For a one night stay it perfectly serviceable. Seemed like a place that was full of tour groups.
great location with plenty of food options close by. In the heart of the university area as well
Relaxed and comfortable.
A spacious, friendly stay right next to the Dunedin Botanic Gardens.
Excellent Stay
Excellent stay in good location
Always try to stay here as well maintained property
Hotel is a good place to stay for business and leisure. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Good restaurant and bar.
Good location, big rooms, easy parking but no lift!
It was clean and tidy.
Great room
Great room. Very comfy and had everything we needed.
Very welcoming and friendly staff, great hot, full pressure shower and the room was toasty warm on a cold winter night
Plenty of parking space available
Was a good place to stay and would stay again. Just the bed was hard to sleep on. Very nice staff they were awesome.
First time staying in a hotel it was nice and clean tidy but didnt like the noise of people walking down the corridors at night talking and paper thin walls but apart from that staff were friendly and the breakfast was fantastic and great value
Very lovely staff who were friendly and welcoming. A real personal touch. There's a very nice bar area for gathering and meeting up. Garden area beautiful and I think all the trees and landscaping help to muffle any road noise because it was very quiet at night
Easy
Located next to the beautiful botanic gardens. The room was spacious, well appointed but too hot. I had to open the door and window so I could sleep
Great place to stay for a night
Quiet great location
The room was clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. The buildings felt a bit dated but otherwise very good.
Ideal for regular visits
Always a reliable hotel
Nice staff
My wife and I really liked the hotel and felt the staff members were very kind, attentive, and helpful. The hotel is also located across the street from the botanical gardens, which was a beautiful/enjoyable experience.
Super Friendly staff and close to the main road. Meal was delicious.
I liked how it was so easy to sign in and the staff were very nice.
The property was as expected - clean, tidy. Rooms are a good size so you don’t feel cramped.
Clean and tidy
Lovely breakfast, friendly staff. Easy parking
This a well run easy to access and perfect property for me as a business traveller
Everyone was so helpful
Beautiful setting. Very clean and tidy. We’re a little concerned about it being close to a main road but didn’t need to be as there was little to no traffic noise inside the building 😁 friendly helpful staff, I would stay there again happily
Excellent hotel.
A nice hotel with good size rooms. The staff were excellent and friendly. Good menu and food. Nice gardens. Convenient for the Botanic Gardens just across the road. Good car park. On the edge of town so not noisy.
Old building, with tired facilities and no in room air conditioning, only heating in room and corridor. Close to main highway a bit noisy.
Only stayed one night but check in smooth, staff friendly, comfy bed. All good
Service was very good - easy to find and convenient. Quiet!!!
Easy access to Botanical Garden.
Large spacious room and a kitchen too
A Joel with Distinction
Our stay at the Dunedin Leisure Lodge was very enjoyable. staff were excellent both polite and efficient. My only negatives were the stairs to our room and highway noise. One of the staff David, assisted taking our luggage upstairs. Much appreciated.
Great location, friendly staff and comfy room
Nice location, super friendly staff, daily servicing of rooms first class. After returning to Dunedin for a visit we noted the hotel was well maintained.
Simply the best ......
Always a comfortable hotel. Immaculately clean. Warm rooms with good heaters and water pressure. The staff are excellent and make me feel very much at home. One of the best hotels in Dunedin.
Nice room for a couple of nights. Staff were helpful. Coffee from the bar was good.
There was no lift to floor 2, so with suitcases it was a mission to take up. We did have an offer from the front desk to help though.
We really needed more power points near the bed for devices PLU the internet juts did not work - free wifi or not Apart from this GREAT!!! THANK YOU!
We enjoyed our stay staff where every helpful and meets our requests meals where very good nice choices even porridge for breakfast smile Chrissy & John
Botanic gardens next road is a bonus. Clean facilities, hassle free checking
This is really a pretty standard motel-type establishment. The photography makes it look a bit better than it really is which could be disappointing. If you look at it as a standard motel for a brief overnight stay, it is fine for the price.
Couldn’t fault anything. Very clean wonderful service. Will definitely go back.
Great location and parking. Comfortable beds. Unfortunately our wifi didn’t work throughout our stay. Would have been helpful to have at least a toaster or some cutlery/bowls for a quick breakfast.
.
The Breakfast was only Luke warm at 8.00 am in the morning. Not good enough, and had to ask to Microwave to heat up. No offer of replacement.
Lodge was next to botanical gardens and east access into city center by bus. Staff was particularly helpful with luggage loading into shuttle when airport shuttle was late.
Close to town
Excellent location
It does what it says on the tin. Clean and tidy.
Great location to botanical gardens. Quiet rooms and good parking
Room was clean and well equipped. Great staff and great location.
The hotel was surprisingly quiet considering it was between the main roads north and south. Good facilities and lovely grounds. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the room smelt quite musty, which wasn't caused from lack of cleanliness, so not sure why.
Great location and friendly. helpful staff
This is the perfect location if you visit kids who attend the University. We often stay here due to the location. The rooms and decor are becoming a little dated; otherwise, this is a great stay, and I would always recommend it.

Good ambience, cleanliness, lots of parking, good breakfast, friendly staff
Staffing shortages created the major disappointment. But the vIew from the fron windows was the best.
Easy check in, instructions to our room and parking, quick checkout
Very welcoming staff. Delicious meals and the grounds are kept so well you could relax in the gardens all day if there weren’t so many adventures to go on.
Lovely room however did get a bit warm! Food good.
I was hoping for porridge and it turned they could make me some in the microwave. I asked if it could be cooked longer as microwave porridge often tastes gritty and floury. The result was a delicious soft oatmeal made with my favourite non dairy milk; very satisfying - thank you chef!
Location not very near to city, price too high for the condition this type of room.
Located across the street from Botanical gardens, this hotel also has its own charming garden area. The onsite restaurant is good. The laundry is handy and on the second floor not in a basement. Easy access just off the highway.
Comfortable hotel but loud traffic noise
Nice hotel, friendly service, but road noise is bothersome for light sleepers, is on the main truck route into Dunedin and the sound of B Double trucks late at night and very early morning is loud !
Friendly and helpful reception staff. Clean and comfortable rooms and lovely garden surrounding.
Slipping a Little .......
The Leisure Lodge is under new management yet again. I felt the atmosphere had changed and the family feel has somewhat been diluted. Efficient check-in and check-out and the room was warm and comfortable. I was disappointed with the quality of the meal in the restaurant and thought my concerns with the extremely tough steak may have resulted in some compensation or other option. But the apology and comment that other guests experienced the same was acceptable.
The Leisure Lodge provided excellent service, and were happy to help with any request / change. The lodge gardens are beautiful. Great location, easy walking to town or across the road to the botanical gardens.
Not bad.
Best location in Dunedin, handy to everything.Gardens next door spent hours looking around ,rate them 10/10 .room facing main thoroughfare a bit noisy & carpark lights kept room lit up,would suggest south or northside to avoid.
location.
Lovely room in lovely location. Very friendly and helpful staff and went out of their way to accommodate us when our flight was cancelled and we had to stay another night.
M
Amazing hotel
The room was lovely and clean with plenty of room for the two of us Extremely good service with breakfast and dinner and we had our room looked after and asked if we wanted clean bath towels etc. Would stay again and give the hotel 5stars
Quiet comfortable rooms, a little dated but good value.
Always nice
Room was clean and comfortable. No info available in room re dining options or prices.
Loved this place. Stayed with an 18 month old and it was absolutely fine. Standard room size but it fit their portacot (which was very well looked after). There are stairs so I asked if I could leave my pram downstairs and staff didn’t mind. All of the staff were just so accommodating, helpful and kind, something you cannot underestimate when travelling with small children. The is plenty of parking and there is are huge grounds for playing in. It’s close to town if you don’t mind a 20 min walk or a 2-5 min drive. Would definitely stay here again!
The entire hotel was very clean! The gardens were very nice too.
What a great place to stay. Friendly staff and room was great. Also had our dinner there and it was excellent.
The staff were very friendly and the restaurant had a good menu. Easy access to room from car park and quite large room with walk in shower
We arrived to find that we had been upgraded to a bigger room which was awesome
Great property with easy parking. No lift facilities so makes it annoying when lugging suitcases up the stairs
Comfort stay
We are really happy with the 'free upgrade ' for our room, view is facing the garden. Only thing is at night time some guests are too noisy talking too loud outside corridor. Location wise is perfect walking distance to every where, not to worry drink and driving. Good accommodation for a weekend. Shower pressure is nothing to complain perfect.
Plenty of space around facility
After a long day travelling this was a great place to stay and unwind with a beer in the sun in the courtyard bar restaurant overlooking the lovely gardens we had dinner in the restaurant followed by breakfast in the morning everything went without a hitch and we loved our stay. Highly recommend this property.
Central location but in need of an upgrade. Nowadays one would expect a digital tv that has a large variety of channels such as a full Sky Package not just a few limited channels. Room was spacious but has very thin walls and heating conversations in the middle of the nite is not ideal for sleeping.
this hotel just really suits our family requirements and staff are always helpful & friendly.
Avery great stay the food in the restaurant was lovley along with the staff very friendly and helpful
Very easy to find and centrally located. A bit of road noise, and unfortunately was awoken by some kind of alarm at 4am followed by continuous beeping. So that was the end of sleep that night. Very nice and friendly staff and restaurant food was excellent.
Great place to stay
This is a large venue and we didn't realise it was there! The shared areas feel dated, however the rooms are clean and updated.
Tranquil setting central setting
Breakfast included, friendly staff, good food, great location, beautiful grounds, quiet as well
