Best getaway weekend ever
Birthday Celebration
Stayed here to celebrate my wife’s birthday.
The property is very nice and the rooms are very spacious. When one goes to the Fairmont you ah e to realize that is an old property. However is well maintained.
This building is so pretty and has so much history! The staff was so nice and so willing to help out with anything. It was in walking distance to so many things as well!
Can say enough good things about my experience at the Fairmont. Opulent, elegant, grand and at the same time welcoming. The common spaces were luxurious and the staff friendly and attentive. Highly recommend the Fairmont.
We checked in the room and were stains on the carpet and no ventilation, front deck didn't change our room until the engineers couldn't fix the thermostat. After that everything was going well. Hotel like this must have everything to perfection. Overall our 3 night stay was good.
Beautiful property and room with view of Bay, Alcatraz and Golden Gate Bridge was spectacular.
Check your bill
Huge money pit they charge $30 for snacks and make sure to check your bill because they will put all the snacks on your bill. This place is not worth the money. They charged us almost $1000 in fess
A December to remember.
As we arrived, the front desk staff was exceptionally helpful and truly offered best in class service. We enjoyed the spirit of the holiday season in the hotel lobby.
Clean and lovely view but no robes and service was not as expected.
Wonderful
First two rooms were filthy. First one had a dirty bathroom. Food is bad. Hotel is threadbare. Don’t stay here.
It’s clear that when you book through a third-party, that you did not receive the same attention that you would if you booked directly with the hotel. When you check in they make it clear that you booked through a third-party which is really not necessary. Our room was extremely dusty and had spill marks down the side of the furniture and was not clean.
Super clean, friendly staff
Staff all very friedly and helpful.
No microwaves or refrigerators in the room, so very inconvenient. When we checked in to the room, there was a dirty towel as well. Considering the cost of say, I would give it 3 out of 5 star. Didn't meet expectations.
Loved our stay at the Fairmont. I would definitely come back again. The staff made the stay so much better. not a lot of parking around. But the hotel has valet on the side of the building. 90$ overnight and other fees added. Overall great experience the hotel!
The history of this hotel has the unique story.
Great location and awesome experience staying at this location.
beautiful, historic
The Fairmont is a San Francisco Icon and I had hoped to experience some of the world class accommodations & service one would expect from such a famous property. Sadly that was not my experience. The décor has become shabby and dated. The bed was rock hard and my room was not properly restocked. The staff was pleasant and attentive, if not limited in supply. There was no one to answer my call at 5am when I woke up realizing they had not replenished my coffee pods. The Laurel Court restaurant, however, was excellent. I normally stay at the Westin or the Adagio and will return after my experience here.
Outstanding service
Paid $170 for flowers to be IN my room prior to arrival for my girlfriend and we got there and was nothing. They didn’t want to give me a refund at all rather then just offer me $100 in food n beverage and then STILL charged me for the food and beverage n had to deal with that. Bad communication on the hotel and florist end on not checking with me prior to arriving because they got confused on what room I was in. Was disappointed to say the least.
The people that work there are committed to ensuring you’re having a great experience. From check in to check out, they exceeded my expectations
Feels like San Francisco
I love staying at the Fairmount. In addition to its being a first-rate experience, the hotel says "San Francisco" to me as the structure was still under construction when the 1906 earthquake shook the city and burned it down. The hotel, however, survived.
Always stay here when visiting San Francisco
The Fairmont is a classic. It's nicely kept up, and was very clean. The room was very expensive for what it was, and the valet parking was $90 even for hotel guests. This was my reason for 4 stars. Hotel guests should get a break on parking
Need elongated toilets
Wonderful two day stay in the telegraph suite. The 19th floor view over the bay was incredible.
Very nice views
I was upset there were no bathrobes. We also needed to borrow a phone charger and there was not one available.
Jam packed during Xmas BJT worth every second And pets welcome
It was amazing
Beautiful hotel but our room was pretty small, no working fan in the bathroom, and was loud with being able to hear people in the hallway and our neighbors whole business meeting in the room next to us early the next morning.
Check in was super easy. Room is wonderful with a great city view.
For the price I paid won’t stay there again, property dated I was expecting better. Mezzanine room was just okay didn’t have minibar or fridge no complimentary water had to ask for water.
Amazing hotel but didn’t get the city view
We made a reservation for a City View room but when we got to the hotel we were given a room without a view and were told we had to pay additional +$40 per day for city view. Also, they were taking down the holiday decorations at the lobby, so there was a lot of “demolition” noise at breakfast time for two days. Other than this everything was perfect.
Stayed with my family for new years. We all enjoyed the stay. Classic hotel vibes. Tonga room was great. Staff was very courteous.
It is overrated!!
Beautiful hotel. Just a few minor things
Love this hotel and it's one of the most beautiful hotels we stayed at. Our room, 591, was kind of funky. Granted everything about the hotel is old, the bathroom door didn't close so that was a little awkward for us to use the bathroom. And then each room has a hotel smartpad on the desk for guests to explore places to eat and go nearby. While using the smartpad, the surface felt super gross and grimey from the previous visitors. Like as if there was gunk caked on the surface. And i just came home from our trip with a flu, which I suspect could've been from using that device. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and hope we can get a different room next time.
Overpaid for a lousy hotel. Room was not clean, we were near the elevator.
Very elegant and historic space. Very attentive staff. Overall, 5 star experience
The hotel was clean and beautiful. Staff was Friendly. The room was very nice, and the price was reasonable. I did not like the surprise $140 charge for parking. I was there for one night, and that seems astronomical to me. Had i known about this in advance, i would have parked down the road for free, or used public paid parking, which would have been much cheaper.
Beautiful decorations
Christmas holiday at Fairmont
We stayed at Fairmont for only a night. The hotel is beautiful and historic and the room was nicely decorated and clean with a comfy king bed. Things that could have been better is first and foremost the insanely expensive parking price 102$/nigh!!. I don't know how they just come up with these numbers...and it wasn't even valet or anything special. So that is a huge turnoff and the second thing was the wifi charge which most hotels will offer you for free. But I guess it's worth visiting and staying there once.
One of the best hotels in San Francisco. Nob hill location is great, service was excellent, and hotel was beautiful.
Perfect location. Clean & friendly
A beautiful, five star hotel will lobby decorated wonderfully for the holiday
Hotel smelled old, bed was extremely uncomfortable The smell was so bad my clothes and hair smelled like it even after a shower and wash my fur coat is going to have to be dry cleaned to get the smell out. The hotel smell like a combination of mildew, rotten wood and dog not good
Beautiful hotel. Classic with all of the current amenities.
For being a Fairmont should have been better
Great place, really busy lobby do to holiday decorations. Hotel has everything!
Historic hotel
Very helpful staff.
This hotel is so pleasant to stay. All staff makes you feel as though you're the most important people staying. Little pricy but we enjoyed our stay
Brilliant view and hotel.
Lovely doesn’t even begin to describe this place. We love historical hotels and this one did not disappoint. Make sure you channel your patience- it is very busy there, but in a beautiful position in SF. The staff was impressive. The room was big and grand. Highly recommend if you can find a deal, because it is pricey.
We had a lovely time in our room overlooking the bay and Alcatraz. The gingerbread house and the tree were fabulous. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the Laurel Court. The location is perfect for walking to Union Square and Chinatown. We also visited Grace Cathedral and the Winter Wonderland next-door. It was a perfect weekend.
It was a wonderful experience. Went during the holiday season. Very festive. Gingerbread house was up and the aroma was delicious. Downside: up charges add up! $90 valet charge. Urban charge can be opted out of but that covers wi-fi and gym. Tax on all charges too. Will return. 😊
The holidays are magical at the Fairmont. Beautiful tree and so much fun watching the children enjoy Santa.
Fairmont is Luxury
From the time I drove up I was treated exceptionally well. The lobby and other areas are beautiful and clean. My husband and I had adjoining rooms with 2 daughters which made our stay very comfortable and convenient. I’ve stayed at the Fairmont before and will make it my usual stay when visiting SF.
This is a true 5 star hotel and especially during the holidays! The decor, atmosphere and generally jolly hustle and bustle make the lobby itself a must see destination. From the valet parking attendants , to the front desk staff, to the swift, delicious room service butler everyone was cheerful, helpful and eager to make our stay the best experience it could be. The Tonga room is also an iconic must see!
Always a great experience all the way aro
Overjoyed
A lovely tradition for the Holidays in a beautiful location
Pretty location and elegant hotel
Absolutely love this hotel, so beautiful, staff were great. High recommend.
Beautiful, classic hotel in the heart of San Francisco. We went during. Thanksgiving and it was already beautifully decorated for Christmas. It was spectacular with a stunning Christmas tree in the lobby and a walkable ginger bread house - perfect for the kiddos to explore! There was ven a Moēt & Chandon cart in the lobby to welcome guests with a glass of champagne. The room was beautiful with an incredible walk in closet! The location is perfect in Nob Hill, a gorgeous neighborhood in the heart of San Francisco. Wonderful to walk around in the morning. There was. A great coffee shop in the hotel that also had a classic, old school vibe. Can’t recommend this hotel enough!
FEELING RELAXED
OUR RM. WAS CLEAN AND SMELLED LIKE SPRING FRESH, OUR 2DAY STAY FELT LIKE IT WAS A WEEK LONG VACATON IM SO RELAXED CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK TO WORK
Beautiful Christmas displays. Expensive breakfast buffett ($49) but the food was very unspectacular. Valet parking $82/day. USB port on lamp by bedside did not work. You are charged for Internet but it did not work.
Aside for the issue with gum in the bathroom of the room when I first checked in, the staff quickly rectified it and moved me to another room
Gingerbread house and tree made it very festive. Our 14th floor corner suite had incredible views! Everyone was friend, courteous, and professional .
One of the amenities of the hotel is listed as "Free Wifi". Well, this is not accurate. What they offer is "Free Internet" - which is not the same thing. Unless you carry around an ethernet cable to plug in your device(s), you won't be able to get free Wifi. This misleading info should be corrected.
Staff was great
Really excellent housekeeping and service staff
We had such a pleasant stay at Fairmont in SF.
Always very nice and brings back a lot of memories since I grew up in the City....clean, quiet and PERFECT.
Fun
Very friendly
Property centrally located and staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms and halls are updated. Lobby needs some updates but still carries its vintage charm.
The Nob Hill location is perfect, the hotel is elegant and beautifully maintained. Looking forward to a return trip.
The property is beautiful. And the idiolic Tonga room is located here. Across the street from Top of the Mark.
The most amazing hotel I have ever seen!
The food at the primary restaurant was extremely overpriced and poor quality.
Wonderful
A beautiful setting, wonderful service, and a great place to stay over night!
Check in was painfully slow.
Love It!
Will be returning
It was really nice. Tonga Room was great.
Rooms were huge and well appointed. Even for the level of Hotel, the mini-bar was absurdly expensive. Lack of hotel bar open all day for food was frustrating.
Beautiful hotel
The staff is very friendly and the property is beautiful. The room where I stayed at, I was hearing a bit of the next door neighbor's tv. I also did not get to use the beautiful Fairmont robes. Probably they forgot to put clean ones there that day. At the restaurant the person cleaning the tables was such a wonderful man I forgot his name I give him 5 stars for his service. The other staff a bit slow to come by the table to check on you or pay the bill. Other than that it was such a lovely place to spend the night in SF.
Excellent stay
Reception were v kind, but didn’t get me WiFi access codes & failed to tell me that the hotel gym would cost sb additional $20 (what??). Also, great bath products (Le Labo), but towels smelled really bad/funky.
Hotel is beautiful and located in a nice area. The rooms are fantastic, clean and elegant. The lobby is beautiful but there is no option for drink or food. Another limitation - there is only one restaurant, limited food options if you are looking for a gluten free options, closes at 9PM. They also charge a resort fee over $ 40,-. Overall very nice place.
I have stayed here twice now for business, and it is my preferred hotel as it is not direct downtown or Tenderloin, but very close, as I no longer feel safe as a solo woman in SF. It is a shame what has become of this city, but this hotel is a good option.
Great time / classic property
This was such a very nice hotel!! Better than I expected so clean AC worked well everything was great
