Worst hotel experience
worst experience I've ever had in a hotel. Went to a work conference. Had reservations at a Hilton Homewood Suites by the Galleria. They did have a sign at the elevator that they were undergoing renovations and to excuse their mess. Got my room on the 5th floor. That floor was in terrible disarray. There was plastic covering the floor all the way down the hall (my room was a good way off). I had a luggage cart and slipped twice walking on the plastic--hit the floor face first. Had to pull myself up with the luggage cart. Wallpaper was being torn off the walls in the hall. Fans were blowing everywhere and it was hard to go down the hall with the cart. The floor smelled terrible. No other guests were seen on my floor all weekend and I think there was no one else given a room on my floor. Other rooms had the doors completely open the whole weekend. After unloading the cart I went down and asked if there was anything I could fill out. They said no and to hold on. Then the front desk clerk talked to a manager (I assume) and just asked me if I need an ambulance and if I want Tylenol. I just wanted to go back up to the room at that point because I was light-headed. Later the front desk clerk said she would move me to a new room Friday (I checked in Thursday night). Friday they did nothing of the sort. I was told when i left they don't move rooms. Is this really worth over $130 a night?
Where is the water
The hotel had no water part of Sunday and no hot water all day, no water Sunday night and no water til mid afternoon on Monday. I was surprised they did not work to fix this 24 hours a day rather than during normal work hours, when most of the clients are away. We need the water at night and morning. The staff were amazing - they kept us optimistic and the kept going. But, the repairs, in my opinion, should have been ongoing all hours....
Had no water
The hotel is very well situated, just across the Galleria Mall
Good stay
Spacious room. Great view to the city. Confortable bed and a variety of breakfast. It was absolutely great!
Nice stay
Room was clean and nice. Only thing the hot water was not very hot.
Rainy Street was fun but not any more.
Weekend Getaway
In town for a couple days and was pleasantly surprised how very nice the hotel was. We will stay here again
Great I would go back
Needs updating
Ok stay average brought down by the fact that they had no water for 40 minutes in the morning.
The room was not clean , it had hairs on the bathroom floor and tub, the towels had long hairs also
Old Building that Gets the Job Done
The hotel is quite old. The condition is very good, but looks a little worn. The whole place was clean, has new carpets and very comfortable beds. A great value, but not a looker. It's location across the street from the Galleria can not be beat! Strongly recommend for those on a budget.
This was a very pleasant day. The staff was very friendly, and the property was very clean and well kept. Parking was a breeze and it's centrally located within walking distance to the mall and plenty of restaurant options.
Everything
Very clean and cozy. Staff was very friendly! I enjoyed my stay!!
Easy check in front desk was patient
Convenient
Everything was amazing. Night staff was a bit rude and not helpful
Very convenient location, nice friendly staff made check in process fast.
Very comfortable rooms and good shower. Parking is 24 dollars a day
The rooms furniture seemed old. Breakfast was too basic and with no options. The app said they had crib available but at the time of the check in they only had pack n plays with no mattress. Staff was okay, but i for sure didnt feel the Hilton experience.
Everything was great
The hotel is old and needs remodeling. The shower door was old and dirty. Both the shower and toilet leaked all day and night. Old, dirty carpet in the room and hallways. This hotel is overpriced for its condition and services. The receptionist was not friendly and not helpful either. And on top of it all, parking is not free. I do not recommend this hotel.
Great location!
This needs a big upgrade. Every room had issues as we had multiple family members and friends visiting. From bathroom door handles to shower heads to clogging to no room service until asked for. Issues continue. Only positive was room were spacious and close to mall. Front desk most people were rude. Check in was at 3 and multiple rooms were open on app but none were ready and had to wait. Things go on and on but definitely the worst homewood suites we’ve been to and will not stay here again and will not recommend anyone to stay here.
Brakefast included
This hotel is VERY CLOSE to the mall. You can walk. Brakfast is basic. And service is EXTREMELY slow. Few front desk staff are very nice ,polite and helpful and some of them just DON'T WANA WORK . Parking spot are very small. Better to park on the roof so no one can put dent on your car. Entrance has 2 sliding door BUT 2nd door is always lock even in day time. You need room card to open or you knock so thy can open. Overall hotel is fine. I will stay again
Bugs in hotel room
There is a lots of bugs in thr room
Clean
The hotel and rooms were very clean and felt safe.
no additional comments
I love having our family all in the room instead of separate rooms.
Room 603 had a loose ceiling fan and a loose shower head. House keepers should notify engineers to fix it. But overall the entire experience was amazing. The room was extremely clean and amazing.
Everything was perfect except when we were in bed trying to fall asleep. We could hear people outside our door laughing, being loud then they would bang on our door loud and run away. Happened twice, first time sounded like they were messing with the door knob. My kids were afraud but calmed them down after a while.
Parking can be included in the hotel price
Amazing hotel staff, convenient location close to shopping
The ability to cancel was not clear to me, and I did buy the extended cancellation insurance. But I still think that that was not easy enough to get through to.
Nice place if you are visiting Consulate of Ukraine
Quiet. Rooms have everything you need. Staff was accommodating and walkable location to Galleria and restaurants
The couch had a smell and very outdated. The mattress on the letter couch was nothing but the springs it was just horrible. Everything about the couch is horrible. The smell from the couch made the whole room smell.
Absolutely loved the location.
Rooms are small in size as compared to my earlier experience but it’s manageable , bathtub are not in good condition no option to fill the water for bath. Room service telephone line are not working and after Compaint they still not resolved. Overall experience are not good.
Great hotel! Great for family with kids. Overall great experience. Will be staying there from now on, on my trips to Houston
Great location, good value for the location. Will be coming back on my next visit
Great location near Galleria!
We had a terrible experience at this property. We had booked King Suite for our family of 4. The room supposedly came with sofa bed, but the mattress was broken. We asked twice to replace the mattress but they said they didn’t have one to replace and they couldn’t put us up in another room as they didn’t have similar room available. They said they’ll bring extra sheets and blankets to put over broken mattress but they didn’t bring it. We had to call them next day morning and that’s when they brought it. Meanwhile we arranged for one of our older child to spend night at our family friends house as we couldn’t accommodate all 4 of us on one king bed. Staff wasn’t too friendly as you would expect from A Hilton Property - May be because of the area it was located in. But yea wish we get some form of compensation for such an experience at a property you wish to be better than other competitors in same star ratings. One thing for sure - will never book our stay at that location.
The only thing I didn’t like about was the Traffic getting to certain places but other than that, it’s pretty good. I will book here again.
The Homewood suite at the galleria is home away from home. The staff were very friendly and helpful. If you are counting steps the area around is very walkable.
Had reservations for two night stay. Arrived after 8 pm to find my reservation cancelled. Hotel fully booked. Had take a uber five miles away to get a room. They changed me for the stay I didn’t get
Nice place
Detroit 2 Houston
Needed a cork screw and pot tops, other than that very spacious and clean
Have stayed in this property twice. The condition of the building and furniture are deteriorating fast and nothing seems to spur change. Would really consider staying there a third time
Room was not available our first night they over sold had to wait to next day for the room that was reserved. Seen two roaches in the room, bath tubs were stained and out dated.
Perfect for shopping
Bathroom door hinges were not secure had to pull knob up to close the door
I could walk to the Galleria for shopping and entertaining.
Horrible smell coming from the carpet
Well located. The water pressure in the wash basin was extremely oor.
Fam Vacay
Good customer service. They lady with the long beautiful nails was great. She helped us have a great stay. Thank you
Reception only one night vice 3-4 nights at other locations. Canned soup and packaged salad was an embarrassment No sign visible from the main road. No clue which days have maid service. ☹️
No room cleaning service during stay
For the most part my four night stay was pleasant, but there could be improvements. My shower had a bad leak, very weak stream, and lukewarm water at best. The outdoor seat area was very uncomfortable as well.
Great stay no house keeping unless you ask I guess
Pleasant stay good sleep nice room little noisy as far as the drain lines sounds like running water
The only thing I found slightly unsafe about was the parking elevators were extremely SLOW!
Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to Sanda for checking in on me daily via SMS. That was very kind of her. Overall, I had a pleasant stay, but I encountered a few issues that I would like to bring to your attention. 1. Room Conditions: • My room (805) was generally fine, but I noticed that the toilet makes a lot of noise as it continuously tries to fill itself. • Additionally, the shower did not have sufficient water pressure, and the hot water was not hot enough. • After informing the front desk, I would like to request that my room be cleaned every day during my stay. 2. Restaurant Hygiene: • I encountered cockroaches in the restaurant, which raised concerns about hygiene. I reported this to the front desk, and I want to commend the staff there for being fun and quite helpful. 3. Safety Concerns: • During my stay, I had an unusual experience in the elevator when I shared it with an armed gentleman coming back from the gym. This made me feel unsafe, as I’m not accustomed to seeing guns in public spaces. I have typically stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn on Sage Road in the Galleria area from 2001 until 2020, and this was my first experience at this hotel. Thank you for taking the time to address my feedback. I look forward to your response.
Older property in need of TLC. Staff was excellent/wonderful. Hyatt in order to lower their room prices has begun to charge a high amount to compensate. We'll stay where parking is free (no hidden fees).
The pull out sofa broken. Keys did not work had to get them rekeyed. TV’s did not work. Could not watch tv as all channels restricted. Maintenance could not fix TVs. Phone did not work, not labeled to know how to get message Off phone. Tub dirty. Looked like furniture was missing in bedroom (large open area between bed and window). Living room area furniture uncomfortable. Was not what I was expecting.
Everything was clean and friendly employees
Muy alto precio por las instalaciones
Hotel viejo austero
Staffing very friendly
The property has 13 floors with parking access to only si many floors from the parking garage. There was only one working elevator so we had to take the stairs up and down from the 6th floor and we switched it to the 6th when we learned of our orignial assignments on the 11th floor with only 1 working elevator. Our shower head and knob mounts were completely detached from the wall.. looks like they have have been repeatedly replastered. We had to stand in the tub to shower because they didnt work. Maintenence never came. There was ice but only on 2 higher level floors. None on our floor. We only had 1 working dryer and we had a week stay. The hotel is in the worst spot for check in and traffic with no ground level parking. The carpet was very dirty and the room smelled like urine constantly in waves. Their printer didn't work for their computer and the front desk computer was a nightmare to try and figure out. The "FREE" Breakfast was forgettable with watered down OJ and apple juice and bruised fruit. The staff were all very kind but this place needs a major makeover!
College move in trip
The room was big but the elevator being out caused a problem with us being on 10th floor and having to wait a long time for the one working elevator. Breakfast was exactly the same each day. I would have liked some bacon. The parking spots are extremely narrow.
We stayed a night aint much to say
The property was great for us! Convenient near the shopping mall and freeway.
The service was bad. The entrance doors are closed, you have to have a key to open with it. So, when I came for check-in the front desk was empty and I had to wait 10-15 min outside until someone exiting the hotel let me in. The front desk service was far away of being polite or accommodating. I rather not to stay in this hotel next time.
Great location near Galleria, friendly staff, good breakfast
Peaceful
A great place to stay! The staff is amazing, especially Ms. Lisa. ❤️✌
There was brown paint at the edge of every counter and table in the room which was getting on our hands and our clothes. I'm not sure why they wouldn't make sure dry before booking the room. It got on our hands and clothes. The pool looked very foggy and the room was very strong with chlorine to the point we did not want to swim
This place has gone down…started four nights & never came to clean room or make up beds..trash cans never got emptied…not happy …probably will look for another place
Not a clean hotel for location.Hot water did not work and TV did not work.Very dissatisfied
Lobby smelled like bathroom, waited in 25 minutes for elevator!
3 of the 4 days I did not have hot water for showers when I needed it
A very good place
Very lovely! Check in was simple, parking was simple, very close to Galleria. Will definitely be staying again and totally recommend.
Tv did not work in one of the rooms. Asked to have it fixed but was told that nothing could be done until Monday which was our day to leave. The tv was flickering and could not watch it
I recently stayed at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Houston Near the Galleria and had a generally pleasant experience. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the Galleria Mall, which made shopping and dining very convenient. The room was comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen that was perfect for preparing meals. The bed was cozy, and I appreciated the spacious layout of the suite. The complimentary breakfast was a nice touch, since I traveled with kids. However, I was disappointed with the parking situation. The hotel charges $23 per day for self-parking. Given the overall cost of the stay, I believe parking should be included. Overall, I enjoyed my stay but would recommend the hotel consider revising their parking fees to enhance the guest experience.
Its a good hotel the worker's was polite and anything you need they will accommodate you the bus that they can i enjoyed my stay with my family and breakfast was excellent
Great location, staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was a bit dated, but clean.
Book elsewhere, there are other options in the are
One of the two elevators was broken for most of our stay. Breakfast did not offer a single vegetable which I really found add, and the fruit - watermelon was cut hours before and not the best. Great location but for the area I would not go back to this hotel.
Excellent
Second stay, would stay again.
Breakfast not as good as other reviewers claimed. Selection is the same as any other hotel with free breakfast. Some appliances were broken/unavailable for use. Front desk management was poor. Did not explain any facilities/locations/hidden parking charges until it showed up on my bill after my stay. Unfriendly if you needed any additional help/have questions. Will not be staying here again.
Establishing care with MD Anderson medical center.

The property was being renovated so the hallways were a mess on my floor - wallpaper partly off the walls parts of hallway rugs rolled up, pool closed for renovation. Breakfast: sad face no waffles. But they had good fruit salad, bagels, English muffins, & toast; peanut butter & Nutella, (the scrambled eggs looked more like baked), chicken sausage & chicken tinga & Yogurt. Staff was very nice.
