls rotten falling apart. Dog poop on room entry threshold. Did not make up room or leave fresh towels. Homeless people hovering around hotel. Extremely loud highway noise.

Still not worth the price.

There were two light switches that did nothing. The outlet on one side of the bed had no power. There was no remote for the TV. The towels were thread bare. There was an ironing board but no iron. One pillow was rock hard, another was barely a pillow.

Had to slam the door shut several times before it closed, the guests staying there looks very shady and we would always smell weed around the area and guests alway just outside the area parking lot stairs late at night. Definitely affordable and convenient just didn’t feel secure.

Easy access to all destinations.

It is in a very shady area, our room was dirty from the get go, someone had left stuff in our room,so they didnt clean it. We saw a roach come out of nowhere, they gave us a new room,no discount no empathy, very scary situation traveling with kids

Room was very clean! Has a fridge AND freezer. Bed was comfy. Not sure about any amenities aside from wifi (which works perfectly). Overall I was very happy with my stay and you cant beat the price. A couple small negatives...every towel in my room was stained. For the price of the room Id call that a minor inconvenience I solved for $8. The surrounding neighborhood has seen better days, but that seems to be the case for everything surrounding the bases. If I find myself in the area again I'd stay here no question

Initially while trying to check into my room, the room wasn't ready and waiting at least half an hour to get settled in. While trying to settle down, we found out that the heater didn't work and there was some filth in the mini fridge. I was able to get is switched to another room that was more accommodating and a bit cleaner. Staff was very nice and accommodating, the overall facility is not exactly up to par, but good if you need something cheap for the night if you're passing through.

Shower did not drain, shower mixing valve was backwards, hot setting gets cold water and cold gets hot water, shower head was blocked internally where there was barely any water coming out. Room was hot so beds were hot, took long to cool where you were comfortable. Basically very poor maintenance based on my room. I should book sooner so I can get better hotel.

Shower didn’t work so we had to take a shower next door in a room they had rented out for an hour (what do you think was going on there?) and wasn't yet cleaned. I told my wife and 3 y.o. daughter don't touch anything. If i would have done my due diligence, i would never had stayed there. Worst room i have ever rented and will have nightmares for the rest of my life because of it. Will NEVER STAY AT A OYO HOTEL EVER AGAIN

No dead bold locks on doors. Lights didn’t work in the room.

Room had a smell bed / sofa cover covered in wholes from smokers. To top it I have to leave by 7am due to there little friend (Mice). At that point it got locked in the restroom & packed turned key in & got my deposit. #STAYWAY!!!

Covenant place to get food around near by areas without getting on the interstate for the price of this hotel we can’t complain we enjoyed it

Great place you won’t regret

The front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious, well organized and above everything CLEAN. Linen was also clean and smelled fresh. Will definitely be staying there again.

The staff really rude

The hotel staff was very kind and understanding to my early arrival. The hotel room was a disappointment due to the burn marks on the bed, trash still in the bathroom, and the tub lining was peeling. The deadbolt was completely missing, there was sealant around the lock and the door was bowed in at the bottom.

When we was very what's what I saw on the web and when I saw in person it was a different then the room was. AAC10 had no buttons to turn on. There was water in the bathroom around the toilet all running to the outside. Toilet paper we had to go ask We had to go get towels as well too.And then the woman was pretty upset.Because when we asked for those items set a housekeeper should have put all that out there So I wasn't satisfied with the service.

Staff is extremely nice. They went out of their way to ensure we had all we needed. Pool and room was clean, had towels etc.

A lot of homeless people around. Refrigerator didnt work at first. The room a/c was off and was extremely hot and even when the a/c was on it was subpar.

0/10 Most horrible experience. Took forever to check in even though I had a reservation. Changed rooms three times. Dirty towels, dirty showers, dirty sheets, broken doors, bugs and mold. Moved rooms 3 times. Not a safe environment. Man at the front desk asked for my drivers license and didn’t want to give it back and told me to come back the next morning to get it back. Asked for a refund after almost changing rooms for the 4th time I was denied several times. When demanded a refund the man at the front desk eventually “gave me a refund” and printed out my receipt told me I would see it back in my account in 5 days. Still to this day I haven’t received the money back. HORRIBLE

An Excellent Stop for Us

We often stay at a “budget” hotel and in that sphere, we were very pleased with this stay. In our sequence of priorities, this was an excellent hotel. Clean and comfortable beds, new refrigerator, new microwave, with excellent and congenial staff service and responsiveness.

Friendly and Attentive Staff, Check-in was easy, Gave excellent directions to dining establishments. We needed a clean safe place to sleep and are very satisfied with our stay. Price was more than affordable and hotel suited our needs.

A very congested area of town near the entrance of Lackland AFB. The staff was excellent, the price was right, but the hotel itself is aging. The rooms are in better condition than the street view.

Its was nice for the price i paid me and the kids slept well. It was more than 10 mins away from everything we wanted to do but that meant it was quieter no breakfast and the pool was outdoors.staff was friendly

The Staff Especially Ms. Eume’s attentive attention to detail

The staff/owners were very sweet and kind. I arrived extremely early and wasn't charged an extra fee which I truly appreciated. My room was clean and I was so happy it smelled clean. No cigarettes' or funky smells. I've seen other reviews claiming floors were dirty don't walk around with white socks or bare feet they'll get dirty. I didn't have this problem. My socks were still white and floors felt clean on my bare feet after a shower. Beds were comfortable enough and bedding was nice and clean. I loved that there was a fridge and microwave as well and iron & board. My only issue was the surrounding area and some of the people hanging around the outside. I believe they were homeless people hanging around but we weren't bothered by them. Our vehicles weren't bothered and overall we had a great experience. Especially for what we paid for our rooms I won't complain. Could things be better? Sure! But that's anywhere. I can say we got more than what we paid for and let's leave it at that. To the staff/owners - Thank you for a pleasant stay! God Bless.

There is a lot of homeless but that that has nothing to do with the property or the amazingly nice couple that work there.

EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS YOU GET

Hotel was exactly as advertised and very friendly and helpful staff. This was a great stay for us.

The staff was amazing. The lady at the front desk made sure to inform me about things to do and places to eat. There are lots of junkies around the area but the man made sure I got in my room safe and always kept a look out.

No wait time on the room to get checked in. Took two seconds and we had our room key. Area was very close to freeway. Easy access to freeway

Reserved a room for 3 nights Told check in clerk I might only need for one night. Was told not a problem, pay the three nights and if I only needed one notify Hotels,com and I would be refunded. I checked out after one night but they then refused to refund the other 2 nights. Never again will I stay at an OYO hotel.

The gentleman at the office was very helpful I wish I had his name. Very fast helpful gentleman got me check in quick.

The man at the desk was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable the pool was very clean just the area of the hotel but that has nothing to do with the staff or hotel itself

Great place to stay

The bed and the rooms are up to date the bathroom is a bit small and the outside is a but grungy. It does look as if Oyo is trying to make the hotel better though.

This was a perfect space for our two-week stay in San Antonio. The staff is accommodating, well-lit at night, the room is clean and we felt safe every night of our stay.

The room was really dirty. Still had hair in the shower from whoever stayed there before.

The proximity to the Air Force Base

The room itself was okay, not the best, but the area surrounding it was VERY sketchy. I didn’t feel the best staying in that area, felt very unsafe.

No cable. So couldn’t watch tv. Ac was working but super loud. Was hard to sleep and second I ask for 1st floor and they put me on second floor

This hotel was a hotel where drug addicts stay and it was filthy

This was my second stay at this hotel. My first stay was centered around my nephew's graduation from Lackland Air Force Base. The outside of the Hotel is clean. The man at the front desk is helpful, kind, and he goes out of his way to ensure check-in is smooth and you're taken care of. The rooms - especially for the price - are well kept. You'll walk into clean sheets and pillows, showers, towels and toiletries. The WIFI has a good speed as well. In short, this second stay was just like the first: good and comfortable for the price.

Everything was fine. Nice people and nice place to stay.

So the guy in the office seems nice. I believe he is the owner. The room was clean. The main light didnt work but flashlight on phone got me to another one. The fridge wasnt plugged in and when plugged in...the plug had to be set just right to work.(Only learned that the day I was leaving.) The bed was comfy. The shower was hot. Everything appeared to be clean. Only saw one cockroach. Killed him and flushed him. It is what it is. A cheap place to stay. If youre used to really nice rooms. Its not the place for you. If you dont mind it being a bit run down then its perfect. For what it was and the price it was a decent place to stay. I dont mind ghetto. I will say that the area surrounding it is bad. Yes there is food near by and gas stations but it is a hard area. Quite a few homeless and questionable people roaming all hours of the night. Take everything out of your car and make sure it is locked up tight. The motel does have a lot of cameras but that doesnt stop some people. Its a short drive to get on post at Lackland for Air Force graduation. Thats why I was there. So if you dont mind ghetto area with a room that isnt perfect but a place to sleep that is cheap...this place is perfect. The owner speaks english but I believe is slightly limited. I could understand him. I believe he lives on site as well. He seems a little jumpy and cautious but seeing the area I understand why but hes a nice guy. If you have kids. Find somewhere else just because of the area. Solo guy. Fine.

It was a nice stay for what I wanted, BMT graduation.

Property needs to be updated. It is at an area not to updated. They had no amenities inside the room. Other then iron and board and hair dryer. Tv and fridge.

TRAVELOCITY had this option in their bundles. It has a 4.2 on their rating. Upon entering the room it smelled of urine. There were dirty napkins in the window cell that had dead bugs sitting along the window tracks, bed, floor and surrounding area. The sink was broken in multiple with razor sharp edges on the ceramic. Holes all over the walls that were patched with door know bump gaurds. The actual door lock looked to be already kicked in. Complete crack house. My wife and family were there for 10 minutes then packed up and left. After finding a safe place to stay I looked at google reviews where I read people finding crack pipes, cockroachs, rats in the walls ect, ect. I think it had less than 2 stars.

Clean room, friendly staff but…exterior was in disrepair and the neighborhood was sketchy and without any decent amenities. It was sufficient and convenient for the two days of BMT graduation but don’t go to this area for any other reason.

You get what you pay for. I’ve stayed at other low budget in the past for a overnight trip and they wasn’t bad. But this particular property is by far the worse. People hanging out all times of the day and night. The smell of smoke coming from the vents.

Overall good room. One lamp was not functioning and the maintenance person quickly replaced it. Otherwise, the room was clean and acceptable given the price we paid.

If you want a cheap night stay, this is the place. If you expect service such as bed made in the morning, clean sufficient supply of towels, working TV, this is not the place. I chose this OYO Hotel based on name/brand. This does not meet OYO standards. Was previously called American Inn, which was a small mom & pop place. Still run as a mom & pop place. The photos of hotel shown on Travelocity are deceptive.

The internet doesn't work well in the room and I do understand it's because of the signal and the office has no control over it but it took me almost an hour and a half just to book the room and then I had to go pay for it up front

A lot of cockroaches inside of the room, the last thing was when we take off the sheets, one big weird insect, I went with my family, all we went run out of that horrible hotel, they told me that they goin to refund me the money directly to my card but almost 2 months and still not refund. Dont go to this horrible hotel.

DISAPPOINTED STAY

It was a Disappointing stay. The aesthetics was very bad: it was dirty and unkept, uneven pavements-trip hazard. In the advertisement they spoke of a pool- the pool looks like a body of bacteria. I would not encourage my enemy to use it. There was a crackhead loitering on the compound. Harassing guest, making my children afraid to go outside, as well as making me and my wife feel unsafe. As to the inside of of the room, we order 2 queen size beds and instead we got 2 full beds. There was no clothe iron. We received a partial room service the first day, but thereafter non. They misguided us about their exact location as it relates to events we had on our itinerary to attend.

Terrible hotel and very rude staff made reservations then when arrived was told they had no rooms available

Our family and friends will not stay at OYO. We cancelled our trip and were told a refund would be given and have yet to receive that refund. At that the representative ran our card without authorization causing us to over draft. It was the most unpleasant experience I've had with customer service and cancellation with a hotel property.

Buen lugar

In all honesty, I would rate this property a 4.5 instead of a 5, but since that's not an option, and I think too many people are unfairly dinging this property, I'll go with 5 stars. My son and I stayed here for 4 days, and the staff were fantastic, and friendly! The property itself, while appearing rundown on the outside, was well kept and comfortable on the inside, and we both were pleased to call it our "home" during our stay in San Antonio! The area is very conveniently located to go to anywhere in SA, with plenty of places nearby to grab food as well. Sure, the area around the hotel may not be considered the "best" in San Antonio, but my son and I never felt unsafe, and we actually became rather affectionate for the area, and its cozy neighborhood charm. There are no bells and whistles here at this hotel (though they gave us water bottles for free upon out departure on a 100 degree day), and for the price, it's truly a matter of getting what you pay for in that regard. But I do feel you're getting a great place for the price all around, if you're not overly picky about where you stay, and I really enjoyed our stay here! I would definitely stay here again next time we're in the area!
