The room was quiet and clean. The parking is gated and you can feel safe staying here. Not much of a breakfast person but they did provide variety. Convenient location right off the freeway for i10 road trips.

Hotel looks to be in a bad neighborhood but the facility itself was very nice and comfortable. The lady behind the desk was very friendly and even remembered my name to wish me a pleasant evening as I was walking by the front desk. The bed was very comfortable-I got a very good night's rest-something not easy to do in a strange bed

Regretful choice

I had prepaid my room.I didn't find out until checking into the hotel that the hotel does not allow you to have guest visit I chose this location because it was a Central location for my family to be able to visit me after my chemo. Treatment. At the time of my check-in. I noticed that my reservation hadn't been corrected to include my grandchild. I told the young lady at the desk my grandchild was not listed. She was very rude, said, oh well, you would need to pay $10 now per day that it should have been done at the time of my reservation. I explained that I had called to update the reservation and they told me that they had added her and no change in the cost? I was charged through my incidentals $,20 for 2 nights plus tax. Also, the last and final straw was when my daughter try to bring food to me in my room, she was not allowed to bring the food to the room, they said that they do not allow. Food in the rooms. What kind of hotel is this obviously? Not a very good one, the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel. The young lady was the rudest. Person to deal with, she cared nothing about anybody. She was obviously mad or something going on with her. When I first arrived, I tried making small talk with her she just wouldn't even pay attention. I called customer relations, but no success with them either. They said the location was individually owned and that they would look into it.

Hotel was nice, night staff at desk was wonderful and very helpful. Room smelled of smoke/HTC. Day staff at front desk was rude and not helpful. Breakfast was good.

Sub par

Room had pee around the rim. Everywhere else appeared clean. Called front desk sge said she will look into it & hung up. I went downstairs to check what she was going to do since she wasnt clear about what she was going to do. She looked at the pee & took pics. Put us in another room, but didnt seem happy about it. Was not friendly. Beds were super firm. Half pillows uncomfortable. Breakfast area was clean & ok choices. Price was affordable but would not stay again.

My room smelled like mildew and the toilet had urine stains or rust stain but it was left unclean

The first-floor carpet was not cleaned. You can see the tracks on the carpet. Need to have REAL eggs instead of those patty eggs. For the coffee get some Delight Hazelnut.

This was my worst experience at a hotel in Houston. I paid the $100 and was told that I was refunded on my check out date 10/19 and I have yet to receive my refund. My room also had roaches I had to keep my bags on the tables .

Convenient

Front desk staff no very professional and kinda rude.

My biggest complaint would be a sign stating no visitors. I understand not wanting to have people rent out the rooms for parties, but as a grown adult if I have somebody visit my room it's not their business. Most importantly when you make a reservation online that is not refundable, you are not informed of this. Totally ridiculous.

Bad experience overall

The front desk host was heavy set older woman who was very rude to me during my stay here. The lady made me feel very uncomfortable and berated me over breakfast. I was trying to grab food for my sick boyfriend when she walked up and gave me attitude for no reason and then proceeded to stare at me uncomfortably from the front desk as if I did something wrong which did not make me feel welcomed as a guest here. I didn't see her singling out any other guests when there were plenty of loud guests in the breakfast area and families with unattended children running around, but she had a problem with me grabbing food for my sick boyfriend. It didn't need to escalate to this level, but I did not appreciate the rude behavior this front desk person gave me for doing absolutely nothing wrong. We will not be returning to this hotel ever after this terrible experience we had. Also it is nowhere close to the convention center in Houston traffic.

Horrible front desk service

The stay would have been much better and had I not expected the horrible customer service from I believe the front desk clerk Eva. She was very rude in her tone and delivery of responses. I felt as if I was a bother and irrelevant. As I was waiting on my bags I also overheard her on the phone with a customer and she displayed the same horrible customer service. From my understanding she has been there 18 years. I find it hard to believe that she hasn’t had any complaints. Had it not been for the younger clerk Merilyn I believe I would have left. She was extremely nice and apologized for my bad experience. I hope that the clerk gets held accountable for the horrible service if not consider a new career because she clearly seems miserable. It’s unfortunate that people like her represent your establishment.

it's a bit old

Slow service, slow check in

Rooms that faced the road were extremely noisy due to the high volume of traffic on the major road. The hotel is along the access road and has an interstate pedestrian bridge right next to it. The AC in Room 211 left the room smelling musty. The odor was very strong The clothes left on the chair by the AC overnight were wet in the morning and the moisture warped a book that was left on the nightstand. The check-in clerk was on her phone and did not immediately greet me as I was standing at the desk. She gave us no information when we checked in such as the location of the room- the best door to enter to get to our room, details about only one way in and out of the back gated parking lot, where the elevators were, what time breakfast was served, or the Wifi password. I have no idea who trained her, but she failed to do her job with our check-in. She did not mention ANY of that important information. Breakfast was good. The covers on the bed were too thin and the bed was rock hard. I would not recommend this motel for more than one night.

The requirement to place $100 incidental is reflection of the types of clientele they serve. The room was adequate and we did have a safe stay with no issues.

Good stay

Got double charged for the room. Called yo get an address since the Expedia app was giving me something different and was told they couldn’t give me the address. When I finally was given a key there was someone in my room and was told by the receptionist that the door was probably left open and someone went in there…

While checking in, I was forced to smell burning Marijuana. When i inquired about, i was informed that many guests will go to the back court area to smoke marijuana. I had to take a moment and question whether or not I was in Texas. I understand there are certain behaviors that are difficult to deal with, but I would hope Best awestern would work on keeping a more healthy environment at their check in desk.

Watch your back

This hotel is in a really bad part of town. I was afraid to leave the hotel by myself at night. The sheets were dirty along with the old stained sofa that looked like it needed to be taken to the dumpster. The front reception was the only good thing about this hotel. It is far away from the city, takes almost an hour with traffic just to get to the zoo.

Disappointed! Clerk was unfriendly, neighborhood is shady, room slopes to the outside, bent rain gutters lying on sidewalks. Bed was comfy.

Moldy and deposit issues

The hotel unfortunately has this moldy smell to it I'm guessing it was due to the storm that hit them recently the pull sofa bed also had black spot on the covers as well didn't get to take pictures as we had arrived almost at 2am and just wanted to rest is been almost the five days and the refund of my deposit has yet to be done. Now I'm told that the supposed 3-5 business can actually be 10-14 days

Great Value

Nice pool, exercise facili t and breakfast. Everything exceed my expectations based on the price. Very clean old but well maintained.

Our bathtub was not clean. There were several bees in our bathroom and dead bees on the window ledge.

Desk Service was rude & didn’t understand what she was doing so she couldn’t explain anything to me. I will not be back to this location.

Other than some strange noises from the elevator (it works and didn’t break down during my stay), the hotel and the staff here are some of the best I’ve stayed at. There’s gated parking if you chose and there’s so many breakfast options. Staff went above and beyond to provide small but considerate extras which made the experience better. Would come back when I’m in Houston again and recommend this hotel!

Zero stars

When I first arrived the tv remote didn’t work and they had to switch it out and then later on when we were going to bed we pulled the blankets back to get in the bed and there was what looked like dried blood on the sheets and one of the pillows was really nasty, the guy at the front desk and a manager came and looked and all they did was apologize, we left then,and went and rented another hotel , I did get a refund due to this from hotels.com , but the guy at super 8 was trying to lie to hotels.com ,but I have pics that I took right in front of him .. This place is NASTY

We really enjoyed our stay! The rooms were cleaned and beds were comfortable. They also had gated parking. Location was good with places to eat close by. Minute Maid Park was a breeze to drive to.

Great place to stay.

Everything was great!! My floor wasn't the cleanest but they took care of it immediately. (They clean the floors with towels tied to brooms. I'm not sure if that's why the floors aren't the cleanest.)

Rooms are nice, hotel was clean, some staff are nice, but if you light sleeper you have hard time sleeping due the the traffic in the road. I would stay again if I had too.

Check in was quick. Room was good. A/C in room was very easy to adjust and made the room comfortable. Room was spacious; we really like the separate sofa and desk area. Breakfast could use a revamp: would have preferred more fresh items. The eggs looked like microwaved saucers, sausage links and patties did not look appetizing. Biscuits were not taiste, grape jelly was discolored. We chose this hotel based on location and free breakfast. It was located where we needed it, but ended up having to find alternate breakfast. Elevator made sounds and was jerky.

I made reservations for this property 2 months in advance due to the need to pick up my son from the air port and i do bot drive at night. Upon arrival i was told they are not dog friendly, even though my my dog is a service dog. I asked them to call their GM, she did and still declined my stay. This caused EXTREME problems for me.

Everything was fine. Just don’t like the price hike on the snacks.

Vacation

He was very amazing and nice to stay there I recommend it to anybody. The breakfast was excellent too every morning.

Close to everything

We had a 3 day stay and everything was always in pristine condition we left the room for around 2/3 hours and when we returned our entire room was refreshed with new sheets and super tidy. I will definitely stay there again the customer attention was on point every day.

The restroom was dirty

The property is spacious and staff very helpful I was disappointed with their breakfast. I’ve stayed 3 nights and never enjoyed it at all. Very few items and very poor quality . That’s why I rated it as 3 star not 4

Comfortable. Ice machines were down

The hotel was very nice. Had a bad experience with having the wrong room assigned to me then on the second day they took my stuff out of my room and I had to get moved into a different room once I returned to the property

The young lady was very rude apond arrival was their three nights pool was closed very disappointed with the place.

Other than falling in the room from the condensation from the air conditioning, making the floor wet and falling..the room was clean

Never Again

At first I was ok with tidiness of the room but then further into my stay I was never asked for towel change, and my room’s bed never was made even though I requested to have beds made. The breakfast buffet was mediocre at best and to top it my friends watch was stolen!

Overall it was good. Price/service balanced.

our truck was stollen out of there parking lot and camera s do not record no help at all night clerk not observant enough to notice a rolloff pull into the parking lot and load the car in the middle of the night or a truck not a car

Nice,clean, friendly we enjoyed our stay

This is our 3rd stay at this hotel , the first 2 times it was great , very clean rooms, very friendly staff , hot breakfast … the 2 prior times we were on the 3rd floor , this last stay we were on the 2nd floor , in the bathroom on the floor under the sink, there was brown sticky stuff all over the floor like someone spilled a soda or coffee and it wasn’t mopped up , the toilet also had a drip of dried urine on the back of it when u raised the lid , This made me question the cleanliness of the rest of the room and I was disappointed bc the 2 previous stays everything was so clean and nice — we also had very loud ppl above us , kids running and stomping on the floor waking us up all dif hours, we told the front desk 3 dif times during our stay and they said they talked to the ppl above us but the ppl only got worse with the stomping and banging around after the front desk called them .. idk if I’ll return to this hotel or not after my last stay

Good stay for the price!

This was my first time ever visiting the state of Texas. The property was really convenient to the conference I attended downtown. Only 10 minutes away. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. The room was clean.The hotel was quiet and parking was not too bad either. I also had a quick and smooth check in and check out. I look forward to staying here again.

My stay

I was in town for a concert. So I didn’t stay long in the room. However, the staff was very friendly and courteous. Everything was clean. My only complaints would be the sketch elevator that always makes noise like the bottom is going to fall out. And the tv signal, at least in my room, was intermittently working when I did have it on. Again I felt very welcomed. Every staff member and worker I ran across was courteous. I would stay here again.
