Best place to go
We have Benton Nassau many times over the years. This was our first time staying at the Margaritaville resort. On Sunday night, the head booked a function two floors below our room. The amount of noise and music that we could hear in our room was ridiculous. We called around 10 PM as we’re trying to settle down and they informed us that there was a party booked until midnight. The staff seem to care less about their guests that were staying in the rooms as the event seem to be more important than their guest happiness. I complain to the office manager the next day. I’m still waiting to hear back from them. Their follow up is similar to the experience we had at night trying to get them to lower the music. I would recommend anybody who wants to have good customer service stay away from this resort. There are better options where they care about.
Hallway carpets dirty. Resort fees higher than advertised.
The suites were amazing
The location is ideal BUT everything else was beyond frustrating. Checking in was a NIGHTMARE! We waited for hours and kept getting the run around about why they were struggling to find a room for us although we booked months in advance. The issue was we were staying “too long” so finding a room was difficult. After being in the lobby for 4.5 hours we finally got a room… not to mention this was after traveling all day with two children. Aside from that, the UPCHARGE is offensive here. I bought 3 bottles of sunscreen, over $110!!! Yeah… definitely buy your sunscreen at home or from Amazon for $14. They up charge everything. A cheat $9 bottle of wine is over $50 there plus the automatic VAT that’s taxes to everything… The first night we went to dinner, I went to bed hungry. It was disappointing. I order the lobster spaghetti, they gave me a bowl of noodles and veggies… no lobster… my family began eating their meals, I sent mine back, 45 mins go by, my family is done eating and the waitress informs me they just began to work on my order… so we had to cancel and go to our room. It was a terrible experience. Paid over $6k for the entire week with flights included and ended up spending another almost 2k for all the up charges they had.. I must say it was the worst waste of money ever… The location is ideal bc there’s several areas to walk to and many excursions on the dock nearby. Other than that, one and done for us. Hopefully they fix these issues and lower their cost.
Overall no
Hotel is nice for kids. Pool area was nice. Unfortunately when cruise ship comes in it gets crowded due to day passes. Service was lacking overall. I called for simple things like towels, shower cap etc and no one ever came. They also have a $74 per day resort fee AND $200 PER NIGHT security deposit. So if you’re staying 5 days you need at least $1400 extra to give them which is crazy to me and I wasn’t aware of the $200 per night policy until I arrived. I also lost a very expensive pair of sunglasses. Lost and found was no help and didn’t even take my information in case it was found. Room was clean and area was good . Walking distance to a lot of restaurants. But I wouldn’t stay here again because of the high fees and deposit required.
Ok
Great Location, Great Service, Great prices. It is located in downtown Nassau, where nearby shopping and restaurants are within walking distance. Right at the back is a chill water park, which is shown in one of the pictures. The beach is also right outside the backdoor from the water park. Everyone in the hotel is very accommodating. They have a dedicated staff to accommodate and arrange your tours. We went to swim with the pigs for half a day, and we had a blast. We got a package deal with Westjet Airline, and we paid a very reasonable price for me and my wife for both airfare and 5 nights stay. The prices of the food from their restaurant are very reasonable. Included in the pictures are our breakfast, which cost us $56. I say this is about the same amount we pay in other restaurants, not counting Macdonalds and Burger King, of course.
I like the layout of the pool. And the rooms it was easy to see and keep track of our kids.
This was a great place for kids. Front desk had work to do - not responsive and ignored requests (no hot water for a few days, little To no toilet paper) Management helped but it was painful I will say even with issues I would choose this over Atlantis or baha mar. Great for families
Nice
People aere making sex on the balcony sound were too loud this is not children family had to check out . Propertie refused to refund the night booked and refused to refund resort fee
Drink was spike/drugged from bar near adult pool
Pictures look a lot better than the resort itself. For the amount paid for this place, not worth it.
Was a great stay at the one particular harbour suite
It was really nice and a value for the price. Most staff members were friendly and helpful. There were multiple food options that were good. Only a couple of negatives - 1) I expected more live entertainment and 2) the hotel was without running water for one afternoon. I would definitely go again.
This place has so much going for it in terms of location and hotel amenities, and fails so hard on service. We stayed on the residence side which advertises washers and dryers, kitchenettes, and dishwashers. And this was a lot of the service downfall. At one point, all the adults on the trip looked at each other and agreed that this was the worst hotel experience we’d ever had. We had four people in our rooms, but were consistently missing something from the right number of towels to no pods for the washer or dishwasher, to no shampoo or conditioner in the shower to a broken ice maker. It was all just so bad. However, the location, the amenities, the private beach area, the water park, and the pool and hot tub at the residences is absolutely spectacular. But the basic hotel services one would expect from an upscale hotel, was just disastrous. I travel a lot. I typically stay in Hiltons, Fairmont, JW Marriotts. I’ve never run out of shampoo or conditioner in those refillable containers. I’ve never been missing enough towels for the number of guests in the rooms. I’ve never had a broken piece of equipment that required me asking 3x for it to be fixed before someone did something about it. The water park and additional pools are wonderful. The beach is wonderful. The water park pool has a max depth of 3 ft with a graduated pool entrance that’s great for toddlers to splash and play in. If it wasn’t for the service this place would be 5 stars.
Property is georgous !! Stores and beach easy to walk to. Only issue is at night when cruise ships leave all the stores and restaurants outside close. There is literally Nothing to do here at night and no place to eat. All night action is at Atlantis or Baha Mar.
We had a great time.
Great trip! Thanks to all the wonderful staff at the resort and everyone else we met along the way! Antone the bellman was such a gentleman that helped us all week. What a gem. And our waiter at JWB was outstanding. I’m so sad I cannot recall his name to mention him. Very fun and thanks for a great getaway !
.
The gentleman at the front desk when we checked in was very rude to the client ahead of me and continued his attitude with me and our check in which was very in sincere. He responded to my questions very disrespectful as i were an inconvenience. The beach front staff was outstanding and made up for it. Although out of 4 nights there was only 1 elevator in service and one evening that was broke down so stairs were the only option and the manager on duty didn't really seam to care that people had to walk stairs after paying a premium for rooms at this "luxury resort ". You can probably find better accommodations for less.
The property is beautiful, with white sandy beaches and amazing sunsets. Unfortunately, the overall experience didn’t match the setting. All local restaurants near the hotel close at 4 PM, which is inconvenient. The resort advertised paddle boards and kayaks, but when we asked to use them, we were told the tide was too strong—even though people were swimming. Staff asked us to return multiple times, but nothing ever happened. Eventually, a water park manager admitted they were broken, with holes that made them unusable beyond 30 minutes. So we were clearly misled. Worse, my wife and two kids got stuck in an elevator. The help phone connected them to someone in the U.S. who had no idea where they were. Thankfully, my wife had her cellphone, or no one would have known. After 30 minutes trapped, they were freed—but no one from the hotel checked on them or apologized. We also had no running water in our room for half the day. I spoke to a manager who promised a reimbursement, but no one followed up. A different manager the next day knew nothing about it. I was treated dismissively at the front desk and offered a minimal reimbursement. When I asked if anything more could be done, I was told no. Later, the original manager said I should’ve received a free night, but it was never applied. The location is stunning, but poor communication, safety issues, and lack of accountability ruined what should’ve been a great vacation.
Margaritaville it nice. However, Expedia and/or Margaritaville attempted to charge my card AFTER they received the initial deposit, which was not the agreement. In turn one of our rooms were cancelled. The hotel blamed Expedia. We attempted to upgrade the room to accommodate the party, and the desk rep allowed it to be booked while we were checking in. Overall, the service could be better. There's also a lot of miscellaneous charges to your bank account from the hotel once you get home.
GREAT!! location. Beach area is small and can get crowded at times but not crazy. The local shops and diversity of local restaurants within walking distance was great. For the most part, very friendly staff and accommodating. We will be returning for sure.
Beautiful and relaxing.
The only people I like was the ones at the front desk
Complementary Upgrade, Early Check-in, Fantastic Staff All of them from concierge to front desk to room service
We had thought of staying at Atlantis, and so glad we didn’t, as this resort was conveniently located to all shops and restaurants.
All resort is beautiful and Fins Up water park so relaxing.
One particular harbor is much calmer. The Margaritaville side is a little crazy there is a lot of party people. The water is super super cold i couldn't get in any of the pools. The rooms are very nice and the beds are comfortable. It would be nice to have vending machines for drinks and all the stores close for kids that get hungry and just need a snack. The view is amazing! The people were nice. We had a great vacation.
Loved the balcony view.
The hotel was generally fine. Great location and a lot to do there on property. The frustrating thing for us was that the pools were all freezing. We chose this resort primarily due to the water park and pool options for us and our kids but the water was so cold we really couldn’t even enjoy it. The hot tub was nice. Also had a very difficult time getting our room serviced multiple days. We had to use pool towels one night for showers, even after asking for towels and other essentials (bottled water, coffee, trash pickup). We were told the daily fee would be removed from our bill, but it was not. The food in all of the restaurants was very good.
Everything is good
Absolutely loved it ! The room was everything ocean view . Easy access to the beach extra excursions that’s available in the area , water park & food in the area. Now one thing i will Say is eat outside the resort so much better tasting and cheaper . The staff def is a big help, from helping with transportation to anything else you need help with . I feel they could use a 3rd person at the front desk to make thing much quicker and easier but that’s just my opinion .
Very nice property, too close to cruise ships for an extended stay, We stayed one night so it was great for us
We had a wonderful stay!
I usually never leave bad reviews, even when the stay wasn’t the greatest. However, this place was a nightmare! The staff wasn’t friendly and seemed annoyed anytime you ask the simplest of questions. They also moved extremely slow with anything they were doing. Terrible! 1 of the 2 elevators was down during the whole stay making it take a good deal of time whenever moving up or down through the hotel. Also, taxi drivers seemed to never have change when driving you around, making it awkward when departing, expecting the passenger to pay more than the cost. I would never ever stay at this hotel again.
We enjoyed the location of this property. It was walkable to downtown, shopping and various restaurants. The view from our balcony was wonderful. As well as a beautiful view of the beach and we were able to watch the various cruise ships come and go. One negative was the fact that the hotel sells day passes to the cruise ship passengers so that they can use the beach and pool facilities. We were there for 5 days and were unable to find a chair at the beach or pool area for 4 out of the 5 days. Margaritaville tends to cater to the cruise ship passengers while neglecting the guests staying at their hotel. I would not consider staying here again.
Very family friendly hotel, easy to walk to interesting destinations. great pool area and beach area not bad but mainly for bathers, not for snorkeling.. little marine life to see. Mostly friendly and helpful staff even if sometimes a little slow to respond.
I loved the Margherita hotel. Their food was very expensive for what you got. Gift shop was way too expensive. It was close to everything.
We decided to come 1 day early to Nassau, and to check off a bucket list, I booked us at Margaritaville. I cannot say one thing about this property I did not love. All staff members we encountered were friendly and welcoming. The service NO matter where we were attended is with enthusiasm and the property was magnificent. Our room looked out over the ocean and the views were breathtaking. Being at Margaritaville made the stay at the other resort the rest of the week a true disappointment. See you next summer Margaritaville!!
We loved our stay. We needed some relaxation and it was delivered. We loved sitting on our balcony overlooking the courtyard and the ocean. I wish it wasn’t so geared toward the cruises. Us resort goers would like to spend money on eating and drinking, but it’s difficult when so many places are closed after 3pm during the week once the cruise ships leave it seemed like a ghost town.
The property was very nice, when the ships came to port, they took up all the beach chairs, some didn't even have on wrist bands but overall I would stay again ...
No sun by the adult pool.
Great hotel! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean and quiet. Love that you can use the pool and hot tub 24/7.
Loved it! Had everything we needed. Highly recommended
Need more staff
Loved that there was so much to do right on the property. Loved the lazy river! Housekeeping was sporadic. Had to ask for usual item several times before they were delivered. The area where this property is situated is a bit run down. And since all of the businesses in the area cater to the cruise ships, it's hard to find a restaurant that stays open after 6 or 7 pm.
The property is like a home away from home.
Public vendors walking and trying to sell stuff on their “private” beach, beach was small and felt very crowded, pools looked dated and dirty
This hotel is ok, but the deposit payment for day and the resort fee is too expensive. This is not a luxury hotel for that kind of fees
Excellent stay and staff was friendly! The resort is cashless so charge your room or bring your card. We had a blast!
Perfect
Loved the well-appointed rooms and the fantastic grounds and pools! Top-notch, including a fantastic waterpark for kids of all ages
Second time I’m here in the last 6 months. Loved it both times. Plan to stay here a third!
Loved everything about our stay but the limited dining at the resort and nothing stays open later
The property was beautiful but maid staff was horrible. We consistently ask for towels and didn’t receive any.
The resort was very neat, room was well made and clean and beautiful. All rooms facing the ocean. Amazing resort for children and preteens, the water park, lazy river, the 10feet jump into the pool, jacouzi and the best part for my kids was the surfing simulator, that was a hit. For adults, an infinity pool and jacuzzi with a bar nearby. The activities on the beach all included in our stay. The resort is located near a lot of activities, so walking distance. We had an amazing week, my 2 preteens were never bored. Our only issue was that the toilet was clogged twice, and they came to fix it. My overall complaint is that the restaurants at the hotel were super pricy, a simple burger is around $32.
When arrived they kept us waiting for over 6 hours saying room needed to be cleaned.. walking outside very slippery. Rude…
Just didnt
Overall, not a bad place to stay. Very clean, but limited dining and some cranky staff. The tiny beach they have is nothing to write home about and gets very crowded when the multiple cruise ships land, which is daily. Got to the hotel at dinner time and there was a 45-minute wait to get into the restaurant. So, we got pizza from their pizza to go place. The guy in the snack shop was rude but housekeeping staff was nice. The concierge guy was great. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was lousy. Mostly ate at Smugglers down the street.
Everything was very good nice family stay ,ecept food very expensive and nothing wow
The hotel looks good, but they were not ready with the room for check in, hiden fees, water leak all the time, we could not sleep comfortable
We stayed here for a week and our meal service at the main hotel restaurant was extremely poor. Meals took over an hour each time, which could perhaps be overlooked with better service. Sadly, once seated the servers came around to provide us with drinks, then never returned again until an hour or so later once our food was ready. At no point did the servers come around to just check to see if we needed more water, drinks or anything. This was extremely disappointing.
Never again
Fabulous Stay but Very Pricey for Canadians
We stayed at the One Particular Harbour residence next to the resort and it was fabulous! Our room was very spacious, well appointed and had gorgeous views! All of the staff were very welcoming and extremely service oriented. The food and drinks were great however very expensive. They add 10% value added tax plus another 15% to everything. Even the groceries we had delivered to our room (as it had a full kitchen) were extremely expensive. Not sure why they would add a 15% tourism tax to groceries? As a Canadian family, these taxes plus the exchange of approximately 45% currently made it so expensive that I doubt we will return due to the credit card sticker shock. Back to Mexico for us.
I thought the staff did a great job…
Everything was mostly very nice but we had a moldy smell in the room. I was also not aware that the resort sold tickets to the public for the water psrk
Everything was top notch.
Resort caters to cruise goers. The resort gets crowded during the day because they offer day passes to cruise passengers. Dining options at the resort and in the area are limited because most close down after 5pm when the ships leave. Resort was clean but many things were broken. One of the two water slides were closed off the entire time during our stay. The only hot tub was not working for a full day. Many of the resort’s shops and restaurants were vacant during our stay.
I want to start to give Kudos to Mark who was at the front desk as we checked-in. Mark was super friendly, very professional and has such a positive vibe. Now in regards to our stay, Initially I was quite upset with their houskeeping service as I had an issue that was not resolved until I was superbly furious and had to physically head downstairs to request to talk at some point to the general manager on our 3rd day, however, that changed when finally the management team seriously listened and resolved the incompetency as it was the simplest issue that could have been resolved without the need for all the fuss. But kudos to the mangement team and I appreciate when they followed up and made our stay a more relaxed one The facilities are good the hotel is cleaned and maintained quite frequently including the pools. Most all staff was very friendly and helpful. The concierge was great and helped us reserve an excursion with ease. The food options/restaurants were limited and sometimes might not fully operate, food was decently well. The great thing about the Hotel's location is that you'll have other food options that are a 5 or 10 minute walk around downtown or you can take a taxi; you also get to see the city and access other places like the straw market. Frankly, we won't visit the Bahamas again due to how expensive it is and not as what we expected, but If I ever do I would certainly stay at the Margaritaville. Suggestion: Install filtered water stations on each floor
Cleanliness near the upstairs bar / patio area was poor. Also needed some regular maintenance/service and paint.
Horrible customer service. Staff was not helpful.
Great place but limited drinking and dining options with less than great service. I’d come back though!
We stayed at Margaritaville downtown Nassau for 6 nights in mid February. The location is great, in downtown Nassau so most places downtown are accessible on foot, and on the waterfront. It’s perfect if you want something loud and lively, though the (loud) piped music everywhere can get a bit much, especially depending on your music taste. We received a free upgrade to One Particular Harbour to a one bed apartment which is in a separate building with its own separate pool and beach area which we enjoyed. The major issue we had during our stay was with getting our whole room cleaned on a consistent basis. One day it wasn’t cleaned (despite having the “please clean the room” light on from 11:30am, we had to ask at 5pm and again at 6pm for it to be cleaned. When it eventually was that day, the cleaner was unhappy that we intended to stay in the room (on the balcony) while she cleaned. On a separate day, the room was cleaned but the bathroom wasn’t, we let it slide. On another separate day, the same happened (room cleaned but not the bathroom). On this occasion I went to the front desk to check whether the bathrooms were supposed to be cleaned every day (they are). Front desk sent someone quickly to clean the bathroom, but she made a point to tell me it was our fault that the bathroom wasn’t cleaned, as we hadn’t left the internal door to the bathroom open, so she didn’t know she had to clean it. I have stayed in dozens of hotels and it’s the first I’ve heard of this practice
Wonderful experience.
At all times, service was outstanding. Beginning with check-in and accommodating us with an earlier than normal arrival, the service just kept coming. Restaurants, beach, and swimming areas were all great.
It was a great time
Staff was very friendly.
Resort was nice but pricey. Right in the cruise hub which was awesome for the hustle and bustle but everything outside of the resort closes up at 5pm.
Hidden fees. Orbitz is also in on the scam
I loved the room, the pool areas, however the staff wasn't that nice at the restaurant The Pizzeria we felt that they were upset that we came in to eat, same attitude the guy at the little coffee shop in front the sushi bar,the person not nice at all, very disappointed, Now front desk staff is super nice and friendly
We stayed at the One Particular Harbour in a 3bdr suite. We used the beach at the British Colonial. I would not have liked to stay at the Margaritaville hotel. That pool/beach was crowded. The water park was small, not that clean and I would have been very dissapointed if I had to stay there. Our suite was perfect for a family of 4. It was big, clean and comfortable. Taxis were easily accessible out front to go to dinner. We walked to the straw market and to the fish fry area. Next time, Baja Mar.
Excellent Staff and Service
Great time. We will be back
One of the slides were broken the entire time we were staying at the resort. Very limited food options. I was double charge for the resort fee and they are refusing to refund me. Found a cockroach in our room. Limited activities. We left early to stay at Atlantis and Bah Ha Mar, which were both WAY better
The property is new and near all. The staff is fantastic and fun!
This is the second time we stayed at Margaritaville in Nassau. We had a great time but wish that they’d bring back some of their happy hour specials like buckets of beer ($25 for 5 beer) at the SOS bar. Overall still a good trip and will likely be back before long.
Loved the views
The property is nice and clean. The views are amazing. I loved watching the cruise ships sail in and out of the harbor. The only thing I had a problem with was the occasional noise from the adjacent properties.
Room and staff were great Not enough restaurants in common areas
Great views, very clean and well kept
It’s ok
The Happy colors and all the original Decor and property design . I didnt know the resort was cashless untiI I arrived, and I had brought spending money, and most of it I took back with me. Surprize! They held $200 each day on my credit card, total of $800, because I spent 4 nights there and most of it was spent on drinks from the bar, the gift shop for souvenirs, and the restaurants I ate at, If your credit cards are not up to par you may be in for a rude awakening, especially since I had already charged the vacation on another card. So beware and make sure your credit cards are ready. Other than that, the place is Beautiful, and I will return, much wiser!
Clean, quiet, adult and family friendly.
Everything was Awesome
Love- love this place. I will stay here again. This was a spare of the moment trip with mom and sister, and we had the best time! The staff and people were super nice and attentive. The rooms were amazing and super clean. The views were even better.
Beautiful resort, nice room, good service for the most part. Would stay here again.
Too much shade around the pool area Very unpleasant in winter
The staff were very friendly and efficient, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable.

Staff, bartender, and waiters had no hospitality and were always super rude
