The staff was excellent and the property was very clean.
If you’re gonna state that parking is free, it should be free not $10 for a day. On Expedia, as well as Hilton‘s own app shows that parking is complementary, but it is not you have to pay $10 for a day.
We were treated well, front desk was helpfull with confusing parking fee
The hotel is super clean and staff is super helpful.
Near the airport and free transport to the airport.
I curtain in the room didn’t work it would not block the outside lights
Perfect place to lay your head after or before a long flight!
Breakfast was tasty. Room condition was ok. They were doing some renovations on the floors that was in progress.
Hotel offers reasonable rates only to nickel and dime you with extra fees. Parking fee is really unnecessary at this location near the airport. They have a huge lot with no demand from anyone else other than hotel guests and no reason for the additional charge. Charge for bottled water in room and $4 for coffee in the lobby. Romm was dirty with hairs in the shower and bathroom floor. I’m a Hilton Honors member who used to travel often and used Hilton exclusively when I traveled. My travel slowed down during COVID but now retired, will be picking up again. I will be looking for another alternative to Hilton.
The staff was great. Hotel is being remodeled, but that didnt cause any issues. The breakfast staff gets a special shout out. They were very accommodating to my wifes special dietary needs. The only complaint I have is having to pay for parking when the hotel right in front of ours did not charge for parking.
They were remodeling and everything looks dated
Hotel under renovations book with caution
Checked in very late after an exhausting day. Got our room keys and hauled up our luggage. Room keys didn’t work because it was someone else room! Had to haul our stuff back down to the lobby and get our real room. Hotel is under renovations so room numbers are taped on the doors and everything looks terrible. Thankfully we were here over the weekend so there was no active construction but I can’t imagine staying here during the week and having to deal with the work going on.
The hotel and room were fine. The employees were friendly. I think for the price they charge to stay there the breakfast and parking should be included but they weren’t.
The service was excellent not surprising since this is Hilton!
Nice Hotel
Everything was great except the fact that hotel guests need to pay for parking. Very unfortunate! supposedly is a city ordinance. Unfortunately we will not be staying around the city of San Antonio again we will look for a hotel in the surrounding areas.
Air conditioner didn’t work well. Would be nice to have a continental breakfast. Instead they’re selling $16 breakfast plates/buffet.
The property was under construction. I wish they would have made us aware of it. I love that they provide transportation to and from the airport the staff was out of this world in the front desk to the bartender to the maintenance man
You have to pay for parking which any travel site does not inform you of.
You will pay more than expected
Additional parking fee not disclosed: $10. Pet fee - $75.
Good
A good value for the money.
Great place, close to airport. Parking lot is safe and has security. Unlike other hotels.
Needs rehab
There were no base boards in hallway. Considerable messy carpet along walls. Had three night reserved left after one. Room felt like hospital room.
Hotel sucks
First off why do they charge for parking? Never even heard of that before and will never stay at a Hilton again because of that alone. But here are the other things wrong with this hotel: slowest elevator in the world and only one of the 2 worked. Looked like they were in the process of painting as there is blue painter tape on all the doors- when I asked about it clerk said no that was months ago when painted and the blue painter tape is still up holding up the door numbers? Really tacky… no coffee in the rooms only decaf & tee.. are you kidding me!! Why bother…bathroom was a bit dirty- at least there were no bedbugs…no complementary breakfast… and no complementary coffee downstairs- seems like this hotel is trying to nickel and dime you to death- guess that is why we we the only people on the top floor.. really the whole place looked pretty empty but maybe that was just because nobody could afford to park there…I would never recommend this place to anyone and will write off Hilton from my list!!
.
Cool
The check in was fine. The rooms were clean but the hotel is very outdated and needs to be renovated. It was listed as a 3 star but it should be a 2 star at best. The advertisement said parking was included, but they charged me for parking. I don't feel like this is Hilton Garden Inn quality. I would not stay here again nor recommend it.
Nice
Great place to stay , clean place and friendly people
When we checked in we had to pay for parking even after our hotel reservation said free parking. My husband made himself a cup of coffee in the room and it was nasty all the grinds were on top.
Trash cans overflowing in the halls. Griddle in kitchen broke so only partial menu but they wanted to charge full price for breakfast. Room furniture reminded me of a Motel 6, not a Hilton. Terrible hotel.
I was disappointed by my stay here. I had a short layover in San Antonio, and I arrived late at night to an empty check-in desk. After searching for someone to help me check in and calling the hotel number (no answer), a man named Aaron eventually arrived about 10 minutes later. I mentioned to him that I’d waited that long, and he accused me of being dishonest. The room condition wasn’t much better than the rude check-in experience: the hallways were in poor shape with baseboards torn from the walls, and my room had white residue on the nightstand and carpet. I was relieved to check out early the next morning, and I will not be returning to this hotel.
Spacious room
Room was great very spacious. Beds were comfortable. Disliked having to pay parking on a daily basis. The breakfast costs $15.95 per person for buffet which consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, toast, yogurt and cereal. Couldn't justify $16 for the selection. Most other hotels serve that free. We spent $12 at Mcdonalds down the street for 3 people. Pool and other amenities were out of service due to construction which by the reviews has taken way too long. 3rd floor hallway wasnt complete yet either. If you have a family it is good for separate bedrooms but thats about it.
Comfy bed, large room, clean and modern hotel. Didn’t like the fact that I had to pay for parking.
Its run down looking but ok
Property good, service miserable
Room and common areas were good. Overall property was too cold with low temps overnight at 32. Service was very bad. Instructions to access the property were followed and could not access the property. Texted and called the owner and still have not heard back 3 days later. Luckily found another way in but if not, not sure what we would have done with no way to get in touch with someone.
Hilton name with the price but ghetto .
This location was the more expensive option among the 6 other hotels in a 4mile radius . Usually Hiltons are nice but this one was very run down . Think staying in a $50 less a night hotel would have been the same . I really made my decision on this hotel due to having an indoor pool for my kids. Breakfast is at a charge and a bottle of water is $3 . Also to top the cake parking is another charge.
Had to pay for parking and the buffet for breakfast and both extremely overpriced for what you get. Was disappointed in that. One tv did not work in room and the bathrooms were nor that clean. Towels very harsh and gave my granddaughter a rash.
Our room looked like it was under construction. The furniture had big stains on them. I stayed 3 nights and the restaurant and bar was opened only one night. If I had known this I would’ve stayed at this hotel. Plus my husbands truck was broken into and the front desk clerk could have cared less.
They tried to charge for parking right upfront even though it is advertised on Expedia that it has free parking. I put a $50 hold on your credit card for incidentals that they will refund only after five days. There was no furniture in the room except for two beds. There were two desk, with no desk chairs. The coffee maker was nonfunctioning. This was definitely a terrible experience for $152. This is something you would expect from a Motel 6. Also, last but not least we tried to check in a half hour early and they wanted to charge a $50 early check-in fee, even though the room was available. Would not recommend this place.
Ask About Renovations
Good service, good room, good location. Didn't like have to paying for parking. Did not like the fact that entire floor was undergoing renovation. For 1 night no problem, but would not stay there for multiple nights during renovation.
Good location and helpful staff. Property was “tired”. Blinds inoperable, lampshade cracked and water-stained. Hallways were under construction. Hope the rooms will be next.
The only good thing about this property was the location.
I liked how close it was to the airport, I wasn’t a big fan of having to pay to park there but it wasn’t expensive. The staff was very friendly! The pool was very tiny but there wasn’t anyone using it when we were there so it wasn’t bad!
There is an 8$ charge to park your car with no other options to park. The breakfast buffet which was a normal mediocre Buffett found in most 2-3 star hotels was 15$. I got eggs and potato with sausage for 14. The water in room was 3$. Most but not all of these things would be free. The hot water took 25 minutes before it was hot in the morning. I ended up taking a cold shower. The staff is very nice. I waited 10 minutes to check in while the agent finisher cigarette outside. The room was clean
The room was big. Enjoyed the extra space.
Bathroom equipment was broken down.
Nice and quiet. Time to clean the hallway carpets tho. 4 stars
Kids weekend
Kids running all over the place. Parents in the bar didn’t seem to care . Kids dirtied the pool and used all the towels to where no other guest could enjoy. Staff was great but seemed to be short staffed. Bartender was also playing cook for the restaurant
Short staffed for being booked
Saturday night was booked solid. Kids running everywhere. Bartender was by herself and having to cook as well.
We had issues with our original room but Melody from the front desk worked hard to help figure out a solution to get us in a new room. She is so sweet, got us breakfast slips and helped us get points for Hilton rewards. I wish I could be her friend, she’s honestly so cool and helpful.
Clean and quiet hotel !
Was surprised that you had to pay for parking
Great Hotel
I love this hotel. Staying here every single time I come to San Antonio
Needs some work
Great!!
The property was great however the sewage smell in the bathroom was horrendous.
The staff were great and more than accommodating ,my only issue and why this isn’t 5 stars is that my phone inside the room didn’t work at all and it was an inconvenience to get room service I had to go down to the lobby each time me and my family needed something but all in all great staff rooms were comfortable and I will be going back if I’m Ever in San Antonio again
We were surprised how good this property was. The beds were much better than most hotels. The water pressure was great and the temperature was great in the shower. It was relatively quiet that we could hear other people in their rooms adjoining in on top of us. The window shades were pretty good as we like to sleep late. We were surprised. Also by the checkout time of noon which is late at the most hotels. I would highly recommend staying here again.
Immaculate room and laundry available onsite for quick washing
Friendly staff
Confusing that there are two Hilton Garden Inn Airport hotels in San Antonio
Great price and place
Great little home away from home. Great price, staff was friendly, hotel was safe and clean.
Everything was great except for the overnight staff person checking guests in. He was rude and behaved as if I was bothering him . Attitude was uncalled for. It was 3-4 am and I was exhausted from my drive . Big difference from the morning staff. The morning staff was so pleasant.
Friendly and clean
Some of the staff were curt.
Due to glitch with software update, our room was not ready @check in time, escorted to room to get in Everytime, no key cards. Completely understandable. Another person was there to check in, she was extremely RUDE, unprofessional, yelling at me across the lobby in roomful of strangers. I asked to have a manager available when I came back down, she said NO! i have NEVER been treated so horribly and embarrassed! Over a pet form. I will NEVER go to a Hilton hotel or anything associated with Hilton AGAIN
The location of this property is near many shopping sites. I didn’t have to drive too far to find what I needed. Also the people were friendly and helpful. I did feel welcomed.
Do not stay here!!!
I do not recommend staying here. Hotel is located in a bad side of town. A person had his tail lights stolen on our first day there. Property was not well maintained. The light for the pool was on and floating at the top of the pool water. Also, jacuzzi was broken. Rooms smelled musty but appeared to be clean. No new towels were provided to us upon request due to the hotel not having any linen available. All linen was being cleaned. They were supposed to bring towels to our room when they became available but we never received. We spent 3 days, two nights with only two initial towels. This was a horrible experience.
Clean. But I was told parking was not safe
Courteous staff, clean room!
No round trip shuttle, they use Lyft.
There is no true shuttle. The ride guy at the counter calls you a Lyft.
Stay away from San Antonio
Came in for a work trip. I got put into a handicap room so that was nice because it was big and roomy… Throughout the night I noticed my A/C was not working well and I had it set on 60. In the morning I had little water pressure and zero hot water.. the. I go to my truck and was surprised by an attempted break in. I hate San Antonio and I hope I never have to stay overnight there again. The folks at the hotel were super nice and it wasn’t their fault. But security cameras all around would be nice.
Recommend!
Great location, pet friendly, affordable with a touch of luxury
Clean and friendly staff
Mel upfront was the bomb. Soo sweet. I had the noodle veggie Alfredo sauce dinner at the Bistro. Yummy
We had a long travel day. The website said they had a Bar & Grill. I was anticipating having a glass of wine with something to eat. They did not provide wine....and it didn't look like they had food. They said it would be a 5 minute walk to the nearest place that served wine. Also, the person at the front desk was more interested in with what was playing on his computer than helping us. While it was a very nice hotel, I will probably not stay there again.
Great stay
I wasn’t too thrilled with the fact that the POS system wasn’t updated and could not take my AMEX to pay for my dinner and breakfast.
Overall experience was great.
Hotel was nice and clean. We enjoyed the indoor pool.
Breakfast not included, hotel rate is high for without breakfast.
Super nice place! So clean and comfy!
Front desk was very friendly.
I paid for my stay and did not get to be in my room because they didn’t have a physical card to swipe even though I paid digitally and had my card digitally. So they declined my stay and was forced to stay over night at the airport on military orders
We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is super clean and beautiful decorated, very modern. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Terrible service. Long wait to check in. Very rude and lazy employees.
Great customer service
Absolutely loved this location and whenever we are in San Antonio this is where we will stay. Mel P. and Jan were very accommodating. We checked and the room next to ours had two dogs barking I did not want an issue with trying to sleep so I asked if we could possibly change rooms and they were so helpful and even allowed us to switch when we came back from dinner. Then the next day my daughter has an allergic reaction to something that touched her face, I asked if we could switch to a different type of pillow and they quickly gave us another one which worked. Customer service is goes above and beyond.
Convinient location
Room was clean and hotel was quiet. The indoor pool was small but nice.
We enjoyed the property for a week stay. We enjoyed the rooms and the daily breakfast!
Close to the airport
The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was sopotless!
Friendly staff
Checking in was easy and friendly; Front Office manager Mel was delightful!
Great Stay
It was the best. We will be staying there again
We stayed overnight on the 9th of March. Our check in person was awesome, very nice, helpful and personable. The hotel was very well kept, nice sized room. It is near the airport and highway, so we expected ambient noise to be raised due to location and that was the case. We also had some very noisy neighbors who apparently thought it was a good time to have an all night argument with a crying child, but that is not the hotel's fault. It just didn't help as I had a 4 AM wake up on a night we lost an hour due to time change. Only thing we found odd was the air freshener in the elevator. We thought it was someone's bad cologne at first......maybe find a new scent and put a sign that the vapors you see are from the air freshener. Overall, would highly recommend.
Not the best check in experience but the hotel was clean and room was large
Conveniently located
The place is nice. Conveniently located. Near shopping mall/outlets. Good restaurants in the area. The room is very spacious. The restroom space is tight. The staff is helpful, but not friendly.
Hilton Garden Inn San Antonio Airport South | Hotel in San Antonio | Travala.com
For a hotel to be designated for the San Antonio airport you would think it would be really nice hotel. The rooms pictured on the website that I thought I booked for is not what I was given when I arrived to my room. The inside of the hotel didn’t match the outside cleaness of the hotel. It looked like they were in the middle of remodeling with dirty carpets in the halls and all the trim was remove and not painted over to even look decent. It was not made known on the website that you have to pay for parking during each day that your staying.
