The grounds were very unkept and in poor condition. The smell from the restaurant was not nice. An outside door to the carpark was jammed. But the room was good and very clean and comfortable. Face cloths and an extra towel would have been nice. Also we had a missing curtain. The location was perfect. If you want a clean room in a good location, then this is ok in a budget. You just have to turn a blind eye to everything else.

Good value for money and can walk into Newmarket.

No tea bags or toilet paper, no restaurant and services as described, when someone else changed tv channel ours changed too. Overall tjo good for cost of room

Exterior of the property needs some work. Cannot store old mattresses in the car paul. No soap in bathroom. No face wash cloth.

Absolutely love this hotel and highly recommend. Aircon was cooling our room so quick and best sleep with the black out curtains got me sleeping for hours. Very affordable

Value for money was excellent. Very handy position. Plenty of parking. An elevator was a bonus. Comfortable bed. No cutlery or dishes but we’re supplied when requested. Very pleased and would recommend.

Could have some cutlery & more than one coffee cup and only 1 tea cup. Didn’t have any glasses or face clothes either. Wouldn't take a lot to be done to lift their star rating. Why weren’t the pillowcases changed between guests ? Place has so much potential. Being managed/run by Asians doesn’t help as they don’t really know what Kiwis expect or want.

The room was not clean. The floor still have rubbish 。 the duvet cover was not clean and gave yellow mark. Only one bin at bathroom and no bin at living room. Before check out time (around 9am) the staff knock our room door said they need cleaning. It is ridiculous. No service comments at all.

Excellent spot

Great spot, quiet hotel with modern vibe and comfy bed. Would have been 5 stars had the smoke stop doors not been held open with wedges. Neither safe nor secure as before 5pm anyone could have come up the stairs to the first floor.

Smelly dumpster outside that was leaking. Manager of property accused our friends of tampering with the fire alarm when they didn’t touch it. Room service didn’t make our bed properly - just pulled the duvet over top the sheet that was still bundled. Courtyard untidy and communal kitchen untidy

Good central location with adequate parking. The room was tidy enough. Although the room came with a toaster and microwave, there were no utensils or plates in the room. There is a shared kitchen though. We found empty whiskey cans in the bedside drawers from previous guests. The room provided what we needed at an affordable price.

Disappointing Customer Service

Housekeeping was quite poor, the beds although made were done so very untidily, sheets and pillow cases had holes and small rips in, including what appeared to be burnt/singe marks on the bed cover. The air conditioning unit in the main room did not work and when this was raised with the front desk, was told it was a “dummy unit” and not meant to work. Which makes little sense and given it was wired into the wall seems highly unlikely. All the dishes from the previous guests were still dirty and left in the dishwasher, which also did not work. This was also raised with the front desk, who couldn’t care less so we were left to hand wash the dishes ourself after getting a tea towel/dish washing liquid from the front desk due to none in the room. On the positive side the location is convenient and we found the beds comfortable, but this would not be enough for us to return, especially since there are several other properties nearby with the same price point.

Good location. Property very run down which we woupd have been ok with but the room was dirty. Taps hadnt been cleanned. Every surface felt grimy. Microwave was dirty. Cups were dirty. Lucky the beds were ok!

Good location in proximity to Newmarket

Everything is great! But if the staff could reply the email in time will be even better. As befor we came to NZ , I emailed a few times about self check in details due to late flight , no one replied me till 3 or 4 days later . Otherwise all good , staff are nice and helpful.

room was bright, but in need of an update to furnishing and fittings, my last stay was better, bottled water supplied and milk for tea coffee etc, not this time, and room service needed to be asked for not ideal when you are not told !

Great location and quiet room.Good price… But…. Unfortunately the staff were busy in their computers at the front desk was unattended on arrival. There was a cleaner there who ignored us, but then yelled to her colleague who came scurrying it to check us in. The carpet in the room hadn’t been vacuumed, there were long black hairs on the shower drain, yuk, and the walls needed a thorough repaint as they had scuff marks, dirt and touch up paint blotches all over them, and a most unpleasant looking stain in the valance sheet of the single bed. General maintenance around the hotel is poor, toilet roll holder missing in the bathroom, plastic knob on the end of robe hook missing. Carpets were grubby repaint needed. Reception area had a very opaque (dirt?) glass door leading to the restaurant area. Outside the carpark lines were badly faded and the Hotel frontage had general litter( takeaway bags and drinks lying in the ground , I don’t think the frontage has seen a broom in years. Sorry to say all this but the Managers or owners just need to look around them and see it . Spend a bit of money and it’ll be slick and span very quickly and clearly the cleaners need to actually clean 😀

Very unclean , the floors were not vacuumed, poor power ports close to bed , having to shift bed to find ports I discovered lots of dust u der and behind bed Not enough towels

Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is not flash or even that clean but it is cheap and very convenient to surrounding shops and transportation. Just what we wanted, thank you!

The room was absolutely fine. The non return of my jacket that I left in my room was disappointing. My fault i guess.

The Hotel was very easy to find , walking distance to Westfield Shopping Centre .

Property was a short walk to dining and shopping. Easy walk to Ededn Park.

Was a convenient place to stay for a weekend in Auckland

There were a lot of marks and stains all over the place which is somewhat understandable as some are hard to get out but some of them are clearly new and seem as if the room wasn’t even cleaned in between the person that stayed the night before and us checking in today. The sink was especially gross and dirty. The fridge is unusable it is very dirty and drippy and the milk is over 6 months out of date. The fridge also has a wire that is crackling and looks dodgy. The socket beside the bed is hanging out of the wall and doesn’t look overly safe. The microwave and jug are also quite dirty. From the photos online we did not get what we had expected at all and are quite disappointed and didn't feel comfortable staying there so we got different accommodation so felt like we wasted our money on Boulevard Hotel. very dissappointing.

Not clean. There were stains on the carpet, hair on the bed and thd fridge wasn't clean.

Friendly staff that were helpful when asked for anything. Close to Wentworth College where my son was sitting Cambridge exams. Newmarket mall walking distance away so handy to shops. Only downfall, no eating utensils in the unit, had to ask for bolls and spoons,(which were given).

Location great. Tv not working, air conditioning not working. Microwave but no plates or knives and forks if heating food. Would not recommend for 3.2 or 3 star hotel. Maybe 2. star. Checked in 4.45pm left keys at desk 6pm and checked in at Alexander Inn two properties up.

Great value for money 5 min walk to Westgate lots of restaurants nearby, and our room very peaceful.

There was no extra rea bags. When the television did not work the hotel moved us to another room, which was nice and at the back of the hotel very quiet.

Great location, close to Gillies Ave, Southern cross Hospital, it was so easy to drive to hospital. Walking distance to Westfield shopping at New market. Clean rooms, plenty of space. Friendly, helpful staff

The king bed was incredibly hard and the mattress was too big for the base it was on as overhung on one side by nearly a foot. Not a good nights.

Booked a room for the night of the All Blacks v England rugby (13th July 2024). Easy to find hotel using Google Maps. Easy free parking. Clean quiet room, good shower, friendly staff and a keen price. Would happily visit again.

Stayed many times and thought it was a little bit rundown. The shower pressure not great and temperamental. Bed comfortable and sizable rooms and overall good value. Staff helpful but not overly friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay. We were kindly phoned to let us know that our pre-paid room was ready for an early check-in if we wanted. We specifically requested a quiet room away from the elevators and that was granted. Our room was well appointed and furnished, spacious, clean, with new carpet. We will be back.

Handy to town

Lovely big, light room. Good location. However, the bedlinen was too small for the size of the bed. Also the fridge was broken and despite alerting reception sbout this it was not fixed during our 4 night stay.

We had low expectations due to previous reviews, however were pleasantly surprised by the room. It was large and clean. Towels, shampoo etc were provided for us, and the sheets were good quality. We were happy to have a microwave, however we did not have the right number of mugs, and no cutlery, plates, bowls etc. We were able to get these from the front desk, but there was a shortage of bowls. Probably the main thing to expect is that the room is minimally serviced. The rubbish was removed but sheets were not changed, or dirty dishes replaced. We weren't really expecting this so it was fine, but if you had the expectation of new dinnerware etc then you would be disappointed. All in all we felt it was a good price for what we got.

Stayed for one night with wife and 2 teenagers. Family suite worked a treat and was good value for money in a great location to our chosen destinations around Auckland.

Could use some minor touches for overall care of the facilities and service.

Great area and safe place

There was no milk in the room so unable to have hot drinks. No TV remote. Toilet roll holder broken and extractor fan in bathroom not working. Room was a good size and bed very comfortable.

Very tired, stained carpets in front of lifts on ground and first floor. Promised one room over the phone but given another on arrival. Room very average - bathroom mirror smeared and dirty, outside fridge door wouldn’t even close, bed cover had a stain on it, mattress protector all ruffled under the fitted sheet on entering the room, so the bed wasn’t even made properly and towels were smelly. Would not stay here again.

Between the rubbish piled high in the reception area, the blood stained sheets on our beds, the mold covered pillow, leaking fridge and horrible smell in the room, I wouldnt recommend staying here. Staff acted as though we were an inconvenience when asking for a clean set of sheets. There was also a large dog in the facility barking in the hall near our room around 7pm??? DO NOT BOOK SAVE YOUR MONEY GO ELSEWHERE!!!

Room was ok but carpet in Hallways was filthy which was off putting.

Everything started out great, came into the property, cards were already made, room was ready, checked into our room, the room was nice and clean, a/c was great and cold. The next morning we noticed the water pressure in shower was weak and the sink came off from the counter and started leaking. We shut off the water and advised front desk. Hours went by and it was not addressed (think the pipes just needed tightening) we again reminded them about the sink but were advised that this would not be possible until the afternoon. We asked to change rooms. They changed us to the room next door and the air conditioning did not work and was not as clean. After some troubleshooting they could not figure out how to cool down the room. They offered to let us sleep in the room next door with the working a/c and use the bathroom in the room without a/c. Not the ideal solution but it worked. Hours later, Matthew came and advised us we weren't able to use both rooms and would have to stay in the room without the working a/c. By this time it was late and the room was starting to cool down because the temperature outside had cooled down so we thought the a/c started functioning and even extended for another night. After doing some sightseeing we came back and the room was a sauna! There was also noone in sight since they only work until 5p on sundays with a sign saying to call after hours. The hallsways were cooler than the room and we were unable to sleep!

Great place for a one night stay to tour Auckland CBD landmarks at a reasonable price.

Such a comfortable stay!! The room is HUGE and clean! It has smart TV and a big bathtub! And parking is easy!

Great stay!!

This hotel is in a great location. Parking is free and off street. Staff were very polite and helpful. Bed linens and towels were fresh. There was not a hair dryer in the room, but when I asked for one, I was given one straight away and an apology that there was not one already in the room. There was only one roll of toilet tissue in the bathroom, but thankfully we were there only one night. The bathroom and kitchen area could do with a really good deep cleaning. The shower head was falling apart and had very little water pressure. You had to step up into the shower, so if all rooms are designed the same it may not be ideal for those with mobility issues. The carpet in the room was ok, but the carpets in the hallways were quite stained and worn and those areas could also use a slap of paint to freshen up the place. It was value for the money, but I wouldn't book again if staying longer than one night.

Weekend wrecker

No utensils or bread plates in shared kitchen or room. Shower door would not close, resulting in wet bathroom floor. Streaming rugby world cup semi finals was hopeless both days, smart tv set up frustrating. Left room from 10am to 2pm requested room to be serviced, not done. No replenished items, had to ask for towel replacement and rubbish removal. Bathroom floor not cleaned and dirty wet towels from wet floor not removed. Could hear elevator going up and down constantly in early hours of morning and a bizzare farting noise each time. I believe this was people doing painting preperation. Verandha from an adjoining room is next to our bedroom/lounge room and had to listen to an elevated Indian/middle eastern gentleman on his phone for sometime. The corridor from our room was masked off in plastic drop sheets and 5 asian men were painting between our room and the elevator with wet painted walls, and paint trays and pots across the floor and these men useing rollers. They had little regard gor us having to carry our personal gear from room to elevator and return on seversl trips. We had to avoid spilt paint on the plastic in order not to get it on our foot wear and spread it through walking. Hot water in shower ran out. Outside skip bins x 2 in carpark were over flowing and smelt.

The fridge wasn't clean, bed was uncomfortable (springs pushing through the mattress) so we left at 2am in the morning to head home. Couldn't sleep. We wont be returning to be honest.

I've always had a nice experience at Boulevard Hotel

The chairs had stains on them there were burn marks on bedside table the safe didnt work we didnt feel safe and we will not be staying here again.

Difficult to understand the staff and were not helpful with our questions. Cheap price so cant complain to much
