Run down hotel
The place is located in a convenient area however the structure itself is rundown pretty bad, I mean the furniture, the building, the shower head, the tv, AND they charge for parking so probably worth to spend a couple of extra dollars to stay in a better place.
Got a good rate, but the hotel amenities can be a little better.
No shampoo ,,, bed was not comfortable,, cheap towels only two ,, had a kitchen no utensils ,, super noisy ,, not worth the $$ also receptionists not trained well no hospitality she was rude
Beautiful hotel. Clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.
There was a couple engaged in a screaming match between the hours of 1am - 3am and management never came up to solve the problem. To add, breakfast was wiped out by 7 and it barely started at 6. Will not stay here again
Place is a little run down
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Close to Alot of different things.
Noisy and not clean
The room smell
Terrible trip. Bedsheets were dirty!
There was dirty laundry in the sheets on the bed. Someone's pants and boxers made up in the bed. Mentioned it to the front desk the next afternoon (nobody was there in the morning when we left) and tgey offered to give us bedding to change the sheets ourselves. Unacceptable. The rooms and "clean" sheets smelled, tgere was an almost empty roll of toilet paper, the hallways reaked of smoke in a "smoke free" building, and dogs were allowed off leash in the galls and peeing on walls. The rest could gave been ignored uf the sheets were clean and we weren't concerned about general health.
My getaway weekend stay in San Diego at Extended Stay was up to par. An average hotel experience that had friendly staff, elevator to all floors, cleaning service, ect. The King bedroom was spacious for my lady and I with plenty of space and lighting. There was a lot of table space with two nightstands, a desk, a dresser, and a medium sized kitchen counter. We appreciated the full sized fridge and kitchen appliances, but didn’t use them to their full potential. The TV was a little out dated but still an HD flatscreen so it wasn’t bad for the bedtime hours. The bathroom was sleek and clean with plenty of counter space and lighting for the ladies. There was only one bar of soap for the shower so make sure to bring shampoo and conditioner which thankfully I had. Only issue with the room was the smoke alarm was missing and reported it to the front desk after checking in to make sure I wasn’t blamed for it after. Also the windows have seen better days. One window would only open up one inch and the second window wouldn’t open up at all. The property was clean with plenty of parking and liked the gated parking lot entrance, but the gate would only close during the night time hours. Overall a good experience
This place used to be better, we called for room service and they said they only do it every two weeks. We also had to get towels at the front desk, come on you guys can do better.
Fine
The hinge on our door completely broke off so it never automatically closed after us. We told the front desk and they said someone would come fix it. We were there for a week and no one ever came. We also reminded them. Broken security latch, wires hangin from the ceiling. Animal poop in the hall. Short on towels and kitchen supplies. We asked for room close together but weren’t able to get it. Things just didn’t feel clean and smelt old and run down. The security gate was broken. The tub drain didn’t plug so we couldn’t take baths. Our phone didn’t work and ceiling light didn’t work.
Key was dis alarmed.
The room was outdated and the towels were dirty...
Poor breakfast service, out of everything
Poor breakfast service, out of coffee, creamer and pastries early in the morning. Garbage was overflowing in the outside containers. Beds were hard, not very comfortable.
Don’t Recommend
They charged for parking and there was no complementary breakfast. They don’t provide any water or ice for your room. House cleaning does not go into your room unless you request for them to come clean and take out the trash. If you need more towels you must go get them from the laundry room downstairs. They are not willing to bring anything up to your room. When I was checking in the front desk girl literally answered the phone and started having a conversation instead of putting the call on hold and made me wait to finish the check in process.
The staff is exemplary. This hotel is dog friendly and they do a booming canine business, but they also provide all the needs for a quick doggy walk and pee. Breakfast is as advertised, just prepackaged stuff and coffee, but they were very clear about that.
The staff was amazing. Lydia was the top of all. Considering the 2 medical emergencies. All personnel day and night were great.....5 stars to them. Now the room smelled like urine, there are roaches in the bathroom and kitchen area. Housekeeping doesn't come every day, you have to take your own trash and dump in the trash room yourself. Also if you want clean linen or towels, you have to bring dirty ones to laundry room and go to front desk to request exchange for clean ones. You make your bed. Even though it says breakfast included. It is actually 2 pots of regular and decaf coffee, A 3ple tower with little muffins sealed in plastic. Staff was great, but I'll never come back or recommend this place to anyone. Thank you.
Great service
Customer service was very friendly great hospitality,Quiet and convenient.
Bad odor lobby and room.
The lobby area was dirty and had a bad odor, plus there was water on the floor. Once headed to our room we used the elevator and it was also dirty and made a loud sound like it was about to break. Our room key’s didn’t work so we had to go back to the lobby to get them reactivated. Once we got to our room, it had a strong bad Odor. The windows were open when we got there as if they tried to air it out. The sheets and pillow cases had stains on them, they seem very old and used. I don’t recommend this hotel.
Our room was not ready until almost 2 hours after our check in time so we had to wait around with all of our luggage until then. The room was generally clean but had little random things we would find around the room through our stay. The water pressure was horrible so it didn’t even feel like we were fully clean after a shower.
Old building, needs renovation. Feels unsafe.
Pretty good!
It was a pretty good stay altogether.
the place was horrible. our door did not have a room number, someone had removed it and written our room number on it with marker. there was water still in our bathtub. there was crumbs and dirt/dust on the floor. the "breakfast" was coffee and muffins and granola bars. the property and surrounding area was wough and looked shady.
Many homeless aroundcom, unsafe, the room was clean, but the hotel in general was dirty. Very unsatisfied.
There is a reason this property is cheaper than the ones around it. Spend the extra money.
Comfortable and close to old town
Convenient location and amenities but had to ask for any kitchen items. And no hair conditioner lol. But nice rooms and staff. Would definitely return.
When I called, they said there was a shuttle to and from the airport! There isn’t! I took the hotel because it said it is close to the airport. It isn’t!
Alot of weird people out side walking around the motel, and arguing
This place is dirty and unsafe. There are lots of drug dealers and scary people around. This is way overpriced.
The staff was great but the hotel needs serious help. 2 of the 4 charging stations were broken and in 1 of the functioning charging spaces a car was parked that looked like someone was living out of it. Had 2 rooms that had unexplained serious flooding. Again the staff tried to help but there was only so much that they could do.
Bad plumbing
I had no issues with the room, until the drains backed up in our tub. There was this black powder and it had a disgusting aroma. Everything else was fine.
Good value for the price. Nice for several days stay, with stove top range. They will loan pots upon request.
Chill stay
I had a nice time again. I needed a late checkout because of personal matters. Then I needed lil longer and theres a fee but Suzanna waived the fee for me when i checked out. Patience/ respect is key anywhere we go* overall a good stay.
Quiet stay
We had a quiet couple days stay. Suzanna at the front desk lobby was nice and it was a quick check-in. The room was cozy and we bought groceries to cook in our room instead of eating out. It was overall nice/quiet stay. Will be back to stay again*
Suzane the front desk host was wonderful and very accommodating.
Pet fee charged at check in but no mention on th site. Breakfast has no milk no fruits but just package oatmeal, bars and coffee
I Hate To See It Go.
This Extended Stay is amazing. I hate to see it go in march. I hear the property will be replaced by low-income housing...
I am extended out of here!
I still don't understand why you can't just put a coffee maker in the room. I asked for one and never got it. Take out my own trash? What do you do? Free internet then forced to pay for service or process doesn't proceed. For price payed this is my last stay with this organization. Really dumb business model. Insulting to customer.
Bathroom not working. The bathroom didn’t flush, it clogged
Awful customer service
The day we checked in there was a note to customers saying no water on thursday Dec 21 2023 due to maintence i told them why didnt i receive a email saying no water until after 5pm which is most of the day. I was upset so we had to make sure we had cups of water around to brush teeth extra water for toliets also note that the flushing of toliets were notworking either. Never will stay there again. Also be prepated to ask for all utensil and pots toaster nothing in room.
My one night stay was fine, it was clean, but the bed was hard and the pillows were FLAT! The “breakfast” was nothing more than mediocre coffee and some granola bars! There are lots of other hotels near there, so if I ever had to stay near that airport again, I would choose another one.
Staff is hardly ever at the desk. Our room was dirty especially the sink in the kitchen was black and kept getting worse. We were told they would switch rooms that night but it never happened until the next day. No ice machine on the premises . Staff not helpful! Never again!
Relaxed stay.
We had a comfortable/quiet and relaxed stay. They accommodated us with whatever we needed, if we needed anything. I really liked we could cook instead of eating fast food* The ladies at lobby front desk were very nice/ helpful.
The bathroom and kitchen area was a little dirty, but the bed and carpets looked clean. I didn’t like that you have to request the kitchen supplies, they should already have the supplies ready in the kitchen. Overall, it suited my needs, I just needed a place to sleep and shower, and that was relatively clean and in a good location. I just wished it was a little cleaner and more updated.
I will never come back to this Extended stay. The night shift lead, John, refused to let me check in to my room after i paid for my room. He said that my card was a “prepaid” debit card, which is not true. I used my same exact debit card 4x just days before and never had an issue. He said the staff members weren’t supposed to let me stay there, even though there’s no deposit. They have no-deposit fee. You can pay with cash, debit, or credit and there’s no deposit. So this guy was discriminating me for whatever reason and refused to let me stay there. I had to call hotels.com to get my refund, etc. i had to re-book an entire different hotel and pay another night. This guy should not be a manager and should lose his job. That is not how you treat customers who have used your hotel multiple times, with no issues. He should have said since you paid, we will allow it like my Staff members let you previously, but moving forward just so you know we can’t take your card. Even though that’s false. And I would’ve said ok. He should lose his job for this and I have filed a complaint to Extended stay corporate as well.
There were ants in my room and when me and my wife got there they didn’t have the king size bed that we paid for so we got a room with a queen. Pretty lame.
Comfy
Our stay was pleasant and comfy. We'll be back again soon* and quick check-in is a plus.
Nice place
Good
I had two events in San Diego, back to back, and it was easier than driving back to my place in Laguna Beach. Plus, I'm writing this when the average gas price in SoCal is $5.76! When I arrived, the gate was open and seemed off the hinges. It looked like an older property, and the attendant looked like he'd had a rough day. He informed me that I would not be charged for parking because the elevator was broken, and I would have to walk up to the third floor. He gave me a paper with a list of things I could ask for. I was staying for one night and did not think I would need anything extra. Not knowing that there was nothing in my room. Not a cup, a glass, or even the coffee maker. NOTHING! I will give them credit for the coffee in the morning. It was good. But even the morning attendant already looked like she was over it. I got what I paid for and it was a cheap price.
Thanks great
Not as hotel to take family or kids too.
Checked into hotel Front desk was very unfriendly. Elevators out of service Hot rooms , ac unit not working in room. Lack of customer service. No real breakfast besides coffee premade muffins and snacks backs.
Felt scamed
I had to stay almost an hour after the check in because the room was still being cleaned. The reservqtion description said thqt breakfast was included, but they are calling breakfast to just coffee and bread. That something that any hotel offers you and they dont call it breakfast
Room smelled awful the entire time. I'm the lobby hotel works were having an inappropriate conversation with themselves.
Just wish they had dark roast coffee:) There was only decaf or medium. Other than that clean room, great location, and friendly & professional staff!
Dirty, filthy place. Out of any sanitary norms. Resembling to the one star road side motel, and they shamelessly charge some $130-150 per night.
This property is centrally located but old and smelly. Smell was the big factor and they used heavy deodorizer to mask away that bad odor. That smell prevented my deep sleep. Room was old and in need of desperate renovation. As for the entrance, it has no first impression factor.
Good customer service
Perfect location, close to everything, staff Friendly and very helpful. Rooms had plenty Of space and very clean . my only concern And not a complaint was the room had a damp musty smell when i arrived and had to Let the windows up and run the a/c to air room out
Staff interactions were mostly very pleasant, but when asking for extra towels, dealt with a condescending front desk person. There were toenail clippings under the edge of my bed that I found my dog eating (GROSS). There were dead rats in the parking lot against the curbs (2) which is nasty and also very unsanitary when trying to walk your dog.
We had a Wonderful Stay! Everything was so Clean and Staff was Awesome!!!! I am definitely returning. Thank You.
Staff was friendly & fast
Comfortable overall
Worst stay ever!!!
At Check in we asked for late check out and host said the latest available would be 12:30p. We accepted On check out day we get a knock on the door at 10:45 asking if we were in our way out. I advised the lady we had a late check out. A little before 12p an employee barged in without knocking… luckily I had the latch on if not he would have came right in in. I had just got dressed and my boyfriend was in the shower. I advised the individual we had a late check out and I attempted to close the door. To my surprise I couldn’t because he had his foot on the door preventing me from closing the door. He was adamant about us not having late check out. I told him the host who checked us in said he noted the account and Erika the manager on duty was also there. This is unacceptable…had he came in 2 minutes earlier, I would have been naked!!!
The staff was helpful and amazing! I have to mention that I believe there were 2 different Alberto’s working the front desk and they were both extremely customer service oriented from check in to check out. I was super impressed!
The dog poop bags provided were useless so nobody picked up their dogs poop. Provide better quality poop bags.
Good deal!
Nice and quiet
Employees were nice and friendly but room was horrible dirty smelly itchy bed, sticky doors carpets dirty window wouldn’t close all the way
Horrible
Customer service rude
This is a low cost hotel and it shows why- the elevator was out of service, the room had bare minimums including incredibly light weight blankets, and no complimentary in room coffee maker.
Room was very clean and comfortable. Kitchen items and toiletries only available upon request. Parking fee was in booking information so no surprises. However, crew came into room to clean air conditioning unit - hassle - and the elevator was out for the second half of my stay. Included grab and go breakfast was disappointing, packaged muffins, granola bars, and oatmeal offered with coffee, except that one of the four days there was no coffee. Tenants were loud well after midnight and walls are thin enough to hear snoring. Probably will not stay there again.
Room safety is very low
Our rooms were break-into, and we suspected it is an internal job, as someone came into our rooms with duplicate room key cards, and steal all our newly bought shopped bags when we were out in the morning.
They are super friendly and helpful
Hotel for guest or pets
I reserved a stay to a hotel not a pet hotel. Getting to our room we had to maneuver around several dogs to get to our room and the next day. There was poop on the elevator floor and smelled bad going up one floor. This should be called out when making a reservation on the internet. This explains why there are so many automatic air fresheners throughout the hotel.
Staff was very nice and rooms were clean.
Well for one thing when I made reservations on- line said contential breakfast and it was a couple gronala bars and muffins. Then I also said I needed a handicap room and I got second floor was past the elevator. Both my husband and I have a hard time walking and the room numbers were confusing and far down a hallway. Then you charge $15.00 for parking which never said when made reservations. So I got to say I had better hotels to stay at.
We choose here because it has EV charging. They have 2 charging stations and 1 was broken, someone was using the other. At 5 am we were able to plug in to charge. It's a level 1 charger which means it's really slow but it got us to a fast charge.
The property is gated. You need a key card to get in. Of course then you can't enter until you're checked in. There is no front desk buzzer. I found the number and called, nobody answered. Twice. So you paid for the hotel, but can't get on the property. Once you are inside, they want to charge you a day rate for parking. Should be included or disclosed.
We had to use the staris due to the elevator being broken. Not good with carrying our stuff up the 3rd floor
The rooms were not kept up. Needed repairs
Like- Property is good and safe. Did not like - no cleaning, nobody checked shampoo, toilet paper, soap….. no breakfast,,,, just coffee….
Very quiet slept well The outside of the refrigerator should have been cleaned better All in all satisfactory property
There should have been more of a continental breakfast
Just don't bother.
If you have limited mobility but don't have a wheelchair, don't bother. I'm trying to recover after being ill and can't walk long distance. I had to walk down a very long hallway, stopping twice to catch my breath (no bench or seat, so leaned against the wall). Upon arrival at my room I found they had issued invalid keys. Back to the lobby. No place to sit and rest. Left the "keys" on the desk and made it back out to the car - which was the only place I could sit. I couldn't possibly have made that walk again so I went home. Kissed $400 goodbye.
Dirty. Not like the pictures. Smelly.
Nothing negative. Just wish they had a pool
The photos do not match the pictures. We were given a handicap room with cheap laminate floors that felt dirty. There were no cups, plates, silverware. The bed was hard. canceled our second night because of this.
Nice staff and convenient location but the hotel feels old and has a bit of a musty smell.
Took more than one hour to check in. Horrible. I won’t stay this hotel.
Not much amenity was provided.
Served the purpose well. Great staff. Especially Chris at the front desk!
.
Felt like i walked in on a scary movie and was waiting for the serial killer to come out and get me
Decent place to stay
Did not realize that they don’t have a pool so that was disappointing but other than that it was a good hotel. Felt safe, close drive to old town, sea world, mission bay and restaurants. Would stay there again if I don’t bring kids because they wanted to swim in the pool.
Nice, quiet, clean.
