So So this time around...

I have stayed at this location a few times. The staff here is always great, but this time around the room needed a little bit more attention to detail. Both the entryway and bathroom floors were dirty, with a stocky residue. Mopping should be done in between guests. The shower also had a loose faucet and handrail, stains on the ceiling that appeared to be from a leak, and the shower stall itself also needed a thorough cleaning.

It was clean, the staff was polite and kind, we felt safe and it was great to not have to go elsewhere to get breakfast

This was our halfway hotel… it was halfway between home and our destination. It was the best decision I could have made to stay here! The breakfast alone was so worth it!! I would stay again!

About 10 vehicles got broken into. Windows were smashed. Night person must have been asleep.

Gross!! Used personal items

We stayed after a concert. The room was not clean. My kids ended up finding used personal items from last We didn’t realize it that night but my two young kids found it and picked it up. Manager didn’t even come talk to us a check out and said she might give us a discount. I’m never staying again and will be looking at charging the fee back. That was beyond gross.

Mixed review this time

My first night the hotel was busy as it was on a Saturday. Lots of families, which was fine except around 11pm when kids were out in the halls screaming. Bother staff’s fault, I’ll just never understand why people don’t just go into their rooms to make noise. Try to get a room away from the pool if possible, noisy due to a pump or generator that kept coming on. I’ve stayed here before, and none of this has ever been a problem. Internet and cable were also spotty, not sure why. I will say that the staff here are always excellent. Very polite and helpful

I believe the property is upkept and the staff works hard to continue showing others what is great about staying there.

Cars broken into

The front desk lady was extremely rude and unfriendly. The cars got broken into, the breakfast was cold and watery, no coffee, the ned springs were literally broken on one side.

The property was immaculate. We were passing through and it was very easy to get on and off the highway. The women working the morning of 6/26 were very impressive. Very interested in our opinions on how they could improve. That interaction made a great impression. Would definitely recommend.

The manager, Jewell, at this location is a true gem, There was a mistake with another reservation we had at another IHG location, she was very helpful in trying to get it all taken care of. She is very personable and made us feel at ease. IHG/Holiday Inn Express is very luck to have her!! Thank you for a great stay.

This hotel experience was excellent. Rooms clean, modern fairly new hotel, AC worked great for hot summer day, great blackout room window shades, free Holiday Inn Express breakfast with variety of foods, hotel near several fast food restaurants. Recommend this hotel and would stay again. Hotel night stay price reasonable.

My daughter and I travel a lot for her dance competitions and I usually just pick a hotel that is close to the venue. Although it was only for one night, Holiday Inn Express Columbus South was one of the better hotels we have stayed at. The room was clean. The hotel was quiet and we both got a good night's sleep. The staff at the desk was also very helpful. My daughter had forgotten scotch tape which she uses for her makeup(?) and they were quick to supply some for her to get ready. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Ok place. Right next to on ramp of highway and windows let the noise come in. The area around the hotel was not kept up. Lots of weeds growing around.

The water pressure in the shower was awesome. It made me want the shower head for my own bathroom at home. Soap and shampoo products in the room were Dove, so nicer than we were expecting. Towels were thin and pillows weren’t the best, but I still slept fine. Breakfast was great, lots of good options. Will stay here again when in the area in the future.

The air conditioner did not work in the room. Water pressure was very light. Coffee was not fresh at breakfast, and fruit was old.

The staff was nice and friendly. Unfortunately there was mold on the ceiling in our room. I let management know. Hopefully they take care of it in a timely fashion. People pay their hard earned money to stay at the hotel. It should be clean and definitely mold free!

The room was very clean and the shower was great. The bed was good but the most impressive thing was the service. Adrian went above and beyond. Our TV shut off and Adrian responded right away and worked until the problem was solved. He was respectful, kind and curtious. Would stay again.

Check in process was quick and easy. Amenities were as good as expected.

Our room was pleasantly clean and quiet. Even though the advertisement stated this was pet friendly, the 3 front desk personnel that were standing around talking to each other did not emulate the friendly attitude of a pet friendly atmosphere. I understand there may be others whose pets are unruly or noisy, but no one even knew my small support animal was present. I felt unfairly judged.

Overall I had a very pleasant stay. Staff is friendly, room was nice, but the bathroom needed some attention with loose floor tiles and a stained spot on the tub. This is the second time I stayed here and both times had my keys not work the 2nd day which is certainly frustrating. But overall can’t complain!

Quite a few potholes in their parking lot. 3 of them are rather large. Their elevator seemed to have a mind of its own. The vanity mirror in the bathroom had 2 of the 4 lights out. Did NOT bring this to management's attention. I didn't get to the hotel until nearly midnight and was leaving at 730 am the next morning. On the bright side, breakfast was good. It was nice to see omelets and fresh pancakes, rather than the standard breakfast options.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel had guest laundry which I was glad to see. Breakfast was decent.The room seemed clean. Checking in was pretty fast. They had a small dirt lot for larger vehicles to park, like a bobtail or small RV. I wouldn't try parking a semi truck with a 53' trailer. There's really not much room to turn around and park if there's already a larger vehicle back there already. There are some pretty good sized ruts/potholes back there. We were in a bobtail, so we didn't have much of a problem parking, we just had to go really slow to try to avoid them as best as possible

Great locations and friendly staff

What an amazing hotel!! Way above our expectations!! We were in Columbus for a soccer tournament and this hotel was close to our 2nd location. When we walked in to check in I could smell the cleanliness immediately!! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and met every need quickly and with a smile! The room was extremely clean and well stocked and the pool and workout room were nice as well! Only thing this hotel needed was a hot tub 😃 we will definitely be back 👍

Room was not clean, there was hair under the comforter, shower and sink drains were very very slow to drain water and the room overall had some odor.

The room seemed clean enough but it looked like they had tried to repair the grout on the tile floor. The new grout was done very poorly and was just like sand in the grout lines, causing large piles of "dirt" everywhere on the floor giving the room a dirty feel.

The pool wasn’t open, me and kids were looking forward to swimming!

It smelled like cigarette smoke in our room. The cleaning staff tried to come in our room at 8 am in the morning and woke the kids up. When we didnt answer they tried using their key to get in.

Not what I am use to at a holiday Inn /Express

Our key did not work when we got to the room. The floor inside the door was tile and had not been cleaned in weeks was dirty. We had no bath mat for the ceramic floor to step out of the shower on. We had just enough towels to take a shower a wash cloth for our face and that was it. no fax machine to use or pay them for faxing papers had to find a Kroger's to do so. Had to ask for towels each day no-one emptied our trash while we were there. Placed towels in hallway to be picked up by the staff. Laided there all day and half of the night. The breakfast lady was exceptionally nice and friendly. The gentleman that worked the desk the last night we were there was nice and helpful (young black man) . Asked for a copy of the bill and the (white gentleman) on the desk said that he put it under our door. When we went back to the room to get our things and leave we looked for the receipt but it was no where to be found. So I guess he thought he did his job but really did not nor did he cars. I had to ask the lady that was on the desk when we came down for one. She printed it off for me. For a holiday Inn Express it left a lot to be desired. Considering we stay the weekend before in one in Moline Il at the airport and it was a great and beautiful place to stay. We are a travel soft ball team and we stay in a hotel just about every weekend during the summer.

Bad start to travel day

Wake up call at 430am to find broken shower faucet..front desk said nothing they can do..front desk wanted to give credit for room ..but booked with hotels.com..i called hotels.com on hold over an hour.. This is normal ..they relay have no support at all...

Beds were clean. Appeared to have Ahmad water leak in several places in the building.

The room was clean and looked as expected but my main issue was the noise, at 7 or 8 in the morning i heard running banging noises up stairs in the halls...and it didn't stop up until check out at 11..I think that is a issue for guest trying to rest. Besides that it was a ok stay for the night.

Great Stay

I stayed there for business. I only went from the front desk to my room. My room was clean, however it seems the walls were paper thin! I could hear when someone coughed next door. The area felt safe and the lady that checked me in was nice. I would stay again.

I had two stink bugs that needed removed via flushing and the shower was painfully slow to drain. The water spiggot in the shower was loose.

Very close to Fortress Obetz, where we were attending an event. This is a nice new hotel and the staff were cheery and friendly. Breakfast was well-staffed so that items were restocked quickly.

Average stay. Nothing over the top about this hotel. Clean and comfortable enough but very basic. I was there one quick night for a business trip. Might try somewhere else next time for the amount of money paid

Proximity to the highway is great. I think there should be more lighting in the parking lot, especially with the park and woods so close.
