our favorite hotel, staff are very kind! love the overall experience
Parking fee is a little high, support staff in dining area was super awesome, the female staff in the gift shop was rude and unfriendly.
Our family had an amazing stay at Embassy Suites San Diego Downtown! The location is unbeatable — within walking distance to the Sea Port, Downtown, and so many attractions. We loved taking the ferry to Coronado and hopping on the trolley to explore Old Town. The convenience of everything nearby made our trip so much more enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was a highlight — a wide variety of options, and perfect for families to start the day right. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the suites were spacious and comfortable for our family. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting San Diego, especially with kids!
I had an amazing stay! The staff was friendly and attentive, the room was clean and comfortable, and the amenities exceeded my expectations. Perfect location and great value for the price. Highly recommend!
My stayed at the hotel was amazing !! Vanessa on the front desk was very helpful and caring! She makes you feel as part of the hotel. Her service is excellent. Thank you Vanessa!!
Turn your HVAC off at night…
Everything was great except the loud HVAC. I guess it was on a motion sensor and kicked off every few minutes all night, but would come back on if I moved in the room. I get the eco option, but this prevented a decent night of sleep for my 4 night stay despite them sending an engineer to fix it.
Everyone at the front desk was so helpful. We got stranded there due to flight cancelation and they worked with us each day to keep our same room as we kept getting canceled.
As soon as you walk in smells amazing and clean.
Wonderful and attentive staff
Wonderful breakfast. Rooms clean but dated. Housekeeping did not come the last night of our 6 night stay. The destination daily fee was an unnecessary inconvenience causing patrons to play a How do we spend our $25 today game.
staff are very attentive
The service at the hotel was terrible. The complimentary snacks in the evening were terrible. Housekeeping was non existent. Property is old. Parking is expensive but we knew that coming in. Very long lines for the omelette station, couldn’t get any decent breakfast. They were very short staffed. Our bathtub was blocked, nobody came to fix it despite calling numerous times. The location is the only thing that is unbeatable and you can walk around easily. Overall very pricey for the facilities. The 25$ food credit was not worth it- had to use for overpriced items in the gift shop. They advertise a kitchenette but no utensils like cups and spoons were available. Had to ask for some and finally got a couple after 2 days.
The Hilton Embassy Suites San Diego is a wonderful choice for families. I stayed there with four family members, and it was incredibly family-friendly. The hotel offers great value for money with spacious rooms, excellent customer service, and very friendly staff. The free breakfast was a fantastic addition that made our stay even more convenient. While the water pressure in the bathrooms was a bit low, this was a minor issue compared to all the positives. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it for anyone traveling with family.
My only compliant is the 4 Floors of adventure to track down late night snack via the vending machines
Very impressive
The Embassy Hotel is a great place to come to. I enjoyed my room It was beautiful.
Great location that’s walkable to many downtown attractions. Good size suite that was very clean. Staff was genuinely helpful and close to the best we’ve experienced. Highly recommend.
Good location, walking distance to Seaport village
Excelente en todos los aspectos lleno mis expectativas, desayuno bufet incluido, snacks gratis por la tarde, Gratis $25 dólares diario para gastar en su tienda o el restaurante, amabilidad del personal.
Love it
Tried and True
This is one of our favorite hotel chains to stay at.
This property is very well located, you can literally walk to San Diego’s coolest places . The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I really recommend this hotel and I will always stay here while I’m in town
Clean, friendly staff, excellent breakfast.
Friendly staff.
Walking distance to Seaport Village.
the snacks and complimentary drinks were nice. Wish they had a Hot tub!
The attached restaurant has some issues, I asked if she could put on a Hockey Game and she "snapped back" at me that they only have local games. Well, the Padres are your only local team sister....
Nice hotel
Food was uncooked. Valet was slow and unorganized
I saw 2 roaches in the living room very disgusting
Only disappointed after i left they charge 60.00 per days for parking but never mention the charge at all before.
Excellent service
The service staff were excellent and always responsive to our concerns. I especially liked having a suite to stay in--the rooms were spacious and clean. However, I only gave a four star review for the following reasons: 1. The $25/day mandatory spending is ridiculous. I have never heard of such a thing. I would rather you charge us the $25 in the price, which more honestly reflects the price of the stay. 2. The WiFi speed was mediocre at times. Other than those two concerns, we had a great stay and would come again.
No complaints. Had a lovely stay thank you
Didn't enjoy being asked every time I walked to the elevator, or had breakfast, if I was a Hilton Honors member and if I would like more points. The $25 "hotel tax" that "allows" is to purchase up to $25 on food and drink in their gift shop is also a joke.
Comfortable and walkable. Staff is amazing.
Pros: hotel staff was amazing the entire stay, breakfast was delicious, area was walkable and safe to Midway and Little Italy, rooms were comfotable and roomy, everything was very clean, getting part of the fees back in money at the gift shop was fun and a nice touch. Cons: there were a few minor things about the room (missing extra bedding.for pull out, microwave didnt work, we ran out of toilet paper on day 2) that the staff addressed immediately. The drain in the bathtub wouldnt stay up and we had to wedge something under it when we showered. It was minor inconveniences. We would stay here again and recommend it to others.
We found spots of red stain on the sheets
Awesomeness
The location to downtown San Diego is perfect but the parking is terrible unless you pay the $45/day valet parking.
Good time nice hotel
San Diego was fun and the hotel was great
They let us check in early without any penalty. A late check out was really expensive for just 3 hours!
Not much to do around the hotel itself, but can walk to the USS Midway easily. No beaches nearby. There is a mandatory 25$ resort fee that can be used on property. Just don’t use any leftover money to tip. That is not included. Only one dining option. The restaurant food was good, though they do remind you that you have 25$ to spend. They don’t say not part of the tip. As I was leaving the property I read the handout they give at check in that stated- 25$ cannot be used on tips or alcohol. Would have been nice if the front desk person said that instead of having to find out after the fact. Room was clean, breakfast area was nice, breakfast staff were awesome.
Property/Location was wonderful, comes with a free breakfast. Extra charge for Daily Destination fee $25/day, like a resort fee but can be use for hotel credit. i just wished that parking ($65/day) would be included with the hotel fee.
Great selection in the daily breakfast buffet. Nice late afternoon cocktail reception. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Very convenient to our meetings in the convention center. Many restaurant selections. Will stay here again
Vanessa checked us in and was a great, easy experience!
Great location and big rooms. Wonderful for families!
Perfect location, across from Seaport Village, walking distance to many sites!
Excellent and beautiful
Excellent location, very nice hotel and suites.
We stayed here for one night with our two girls for our SeaWorld trip and it was perfect. Breakfast was great lots of options from French toast to omelettes and it was included in the stay. The beds were so comfortable. It was nice and quiet as well. The staff was very nice especially the valet team. With two kids packing can be crazy.. they were so patient with us while we unloaded all our stuff. Great overall.
I liked the location and the view from our room. I did not like all of the extra, unexpected charges that I had. So called mandatory fees that weren't clearly explained.
nice breakfast
Sheets were dirty, on the floor we found pills from previous guests etc. wouldn’t go back to this hotel.
Perfect location and the rooms were fantastic, spacious, and very comfortable.
Cleaning crew left the door open twice.
I really enjoyed the upgrade and breakfast and the Uber pick up area could be wider.
Good
Loved our stay was in perfect distance from the military base as well as marina and restaurants, 17 min walk to Gas Lamp district. Everyone was friendly loved all of it
Great hotel
Great location, pet friendly, family friendly hotel.
Convinces location hotel clean customer service brake fast good overall excellent customer service and .
I loved the location. The trolley is within a 5min walk and can get you anywhere. No car needed if you book at this Hotel.
The property and staff were great. The reason I gave a poor rating is because of the stupid $25/day resort fee that was tacked on which forced us to spend $25/day at the property or lose the money. We ended up having to buy expensive bottles of water at the gift shop.
Great time at hotel
Great place to stay! Centrally located! Staff acknowledged my Birthday and made me feel special! Will stay here again.
Great room in the corner. The bay view is spectacular
Perfect for my trip and plenty of room
Food
Went to the NAHREP convention and was within walking distance to it and many restaurants. Hotel staff was very friendly and had a corner room facing the ocean. Room was spacious and I rested well. I also enjoyed the breakfast buffet.
Great
Clean and host at desk was friendly
Very clean and staff is friendly and helpful
Nice location and breakfast buffet! Valet parking only, need plan extra time getting your car. Daily rate on the high side for parking but good service.
came for a work trip and location was perfect for the event. Happy it was dog friendly! Parking is always a headache in San Diego, and no surprise it comes at a steep price here. At least the valet was quick.
Great for families with kids. Rooms were spacious and plenty to do around town.
Nice hotel
The receptionist was rude
Great!
Amazing. Safe. Clean. Breakfast was great.
Great location around the convention center. Our check-in person at night was extremely helpful
Well the last day of my stay, there was a dirty bloody hotel towel on the driver seat. The valet did throw it away. I didn't leave any towels in the car
Great spot and excellent breakfast spread
Great view of the bay on the southwest corner, definitely loved some AC, and the inside was gorgeous. Best part though would have to be the made to order omelettes and full spread breakfast - didn't get to the corner steakhouse, next time! Reese was also a polite and helpful young man
Had problems with the a/c unit did not work properly. Reported it to management and they really didn't care the manager was sapose to contact me and never did. They just expect the customer to deal with it since they already have your money so they just dont care Embassy Suites has really just taken a no care attitude.
Great place.
Awesome place. An elevator was broken though so there was a lot of people traffic in the remainder working elevators.
Our family loved our stay. It’s in a great area; close to the beach and zoo, and a good spot to walk for food, shopping and site seeing. The employees were friendly. We also enjoyed the onsite restaurant, daily reception and breakfast buffet. We will be staying here again!
Love SD!
I liked that it was near the bay. I didn't like that there was no ev charging station and the pool was congested and it smelled.
Friendly staff but a little bit dated inside reno. The breakfast is so-so for such a hotel. Waiting line is long and no much specialty.
There are things you could nitpick about the hotel if you're picky, but overall I enjoyed my stay and I would recommend. Seems like the parking is an issue, being forced to use the valet and the price for that. I did not have a vehicle so I can't comment on that. The A/C unit is a bit loud when it kicks on, and it does that multiple times throughout the night. It didn't bother me enough to complain about, but I can see how that would be an issue for others. Hot water temperature was pretty consistent, one morning it fluctuated from hot to lukewarm for a couple minutes but that was it. Water pressure from shower head isn't too good, but again, not enough to make me complain. There is a weird 25$ fee they charge you per day which can be used as a credit towards dinning or snack shop, so be sure to utilize that daily. Complimentary breakfast was ok, nothing special. They do have an omelette station which gets busy. All in all, it's a good hotel in a great location. The Embarcadero is right across the street, airport is nearby, Gaslamp quarters, San Diego Zoo is a quick rideshare away. Lots of walkable stuff to do in the area.
Valet at check in/out time very chaotic. Need separate areas for customer waiting to get vehicles at check out.
The Embassy Suites in San Diego is a nice hotel for families. Our room has 3 sinks. The area is very walkable and close to the trolley. It’s across the street from Seaport Village and a 10 minute walk to the USS Midway. The only negatives are its valet parking only and takes 10-20 minutes to get your car. You can try calling the valet booth but out of 5 times we tried calling, someone answered only once. And on our way out the valet attendant was literally sleeping in the booth. The daily $25 fee but you get $25 credit that you must use daily is simply a cover-up for another hotel fee.
Front desk was very nice and friendly.
Excellent service
Great spot around Seaport Village and surrounding areas
No parkign available , only option Valet @$65
I booked for my mans bday as a surprise for a one night stay. It was a nice location. When ,I booked on the site , it said parking available. I was so upset to find out there was no parkimg available and you had to valet . Checking in that is when they told me that they would apply the cost of $65 would be added to the bill. There was no where on the website stating having to pay this. Needs to be updated ! So upsetting when you're on a budget. Parking available! Not at all you have no choice when staying at this hotel !
Ok stay
Room was not exactly what I would expect for the price. Service was decent. Food for breakfast was as good as days in hotel. Beds and room are not as clean as I expected as well. For the amount of money and the area we stayed in. Needs better beds.
Nice hotel. Absolutely perfect location.
Great check in.
I’ve stayed at this property several times over the past 15 years and its showing signs of being run down. Not completely terrible but for the amount you pay and the location it should be better. Carpet in the room was especially dirty.
Room was very nice and clean. Breakfast area was large and breakfast had good choices to choose from. I would have preferred self parking.
We liked the cocktail hour and breakfast buffet.
