The front desk was very nice and helpful. Was on the 5th floor and had to take the stairs. Very unhappy about that.
It’s nice
Room and hallway smell do to dirty rug
It's was good beside the outside windows being dirty to look out to see the view. Other then that was good.
My water was not hot at all had to shower in cold freezing water. Hotel didn’t answer me and charged me twice for hotel parking. No one was at the front desk.
The property was good it was the things around the property. There were a lot of what looked to be homeless people around. This made my wife a little uncomfortable. Other than that we really enjoyed being at the property itself. Very nice staff friendly and very helpful.
Inside and outside filthy - dated - everything poor Garbage all over out by the pool - inside room stunk and falling apart Bad part of town too
Not enough staff working.
It was good
Not enough hot water, drainage issue
Worst hotel stay to date. Room 211
Check in was at 3:00 pm. We arrived at 3:35pm. Our room was not ready for check in till 4:10. Room was very dirty. Restroom had hairs all over the floor. Was not cleaned properly. Their was vomit in one corner of the room. Their was black mold right above the bed. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls. Bed skirts had stains on it. Bar or club very close by. Heard loud bass thumping till 2am. And the tv didnt have the proper remote to use. We brought the issue up to management, they gave us 3 different remote's to try lol None of them worked correctly. Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. First and last time my family will ever book a room there. Good luck on your stay
Receptionist Cristina was amazing. Very Friendly
One time stay
Hotel was decent. Neighborhood seemed a bit sketchy but it was the closest hotel to the concert venue we were going to. Bed was ok. Room was clean. The first issue was when we got back from the concert I decided I needed a shower. It was then I realized our bathtub had no shower curtain. I was very tired and it was very late. I didn’t want to wait for someone to bring us a curtain so I just threw some towels on the floor and aimed the water away from the opening as much as I could and showered as quickly as I could trying not to splash water onto the floor. The next morning we went down for breakfast. We got to the food just after they opened. My guilty pleasure at hotels is making a waffle (something I never eat at home). Much to my dismay when I went to the batter machine it was not set up. I could not find anyone to ask about it, so I settled just for eggs and sausage. Of course just as we got up to leave (30 minutes after the breakfast opened) someone came out and set up the batter machine for the waffles. Oh well. I’m not sure why that couldn’t have been done before the breakfast opened.
Great rooms, clean and comfy
Room is great, the only complaint was the bar next to us. I could hear the rhythm bumping of the speakers while trying to sleep. Wasn't horrible, took me longer than normal to fall asleep.
The room was not updated
They do well with parking considering the downtown location.
The pictures online were great, but when we got there, our rooms had mold in them. The wallpaper was stapled back to the wall in the room in the bathroom. They didn’t even bother, it mold the wallpaper coming up, mold underneath, mold on the paper and on the wall Need some good old-fashioned cleaning
I was upset we had to pay 16dollars for parking each day. This was told to us at check in time.
Parking. I don’t think I should have to pay for parking especially when your sign outside says that you are not responsible for stolen or damages in the parking lot.
Olía a viejo y húmedo. Prepárate al llegar te van a cobrar el estacionamiento. Había muchos homeless en el area
The rooms were nasty. It seemed like they hadn’t swept or mopped. We also seen roaches. They also don’t respect the do not disturb sign.
Everything was excellent
Stay away of this place they’ll charge you for parking in an empty lot with no security. There’s a loud club right next to the location that plays music Wednesday to Sunday and doesn’t stop until 2 am. When I asked to change rooms they said they were booked and suggested I buy ear plugs.
.
The staff was really friendly. 5 min walking and you are at river mall or Alamo
Firstly I thought the hotel looked a little tired. The wallpaper in the hallway and room was starting to lift and skirting was very dusty. The draw fronts on one of the units looked like it was falling off.
None
This property is in need of major renovations. It’s very old. The staff was wonderful though. Every person we met that worked there was so nice and helpful.
Close to Rivercenter mall / rough neighborhood
Would allow late check-out.
Kinda shady area(not the hotels fault) Crazy slow elevator
We enjoyed our stay! The location was super convenient and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again when we visit SA.
Low price for a reason
Peeling wallpaper, stained carpet. Night club next door with booming bass till 2am every night, Right next to the freeway. Great view of a giant blank billboard out the window. Staff was nice, free breakfast was good, beds were comfortable. Kind of sketchy area a lot homeless and riff raff around
The hotel was dirty and old. It needs major updates. The carpet was all wet and soggy. The drains in the shower didn't drain properly. You can tell they do quick cleans because the room was dirty like dusty and grimy.
The staff was nice. The rooms were great. The neighboring area is not all that good. My biggest reason for the poor rating was the pet policy. They charge $75 per pet which ended up costing just a few dollars less than the room cost for two adults. Orbitz page said it was $75 which is normally good for up to two pets. Needless to say, the dogs slept in our car that evening.
Hotel is not close to Alamo or Riverwalk (could walk approximately 1/2 mile. Area around hotel had homeless people hanging around and sleeping under the overpass which was the parking area for hotel.
Wouldn't recommend & will never stay again.
The elevators were broken and kept getting stuck, no remotes or working phone line, limited towls and just didnt seem up to date.
Near a lot of homeless, sketchy
All has always been good.
Not enough words for this
To make a long bad experience in a few sentences….we had to switch rooms, there a night club next door so loud music doesn’t stop playing till 2:30am, Big John’s pizza is awful and a rip off. Don’t Buy! Overall the gentleman was very kind and went out of his way to make us as comfortable as possible.
Everything was close to hotel like the river Walk and dining places
Alquile una suite y me dieron un cuarto regular sin sábanas extra para el sofá Cama
Close to the river and very clean
The only thing I didn’t like were the pillows very uncomfortable for me I don’t talk for the other people, but everything was ok good personal
Not enough parking space, is on a side of a party patio you can hear all the music and people burning tire a really big mess
My family stayed for a Band competition. We have stayed here several times over the years. Its convenient to the almo dome and river walk. They are both in walkkng distance. We like the spacious rooms, comfortable beds, the morning breakfast, fitness, and pool/spa. The staff was friendly and accomadating. What we have come to see is the property needs some improvements. The furniture is breaking down. The couch/ sleep sofa is the same from 10 years ago and is sagging- needs replacing. We had to switch rooms three times. There were carpet stains and broken lights fixture in the other rooms. The third room we stayed in had stains in the ceiling a airconditioner that leaked onto the carpet and soaked the carpet the entire time we were there the bathroom tub/shower filled up when showering and took a long time to drain out. I did share this with the hotel front desk. They did write it all down. The pool and spa turned green when we were there and we were not able to use the pool area- Which we were wanting to do. The elevators did not work when We checked in and we had to carry all our belongings up the stairs to the third floor. They eventually got one elevator working but the second one never worked during our entire stay. Years past we didn't have any issues but this stay leaves us think about choosing a different hotel option. It definitely needs some updating. Overall our stay was ok.
Uncomfort unsuites!!
Put in room directly next to a night club!! Spotty wifi. Had to change room in middle of the night. My suggestion, no help from staff. New room had no phone. Request for 1 hour late check out was denied. Requested call from GM..NO FOLLOW-UP. Located next to freeway and parking was underneath said freeway..15$ per day to park. Lastly you may want to put an age lomit on waffle making. I watched a 6 year old drop the machine when trying to flip it..batter and machine everywhere..Making a mess for the guests and staff. Elevator not working for 1 day. 3rd floor guest..no compensation or apologies for inconvenience. Stairway unclean and smelly. I could go on...
Would not recommend!
Our room was okay but our daughter’s room had a horrible moldy smell. There was a leak in the air conditioner and the carpet was all wet. Their tv also did not work. Despite repeated requests the staff did NOTHING! I would never recommend this hotel!
This is a over priced hotel,
The location of this hotel is not safe, the room smelled like mildew, there were roaches in the restroom, the pillows smelled, the pool was green, the hot tub was broke, only one elevator worked. We spent a lot of money for this place and did not enjoy our stay. This place needs to correct it's listening, all is very false. Shameful.
State Marching Band Finals
Great stay. Huge room. The customer service was excellent.
Would recommend.
Very clean room and bathroom. Comfortable beds. Friendly and helpful staff.
Hot tub was broken though, but night front desk attendant was very friendly and helpful
Got charged a parking fee for two vehicles while waiting in the lobby a guy standing outside in the area. Got on my bed truck trying to steal what I had in the back of it but wasn’t successful since I had it locked. I experienced bed bug bites the lighting in the rooms weren’t the greatest either. Some staff were really nice.
It’s a quiet place
There is a disco inches from this property that BLASTS club music until 2am fri sat sun. The hotel says they "can't do anything about it". They said their solution is to supply guests with ear plugs but unforch they were "out" during my stay. Lol. Only one elevator works. Strong mildew smells entire hotel entire city. Just outside hotel numerous homeless, one carrying a mechete, high on meth during my visit.
On our second day, the breakfast area ran out of yogurt and cream cheese.
Room and lobby smelled moldy. In hallway wallpaper was peeling off and there was mold on the wall behind the wallpaper.
Excellent value for the price! Breakfast staff Matilda was great and so were the front desk staff. I would definitely stay here again.
Fair pricing close to strip
We went on a weekend Before Halloween and there there parties every where…walking distance to the river walk.
Our first room was not even cleaned. The drawers to everything was open. There was hair on the bed that was no mine or my friends. The room smells terrible. We asked for another room and when we got to the room we asked the cleaning woman if the room was clean. She told us yes and opened the door for her to make a face and say that the room smells bad. This room smelled worse that the first. She with us there goes to start spraying smell good in the room. All in all wouldn’t recommend.
There was roaches in the Room and restroom and sheets had stains there were hairs on the pillows and sheets and hairs in the tub toilet had mold
When a property like Comfort Suites includes EV charging as one of their listed amenities don’t you think that they would have an obligation to keep those chargers in operating order? The EV chargers at this location have been non functional for years. How are they allowed to continue listing EV chargers if they have no intention of fixing them? People like my wife and I purposely book our stays at places with EV chargers and when they don’t work it causes us stress and difficulty. We feel as if we have been defrauded.
It was a comfortable stay and everything in the room worked. The area around the hotel is not great but we had no issues. Our room was above the pools and it was very noisy until 12:30am on Thursday. Friday there was a large, raucous party in the yard behind the hotel with screeching motorcycles and loud music until 2:30am. The hotel is in a convenient location and the staff was always friendly and helpful so I might stay there again but I only give it average ratings because the rooms are just average the neighborhood is a little scary.
If you get a room facing the highway, be prepared for a loud evening. This seems to be a good extended stay hotel for the in-town construction worker, but not so much for business travel, Took 15 minutes for the water at 5:54AM to get hot, no place around the area to walk (or safe to walk) to for a coffee or a snack. Not a good business travel hotel.
Upon entry, it was noticed that they allowed dogs in the building. Because my wife is highly allergic to dogs in a room, and because the fact that the hotel allowed dogs was never disclosed, the hotel agreed to refund our entire amount. Please cooperate with them in this regard.
It was nice. Breakfast wasn't so good. Eggs were tasteless. Ran out of coffee. No bananas.
Never had a problem before but this last time our room was not properly clean there was dead cockroaches in the restroom on the microwave and on the carpet. That’s a big no for me. Like I said never had this problem before very disappointed.
Esta bonito y limpio
Nice and clean
Very noisy at night
Moldy Bathroom
When arrived our room spelt like someone had just smoked marijuana. We were given another rooms however it’s was in bad shape, stained carpets and mold in the bathroom. We will never stay here again.
Bed bugs be carful
ok
Price was nice. Was likely at one time a very nice property 20 yrs ago. It’s decently clean, staff is friendly but the place is just dated. Stained carpets, walls/ceiling in different states of repair. Pool looked dirty but yet people still swimming. Ice machine on our floor didn’t work. Free breakfast was actually fair with scrambled eggs, sausage, cereals, pastries, milk, oj, apple juice, coffee and a few other items. Parking is $16/day, which isn’t bad, but it’s underneath the overpass behind the property and very sketchy. A few spots are available in the actual hotel lot in front but get there early. Location isn’t great and while it may be “close” to the riverwalk I wouldn’t recommend walking. Uber was $5-$12 one way.
Esta en una buena area para caminar e ir de compras lo unico que no me gusto fue el desayuno le falta
Everyone was very friendly. The breakfast was good for hotel breakfast. Security helped keep things safe around the property.
From the phone service to in person staff were friendly, courteous. Even housekeeping very friendly. The room very spacious, clean! Definitely stay again!
It was decent but in the ghetto. There's a bar right behind the hotel in which you hear the music all night. The tv never work the whole time I was there which was 4 days.
For the price being 248 I think I overpaid my stay because the smell of the hotel and I had to go get my own towel. My bed was it made or my room wasn’t cleaned
Awesome 👍😎
They charging a parking fee but don’t have security for that parking lot. What a coincidence 15 minutes after I showed up my truck got broken into. Then there was no hot water when we got up to get ready.
A room that was out of service the door key didn’t work needed front desk personnel to open the door every time I come back to the room This morning the night shifts took the master key so I can’t go back to my room to get my things
Nice clean hotel with a good breakfast. The area is noisy from the freeway and there are numerous homeless people around the hotel grounds.
Pretty comfortable place
A lot of homeless in the area , panhandling
Found roaches in the room. They switched our room but suboptimal cleanliness and severe water damage.
Was told from the start. I had my family of 5 that i should have gotten an another room with a working sofa bed. on there notes they had they knew that room 222 the sofa bed was not working. was offer a rolling bed. instead of getting another room. so we had less space now.
Nasty dirty mattress. I woke up to bites on my legs. Peeling wallpaper everywhere. Rust around the doors in bathroom. Looked like the floor had never been vacuumed. We checked out and went to another hotel. And they charged us an extra night. I wish I could add pics.
Everything
The hotel itself was wonderful the staff was very friendly and helpful the rooms were nice and clean. The only thing is the outside where we had to park was a bit scary it was under a bridge .
Great location, close to the river walk. Great friendly staff.
The property was a bit hard to be walkable to riverwalk as the road was desolate. However it was a great hotel at a great price.
Nice stay ! Comfy beds !
Front desk personnel was amazing ! Very friendly and helpful! For some reason our room only got 1/2 cleaned the second day - took trash and dirty towels - didn’t leave fresh towels or replenish coffee supplies. Breakfast was good and filling! Pool area was nice, had towels for pool use - hot tub was good. Was relatively close to attractions such as Riverwalk and The Alamo.
Stains on floor and bed sheets and couch, wall paper peeling off, trim coming off wall. When we first walked into room it smelled like pet urine. Elevator rails loose, sewer smell outside patio area, and homeless camped nearby under bridge, which is where the only parking is under. Definitely not worth the money spent.
Poor location
Disappointed.
Stay was not great. We booked three rooms. Mine has water pooling on the floor of the bathroom and wallpaper peeling from the wall. The couch bed had no linens. Had to go get them. My brothers room card reader was hit or miss. The first room my parents got wasn’t cleaned. They were moved, that rooms card reader wouldn’t work. Moved again. Third room was nice. AC sounded like a freight train every time it kicked on. So that woke me up. My son slipped by the pool door and hurt his foot. Feels like there should have been a rubber mat there if the floor was so slick. The lady working the counter did the best she could but seemed like she was alone at a busy time.
Totalmente sucio
Muchas cucarachas y las sábanas sucias mucho pelo en el baño y dejaron lo que alguien más dejó no pusieron nuevo el rollo de papel ni nada
Amazing staff and great room for me and my family!!
Comfort Suites Alamo - Riverwalk | Hotel in San Antonio | Travala.com
Don’t think it is close to the river walk and the Alamo - if you don’t know your way around it is a long way. Lots of maintenance and cleaning needed in and around the property.
