My husband was unable to check in with this room because it was not in his name. However, I had put him as the person checking in. Even if I had not, there should have been away to allow him access without me on the trip. Because he wasn’t able to check in, we were charged for a room we had already paid for in advance and didn’t get to use.

The staff did not clean the room.

I liked the convenience of parking just a few feet from my room! It was clean and quiet!

The facilities were adequate.

Nice place!!

Our stay was fine. We were only there for 12 hours so I can't comment much. We reserved the suite for 6 people and there were towels for only 4...probably my only complaint. No complimentary breakfast was a bummer. Plenty of exits to access parking. The cookies were great!!

Expected a relaxing stay at a decent brand hotel

Following check in, tv in bedroom area did not work and killed 2 roaches in room

Don’t bother

Needs Work

This hotel needs a sprucing up. Room was clean and bed was comfortable, but heating unit was quite loud, and water in bathroom sink had a weak stream and you had to run it for 4 or 5 mins to start getting hot water.

Staff was excellent…Very friendly and helpful. I haven’t experienced that level of Respect and Appreciation in years from youth…it was like stepping back in time!!! Thanks to management for the training in what hospitality really means!!!

It was a comfortable, clean hotel room for an overnight stay.

Breakfast was expensive and not very good.

The staff member informed me no refund, we shortly after, checked out. I was under the impression I had already payed, but no so ran card again. Also no emailed receipt as promised. Terrible!

Most of the staff was very helpful. I found some of the staff at the desk a little grumpy. They did nothing wrong, but it just seemed as if they were not happy doing their job.

This was a good place to stay. The staff were very friendly. The only issue I had was the bathroom was dirty but when I told them at the front desk they sent housekeeping up right away.

I slept very well. No outside noise at all. The ice machine was too far away.

It was awesome staying here...as long as they continued to have the Amazing staff...I will always be a guest everytime im in Huntsville

5 day stay room was serviced once!! And it took 4 phone calls to get that. AC & AC fan did not work at all, and no one ever showed to fix it. Do not recommend

Terrible!!

The safe in the room was locked when we got there. We asked the front desk to send someone to open it so we could use it. She said all the maintenance staff had gone home and there was no one to fix it. No alternate solution offered. Microwave didn’t work. We were going out for the day about noon and asked for housekeeping to come and clean the room. We came back about 5 pm and the room had not been cleaned. Called the front desk again for housekeeping and was told they were all gone for the day. I asked how that was possible. I was told that since it was a holiday, that they were short staffed. Let that sink in. A hotel thinks it’s ok to be short staffed on a holiday, when they should be fully staffed because that should be when they are busiest… The room was not very clean at all. Especially obvious in the bathroom where dirt was very thick in the corners, especially around the shower. The floor of the shower looked like people had been wearing black shower slippers and left black smudge marks. Maintenance work was shoddy and obvious. We asked about the on-premises restaurant several times and was told it opened at 5 pm, we showed up at 6 and it was not open. We were told the entire staff had called in sick. The only food available was at the bar, and I’m not sure who was preparing it.

The only thing I would like them to add would be having margarita fixings at the bar. Came back from a hard day and no Margaritas!

Wonderful

The tolite paper could be better quality. The hooks and the tolite paper holder on the wall are falling out. Our overall all stay was very nice, the pool was great, staff super friendly. The room was very big and comfortable. Plenty of room for 2 adults a 10 year old, 7 year old and a 16 year old. Would definitely come back.

The bed was comfortable. The only problem was the toilet was very loud when flushed. Otherwise an enjoyable stay.

Room was very comfortable. All necessities were available. Was very surprised at the look of the suite. Would surly stay at your hotel again.

I was appauled when i opened the pull bed in my 2 room suite and found a used condom. And when i said something at the front desk they just blu it off saud they would tell the cleaning supervisor. Ive stayed at this hotel in the past and will never stay there again.

The room was not completed with renovations you could see had been talking place. The ceiling was falling in some areas and the wall was partially painted. We were given a handicap room on the first floor so all noises were heard. The specialist that checked us in was not the friendliness and was rushing the check in process as we were the only family checking in at that moment. If upgrades are completed and staffing is more friendly, we would possibly think about staying at the location again.

The staff was amazing. The pool area is really nice. The room had easily visible stains on the carpet and the bathroom had mold in the shower.

The room was organized well with separate bedroom. However, the room was not cleaned very well at all. The shower door did not fit well and made a big puddle of water in bathroom floor. The hotel was older. The walls were thin and the people next to us were very loud so we got little sleep. I was surprised at the poor quality of this hotel. I expected more from a Hilton hotel brand.

It was quieter than I thought, what I disliked about it was the hall carpet needed to be vacuumed, water was dripping out of the bathtub faucet , the hook on the back of the bathroom door was broke, furniture was dusty, and the toilet paper roll was barely hanging there, carpet needs to be removed out of halls and bedrooms.

No Air

Our first night we didn’t have air at all. It’s was aight of 89 so our room was horrific! I went to front desk and was told maintenance was gone for the day and they had no other rooms available. I asked for a fan and was told they didn’t have one and check back the following morning. No compensation was offered at all

Showing some age…

The shower area needed recaulked and the floor in the elevator was sticky. Breakfast costs $15 a person and is standard fare, rather unenthusiastic staff makes it less enjoyable. Not one staff member smiles at this hotel.

Amazing

It took them 1 hour to get us our room. At 2 am with an infant with us; without any lines we didn’t get the room until 3 am.. when we reached the room, the keycard didn’t work. She asked us to come down again to get it fixed. The rooms had no extra blankets. Again when we called; she said come down and get it. The front desk person had no clue on how to handle guests who come after midnight. The room had only 2 towels for a room that accommodates 6 people.. bottles of lotions were empty. Does not stand up to the quality of a Hilton.

Disappointed in Huntsville

Disappointing stay at the Doubletree in Huntsville. Arrived at 3:00 to check in. Computer issues at front desk did not allow us to get into our room until 4:00. Pool was closed for “undisclosed reasons”. This was disappointing for my 4 year old grandchildren. When we got to the room several lights were out, mold was growing in the corner. Trash was overflowing outside

Just serviceable

Toilet paper holder and closet rack both broken. No soap dish. Slow toilet leak at base onto floor. Lots of mold in shower. Dark and dingy. Hallway smelled strongly of pot. Serviceable but that’s about it.

It was an ok hotel. Little details making it average and some bigger than others. Breakfast staff was nice but the food was terrible and didn’t eat on my second morning of my stay. The staff was generally nice and that means a lot. But the hotel itself was in need of work and you can tell they are making efforts to improve.

Fingernails on nightstand. Only stayed for 1 night. Trouble with refund.

Mostly rude people working front desk. The room was so dirty with wet/moldy carpet. Coffee wasn’t stocked, only one bath towel. They are updating the exterior of the hotel, but should have started on the nasty interior. This place is a real dump, would never stay here again

In the process of upgrading. It was nice and quiet and I felt safe. There were many things inside the room that were not in good condition, little things like the toilet paper holder was very loose and would move each time you use it, there was mildew in the shower, the lamp shade bottom had fallen and was dangling there, and the ceiling tiles were stained along with one being out of place and there was gap into the ceiling. The most interruptive thing was the toilet kept running every so often and it was very loud.

Very, nice clean suite. Very good area and conveniently close to downtown's attractions and events! Staff very warm and friendly!

Pleasant accommodation

Late night check in. Quiet. Under construction looks like it will be really nice when finished. Sofa bedding was not in the room which was inconvenient, but desk clerk was helpful. Pillows were small and uncomfortable. Overall pleasant experience

I usually have a wonderful stay at DoubleTree hotels. This one has construction in the works, which didn't bother me, but my room had large stains on the carpet, brown stains on the doors, water damage stains on the ceiling in the closet and the hall outside of the bathroom, towels that were not really folded tossed under the sink, some holes around the fixtures in the ceilings, and the loudest air conditioner that had a weird smell when it came on. The staff was very nice, the room was in bad shape.

They are undergoing renovations but it was still a wonderful stay

The hotel was under construction for the entire property. Our room was fine and we didn't hear the noise once the door was closed but we did hear people in the hallways. The hallways, exterior and pool area all a mess with construction equipment. The front desk staff was nice and the bar/dining area person was friendly and tried hard to accomodate. There is a question about check out and posting a credit to the wrong card number. It would have been good if we were told about the construction ahead of time.

No notification of construction

Check in and staff the following morning were absolutely so kind and helpful! Only downfall was that we were not notified of the construction that was going to take place directly outside our window at 7:30AM. My husband opened the curtains in our room to see where they were all at and one of the construction worker's faces was right at our window. I understand that noise will come with construction but no notice of when they will be beginning and that they will be directly out of our window was very frustrating.

Should not be open during renovation

The staff said no carts were available, offered others checking in cookies but not me, no remote in room, water fountains didn’t work, pool out of service but advertised as available, construction crap left everywhere, small pillows, no blankets for fold out bed, lotion in conditioner dispenser, bed sheets dirty, no vending machines in vending machine room, all trash cans overflowing, “do not disturb” sign was a post-it note, air conditioner sounded like someone opening the door every 15 minutes and didn’t work in front room.

Hotel was under renovation but very nice still. Enjoyed everything

Property was under construction and the noise level at 8 in the morning was frustrating to say the least. Property not as described. Staff at check-in lied and said they tried to contact us by phone to move us to a different hotel. When asked what number was called they said they didn't have a number on file.

Staff was super friendly. Room was spacious and clean. Stay here, you won't regret it!

The entrance to the property was dirty..cigarette butts laying on the ground, trash and paper laying at the front entrance! The hallway and corridors were dirty and unkept on my floor!

Property was fine. Refrigerator did not work and beds were way too hard. Other than that had no problems. Construction was a little annoying but staff was great!

My wife and I stayed one night so that I could be close to the hospital for a surgery the next morning. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a very friendly woman at the front desk. This was sadly the height of our experience. Hardly any lights outside. Not safe. The keycard scanner at the exterior door was barely hanging on by a couple wires and a screw. We get to the room and the door was propped wide open. We had not a single towel in the whole room. Had to go get some from the front desk. No vending machines. Just an overpriced sundry. The bathroom shower stall was terrible. Shower pan not properly installed at all. Water flooded the bathroom taking a shower. Stained carpet outside the bathroom says it’s been like that awhile. Overall, just a poor experience for $200 per night.

Showing its age & appears to be undergoing renovations. HVAC unit in room very loud when turns on. One used bottle on floor between bed & table. No safety issues. Seemed to be a bit pricey.

The staff didn’t seem to care about cleaning my room even when I requested the room to be cleaned. The toilet seat looked kind of dirty when I first arrived. I cleaned that off myself. The lady at the front desk was nice. The suite was spacious. Unbelievable for the low price.

Items in the room were broken, missing, or not working at all. Extension cords were all around the room connecting lights. Light bulbs were out in the room. The pool was closed and major construction was going on at the hotel without any notice of either when booking. Nearly ALL employees were openly smoking marajuana and the hallways smelled of it all weekend. Great atmosphere for kids...

So many issues—some small, some not so much…I have a list to the front desk of things they needed to address. The thermostat did not work, the room was so hot. The ceiling tile did not fit, the floor tile was loose. The Kleenex looked like it was used and then shoved back in the box. Two tvs, one remote and if both tvs were turned on, one of the pictures didn’t come in, it scrambled the whole time. Not to mention the outside was under construction/remodel and looked shady. We stayed in three different hotels in three nights and this was by far, the worst. The front desk told me there was nothing they could do to compensate us because we booked thru Expedia, a third party. I will think twice before booking thru them again. So disappointed in hotel services and Expedia.

They overbooked and then it was filthy

They overbooked and did not have the 2 bedroom room I paid for. I even sent them a message saying I had a special needs 2 year old and needed a room on the first floor, to which they responded saying they will do that. Then when I went to check in, they said hotels.com doesn’t mean you actually have a room. They gave me a room with a pull out bed, but my special needs 2 year old’s safety tent does not fit on a hidabed and I had to sleep on the floor with him. Since he could not be contained in his safety tent, he was up wandering and crying until 3am. Besides that, it was filthy. Mold and filth all over the bathroom tile and corners of the shower, rotted grout and tile in the bathroom and their solution was to put a piece of white board along the shower. One wall looks like it was peed on. The ceiling is gross panels that don’t fit and have grunge all over it.

The hotel is in repair and it looked derelict to the surrounding hotels. Was disappointed in choosing this as our reservation for Huntsville.

Wonderful staff. Too stuffy in the room.

Great staff, very friendly. The hotel was beautifully remodeled. My only complaint is that the room was stuffy. We could not get it cool enough in the room resulting in an uncomfortable nights sleep.

The suite was a good size but the location is difficult to find since it is right off the parkway and you can miss your turn. There were not that many food options near this location. I also did not like that the parking lot did not have sufficient lighting. The front desk often appeared to be closed which was weird. There was a lot of renovation occurring so noise of construction equipment outside woke me up in the morning. The lighting in the room was also an issue. The lamps did not provide sufficient lightning so it was hard to see items in my luggage at night. They need more lamps or brighter bulbs because it was annoying having to stand right next to a lamp to see my belongings.

Ample parking

Some areas very dirty. Toilet took forever to refill.

Restaurant was poor. Waited over an hour for food after ordering. Staff was not able to adequately serve.

Nice hotel, ok room

Hotel is nice and convenient however I was given an accessible room and it made for an awkward shower (handheld only, unless you want spray direct to the face) and the room was noisy with clicking sounds and the AC unit. Still good value, though, and I’m sure other rooms would be fine.

Itchy scratchy

I dints know what the issue was. Maybe the detergent they used on the linens but I broke out in bumps and scratched the whole next day. At least, I hope it was just the detergent. I’ve never been sensitive to anything like that before. I will not chance it again and stay there.

This property is unsafe the doors that should lock for key only entry never lock. There was a room for vending bit nothing in that room. It was locked. The room had dirty sheets on the bed. The carpet wasn't clean.

Conveniant location.

We picked this hotel for location. Everything was just average. We were concerned that the back door was never locked- major security issue!

Rooms were clean and friendly staff

The hotel needs to be renovated and lack of staff.

The floor had not been vacuumed, there were half empty single use bottles of shampoo and conditioner still in the shower, and all the fixtures were loose or broken. Several rooms had piles of sheets outside tfe door for more than 24 hours. The pool was open until 10 but had no lights once it was dark and was very murky. For a Hilton hotel brand this was extremely disappointing.

We had 2 rooms, both were supposed to have king bed with sofa bed. Only one had the sofa bed which was a little inconvenient for us.
