Check in staff were horrible.
Good position, friendly staff.
I had booked to stay at this hotel (where I have stayed many times before) on 4 February. From 2 February we were directly hit by the severe weather issues in Ingham and didn't have power, phone, internet or any connection to the outside world. When I finally was connected I see I was charged the full price of the hotel so I contacted Wotif who were very good and tried on numerous occasions to get the hotel to refund me the amount in the circumstances, but they have refused. I have sent an email to the hotel's head office about this and they have not responded. Shame on you Madison Plaza for sticking to your T&C's at a time when we were experiencing a 1 in 100 year event.
I stayed for 8 days and had to move rooms twice due to flooding. Once from excessive rain seeping through the windows and walls from outside, and once because my carpet flooded and the mouldy smell was terrible. I could see the water coming through the wall from the next room. As much as the staff were not rude there seems to be no sense of urgency and the second time I had to move no one said ‘we’re sorry this happened’. The third room I was checked into had someone’s shoe still under the bed.
initially my room smelt a cigarette smoke and however the staff were very helpful and assisted me changing and choosing a different room as an alternative that was great fire alarm also went off. Sometimes these things can’t be helped organised everyone outside and keeping up us updated with the progress. facilities are a little old but the bed was comfortable. You could not stream to the TV, it needs to be updated.
Bathroom is full of mold every corner has mold from top to bottom they need to seriously inspect each room.
It has a bath & if they can they allow early check-in
A little run down.
Good location
No designated parking for the hotel but othet than that, its an excellent place
We arrived after hours, reception staff prior to finishing for the night were lovely. The room, the bathroom was not clean.
Staff were great with my flight delays and late check in, really great service, particularly shae
?
Great price, great location
Not impressed on many levels water leaking from inside elevator. Mouldy mildew stench in room really strong in hallways
Easy to book, out stay was awesome staff and room services were great and friendly do recommend
The room we stayed in was really dark and dingy - could not even open the curtains to let any light in....the sliding wardrobe doors in the bedroom would not open at all and were stuck, the TV did not work at all on any channels and we had to put down a credit card holding deposit for blankets for the bed because apparently people kept stealing them...the furniture was old and outdated...lucky it was only a bed for a couple of nights and we didn't spend any time in the room until arriving back at night otherwise I would have checked out...on the plus side the staff downstairs were great and really friendly but other than that I'm sorry to say I will never return.
Was a really nice stay. Would recommend to family and friends
Felt safe by the locking of the main door of the building Front desk lady Shayene is nice and very accommodating Only curtains needs fixing and carpet torn Price should be less than $130 a bit much for very old hotel I think …..
Did not stay there No staff on duty that day So i could not book in there was no way to get a room or a key Had to stay somewhere else
Not bad
I liked The Maddison, I was very impressed, my TV stopped working and I told them at Reception and I went and got some dinner, when I came back they swapped it for a Smart TV with Netflix.
10/10 for all the above
Ok for a one night stay
The front automatic glass door is smashed and could be more appealing if it was fixed the aircon in lobby Reception area leak on the floors and leaves puddles of water on the floor. Have to be carefull you dont slip and hurt yourself. Other than that awesome stay
Don’t waste your time or money.
Room was dirty. Sheets left us itchy with red welts. Mold in bathroom, shower was disgusting with built up grime. Air con barely blew air so room was very hot, no fans. Parking was a block away in an unsecured parking lot.
The staff are the most helpful people I've met. I actually felt like it was home. The customer service that was provided was exceptional
Nothing, no number of address on the building was hard to find address especially for visitors 😞
Ok
Room had a stale musky smell to it. Shower cubical wasn’t cleaned. Pillows were non existent - 3 pillows to make the standard height of 1 pillow. TV had sound but no picture.
there was no dining options
Fantastic friendly staff, excellent large room to meet our needs. Pool needs some work.
Ill be back
Its good for it's age but it is old and showing it. Parking is off site and also an extra charge.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
.
Staff were very polite but 1 staff member checking in a fully booked hotel was ludicrous! Facilities were dated, run down and staimed headboards. It has a great location, therefore convenient if attending events and concerts in the city.
.
Good price, central location,
this place was run down and grose
Bjj
Oliver and Holly who work at front desk were very helpful.
Never ever again
No, no, no. Had to leave after 1 night after paying for 3 nights. Not secure, people coming & going walking through internal hallways all day and ALL NIGHT. Noisy neighbours slamming doors and standing in corridors talking loudly ALL NIGHT. No after hours help. Property in poor condition. TV doesnt work, no free to air, only ABC & ch 10. Def no streaming services. Air con barely worked. I deserve a REFUND as we could not stay here and definitely should not have 2 pay for our night of Hell.
Father stayed there and enjoyed his stay
Friendly staff and clean
Good Accommodation for the Location and Price
We enjoyed our stay at the Madison Plaza. Our room was clean and secure. The staff we interracted with were nice. The location is excellent. We will stay again.
Basic facilities, ok comfort, layout of room not ideal with split level, and shower over bath is too high a step into bath with no rails to help.
Proximity to food shops
Very practical and late check in is a bonus. TV wasn’t working so I got to read my book.
Was good value for money. Room was cozy and comfortable.
The rate are fair the staff are good and on property untill lare. Room always clean.
Had a very musty smell and in need of a reno, peeling paint and looks very tired however great shower and bed and sheets very clean and comfortable
Great value for your dollar. Friendly cleaning staff perhaps should be in reception.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Always a comfortable place to stay after a long drive, new lifts and key card upgrades are great. The ladies smoking outside the front door were a bit intimidating, this was in no way a reflection on the hotel. Easy quick and seamless check in was also a relief after driving 8 hours. Always a pleasure and highly recommended.
The hotel is in the city centre. It is getting tired, general lack of attention to cleaning. The rooms and halls just need a deep clean and coat of paint and it would be a really affordable place to stay for a few nights. Other the that it was ok overall, bed was good.
I liked the fact that it was affordable to stay in a very convenient location. The overall room was clean the shower cleanliness was a let down as there was a fair bit of mould even on the soap holders that I could wipe off with a face washer that showed it had not been cleaned properly.
I didn’t like the fact that we had to park away from the motel
Parking within the facility would have been preferred
Close to the city. Cheap.
The room was clean and tidy but couod do with and update. The couches could use a shampoo. The lighting in the rooms terrible. The room layout was very strange. It was a family room with 2 bedrooms but you have to go through one room to get into the next one. Walking distance to the city. Parking is not onsight or included, it is $15 a day.
Its nothing flash and seems like a place for emergency accommodation for homeless people
A old established place but a nice central place to stay
Its ok all round
Would definitely stay there again
Absolutely disgusting. Expedia please ensure photos are accurate. Those supplied are certainly of the place but have been extremely doctored. Local council should also investigate the hygiene of the venue Moved rooms. TV not working A/C not working 2nd room TV not working and floor dirty First time I have complained about any accommodation - this place abuses the customers trust through their photo representations. Many homeless congregate downstairs and all nite snooker room bars attract intoxicated public
Located very well, central. Transport along main route. Great eateries along City Lane..
It was completely run down, mouldy bathroom, paint chipping off every surface.
Like staff . accommodation is ok
Loved the privacy and i felt safe. Staff were very helpful and caring.
I wish I could share some photos of what the room looks like. The paint was peeling off the walls, there was mould all up the lamp next to the bed and there was not enough lighting in the room to see your foot in front of you.
Not clean
My second home
I usually stay here. It's central and convenient. Only downside is the parking.
Very dirty, no on site parking and wanted $15 to park away from hotel. Would not recommend at all.
The price was ok . The facility was terrible. Cockroaches and a broken air conditioner made our stay terrible . The staff could not accommodate even a fan as there is no window to open and it was so hot . We couldn’t sleep. The manager was emailed x3 with ZERO response . Disgusting
The Lounge chairs in the lobby need cleaning and the shower needs a clean
Dirty property and unhappy with paid parking.
People knocking on our door at 5am in the morning pretending to be room service just to ask for cigerettes we found to be extremely disrespectable, We also did not get one decent nights sleep due to how noisy people were being in the halls. However the staff were absolutely lovely and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
your hospitality says it all well done guys.
Very affordable, central location, friendly staff. Regularly stay here.

I didnt mind that check in was delayed 2.5 hours or that the rooms are old. I did care that the bathroom was dirty and the pillow in the wardrobe had blood on the slip
It is getting a little old and the service at the reception at the start wasn’t great. But it is a clean place and in a good spot
Good price
Night staff was rude. Property needs a real clean. But you get what you pay for.
Seems a half way house for the indigenous drunking people everywhere
It smelt strange and you have to pay extra for blankets
The rooms smell very stale and they need a good deep clean
Was grate 2nd time now
Location is good, room was okay for the money. Bath tub wasn’t clean and there were weird stains on the carpet but can’t complain too much for cost.
Would not accept cash(legal tender). I was not advised of this beforehand and only found out when they rang me after delving into my card details the day before arrival. Then threatened to cancel my booking (by email)because I wanted to pay cash. I finished up paying by DEBIT CARD which they then charged me fees on. Told I could leave my luggage there before 2pm and when I arrived at 12.15pm found the place closed and noone there. Room very ordinary with no microwave and 2 steps in room to negotiate always(dangerous) and step into bathroom which is a toe cracker.Difficult to see through window. My second time there. First time they took money from my Card for "reserving" a Car Parking Space. Interesting, considering I didnt even have a car. It was extremely difficult to get this money back from them. My second and last time there. Very customer unfriendly.
We would not recommend, such a noisy location, we were not aware when booking that parking was not onsite, very difficult with bags and children. Our room had clean sheets but that was it, very dark and dirty, stains on walls, doors, everywhere, it felt really grotty, made us cringe, honestly could do with a bond clean and a coat of paint. To sum up our experience, we heard other guests commenting that this place was a magnet for Meth Heads, they were not happy either.
Old food left in my room and in the fridge. The hotel’s CRM is completely non existent! Even though I have stayed more than 20 times there’s never a flicker of recognition- let alone a welcome back. Even with multiple booking platforms, many hotels manage to do this.
Staff were friendly but not very informed. Transients were always sitting outside the building.
The staff was accommodating and friendly, they helped us with every request and answered all our queries.
Dirty bathroom.
I loved the hotel it was really nice
Bad beds, I got back pain, noisy, not clean, people screaming into the hotel at midnight.
I would not like to stay here again I couldn't even watch tv the beds looked like they had been slept in dirty cups an room smelled bad I would love my money back
The building is in disrepair. Needs updating and painting. Also needs modernising. Carpets in the hall way are very dirty. The room was large but had an extra bed in it with no table and chairs and only 2 seats for 3 people. No parking at the premises.
