Loved it! Pool is small but very clean
There was a lot of noise and hard to sleep due to snow removal
Stay at Hilton Portland
Loved my stay at the Hilton Portland! Staff very helpful and friendly and accomodations wonderful. Breakfast and dinner was delicious!
The only the thing that was wrong was that the clock alarm went off at 6 AM and it took us a few minutes to shut it off. By that time I was wide awake. Perhaps it would be a good idea for the wait staff to make sure that the clock alarm is off when a new guest is coming in.
Attentive and friendly staff. Clean, comfortable.
Great hotel overall- only downfall is floor 5 is under construction- the saws and hammers started on Saturday at 9am - if your looking to sleep in or take a mid day nap - book a lower floor. Pool area and fitness room was not clean! Staff and food were amazing
Perfect
They have the most comfortable beds and very clean rooms. Great staff as well
Always have a great stay here!
This hotel is in a great location if you want to explore Portland. It is clean, accommodating, and the staff is always very friendly and helpful.
One reason we booked here was for the hottub- unfortunately it wasn't working
Good
Perfect location and the staff is amazing
Our second stay here.
First time staying there and first time using valet parking. Sam was a great valet attendant - super friendly. Check-in was easy. Hotel was nice and clean. I did find the menu at the restaurant a bit limited for supper and the server not the friendliest. Quick walk to Merrill Auditorium.
Good
excellent experience. The staff and property is A
In the heart of everything
Nice hotel right in the heart of the waterfront action. Walkable to shops, dining, ferry, etc. Valet parking is the only parking available but it is fast and you don’t need your car for this area so it’s not inconvenient.
Great
Friendly staff from valet, front desk & breakfast.
Hotel was nice but valet parking was required and the fee was ridiculous. In addition there was a lot directly next door to the hotel, empty, for about half what the hotel was charging. The valet practically snatched the car frim us when we arrived and we ended up having to go to the garage to retrieve several items from the car.
Great place
Great location! Friendly staff! Great accommodations!!
Love this hotel
The employees are just amazing and so helpful and the lobby is warm and comfortable. Great views and location. My go to hotel when in Portland.
Good experience. Would not hesitate to go back there
Right in the heart of the Old Port. Plenty of shopping and dining options. The staff was pleasant and friendly. No issues here and would stay here again.
Computer breakdown slowed check in
We truly enjoyed our visit.
We chose this hotel to return to because it has a nice pool and jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was not functioning and we never received notification of this amenity not working until arrival. The area around the hotel has a large population of unhoused people. It was very sad for us to see with the cold weather and people living in business entries. The front desk was a mixed bag, some friendly staff and one woman who was clearly not friendly and curt in her answers to questions. The front desk also didn’t give us much help with things to do in the area. The hotel itself is nice and clean, quiet and the breakfast was really good. For some reason they don’t light the fireplace in the lobby, which makes no sense. It would make it more welcoming and enjoyable for all to have it lit. We were there 3 days and it wasn’t on at all. The hotel is close to everything. We recommend taking the Casco Bay mailboat around to the islands to see the bay and maybe even spot seals. It is steps from the hotel. Overall this hotel is good, but not great.
Nice hotel
Perfect for a weekend away
Great location, spacious rooms.
I stayed in room 518 it was an amazing view. I would really recommend the stay at this hotel
Rooms could use some upgrades
A ten
Everything great. Wonderful staff!
Absolutely great!
Breakfast was a pleasant surprise. Very good, made to order.
Everything was really nice and clean! Everyone was super friendly and helpful, the hotel was super convenient.
Our room was very clean and bed was extremely comfortable. This location was very conveniently located to all that Old Port has to offer…especially an amazing bakery located adjacent to the hotel property.
Very convenient location. Portland is so special. Very clean and active. The victorian houses there are so beautiful
Very convenient hotel in Portland. Walkable to several dining and shopping options.
Nice and quite
Great location
Staff did not take to any conversation regarding missed steps regarding lack of cleaning service in the room and lack of clean towels. Staff suggested things I could have done to cause a lack of hospitality services such as cleaning services. Quality of services received were poor. Lobby furnishing was dirty with visible food spots to include red drippings on arms of chairs. I was told I did not receive maid service because the housekeeping manager was "MIA" all day. Given a handicap room by mistake and I was told "whoever" booked the room requested a handicapped accessible room when I booked the room myself. There was an excess for every mishap that never received an apology for any inconvenience experienced. I will no longer consider becoming a Hilton Rewards member as suggested when I booked the room because they offered superior service beyond Marriott's capability. Such an industry insult due to the poor experience of myself and 2 other guest in my party. Water front property was a mis-interpretation as I was told to stand diagonal at the window. I was informed it was fruitless to complain so instead I will stay away from Hilton and advise others to do the same especially as we plan our next NEA, PGCEA, and MD conventions.
Excellent location. Close to many restaurants and shops. Right across from harbor. Little pricey for time of year. Elevator was way too slow and made some crazy sounds. Coffee was empty in the morning when I went down. They charged my Jeep for me when they valeted it. That was nice!
Very nice dog friendly hotel in the heart of downtown, wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else after our stay!
It was ideally located for what we needed. Staff at the front and in the restaurant were welcoming and kind. Room was clean and perfect for what my family needed.
Very well situated with nice views. Close to most piers and wharfs.
Beautiful hotel right by the water. Lots of great options for dining and the staff gave us great recommendations! Rooms were very nice!
Overall really great experience and staff was super helpful and friendly. Our only issue was that the hot tub temp was way too high. I love hot water but it was so hot that we couldn’t even get in. You may want to check in this as it could be dangerously hot. Again, overall a great stay!!
The staff was terrific. Free breakfast was great.
Enjoyed our time at this hotel, morning manager was very nice and helpful throughout our stay. She offered great suggestions on things to do as this was our first time in Portland. The only negative was the water pressure and hot water was lacking, went from warm to cool while showering. On site breakfast was nice and prices were good.
Great hotel
Very little water pressure in the shower.
It was nice
Good location
Location was perfect as it was very easily walkable to everything we wanted to see/do and both restaurants where we had dinner reservations. Front desk staff was friendly and valet service was very quick whenever we needed our car. Room was comfortable but bathrooms could use updating. The water pressure in the shower was low and water never really got more than lukewarm.
Ok hotel, a little annoying that valet parking is required to be paid for and no other option.
Convenient and nice accommodations.
This was an ideal location, within walking distance of dining options and our scheduled city tour starting point. The hotel was top notch. A free breakfast would have been nice.
We had a wonderful time, the hotel is located in the middle of town and we were close to restaurant, bars and shopping.
We rented on of the suites, which we normally don't do. It was AWESOME for the huge window views and space. Fun way to spend the night.
Enjoyed our stay...wish we had a better view but only rooms without view were left. Unfortunately we saw a number of homeless persons in the area since last we visited
From the valet parking to the reception desk, and all staff involved, was an excellent experience. However, the nightmare began once in the room. Found room in excellent condition but lacking hangers; once requested, waited over an hour for requested hangers to arrive. Safe in room, located in closet, was not secured to the closet wall, came loose from it anchor and nearly crushed my foot. Once this situation was reported, took another day to resolve the issue. Hotel failed to clean room, make up beds and provide clean towels, during the attempted repair of the safe. The only saving grace was the action of staff members for the restaurant during breakfast, who provided excellent service - thanks to Amber and Sylvia. I have to credit the Guest Service Manager, who responded immediately to my “Guest Survey” and refunded my entire valet parking cost for my 3 nights’ stay. And, informed me, via email, that this situation will be used as a strong lesson for staff improvements. Willing to return if these issues are resolved.
The staff was respectful and friendly. The mom & daughter at the morning breakfast are absolutely lovely! Always had a smile and just had the best service to start the day! Valet service guys were top notch!
Very clean hotel and room. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was good. Close to everything for shopping and restaurants. It’s right across the street from the Ferry to Peaks Island, which was worth the time to explore there. (Definitely rent a golf cart to get around the island). Gorgeous sites!
Nice overnight stay. Did not like the $50 they charged when i checked in. 35 a day for parking and 15 credit to use if not you get it back. Have not got it credited back 2 days later. If i wanted a 15 credit i would have asked. Seemed dumb
The hotel room was exactly what we needed and the service was excellent. The pool and jacuzzi could use a bit of maintenance though.
Nice hotel! Would stay there again!!
In middle of everything Portland has to offer.
Nice Hotel at Super Location! Proximity to the Portland waterfront figured heavily in choosing the Hilton Garden Inn Portland Downtown Waterfront (long name, that!) for our recent three-night stay. And it worked very well for us. You are right on Portland Harbor. When I opened the curtains the first morning, a cruise ship looked like it was about to sail right into our room! The hotel itself was clean and attractive. There are many restaurants just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. We had only one meal (breakfast) at the hotel, and it was excellent. The bar area was pleasant and not crazy or noisy. Not a biggie, but our room was not cleaned anytime during our stay. It seems that if you have your ‘Later’ tag on the door in the morning, that’s it, you don’t get a second chance, although I’m sure we could have requested a cleaning. Overall, the Hilton Garden Inn Portland Downtown Waterfront did the trick for us!
Great trip! Fantastic location! Clean!
Clean, comfortable bed, roomy, great location.
they charged my electrical vehicle for free, which was the reason I chose this hotel!
Great location. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Clean and comfortable.
Hotel was easy to locate and park at. Staff was friendly and helpful
Front desk was friendly and efficient
The location is great and the breakfast is good!
I always stay at Hilton if the location is right, and this one was walking distance from several great eateries, shops, and the harbor. Spacious room, 24/7 valet parking, and attached restaurant. No safe in some of the rooms yet, but valet monitors the parking garage and recommended placing valuables in vehicles as needed. The hotel was a bit dated in design, but well kept with no major issues. They even had Ethernet cables for Internet access, which is slowly becoming an extinct luxury. Wi-Fi is free at reduced speeds and paid for full speed - full speed suited my gaming needs.
10/10 would stay again
Housekeeping could be better.
Awesome Stay!
This hotel gets top marks in the most important qualities: Cleanliness, Friendliness and Location! Upon arrival the front desk staff were so upbeat, helpful and kind. The valet staff were equally friendly. The room was spotless, the lobby is vibrant and you're within walking distance of great shops, restaurants, and walking paths. Great stay!
Conveniently located. Staff at front desk and dining are very friendly and helpful. Liquid shampoo dispenser didn’t get filled so that’s the only annoyance that found out while in the shower.
The location
The shower pressure was weak. We told the front desk, but didnt see a defference. We mentioned this and they accommodated us with not charging us for the valet parking. I thought that was fair.
The hotel was very close to a variety of dining and activity options. We parked the car which was only valet and didn't use it until our checkout. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast, and they had nice options to choose from. We did try to use the hot tub but the jets were not working.
Beautiful hotel, everyone was friendly. Walking distance to everything
Hotel was great convenient to all the area activities food choices are great and varied
It’s a beautiful luxurious hotel. It is near all great restaurants and tours. The staff was extra helpful and we felt totally taken care of at this hotel.
Close to ahip
Great location for being downtown. The staff was great. It was clean and quiet in our room. The hotel is very outdated so I feel we overpaid even considering the peak season pricing. Other options
I like the property because it seems safe and Family friendly. It’s is also cleaned and practical.
Portland ME Waterfront
We had the best trip to Portland Maine. The hotel was clean, friendly and accommodating to our every need. They even had lists of recommended restaurants and 'must-see' sights for the area! I would definitely stay here again.
My only complaint was the hit or miss with the WiFi but it was a very pleasant stay
Stayed one night only on our way through and it was a great stop. Friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms and excellent location to explore Portland.
Clean room and big space , convenient for walking to restaurants and bay side. Great breakfast.
The room was a little tired. Could use a fresh rug.
It’s right across the street from the port. Easy to navigate to places near by, a ton of options on where to eat, things and stores to see. A lot of locally made items! It’s still near everything without being too close, very clean, and the staff was great!
Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable!!
Great stay..loved the accommodations.
Rooms are meh but good location!
Great location on the waterfront with lots of dining options. The room and hotel were clean and updated. The pool was smaller than expected. The only negative was the hot tub jets did not work.
