The hotel was nice and everything was very clean. The only little issue was the valet manager. As I was checking out and getting my car he was just yelling at all his staff “to hold on” he got a little to stressed out and I thought that was unprofessional, specially in-front of the guest. But other than that everything was smooth.
Compare to other hotel by the river walk that I have been to, this hotel has cheaper parking price $40-50 vs $80-90. Breakfast included, its convenient for family with kids, imagine how crazy when you have to drive to get breakfast for family. Distant to attraction is walkable, if I come back again, for sure i will use hampton Inn.
Room was very clean. Bed was comfy. Pillows should be replaced. Ac was great. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple but did the job. Access to riverwalk was easy.
Love being able to get to the riverwalk out the back door! Very clean and comfortable stay.
Great location
Location of the hotel is wonderful, with great access to the river walk. The resort style pool area is beautiful. There is no parking so you have to find public parking, which is $30 per day. The breakfast area is not well designed and extremely chaotic in the morning. Could hardly find a place to sit and lengthy lines for everything. It is free, so there was not high expectations.
Great service
Love the location on the quite part of the river
Meh
It’s next to an abandoned hotel that is filled with homeless. That building can be loud at night. Also river side views isn’t that great if you get a 4th floor or higher. Get a lower room but be aware that the noise from the river walks will be louder and if you go on busy weekends it can go very late.
Love the convenience to the River Walk. Appreciated the Welcome message on the television as I walked in. Always appreciate the comfort of mattress/bedding of Hampton’s though the pillows seemed not as comfortable as past experiences with other Hampton’s. The comfort of the room was wonderful and beautiful ! The breakfast was not nearly the quality as I have had at previous Hampton’s.
February 2025 5night stay
Arrived just before midnight on the first night and Valet was busy. The unloading area is very small and you are in the street if there are only 3 cars in front. There was no luggage carts available and with a family of 4 we had a few pieces of luggage. No one offered to assist with finding a cart so we had to haul everything in my hand and to our room. Check in was easy and we had the studio apartment room. Room was clean and big. Throughout the hotel some of the flooring was loose and coming up. Several areas had danger signs up or just a rug over the spots. Complementary breakfast was good and everyday was something a little different. Both sides are open only on weekends depending on hotel volume. So on week days get up a little early to avoid waiting in line. When you need your car definitely text 20min in advance because it does take time for them to get your vehicle. When returning they tell you to just leave the keys in it. That makes me feel a little uncomfortable being someone very easily could take your car. When entering the riverwalk from the hotel it is well lit up. Every night after returning from dinner there was homeless sleeping right next to the steps with urine and feces near buy. I guess that’s part of being in a major city.
Everything was great
Hotel staff knocked on the door at midnight and scared us. Said that they did not think anyone was in the room. At the desk they told us they were looking for a hair dryer. We asked for an adjustment, but they said because we booked with Expedia they could not do anything for us.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent with many options. Room was clean and spacious. Looking out the window of the room was a definite draw back. Nasty, dirty rooftop and dilapidated fire escape on another run down building. Needs to be cleaned up, painted. Paint an outdoor grassy mural. Cleaning it up would help We did like the hotel over all
.
Enjoyed everything about our stay
Every thing was perfect
All though the property was beautiful, we had to pay $86 for Vallet parking from a 3rd party that is in the hotel for 2 days, or park 5 blocks away and pay per day. My suggestion would be for you to take an uber, but you will have to walk to everything. Great bar/ restaurant across the street and steakhouse about 5 blocks away. Other than that, we had a balcony view that viewed the riverwalk, but you only see hotels. Still a great view to relax with. Beds are a little too hard but still slept okay. Best part; THE SHOWER!!!!! Spacious walk in and hot water!!! Will definitely return, but not take our personal car.
.
Overall I was happy with stay but when you charged a ridiculous fee for having a dog then when you go to take him out to go to the bathroom the area is so small and disgusting I wouldn’t let any dog use the area.
Good
Very nice, had a balcony view of the riverwalk which made it pretty awesome.
Stay was awesome
Close to everything walking distance
Great place to stay. On the end part of the Riverwalk, but walkable to everything. Staff very helpful and made our stay very pleasant.
Nice place good service , valet was quick and text was convenient, would definitely stay here again . View was also excellent
Love love the balcony!!! Very nice hotel and the staff is amazing
Easy access to riverwalk. Great stay!
Such a beautiful hotel. The area of the river walk it is in is quiet and beautiful especially at night.
Great Location. I recommend
Great location. Way to get around, lots of restaurants and bars in the area, on the river walk, easy to get around. It’s feet having hot breakfast available.
Good
I didn't like that they charged me a $55 deposit and didn't give it back to me, we didn't do any damage to the hotel
Great hotel
Our stay was wonderful. Everyone was very helpful. The hotel was nice and clean. The staff was kind. Everything was good. The eggs were a bit dry and the coffee was very hot. Too hot to hold the cup. A cup holder would help. Over all it is still a 10/10
Anniversary trip
Everything was amazing, I did notice the iron did not get hot but other than that 100% recommend this hotel! In the Riverwalk, beautiful view but still quiet at night! Breakfast service was delicious, we will be back!
Great place
Our room over looked the Riverwalk, very nice, clean, staff was amazingly polite. Anthony greeted us at the desk and he was wonderful! Will come back if we come back to San Antonio.
Relaxing
Staff was friendly. Walking to other areas did not feel safe at night. Daytime was fine. We were approached by homeless people for help but did not feel threatened. Convenient location to Riverwalk.
Probably won’t be back
While I understand that Hampton can’t grant every room request, I asked for a room on the “highest possible floor, away from the elevator” (as I’m a light sleeper and have sound sensitivity). What I got was a first floor room, closest to the elevator. I got no sleep whatsoever as the loud music playing overhead in the common areas was on ALL NIGHT LONG. Also outside our first-floor room was a homeless encampment in the underbelly of a decrepit building. Feet from our windows. So not only could we not open the blinds the whole time, but we were a little creeped out. Also, I had purchased a studio room (NOT an accessible room- on the website there’s a difference), and did in fact get an accessible room. This meant no lip on the shower so every time we showered, the water went all over the bathroom floor. Definitely a slip-and-fall risk. In addition, the first two times that the bathroom sink faucet was used, the aerator came shooting off and water spurted everywhere over the vanity. I had to screw it back on myself. I was really hoping our stay at SA Riverwalk would’ve been a better one.
Love this hotel staff is amazing
Very clean and wonderful staff
It was convenient to many things.
Loved the stay and the walking distance to riverwalk and attractions.
Nice convenient hotel if you are visiting SA.
The HSKP who cleaned my room on 12/31 was a very attentive. Breakfast was wonderful, all front desk was very friendly. The bathroom sink was clogged, two elevators out of service. With all those people, we waited a long time to go up to the room.
It was great
N
Overall I enjoyed our stay, it was very nice and clean. Breakfast was great, you don’t get many hotels downtown with this option. I must point out that my son left a valuable item behind when we checked out and the housekeeper was honest to turn it in so I was able to recover it. Good to know there are still honest people in this world. I would definitely stay here again.
We wanted a balcony room and booked one on advance. Unfortunately that room was not available at checkin
Very clean
The place was very clean. All of the employees were very cordial and respectful except the people from the valet parking. This is a busy place so expect a delay for they to bring the car back to you. Elevators take a little bit longer. They have three but only 2 work. Breakfast was good but they only have 4 waffles makers and 2 1/2 minutes per waffle for the amount of guest not Enough. Now they do have different options for breakfast. My room has view to the riverwalk which was beautiful. Overall very nice place to stay. I do recommend and planing to come back.
The room was really nice and clean. Felt very welcoming would definetly come back again !
Nice property. Clean and updated. Only parking is valet which is expensive and takes time to get your car however staff is friendly.
Just OK
It was just OK, Parking cost way to much, breakfast was crowded and mostly gone mid morning never ate there, bed slept good, very plain room no pictures on walls.
It was an excellent hotel, i am born and raised in San Antonio and i am very impressed. Highly recommended
Nice place
Came down for the marathon. Reserved a king size bed when we got to the hotel was informed they didn’t have one available. My father in law came in a little later and magically they had one. We normally stayed here when we come down. Overall nice place to stay. A little expensive but not a bad option.
Love it super clean we love it.
An exceptional hotel. Would recommend.
Being right on the river with a balcony overlooking it during Christmas season was awesome!
Good but small and pricey
Nice just very pricy and very small
Very nice
Very clean, friendly staff, will stay here again
We arrived early and staff was happy to put in baggage room so we could start exploring! Valet parking was easy and well worth the extra cost….
It was right on the Riverwalk so we had access to lots of things to do.
Wonderful staff.
Every employee we encountered was gracious and friendly. We truly felt cared for. Little noise from any of the surrounding rooms. Very pleasant trip.
Staff was friendly and helpful
Awesome would definately stay again !!
Front desk staff was so nice and so welcoming.
Nice Riverwalk location. Very good breakfast
Hampton on the Riverfront
Excellent place to stay! Well maintained, close to everything and staff was amazing!
Very nice hotel! Spacious room, nice breakfast spread, easy access to the river walk. Enjoyable stay.
Very clean nice staff
Horrible stay at Hampton Inn/Home2 Suites
When we arrived, Destiny said she had the right to move us from the Hampton Inn side to the Home2 Suites side. These hotels are in the same building. I suspected trouble from the start. We found out our room to accommodate seven was either given away or people overstayed. We went from four beds to two beds and a pull-out couch. This was being communicated to us like it was a free upgrade. The check-in process took around 40 minutes. With one less bed, one of my children had to sleep on the floor. The breakfast area the next day was messy. The trash cans were overflowing. We checked the Hampton Inn cafeteria and it was in slightly better condition. I complained to the manager upon checkout and was assured I would get a credit in the amount of half the fee paid. Instead, I was charged an additional 52% on top of the fee paid to Hotels.com. I contacted Hotels.com and they resolved the issue with the charges. However, I will not be staying at Hampton Inn or Home2 Suites again.
Overall awesome
Body wash bottle was empty. Ran into the house keeper a couple of times and asked for refill, but even the next morning after room service the body wash remained empty. Should have addressed to staff? yes, but these little things should be done whenever they cleaned the room.
Exceptional Stay in a Perfect Location!
Amazing experience with a perfect location, exceptional cleanliness, and outstanding staff. Highly recommended!
Clean and friendly staff. Rooms were nice and bathroom was good.
Nice and clean , lovely decoration. Excellent location and a very complete breakfast bar. Right in the river walk . Definitely would recommend.
Great location. Took advantage of beautiful view of river walk with balcony room. Up to date amenities.
The valet service
Great location
Super spacious and clean. The location is superb!
Great location on the riverwalk
the Breakfast
Love the breakfast
Great customer service rooms nice and clean comfortable beds
The property was clean, beds were comfortable, pillows needed to be replaced and the AC rattled a bit but overall it was a very good hotel!
Property is in great location of course. Easy and walkable to many destinations. Free breakfast is a plus, valet parking is a plus as well. A tad expensive if you ask me. The cons was check in, I called 2 days in advance for early check in was told have to be in the hotel to check if available. Got to hotel on day of at 9am was told 12pm, didn’t get checked in till 4pm wish they would have not wasted my time. Besides that the location and cleanliness is what ur paying for. I stayed in the family suite and it was what I expected
Beautiful- clean and nice view of the river from the breakfast area. Staff very pleasant. Close to dining and shopping.
When it arrives dont have my reservation on the sistem. And valet parking they are not nice.
Very convenient
There was a billing issue that had to be resolved. The refillable supplied bottles of soap, shampoo, conditioner ,etc. were empty. Tray missing to be able to make in room coffee. Other than those details the stay was wonderful.
On the River Walk
Very accommodating and the staff are great.
I arrived at the hotel early so my room wasn’t ready but Celeste took my bags and said come back in an hour. I had lunch, visited the Alamo, then walked back to the hotel. Celeste said a room was ready, I got my key and went to my room. She was very helpful and a nice person to work with. Please tell her thanks.
It has balcony
It’s good service
Enjoyed our time here. A little more expensive than we had hoped, but in the end worth it.
The staff was super helpful and friendly

Great stay. Comfortable beds and a good breakfast. Great views of the riverwalk and quiet atmosphere. For a hotel that aims to be eco friendly, they only has styrofoam dishes. But a great stay overall, would highly recommend.
