I liked almost everything about this property, the location, facilities and convenience . What I didn’t like is that the area is very lonely at night
This property needs an upgrade- beds are sagging, linens are dated, bathroom is in need of new fixtures and overall the hotel needs new paint, carpets, etc.
Perfect location and within walking distance to see so many sights!
None
We really enjoyed our stay
Staff and room were very good. Thermostat did click loudly when heat restarted throtye night.
Exceptional location. Front desk staff and house keeping went about their duties to welcome us. Would recommend and book again.
My business trip
Hotel was in a nice quiet section of Chelsea in the Flower District. Convenient to restaurants, subways and other services.
Sleep and leave
No bar open- lobby small - no bathroom on lobby floor . No restaurant open after breakfast.
The location of this property was extremely convenient for public transit & walk to time square & k-town
It was an excellent stay. The team was very helpful and polite. I plan to stay with them again in the near future.
I really enjoyed my stay. All the staff members were helpful, polite, and friendly. The room was good, but the air conditioning was quite noisy, and some of the doors need a bit of attention as the paint is peeling. During the time the staff is cleaning the rooms, there may be some congestion in the two elevators, but it doesn’t interfere with the stay. I will definitely stay with them again when I return to NY. I liked it.
7 days stay during NYE
The hotel’s location is convenient, with easy access to amenities and metro stations. While the hotel is good, the room size does not justify the expense; it is perceived as quite expensive. The hotel is in need of refurbishment. I would recommend to skip the breakfast if it’s not included in your package, as there are many nearby restaurants and diners offering similar options at comparable prices. Half of our stays we got back to the hotel after midnight and there were no staff members at the reception after 2 a.m., which raised security concerns for the guests staying at the hotel. Overall If you're looking for a more special, modern, and secure option, it’s recommended to explore other hotels in the same street.
Great stay for a quick turnaround trip! The morning staff was very welcoming and helpful. We had an early appointment at 11am. We were able to pre-check in and drop our bags. This courtesy made our initial experience great! Also the hotel texted when our room was ready. When we returned to check into our room the female attendant wasn’t very friendly. I asked about complimentary waters. She said they were for Hilton Honors members and I told her I was. She said, “Well you booked this with Expedia.” I told her I understand that but when I confirmed the booking Hilton sales still gave me 500 points to thank me for my stay. Also I’ve never been denied something as simple as water considering my membership. This was unfortunately a downside to my stay. Otherwise, I enjoyed my time here.
Great location, friendly staff
Landed super early from a red eye flight with kids. Front desk was kind enough to let my kids crash in a spare room. Overall staff was nice and accommodating. Booked a double queen room which seems rare in NYC that is also affordable. Room (4th floor) itself was a bit cold even with the heater turned up as there was a breeze coming from the window during a cold freeze. Spare room on a different floor seem not as cold. Location was near several subway lines. Outside of the hotel could use some work, saw a homeless person taking a dump out front in a bush up on check in (not the hotel's fault)
Great location. Staff were also great. Beds and elevator not great
3/10 stay
The location was good, very central to a lot of things. The hotel in itself needs some up keeping. Shower was very dirty, still have previous hotel guests hair. Yuck! The carpets are very old and stained. Bedding needs replacing. You can see mattress and the sheets looked very old. At least put a bed skirt so it doesn’t look too bad. The walls are very thin, you can hear EVERYTHING!!! Every morning we heard the service lady on the phone screaming and having a conversation when we were trying to get some rest. Anyway, the hotel really needs improvement. I will say front desk was always kind. Thank you
Great staff, clean and good location.
It was great! Felt like home!
Helpful staff!
Room location was next to ice machine which started malfunctioning in the middle of the night. Machine was blaring such loud awful sounds that practically were in our room. Called to speak with front desk and was told that this happens all the time, and that it’s expected. He didn’t want to unplug the machine as he was reprimanded when doing so in the past. What? Why would you use this room and intentionally disrupt the guest if other rooms are available?
Great
The check is very quick. The location is so convenient.
.
Same as my last review.
Great staff cool location
I liked the room not too small for NYC the breakfast area and staff were very nice downside--no shampoo or toothpaste
Lovely property and right in the heart of us being able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Definitely recommend and will stay again on our next NYC adventure!!
Great location
I would have given it a five out of five, but my only issue was the extreme loud unnecessary noise from housekeepers talking obnoxiously loud and going in and out the door, slamming it every 10 seconds starting at 8 o’clock in the morning and having it going on for hours on in. That is very inconsiderate, knowing that there is guests are still sleeping or trying to relax, where is the professionalism with the house keepers? Other than that, the staff at the front desk were very nice, professional and very helpful.
Great peaceful location. Really enjoyed walking by the flower shops and their gardens set up out on the streets. Made for an incredible experience.
Wonderful staff
Disappointing but good location and staff.
Pros: Great location close to red line subway and walkable (20 ish minutes) to Empire State, we also walked further to Rockefeller Plaza. Staff friendly and helpful. Cons: Room small and stark needing updates. Got assigned ADA bathroom and when taking a shower, entire bathroom floor would get wet. Part of shower floor with black mildew?along edge - was pretty gross. Beds comfortable but blankets old and thin, we had to call and ask for extras and gave us light comforters (which were good, wonder why they weren’t there in the first place?)…box springs on beds exposed. Felt like being in a dorm room. Needs hooks for towels and coats. Street noisy as well - garbage trucks collecting trash at 11pm, windows closed but noise levels were like they were open- we won’t stay here again but got the basics for 2 queen beds/family of 4. I’d spend a little more to get a better quality room…
Room ambience is good.
Wasn’t bad wasn’t great. Front desk staff were very kind. Cleaning service came very late in the day at like 4p so no new towels or things until late. The restaurant had very weird hours, never saw it open. Prob won’t stay here again
Overall was a great stay More of a value hotel but was sufficient for our needs while visiting New York City Friendly staff and overall clean and comfortable
The property is a bit ran down but the cleaning service was amazing our room was always clean and tidy!
It was decent. Much better than Hilton Garden Inn Midtown South!
We had a great time there!
Dirty hotel
We booked 2 rooms. One room wasn’t ready till 6.30 and the other room not till later. The rooms were not clean properly, Someone else’s hair in the bathroom. No mattress cover, only a sheet. My son’s room was not clean and the mattress cover was covered in stains. This hotel is very run down. The staff were nice and friendly.
Our overall stay was Average. The front Desk staff was great and very helpful especially when we first got there. Very convenient location to where everything is in Time Square.
EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PROPERTY WAS PHENOMENAL!!! The staff was extremely courteous and assisted us with our delayed check-in as the room wasn’t quite ready when we arrived but Kim and Michael held our luggage while we explored the city some and met every need we had while we stayed here! I would definitely stay again!
I have to change room because the first room we had was not cleaned. I saw trash and pile of hair next to the door. The next room we transferred was almost the same. Electrical socket was hanging and window curtains were broken. Very loud too and our next door neighbor was loud in the middle of the night that I have to inform front desk about it.
Staff super friendly
.
Once I got situated, I realized shower did not function correctly. Is located in a good location but even taxi's / ubers could not find on way back because of unclear signage. Would not stay again.
Clean rooms. Hallway had some musty smells though. Windows had drafts coming through, and the cold weather kept the heater running constantly however it was still comfortable.i don’t pay the heating bill so I wasn’t too concerned. Staff were friendly and helpful . Subway just down the street. And easy to walk to local attractions. No complaints will consider staying here next trip if price is reasonable .
They don’t have the rooms ready by Check in time, no apologies by the delay, if they have a busy time you would think that, managers would schedule more staff on busy times.
NYC for Christmas
Decent stay. The hotel is definitely older and the pictures do not show some of its age but overall it was a decent stay. The location is very good.
Party of two in a high floor room. Room might be small but comfortable. Bathroom was clean and had hot water available. Highly recommend for its strategic location as everything is easily accesible by Subway (2min walks) and walking distance to landmarks around (TS being the farthest at 18mins). Only observation would be that there are two elevators available which could delay a bit on getting around the 24 floors available. Would stay again.
The room & facilities were clean, although a bit old(peeling ceiling and tub in the shower area). The staff was friendly and helpful. We really liked the proximity to the subway. It made getting around the city easy to navigate (and inexpensive). I'd stay there again.
Great location and staff is so friendly and accommodating!
Buena experiencia y muy central
Good location.
Very solid hotel experience and convenient to MSG especially for the price. Room was clean and staff was “New York” friendly. Only complaint was the bed. Mattress was adequate at best and angled towards the wall. Will be sure to stay here again!
Property is well located , housekeeping staff is very friendly. The hotel room is dark , needs more light . The girl with the bang at the FD is rude , but the others were very polite.
I like that our room is clean and comfortable, the housekeeping is commendable for taking care of our beds, towels, coffee etc. The property is a few steps away to Macy’s and Empire State Building, Metro Station, Madison Square Garden. Safe to walk back to the hotel at night. The hotel staffs are accommodating and pleasant.
Nice room nice views
Nice room, had everything we needed, our little home away from home during our trip. Staff was friendly and the hotel was very close to the subway station. Thank you Garden Hilton staff at the Chelsea location! Adding views from room
On side street (28th), so quieter than hotels on the big avenues. Manhattan is VERY noisy.
It was a good stay in the center of Manhattan. All the usual tourist places were easily walkable, especially the area around time square. The hotel itself was a standard Hilton. The rooms were a little small (typical for Manhattan), but clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and supportive. I can recommend it. The only thing you have to keep in mind is the sounds of the city also at night (sirens, cars and so on).
The staff were amazing and very helpful. It was in a convenient location. The rooms were very small and need updating. I would stay there again however.
Don’t buy the breakfast
Not what I was expecting from a Hilton. I included the breakfast when I purchased the room to save some trouble. Every Hilton I’ve ever been to the breakfast has been worth it. They literally charged $20 per person for grocery store pastries. I talked to them about it and they wouldn’t refund any money or give me a credit for the hot breakfast that the restaurant served. Absurd. Literally no one is going to be happy paying you $20 per person per day for a pastry they can walk down to 7-Eleven and get. Total of $120 wasted and not used during the stay.
Great hotel and walkable to any main tourist attraction
Property has a lot of damage and I didn’t feel secure inside there is not security and everyone can get in and use the elevator
We came for Christmas and it was absolutely magical. We only pretty much slept in the hotel and got clean and the staff kept our room very clean and tidy and brought fresh towels every day and emptied our trash. And the beds are super comfy. It was great.
Good location. Older hotel, renovated. Breakfast was not included in our package - this was confusing. It then cost $18 per person for continental breakfast (toast, bagel, juice) or more, for eggs, etc. The AC/heat unit in the room was extremely noisy.
The stay was perfect!
My stay at the hotel was not bad but the hotel definitely needs some renovations.
Very good, exceeded my expectations!
Manhattan Chelsea Stay
Location was fantastic to walk everywhere and staff were super friendly abd helpful. The smell of ciagrette smoke coking in through the cent in our room (9th floor) and in our floor was terrible. Also, no hooks of any type to hang wet towels. And, heater was quite loud.
The Heating is so noisy and not working properly. The view is just back the to the buildings.
Friendly and efficient staff, very helpful. Room was clean and spacious, good bathroom. Mini fridge and microwave, iron, hair dryer among the amenities. Building in an area full of construction, so noisy and confused, unfortunately. The breakfast was included, but the “continental” buffet was very limited. Location very convenient. Would come back, hopefully after all the construction is done.
Worst hotel property ever. Pathetic response from the staff. No hospitality.
Great place to stay
Great, safe location. Converted apt building. Like many nyc hotels now. Friendly front desk. Very clean and safe. Convenient to subways. Plenty of food shops all around. Near many attractions
Bathroom faucet very loose. Needs tightening. Breakfast buffet was average at best. Many Hampton Inns have better buffets.. Location is great for toyrists!!@ Close to Penn Station
This hotel needs attention. First off there is no security and anyone off the street can get up to the rooms. Secondly the elevators are sketchy and some buttons are missing. The rooms need updating. The paint on the ceilings is peeling. The beds are sagging and the sheets don’t fit so they pop off on the corners. Not Hilton quality at all.
Awesome welcome
Great property, walking distance to all the sights.
First NYC christmas trip
The beds were comfortable but for the price of the room, it was very small and the bathroom was outdated. The provided shampoo, conditioner and body wash had a very pleasant smell. Not sure if the windows were supposed to be sound proof but if not, they should be. We were on 12th floor and could hear all the sirens and honking like we were on the ground floor and the vehicles were right outside our window.
Great location with quick walks to subway and great restaurants near by. The actual hotel is very old but kept clean. Definitely not worth the price that we paid in December for it being a Hilton brand hotel. Staff was nice and helpful.
Great place to stay close to a ton of tourist spots. Room was well kept and had a great view of the city!
The room had the sufficient amenities for a quick stay
Room temperature
Need to adjust the temperature of the room frequently
NY Fun
The location and staff were amazing!
Not worth it, poor condition
The hotel staff was amazing, very friendly, and helpful! The bathroom was clean, and there was hot water. The TV was working, too, and there were TV channels available. The price is definitely not worth it—the property is in poor condition: the elevators' doors and walls were scratched, there were only two of them of small size (overcrowded on mornings), and both were shaking while moving. Some lamps in the room didn't work, and the coffee machine didn't work. There was also no shower gel. The entrance to the building is under scaffolding and there were almost no "city views". I'd rather go to ALoft (not an ad; I just saw it when I was around), which is just in front of this property, or avoid this area. As I said, the hotel staff was excellent and saved our trip.
Returning at the end of January
It is well located but rooms and bathrooms look very worn. AC can scare you with the noise ( sounded like an ice maker!!). My bathroom wall art fell when I was turning the shower on, all shattered pieces were spread out. Reported it and the only cleaned the big pieces. Nobody asked if I was ok ( got a small cut in my arm wrist
The woman at the front desk was so so lovely!! I think her name was Kim.
Room linen and bathroom was dirty. The housekeeper was very rude and didn’t want to change the linen. Then stated they ran out of linen. There was hair on linen and sink. They things happened sometimes, but to have poor customer service is another. I even had to call housekeeping twice.
Perfect location for us next to the 28TH St Metro … easy to navigate all of Manhattan … rooms look bigger on the website but manageable … nice that they have a coffee maker, microwave and fridge - highly recommend going to a local gourmet deli for in room staples because eating out everyday is very, very pricey … excellent staff that took care of everything that came up as the lobby was busy everyday with guests coming and going …
Muy pequeño he incómodo.
Terrible customer service
Honestly, the hotel was OK. The people at the front desk were really sweet and made the experience 10 times better but the things I’m going to complain about our out of their control I’m sure but the front desk customer service is a 10 out of 10. My problem is the mold in the rooms and bathroom and the cleanliness of the sheets. It was a lot of stains and the toilet was dirty so if anything is more so a housekeeping issue, honestly I’ll probably shop around more for a hotel room, but for a last minute choice, it got the job done. Thx (:
The hotel was very conveniently located to the subway and Penn station. Check in and check out was a breeze and the staff were super friendly. The room was a bit small and a few cable channels kept lagging with the signal. The bathroom was clean and updated. There are only 2 elevators and can take awhile to get one. Checkout in the morning took 10 minutes to get the elevator to our top floor then stopped several times on the way down. Allow extra time for that upon leaving if you have a shuttle pickup. We didn’t utilize the breakfast option. All in all the stay was nice and I’d recommend staying here.
Centrally located, clean and great staff
Staff was great. Clean rooms. Great location. Be sure to eat pizza around the corner at Ciao Bella
Rough sleepers outside sheltering the scaffolding outside the front door basic bedroom and roll inn bathroom, you have to hand your credit card you paid on to receive your key card, no free upgrade or breakfast given even though I am a platinum member with Expedia / Hotels.com and to top it off never charged anything to the room had breakfast there as it was $20 per person for continental breakfast so spent nothing and on my return home landing at airport had been charged over $300 for nothing as a paid as I go in the shop and charged nothing to the room also gave $40 dollars per staff , receptionist , doorman , cleaner and lobby man in a Christmas card for a rip so now have the hassle of finding out what/ whos bar bill has been charged on my card that I didn’t sign for or get a final bill as I was leaving and will be a hassle to try to get back !!
Average hotel.
Great location
Great location
