I will NEVER stay at a Doubletree hotel again. I have never stayed at hotel and had to pay for parking. The room was comfortable but the amenities are very limited. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

You must ask for service if you want your room maintained. There is a tiny sticker in the upper corner of a mirror. There was a vacuum cleaner in the hall, I guess if you wanted to use it. Likewise there was a bin for you to dump towels. Never seen anything like this especially at DoubleTree. When I had leftover food. The front desk person told me, just leave it in the hallway. Disappointing service for this caliber of hotel!!

The entry door from the garage was broken. There was no sign to indicate that it was broken therefore I was locked out and had to walk around on the street to get back in. The lock on my room door stopped working and I was told to lift the door for it to lock. I was flabbergasted. Each time we closed the door we needed to lift the door. No one from the front desk offered apologies, offered another room, or offered a discount. Nothing was said, not even a we are sorry for your inconvenience, which is awful customer service. For 2 days, to lock our door, we were left lifting a heavy door. A better hotel was a block away. Lesson learned. Pay the extra money!

It took 3 rooms before it was just right. Arrive past 7pm from a long drive from New Orleans. Bobby from front desk gave us room 513, but when we opened it, there was clothes and things all over the bed. So went down and reported. Bobby gave me a complimentary breakfast and new room 512. When we entered the room, it was dirty- stain on the bed, carpet dirt & debris all over, awful smell, remote for TV was missing and hair on the bathroom sink, toilet bowl and tub. I went down again, reported and I asked to talk to supervisor. GM Moe apologized, gave me a complimentary parking and new room 528. It was a bit cleaner than the former but still need improvement. Also in the morning, I needed to go down the front desk to pick up hair dryer because housekeeping can't bring it up to me when there should be one in the first place. The staff especially GM Moe tried to resolve the inconvenience with out argument and complementaries. I and my family were definitely stunt that this was part of Hilton hotels but does not meet the expectation.

There’s not much I liked-they have is free cookies on arrival. Our room was not available even though we arrived after the check in time. There was no warning and we had to wait for our room, sitting around in the lobby while everyone else seemed to check in without issue. The property is dark, warn out and dirty. The area outside doesn’t feel safe, we were approached during our short visit three times by people asking for money. Our room smelled of chlorine and they had stuffed some kind of air fresheners in the window AC unit to help but it didn’t mask the awful smell. Worst of all, at midnight, someone came barging into our room and woke us up in a terror. The latch prevented them from getting into our room-I immediately called the front desk and they said there was no record of us being in the room. There were loads of questions like room number and time of check in, but no apology and no explanation other than it seems they have another guest a key to our room. At that point I was high on adrenaline so we checked out thirty minutes later. Again at the desk there was no apology, just ‘have a nice night’ as we left. Generally the staff weren’t very helpful or hospitable. The property, even with an Orbitz discount, was ridiculously over priced and they charge $25 for parking each night. Really surprising how Double Tree has gone down hill.

Expected a lot more from the Hilton Brand

This property has been just given exterior cosmetic upgrades. The interior of the room is dated but what makes it worse is the dirty condition. I can accept old furniture but layers of dust on lamps, chairs. And the corners of the bed are unacceptable. I have indoor allergies and they were flaring up. There was hair in the bathroom that didn’t belong to us and the carpet had not been vacuumed. I could see crumbs as we checked in. I asked for the room to be properly and dusted at the front desk and she said she would send someone. The conditions were so bad that I complained to the property manager on staff and he was dismissive and said the property is old. There were glasses left in the hallway from rol services from the room next door. It remained there for 48 hours. I do. Lay asked again to removed the glass once it was broken. We used the gym and the equipment was fine but the water cooler was broken. I truly feel like I wasted my ml ey at this location. I usually stay at Hilton’s and this was my worst experience.

Staff is extremely unprofessional and rude! Hotel stayers were locked out of main door, no sign or communication it would be locked after certain time or directing us to another door. A woman of the staff literally yelled at the hotel stayers and told us "we shouldve used the side door" when we were all unaware of other doors because everyone had been using the main door.

The visual of this property was incredible but the actuality of things was not. There was no soap in the room, we didn't get service for our linens daily even after being pointed out to staff. Had to ask for towels and such at the front desk.Things were broken-washer and dryer out of order. TV reception was broken w/ no signal mostly displayed. Had stove and dishwasher in room but no pans or pods to be used. Coffee in the room not replaced daily and cups. Limited carts for use of luggage. Key card needed reset as it didn't work after first day. Breakfast was $21 person, not included w/ stay. Fee for parking also. When asked for receipt for stay was told the printer was broke and it would be emailed to us shortly. Still have not received it a day later. Would not recommend in future.

Will NEVER stay here again. Someone attempted to walk into our room at 3am and startled both me and my wife. Luckily, I had the bolt lock on. Not sure how the staff gave someone else a room keep considering we had checked in at 11pm EST. Next morning around 4am, the fire alarm was raging for about 15 minutes only to get downstairs and someone was saying "false alarm". Like WTH

Check-in staff was rude. Didn’t acknowledge me. Was talking with co-workers. Announced parking fees if $27 per car per night that I was unaware of. Reminded me of a rude Bon Qui Qui. AC in the room didn’t work, had to be fixed. Fire alarm went off ALL NIGHT LONG. Will never go back. It’s a shame! Used to be a grand hotel. Perfect location. Someone needs to buy it and make it great again.

Rooms were Motel 6 quality - dirty, small, moist (outdated AC units). Cleaning staff limited to replacing towels on a 5 night stay. Parking fee ($30/day) outlandish with no enforcement or security. Was accosted multiple times by vagrants. Central lounge doesn’t have adequate AC - very hot and moist. Fire alarms go off frequently for no apparent reason. At one point they went off every 15-20 minutes from midnight to 2:30AM. Would not recommend this establishment!

Not very good

First room had a leak in the bathroom. I found it when I stepped into the puddle with my bare sock. They moved us to an “upgraded room” that was dirty. It had the previous occupants room key on a counter, no hand soap nor shower fell, dirty towels on the floor. It was late at this point so I just felt with it.

Think twice

The front desk gentlemen was super rude. Also the all the bath towels we received all had stains on them.They also make you pay for parking for two days of even tho you are only staying for one day. "Less than 24 hrs". Check your bill becomes i was chearged for 4 days of parking. I would never stay again small rooms.

Fine, but don’t expect much

This is not a 4 star hotel, but if you have to stay in downtown Montgomery, it’s fine. There were a lot of small issues that added up to a frustrating stay. The worst was the non-existent service. We had a suite for our family and there were 2 towels in the room and almost no toilet paper. When we were trying to get ready the next morning, we called down to ask for towels and TP and we were told they had some at the front desk. I’ve stayed in some rough places and even they sent someone to you with towels. We paid close to $400 a night and I have to wait for my spouse to get out of the bathroom so they can watch the baby so I can get dressed to go get towels and TP which should have been provided in the first place? They also do not have room service as stated on their website (you can however place an order and pick that up yourself) and there is no housekeeping. All of this is not normally a big deal and I never write bad reviews, but when you are traveling with a family and choose a hotel and pay more for services to make your trip easier, it’s tough to think you could have stayed at a roadside motel and saved yourself $700. Also the rooms are in need of repair. Our first room had a door that wouldn’t close —it was wide open when we arrived. We were told to wait for a repair person but we couldn’t. The second room had cardboard shoved in a drawer so it would stay closed, overhead light was out in bathroom, and overall very worn down. It was clean though.

My room was a little dirty, the floor had somethings on it like maybe they had not vacuumed the room. The shower gel was completely out. I think they should make sure to check the shower gel before each person checks in. To pay for parking and cant find parking is not good. EXTRA MONEY

Be prepared to pay a deposit fee of 200.00 when checking into your room. This is an additional fee and 14.00 for self parking in parking lot of hotel. Regardless that your room is prepaid. Don't leave your room early and return before check out time, cleaning staff will assume you've checked out and turn your items in room to main desk, telling them you left early. Cleaning staff doesn't communicate with front desk and visa versa on if you are still checked in. They also get upset when you return. There are no notices information on prepaid rooms requiring deposits. Also it take at least a week before refunding your deposit.

Will not stay again.

Not a clean place. Very run down. Blood splattered all over the wall in the bathroom. No other rooms available to ask to change rooms. Two bath towels in room and both were dirty. Half a roll of TP was all in the room. Did not look cleaned. No water pressure from shower. Beds were comfortable & sheets seemed clean. No microwave in rooms. Next morning woke up to smell of natural gas. Was reported and we were leaving at that time anyway.

First, when I booked, it said it slept 4 but it only slept 2. I had to sleep on the floor. This is where i came in contact with the roaches. Also there was poop in the toilet when we first arrived in the room. The bed stuck way out passed the mattress at the foot of the bed so myself and my daughter hurt our shin and knees. Breakfast was supposed to be free but they charged $35. It was literally the worst experience. I travel a lot and I'm a Hilton Honors member and this was horrible.

A stuffed chair in the corner had no adjacent light, so could not sit in the chair and read. I was wakened three times during my stay with loud talking outdoors. The cement at the car entrance is badly cracked and needs repair.

Not too bad, not the best though.

Overall was not a bad stay, great location to all things Montgomery. However, the place could use a bit of attention to detail regarding trash in the parking lot, rooms appear 1/2 cleaned and front service was minimal considering the number of folks checking in - my stay wasn’t able to be accommodating to what I paid for due to housekeeping so I ended up with a smaller room with double beds.

The parking for the hotel was easy to access as it was a flat lot, however I did not expect to be charged for each parking pass. The room was fine, we were missing some items in our bathroom and I tried to call the front desk, but the phone in our room also did not work. Not a huge inconvenience. The front desk was very busy with calls every time I went through the lobby and the employee did a great job of handling the phone while attending to guests in person at the desk. I did have to wait in the lobby for a few hours to take work related meetings because my room was not ready when I arrived. The bar/restaurant area had many dirty tables that appeared to not have been wiped down since the last service.

Needs a little minor issue repaired

The bathroom had a hair in it. But did not look to be cleaned as I thought it could be. The overall smell of hotel was amazing, but I also feel that the sheets need to be updated alone with the pillow and pillow cases. Sink hot water took a lil for it to get hot also

The room was clean (however, a little dated) and the staff at the front desk were friendly and efficient. The other hotel staff that I encountered during my stay were friendly. I didn't care for the garage parking. It was a little creepy. Not sure what could be done about it though.

The front desk told me I had reserved a Junior suite at approximately 7-8:00 PM. Still, the room was unavailable because some employees had taken off for Alabama State University homecoming, which caused a shortage of staff. He mentioned he did not know when the room would be ready, and the only room available was a regular kingside bedroom.

After a long drive, it was nice there was a restaurant on site. Apparently there were a number of diningoptions on nearby streets, (5-10min walk) maybe all hotels are following this trend, but no towel racks in the bathroom and one hook behind the door. Where do people hang their towels? Also, our bathroom sink did not drain properly.

It was dirty and is out of date. Things are deteriorating, and there doesn’t appear to be any effort to stem the deterioration. Examples are broken lamps, an air conditioner that does not respond to temperature changes, a torn sheet, and mattresses that are smaller than the platforms they sit on.

I enjoyed my stay at Doubletree but room could use a makeover. The shower head was in a position where the water would spray on to the bathroom floor. The lighting was not good. For the money I paid there was no microwave or refrigerator. But otherwise the bed was comfortable and the environment was great.

The staff was amazing, so sweet so kind. They were very welcoming and I really appreciated that. The room was dreadful. I walked in to a room with a huge stain on the bed, had to call for new blankets/sheets. There was a huge red spot (hopefully juice) on the floor, hair in the sink (think beard hair) tape stuck on the wall and the shower was horrible. It was so unclean, I expected more cleanliness for a doubletree.

We didn’t expect to have to pay for a basic complementary breakfast and the amount was ridiculous. The breakfast was definitely not something to write home about. Housekeeping, however, did measure up. Cierra did an awesome job helping g us when needed. Thank you so much.

Not a 4 star experience

The check in process was quick. We arrived late and the lobby was super loud, and you could hear the people in our room. The luggage rack was broken, and the sink leaked next to the wall. We had four people in our room, and booked for 4, but only had 2 sets of towels in our room.

Convenient to everything Montgomery!

Wonderful service. I really appreciated the early check-in since we were running late for my cousin’s wedding. Convenience to our venue and other wonderful Montgomery tourist sites was perfect! The room itself was organized, beds made, but when I rate cleanliness, I also expect spotless with dusting, air filters changed, faucets and lamp frames shined. The room had a damp smell. This may have been a room that had been cleaned, but not occupied for a while. This hotel is in the Downtown area with downtown pricing. Whether 2-star or 5-star, service and cleanliness are a must.

The staff was very nice. The food was very limited and extremely overpriced for what it was. $17 for a self serve breakfast and a $25 hamburger (one of the two in our party was inedible) are not ok, even in this highly inflationary environment.

Nice hotel in the middle of the city. A short drive, doable walk to all of the history of the city and to restaurants. Parking was 14 dollars which was surprising because it was just a normal parking lot, not a covered structure. Staff was informative and semi friendly. Rooms could use an update but were clean.
