Great location and one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever experienced.
We stayed during Cyclone Alfred so unfortunately there were no services (which is understandable). We could not get up to the rooftop bar because that was also closed due to the cyclone, also understandable. We did not get any room cleaning service on a 2nd morning and understand that was because the staff has been stood down for the weekend, also understandable. We totally understand that due to the cyclone and keeping staff safe. However, considering that no services were provided for the 2 nights I found it quite annoying that the $35 per day for the car parking was still charged when other hotels in the city were providing it for free due to a lack of services from a low staffing situation. It reflects a lack of customer care ethic. The sheets had marks on them from a previous guest so I think that cleaning could be better. The check in was efficient without being particularly friendly. The hotel is really well positioned for Caxton St dining options and just a short walk into the CBD (10 minutes). The positives were that the room was comfortable, even if things are looking a little worn. The double glazing on the windows mean you will get a great nights sleep and the bed is comfortable.
Lovely quiet room with double glazing. Comfy bed. Not sure why the description says there are no elevators as there are two. Highly recommended.
Perfect location for a little getaway but still close to the cbd the staff were very helpful and friendly, the food options around the hotel and the hotel made for a perfect couple day get away from home
It is hard to understand how this hotel could be marketed as luxury. There is lots of wear and tear that is concealed by low lighting. The bed had an unpleasant dip and then ridge in the middle, and on trying to adjust it I found rubbish on top of the mattress under the sheet. Staff could be heard on the phone telling customers it was their own fault that they were unable to access wifi, when it was clearly a widespread problem. I requested ice and was told they didn’t have any. The ironing board was awful and not properly padded and I ended up with metal marks on my clothing. The tea was twinings in motel style cups - def not luxury. All in all, there was a lack of attention to detail and care that was disappointing. The upside was that the location was excellent, the sheets were nice and there was a Nespresso machine in the lobby.
Our room smelt of a plumbing problem, it was pretty gross. The lighting is also terrible especially for the ladies trying to do makeup :(
Great location, staff were lovely.
Great team, affordable hotel, and great options nearby for food! Would probably stay again if the need arose.
Great value
Really comfortable welcoming place, it was just a hotel room we booked & it was the perfect space for us to use for our stay. Parking was a bit confusing at first because we’re not from Brisbane but the garage is at the front (not really anywhere on road to pull over so had to park in driveway of it to run inside & check in). At $35 a night it’s kinda average for everywhere we looked & we felt secure with our car in a locked space plus good sized parking spaces. Elevators are really fast, hotel is clean & quiet. We appreciated the double glass doors on balcony so didn’t hear street noise or any others. TV was huge haha with lots of options of movies/shows/music so that was cool. Fridge could fit 2 bottles of wine lying down. The shower was massive & good pressure, they even had a small portable mirror that lit up so came in handy when getting ready. Bed was very comfortable to sleep in. We only had coffee at the cafe but the barista was lovely & coffee was on point. Food options looked great & nearby there’s quite few choices or lots on ordering apps. Would’ve loved to stay longer than a night for a show we were attending to be honest. It’d be a nice staycation spot to just relax & get out of the hustle & bustle of city life. Front desk staff were really sweet & helpful. Would stay here again. Nice view from balcony on level 2. Neighbourhood looks like it’d be very lively on a weekend (we were there on a weekday). We went to Lefty’s & it was a cool spot!
Very good
Really enjoyed our stay.
Area stunning views are amazing. Everything local you would need. Parking easy and convenient
Great, quiet, well furnished hotel in a walkable CBD location.
After a glitch with our room the staff went above and beyond to be sure we were comfortable. Friendly, efficient and sincere staff.
Great rooms. Very comfortable and quiet. Very well kept. Good location.
Definitely stay here
Amazing staff and hotel, very clean
Convenient. Close to public transport and very efficient.
Very convenient location, quiet and neat.
The club next door was a little loud, but Ive stayed in hotels where this would have been a big problem. Parking underneath the hotel is convenient and considering our cost for the 1 night at short notice the cost of parking is reasonable. Plenty of amazing restaurants including the pub with the hotel. I looked at the guest guide for in room dining however couldnt find anything which was my only main complaint
Convenient, for what I needed.
Perfectly positioned following a night out at Lefty's
Good clean safe place. Good location lots of eating/drinking choices nearby. Parking lot on site but limited. Book parking in advance if you are going to stay here.
Most things
The property itself was a very nice place. On arrival though I think the person at the desk could have been a little more polite and more accommodating. I felt like I was intruding when she was taking my credit card and I.D and felt a bit uncomfortable. I know people have bad days and she may of been having that or even had a difficult person prior to my arrival but I was happy about it being Friday, happy that I was there for my Christmas party etc. Just a warm friendly face on arrival would have made the stay almost perfect.
Exceptional staff
Room and hotel were very nice, locaton was convenient for restaurants. The staff were exceptionally helpful. I was driving an over height van, the young man was able to arrange and park the van and showed me the way to find it the next morning. This was so appreciated, I was driving a van I wasn't familiar with, in a busy area when it was dark, he made my evening!!
Great hotel and staff
This is an extremely nice hotel. I loved staying here. ❤️
Apart from the TV signal dropping out multiple times and the shower flooding the bathroom everything else was fine
My room had a window to an inner court yard so needed to keep curtains closed. Ok for me as just slept there.
Definitely not 5 stars
Definitely not a 5 star hotel, so please don’t be fooled. My window looked out to the hallway which was unnerving and weird. $35 for parking was steep as well.
The staff were so helpful, and lovely. The room was so clean! 10/10 would stay again.
Great place to stay in the middle of everything happening. Will stay again.
Love the TV upgrades and fixing the hot water pressure. New carpets.
The room didn’t look like the pictures showed by Expedia which was a bit disappointing, you have to pay for the water and stuff, the bathroom had a see through door.
Overall, the place was a dump - everything cheap, worn and tired. 5 trips to front desk for door entry not working. No TV sound - front desk said they would send someone who never came. TV very complicated - no instructions. Bedside phone did not connect to front desk. Very poor lighting in bathroom. No exhaust fan in bathroom. Cleaning inadequate - papers left adjacent to rubbish bin not taken out. Garbage left in closet. Toilet not cleaned. Very confusing elevators - why not one control panel? I had morning coffee next door - the most uncomfortable chairs I've ever sat in!! Only bright spot was the lovely Asian barista who made a point of caring for me.
Close to where we need to go , Suncorp stadium
Pretty small place but clean and tidy. I was able to walk to the city (20 minutes). Good value for money I thought.
Surfaces had dust on them so had not been cleaned for awhile. Bathroom was clean though.
Great hotel - good locations
Birthday weekend getaway. Have stayed here many time and always a great stay.
AC was too hot and couldn’t find remote. No shampoo in bathroom
For my purposes the location was brilliant
It was in a well- situated area. Check -in and check out was easy. Room was very dusty. Had to ask for hand soap to wash my hands because only body lotion was provided.
Nice spot . Convenient
Very good location, friendly staff and easy parking. Good experience overall.
good
Great location. Easy public transport.
Beautiful rooms
The hotel was easy to get to just out of the city but close enough to access. The staff were friendly and polite. The television didnt work and we were told it would be fixed whilst we were out, but this nor an explanation never eventuated. The kettle lid did noy close, so some issues with small things. Bed was beautiful and room was quiet. We will come back again.
Perfect stay at the Beetson from check in to check out - my new favourite Brisbane accommodation!
My view was not great but overall the hotel was awesome
Good little hotel
great spot - middle of Caxton ST - great Seafood too - will be back.
Bed was comfortable, pillows amazing. Room was silent.
Perfection.
Liked quite place no really far to city
.
Amazing attentive staff. TV was old and had to get 3 different staff members the 1st night to get Fox sport working. The 2nd afternoon the TV didn’t work at all. Constant message of “no signal”. Didn’t want to annoy the staff so gave up. Also AC would only work for around 20mins during the day and turn itself off. At night it looked like it was centrally controlled by the hotel. It was a really hot night and got no sleep because the room was so hot.
Amazing
Excellent
Great location and styling in lobby but room needed a major update, ripped Bedhead and AC fan so noisey I had to turn it off to sleep. Then couldn’t get heat on AC in the morning. No toilet paper in bathroom. Very surprised!
Average room and the bed moved around. Mini bar only contained one small milk. Room service menu is a Resturant style menu with no dessert options.
Great easy walking/ jump on scooters to South Bank. Super close to stadium if you need to get there. Hotel room was ample size as out all the time. Bed size was fine for me and daughter to share but wouldn’t suit larger people unless different beds available.
Amazing stay!! Super easy for events at Suncorp. Buzzing atmosphere!! Beautiful rooms, sound proof. The staff?? All of them were 5 customer service. Highly recommend!
Was very nice . It was convenient for where i was .
great location
The accommodation is well placed to walk to Suncorp Stadium and eateries. The staff are always very helpful.
Unclean , hasn’t had good upkeep. ,noisy, shower didn’t work properly, hot water not consistent. Clock radio with charger not working.
Great Hotel
Yes all good
Clean , great food and staff
Found some lunch in the cupboard for the day before , toilets lose and found that some didn’t like the tv an unplugged all the lead
This place was excellent, the staff were amazing and the place was clean and very nice. It’s easy to get around and many dining options. The blackhide restaurant was amazing across the road!!
I arrived late night and customer services was incredible
Friendly & welcoming staff, very comfortable and well appointed suite.
Great stay
Gambaro Hotel is so conveniently located I always stay here when going to the football at Suncorp stadium. There are also restaurants and eateries very close by I am not left wanting for anything. Of course there is always noise coming from the Caxton hotel but all the rooms have double glazing to let you sleep in peace. Parking is at a premium round here so you will have to pay an extra $35 to park under the building.
I had 4 night stay for work, a toaster would have been helpful along with some simple crocker ie bowl plate and cutlery Room servicing average, mugs, glasses not turned over daily Air con cool/heating setting was locked too for control elsewhere I wonder if the internet special rate triggers a lesser room and service quality All in all, ok but average for the price
Staff were very good, excellent in fact. As for the for room, very tired looking. Our room was dusty and the bathroom shower hose was broken water just dribbled out. Lots of mould in shower around toilet rim. Around the shower glass lots of build up of dust and bathroom yuck. The room presented tidy and bed sheet nice and clean, but our room was so dusty and the mould in the bathroom not pleasant.
Very tidy and great fitout!
Didn't like that the washrooms don't have proper doors for privacy.
A quick 5 minute walk to Suncorp stadium to watch yhe footy. Also unexpectedly quiet considering its close proximity to the Caxton
Wouldn't come again
There was soap scum and mould in the bathroom, the shower didnt drain properly so drain water was filling the floor of the shower. The furniture was in poor condition, no information in your room for internet etc
Great stay for the Rugby. Convenient to Suncorp Staduim & XXXX brewery. Right across from the Caxton Hotel. Staff were lovely. Amenities a little old, small rooms, no real bathroom doors. No pillow menu or daily paper as advertised. But would definitely stay there again.
Great location to Suncorp Stadium
Staff, location and general condition of hotel is great This was all let down by poor cleaning of the room.
This is consistently a good place to stay, very convenient to Paddington, Barracks and Petrie Terrace. Rooms are very good.
‘Once Boutique’.
The room had signs of age and wear, scuffed timber cupboards and doors, fittings, marks on the bed head, in room safe not operating, staff were unable to operate & the safe was not secured to the wall in the back of the cupboard. Timber screens were unclean in the timber cutouts, thick with what?? Hair, skin, dust. Toilet lid and seat were very loose, would slip to one side and had no cushion stop. Toilet was grimy around top fittings. Floor to ceiling curtains were starting to come off the curtain hooks at one end. Additional cost per day for secure parking? Why is parking not standard for guests?. Staff were all pleasant and helpful, breakfast was fresh cooked.
Great location, close to Suncorp Stadium, pubs and dining options
Very impressive in all aspects
The only reason I didn’t rate higher is because the technology is outdated such as charging ports for phones. iPhone docking wasn’t working. If there were wireless docking charger, there would be no need for the bulky clock radio charging station because people would use their phones to do that. Unfortunately, both myself and my husband forgot our chargers.
Awesome place. Got an upgrade
Happy with the Gambaro
The Gambaro Hotel Brisbane is ideally located minutes walk from Suncorp Stadium, which was why we were in Brisbane. It is also a short walk from the CDB and the Southbank area, which is full of restaurants and cafe's. The Hotel staff were excellent and professional. The Hotel was well maintained and offered great food next-door. For me, the only minor downslide was it didn't have any USB/USB-C outlets. I know it's not a big issue and an easy fix with a wall plug but install some USB wall plugs and this is a wonderful venue. I am already recommending the Gambaro to my friends and family and looking at planning another trip.
Nice property and fantastic value
I didn't like the fact that I was charged $35 for parking until after my stay never once was this discussed with me & when I rang about the charge they were rude & said that's just how it is never stay here again, also last time I stayed there they gave us free muffins & juice this time nothing very disappointed, especially when the NRL own this hotel
Nice getaway
I couldn’t find the switch for the exhaust fan in the bathroom. Not keen on the spaced slat door to the bathroom. No privacy. Bed was comfortable. Curtains looked like they could be replaced. Some areas of the room needed dusting. Otherwise great location. Enjoyed breakfast in the cafe. Reception staff were professional. Overall enjoyed my stay. Just appears our room just needed a bit of an update. Friends stayed in a bigger room so budget is considered in the the difference in rooms. Would stay again.
Our bed when we arrived looked as though someone had been sitting on it and the pillow was not put back in place. Our room we had was an interior room so no window to the outside world Very loud - you could hear everything going on in the hall as though you were right there Nothing in the fridge Not a five star hotel like it boasts
Ok
Lean but small modern rooms. My issue as were - TV didn’t come in and had to turn off and on several times to get going. Lift broke down. Ordered breakfast and I was the only person in the bar area - and they forgot my toast then served it finally in a bowl . How do you butter toast in a bowl? Lovely hotel but needs some attention to detail. Neil
Nice room, friendly staff, good location.

Bathroom flooded with every shower. Staff ignored & did not care until we demanded they mop and provided additional towels to mop up. Very dangerous slip hazard! Offered a free breakfast, which we accepted & it took 2 hrs to serve 10 people & toast was even toasted. We were told only 6 coffee mugs so only one coffee in mug & one in cup. Holes in wall & headboard of room. Very und whelming for the price. Won't be back.
