Everything was really nice. The staff was very friendly.. The view from my room was spectacular.
Clean
A Weekend Getaway
Best positive: Our room was ready at 11:30am and we were allowed an early check in. Worst negative: King Bed with small, non-king down pillows which go flat and uncomfortable quickly. We had a Union Square View Room on the 12th floor.
Love the grand Hyatt. It is always my go to place in San Francisco. Grand Hyatt is centrally located to all the good shopping.
Great
Clean, great food and service.
Does not worth the price at all. It’s for sure does not look like a 4 star hotel. Staff were mostly nice but the first night when we checked in we experimented really bad customer service. We booked a king room and at the beginning they refused to give us a room with king bed
Loud because of the strike. Also outdated.
Great place to stay! Very convenient and next to everything
The room was very clean. We got nice view above Union Square. Staff were nice, check in check out were smooth and quick! Highly recommend!
why was there no lock on the sliding bathroom door in my room? is this now a thing? otherwise excellent in all areas
Location was great
Centrally located to most of the touristy spots. Very walkable and close to transportations. Hotel is clean and organized. Will recommend!
The hotel is amazing! I love everything about the Hyatt Hotel.
Unfortunately we arrived on the last day of the protesters and this made for a terrible beginning to my stay, but the staff was very helpful and the room was quiet and clean with a nice view of Union Square. The protesters were gone by morning and no issues with checkout.
Hotel not transparent in booking accommodations.
The hotel informed us 3 days before arriving that it had been having a strike by hotel workers for the past 3 months. This this ploy was to not allow enough time to change hotels. It was very sad for us to have to cross the picket line every morning going in and out of hotel. We had solidarity with the workers and would have gone to another hotel if the hotel had not locked us in. What the hotel did was wrong! It should have informed us of ongoing strike to allow us to choose another venue if we wanted to.
The riots were a pain and it was extremely loud
Extremely disappointed in Hyatt … always have stayed while in the city and will think twice before doing so again. Front desk gentleman (in my opinion) wasn’t welcoming and given the strike services that normally were available were not. I understand BUT Hyatt did NOT advise until just before checking in and our rooms were non refundable. Room didn’t feel clean and again, just overall disappointing.
The hotel was okay. We would not have stayed there had we known the workers were striking on principle. We had to walk past them to get inside. Their protests went on day and night. Hyatt needs to support their workers.
Bay
Customer service was excellent staff was very professional
It was very convenient for shopping and public transportation.
First off, the strikers are non stop and they are VERY loud and it’s so unpleasant to have a top tier hotel have their patrons be harassed everyday entering and leaving. Second, there were pubic hairs in our shower, on the soap shelf, in the tub and on the shower handle. It was AWFUL. Sink didnt drain so brushing teeth was a nasty sight. Menu at rooftop bar was limited and Wagyu beef burger was gross. Room was large and spacious, only positive here. Wont be staying again. AVOID
Regular hotel with 15 hours per day worker’s strike
Protestors ruined the experience.
strike going on causing noise all day and internet not working so I couldn't work causing me to lose money
Excellent
There was a union protest at the grand Hyatt and several other hotels in the area. They didn’t pre inform people trying to book a stay there. When they finally did inform people that booked a room it was too late to cancel and try to find a hotel that easy super noisy and having to cross Pickett lines. When i tried to talk to them about it al they said is they are offering free cancellation. Which does a customer no good a day before arriving. I don’t recommend staying there until the union contract situation is resolved.
Strike
Strike ruined my stay
The hotel staff that were working were very pleasant for what they were working with. The people on strike outside of the hotel were so loud we could hear them on floor 28 it was obnoxious. Banging on empty oil drums using megaphones to scream into and the loudest blow horns I’ve ever heard, it starts at 7 am and they quit at10 pm. It would have been nice to know that this was happening when we booked the hotel.
Everything was wonderful about our stay, however don’t forget to let your guest know how to put the blackout curtain down because we found out on the day before we left.
Our stay was not great. Protest outside from hotel staff every night and morning we were there loud banging that could be heard from the 18th floor. There was also a smell maybe from the carpet. Staff was very friendly
Not nice
na
Just ok
Great location overall, but was not aware of the protest. Should at least been notify, no communication whatsoever. It took forever for the water to warm up in the shower.
Would have given an even higher rating but due to the labour strike out front, the hotel was short staffed and the management team struggled to keep up. To be fair, management worked extra hard to cover the bases. I’m sure once they’ve resolved their labour issues, they’ll be back to full 5 stars. Regardless, I recommend this hotel and will return.
Ok for a quick stay. Room was clean
😀
Everything was great except the people picketing at 2:30am in the morning.
Very open, lots of beautiful artwork, beautifully laid out, wonderful, caring staff—immediately available for any needs. The rooms are spacious and modern—the bathrooms are what you’d want in your home. Beautiful views and the beds are super comfortable.
Great Hotel Stay!
Great room, very clean! And the beds are extremely comfortable! Very nice employees throughout my stay!
Not as expected
Room was congested. TV volume was limited to 24. Some channels are fine, but some channels can’t hear at all. Bought on demand movie and could not hear audio, did not see closed caption option, TV display quality is poor. When i informed front desk about TV volume issue, they didn’t care.
Great location, easy to move everywhere!
Good
Front desk check in staff poor customer service. Checking in was like a debate about the room rate and I was told we do not disclose our rate. Low value —- breakfast was $50 dollars Tight tiny room with two full beds .. I was told we do not offer queen beds for double rooms The hotel has seen better days ….more like a holiday inn but priced like a 4 or more star Not recommended
Very good

Very comfortable bed, amazing city view, the shower has the best water pressure on earth. The room felt luxurious even tho it wasn’t very big.
Nice area!
It’s great
Excellent customer service
staff was very welcoming and efficient in all aspects :)
Room was commodious, had great views and comfortable beds with top shelf linens. Staff was friendly, helpful, considerate and competent
Staff was amazing
There is a lot of dining and shopping options around the area.
It was a great experience
Will stay again
Amazing stay, staff is super friendly, room was clean and comfortable. Only gripe is I couldn’t figure out the AC and it was a little warmer than I’m used to. Still very comfortable, would stay again.
Friendly staff
Nice, friendly and helpful staff. Clean, good location. Property was once grand, looking a bit dated now but decent sized room
Good hotel and quite central. Valet staff very helpful getting us a cab to airport and the gym also reasonable for a city centre hotel.
We liked the property and the location. Room was quiet, and clean.
Convenient restaurants
Nice
They control the volume on your TV and you can’t hear it. They also charge $90 for parking and don’t tell you up front.
The hotel is location is close to several tourist spots. It is in walking distance to Chinatown, Union Square, shopping, and restaurants. My few complaints include the mildew smell in the room, the shower head, and toilet not working correctly. The room had a strong mildew smell. The shower head was not installed correctly and caused the floor to get soaked. The toilet was hit or miss. It required many attempts to get it to flush.
It's close to union square, china town and Starbucks. I wish they could've clean and dusted the room more.
Like it
Great location.
Excellent location !
An Overall Good Hotel
Check in was simple (room was even available early). Every person we spoke to was very helpful. Room was clean (the sheets/mattress looked almost new) and up to date enough. It had everything we needed. Public transit for most places was only a few blocks walking distance. My only complains are the windows were pretty thin and we heard a decent bit of noise from the road below (even though we were on the 9th story) and the bathroom door is a sliding door that leaves a gap when closing. You can definitely see in and hear everything, which is weird.
The room was smaller than expected for a Hyatt, however we were here for a wedding and it served its purpose. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Got an early checkin when we landed and they kept our bags until we head to the airport.
Very enjoyable property and trip
Thank you Hyatt
NO RESPETA TU RESERVACION
The bell staff and concierge very friendly and helpful!
More places for dinners.
Enjoyed the stay
Great hotel.
Very clean and friendly staff. Location was convenient for us too.
Great property!
Staff were all very friendly and helpful, hotel was great and clean and inclusive!
Such a nice hotel ! Amazing staff
The location, the staff, were great, I will definitely be coming back to this wonderful hotel!
The brunch was really delicious!
Wonderful stay, clean place, excellent service, around the corner from Dragon Gate.
Great property! Close and safe hotel parking. Walking distance of hot spots.
All was great but would find a pool next time.
Wonderful hotel in the middle of the city!! Fast access to china town. The beds were super comfortable and the staff was exceptional.
We liked the location and the convenience. The staff were friendly and the room was clean. The only flaw was is that some of the things that we thought we had access to, like the rooftop, we did not.
F- staff.
Great place to stay good food!
Great stay, parking too expensive.
The staff are great.
We stayed in an executive suite which was a bit dated and dusty. Staff was great, very helpful and always available. My only complaint is the elevators. There are 6 yet seemed as if only two worked at a time. Resulted in a long wait with no access to stairs. The good outweighs the bad, I’ll definitely stay here again
It was a very pleasant stay.. I didn't interact with their staff members. I only had the opportunity to talk to the customer representative at the check in desk.
The best hotel
Clean
Nice, comfortable stay for long weekend
Although a frequent traveler to San Francisco, this was my first stay at the Grand Hyatt, and I wasn't disappointed. From check-in to check-out my stay was very nice. Friendly customer service, comfortable room and clean throughout the property. Cool on-site lounge/cocktail bar, although I wish the roof were accessible to guests w/ a bar up there, too. My only complaint was that the a/c in my room was weak (although outside temps during my stay were at least cool). The hotel was also conveniently located, close to Union Square, shops, Chinatown, and much more. Overall, definitely recommend!
Liked the location Friendly staff
Really convenient location, love the Balmain personal care collections

I always stay at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Downtown. It’s nice and clean. I can walk to China San Francisco easily. Only 10 minutes walking to China town, Macy’s and all shopping store near by.
