Important: This is not a true all-inclusive resort. Restaurants are not fully included — my wife recently stayed there and only received two complimentary dinners at select restaurants. While they do require reservations (as many resorts do), this one also charges extra to dine at most of them. Be aware of the added costs.
We truly enjoyed our time at the resort. The only thing that could be improved is the cleaning especially bathroom.

This property was awful! Full of bugs, had to pay for an upgraded room that wasn’t upgraded very much. Had a broken drain that they said they would fix multiple times… never did… electric went out in only our room when using a jet tub in the room…. Called many times when it happened…said they would send someone up right away… never did until next night (1130pm) … mind you I have 4 young children while this gentlemen was making all sorts noises “fixing” the problem…. Problem never fixed and also never offered a new room due to this. I was also not even offered my money back that I had to pay to upgrade. Very frustrating experience after traveling to the Dominican for the fourth time and this place was the worst! We couldn’t even enjoy the entertainment at night due to the bugs ( and having bug spray on) wouldn’t ever go back or recommend anyone to go there!
Bahia Principe Grand has something for everyone! I recommend staying in the newly renovated suites. The family suite is excellent for families giving kids and adults privacy. The pools are well maintained and koodos to the beach staff who continuously are removing the seaweed. I would highly recommend this resort. The only downfall is the same food day after day at the beach buffet, there is no variety.
Super Fun!
We had an amazing vacation thanks to the staff of the hotel. Very accommodating and very friendly. Couldn’t ask for anything more. We were here for 10 days and we still haven’t seen the whole hotel. Definitely recommend and definitely coming back.
I liked the room, very clean and comfortable, the beach and pool area, the breakfast buffet was good, but for dinner it didn't seem very good to me, the drinks were good.
Great for families with kids .
They need to fix air conditioners and they had mosquitoes on bedrooms. Should put something around the bed for people not be eating by mosquitoes
El resort esta muy bonito la mayoria de los empleados son amables, la comida muy buena.
Bad food
I was extremely disappointed, starting with the service at the reception, the employee (Oliver) who attended to us was terrible. It took over an hour to check us in. We didn't like the food, the room cleaning service was terrible. The Wi-Fi signal was terrible, I needed a crib in the room and I had to complain twice for them to bring one. Anyway, I will not return to this hotel. For sure. The Lopesan Bavaro hotel is much better. I regret not having gone there again.
Resort was amazing. Buffet food was awful, restaurants were great. Room was marginal
Las habitaciones estan muy deterioradas y no estan limpias
If you have any issues, there is no serious customer care to solve it.
Security and lifeguards need to step up and do their jobs and move towels that are left there all day people put their towels out 8 o’clock in the morning and then I never show up until three or four
Todo estuvo excelente ya pronto regreso
Muchas actividades. Variedad en las comidas . En el bufet de la comida siempre había peste mal olor a fosa (agua estancada) y en el baño la bañadera estaba sucia como que no limpian con los líquidos de limpieza correctos . Por lo demás la pasé muy bien .
I really likes that they had the transportation carts (train) running all day. We had a great time and I loved that it had shows every night and live music every night in addition to the shows!
We had an amazing vacation. The food was excelente and the entertainment staff were awesome.
This resort is very large but easy to navigate and very nice. We had a blast. The Entertainment team is awesome, the night shows are great and the resort overall is really nice. The buffet food is meh but the a la carte restaurants are very good. The mosquitos are brutal in the evening but we used bug spray after the first night and all was fine. We are a family of 5 and had a great family vacation.
This hotel is the worst experience that I Had ever had in a resort in Dominican Republic or any other resort in the world. The hotel looks old and ugly and I DO NOT RECOMMEND the installation for pleasure.ZERO
The taxi took us to the wrong resort. They booked us in to a room that I didn’t book. There was no air on, no screens on the doors and we got eaten alive by mosquitoes. I then realized that I should be staying next door at the accommodation that I had booked. I moved and got the vacation I expected. Expedia booked the taxi. Either a mistake or corrupted. I’m not satisfied what so ever . I’m out of pocket. Bahia needs to sort this out and composite me.
Bang for your buck!
It was a very. If place having 7 hotels on site! A little confusing at first because the maps did not tell you where you were allowed to go. Food was ok. Had Better choices at different hotel I stayed at. It was interesting about tipping. No one tipped and it wasn’t expected like at other hotels. It was nice to give a tip and not feel like you didn’t give enough. Overall, loved it! Would book at Bahia resorts again for sure.
I loved everything about the hotel and especially the pool options they had.
I had horrible food poising at hotel all the time vomiting nausea non stop. The worse vacation ever.
Experiência em Punta cana do Brasil - Março/25
Somos brasileiros e estávamos dia 07.03.25 a 10.03.2025.
Great pools and beach !!! Too massive a resort for me
Great staff, friendly, helpful, and happy 😁!!
Overall the resort was fine but the communication as to services and activities was terrible. No usable maps were available nor was there listings of what was happening at different areas for entertainment . Considering the number of english speking guests, the staff should be more fluent in english. Food was disappointing at themed restaurants with the exception of the Fish Market, which was excellent. The entertainment was terrific and plentiful
This place was good value. The resort was really nice and very well kept. It’s huge so there’s lots of walking which may not be the best for families with younger children. There were 5 pools and a nice beach. Our room was newly renovated and really nice. The 2 Al a crates we ate at were well above average. The one negative was the buffet. As others have mentioned, it has an awful smell inside, and the food is just bland. You get to know what’s “okay” as your stay goes on, but overall it was a disappointment. The price was right for this hotel so I would definitely come back again.
Yes
Overall the Bahia Principe Grand in Punta Cana was good but missed out on 5 stars due to several reasons:- 1. Activities and where to find them. No signs around the stages saying when next performance was so a lot of people wandering around the complex trying to find entertainment. 2. Golf: Was unable to book a game of golf through the hotel for the course on their door step, but offered me their sister location 90 minutes drive away!! 3. Crazy golf: No signs to say where to get clubs and balls from. Found out from another confused guest it was from the Tennis hut up the road! Condition of the putting surface was terrible too. No fun at all! 4. Food was excellent from main buffet. The speciality restaurants were hit and miss, both in quality, service and quantity. Some were excellent, Mediterranean was poor all round! 5. Staff: Lots of staff around but most were trying to sell you something! The bar staff were friendly (earning their tips) and the rooms were kept very clean. 6. Overall: Grounds were clean but litter lying around in the early morning. Beware of the speeding transport buggies which silently creep up on you if you are not on the designated walkway!
The upgrade we got made our stay very enjoyable.
I've never been to a resort that has adults only in the same complex as kids friendly, which by the way uses the same beach. Food wasn't that good and our bathroom door lock was broke. The mosquitos were horrible because there was so much stagnant water around the complex. For us the price was not worth this trip.
The grounds were beautifully kept. The staff were very accomodating, even making arrangements to house friends close to us in an adjoining room.
An amazing place to be! Love it! Love it! Love it!
The rooms were not clean at all. Very dusty and grubby. Other than the rooms everywhere else was pretty clean, very busy but nothing you can do about that.
Quality of the property has gone down, I'm not even sure how this is related 4.5*. Cats walking inside the restaurant and jumping on tables to eat scraps, cockroaches on the floor, broken cabinet doors at the bar, wifi is an absolute joke. Been there 4 times but this will be the last.
We just spent March 3-7 here. It is jusy beautiful and clean. The room was a little dated, but it was jusy a place to sleep. Our days were at the pool, on the beach, wandering around. We were never bored and there was always something great to eat or drink. Bring bug spray because the mosquitos nip more inland. We had dinner at the Turquesa reort one night and wandered around the village for shopping. I would definitely go back.
Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana is the worst hotel I’ve ever been to in my life. As soon as we checked in they gave us the wrong keys to the wrong room. The workers in the lobby kept making mistakes, reservations that we made for restaurants were never put into the system, the bathroom tubs were so dirty we showered with slippers on. Ants crawling in the rooms. Cart drivers refused to give a ride without a payment (I paid for all inclusive). They were rude to my family and cursed at my sister. They love to cater to the white tourists but treat their own like trash!! Had to upgrade our room and still ran into silly problems. Drivers for the airport put the wrong time and everyone wants money for any type of assistance. Very greedy workers who don’t understand that they are not entitled to tips. Never coming back or spending my hard earned money here again.
Punta Cana itself is beautiful; the weather and beautiful beach is hard to beat. This resort was terrible. The mosquitos were awful. We dealt with them in the lobby as well as our room. The food choices in the buffet were not good. The service in the dining room was awful. Getting coffee at breakfast and anything to drink at dinner was next to impossible. The service at the bars was awful. You could stand there for a few minutes before anyone even acknowledged you. There were even times when there were multiple bartenders behind the bar with no customers and they still didn't acknowledge us when we walked up. I stayed in Villa 30 and the room condition was terrible. The lighting was awful and the limited number of outlets made it difficult. Overall our vacation was excellent because the area is so beautiful but I would never stay at this resort again, there are far better resorts .
Disappointed
The rooms needs to be upgraded, most of the workers were nice and helpful but I did run into a handful that refused to help because of the language barrier. Did not have much food options for the buffet everyday were the same options , some bartenders were rude and only wanted to assist the Spanish speaking guest . The fridge in the room did not work , we went to customer service/ the hotel lobby to advise them of this and still nobody came to fix the room or even try to accommodate us . Housekeeping came the first night and not again I needed to call for towels to be delivered. Over all it was an experience and I still made the best of it .
Loved it great vacation
I have been a few times and after this time I probably won’t go again
Our room was nice. Property around ok.Came to hotel at 1pm and we got room around 5 pm cuz it wasn’t ready yet ???!!!!Buffet restaurant needs really good renovations, when you walk in you can smell of sewer and mold. Stuff was ok some of them treated speaking Spanish guests better than us and it’s not only my opinion but we met several not Latino guests treating nasty by the hotel stuff Only nice when you tip them well all the time Restaurant had no utensils and napkins on those nasty dirty tables The beach was so crowded too many ppl at one small beach. Resort didn’t do anything when a lady took our beach chairs and was fighting with us for a space when I reserved spot at 4 am very disrespectful !!!! I would never back and never recommend this Resort !!
Club was fun
Property was nice. My 1st room the tub didn't work so I had to be moved to a different room, but when it came time to move me I was asked to wait another day because the front desk didn't give me proper instructions. once moved the bathroom was full of mold and I had to continuously request facial towels. The WiFi did not work unless you were in certain parts of the lobby. eating in the dinning area I observed a live crawling roach on the fish once reported the staff I reported it to seemed upset with me. the lines were long at all the bars. the staff barely spoke English and they only played Spanish music, I felt lost.
Great location with lots to do and amazing beach front
Large property, nice pools and beaches.
Everything was perfect, except there were too much mosquitos, especially at night and stuff.Don't do anything about it
During our stay, we enjoyed excellent cuisine, with a variety of delicious and well-prepared dishes. The beach and the pool were spectacular, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. Additionally, the entertainment service was dynamic and very fun, offering activities for all ages. However, the cleanliness of the room and the bathroom left much to be desired, as they were not kept in proper condition, which affected our experience in that regard.
Comfortable and friendly
Unfortunately our stay was not good. The room that we stayed in is very outdated and had too many mosquitoes . Several people that I spoke had to go to the hospital for a IV antibiotics. The staff was very un prepared when we arrived. I had to come to a front desk several times and stay in the line to receive the towels cards.
It has beautiful views and the beach was so nice!
My original room had water leaking from the air conditioner and the roof of the shower from the room shower above. Advised the resort staff and they did get me another room but it took over a day and I was made to feel like they were doing me a favour. Plus I was not given any information about what was expected, I arrived at the lobby check in as requested and then told I needed to have my luggage with me and was told I would have to get it and bring it to the lobby, there was no offer to assist us in getting it. I know it seems minor but you would expect that the staff would at least try to make the transition easier but nope nothing. No sorry for the inconvenience or anything just an attitude that we were creating an inconvenience for them.
Stay was nice, easy access to the beach and pools. There’s “luxury” areas they don’t let you in or tell you about but the normal resort was plenty big. Buffet was average but the restaurants were very good. Pools were big with one bar at each. Room was big and nice.
Great service
Fantastic Stay at Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana! We had a great time at Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana! The resort’s location is excellent, with beautiful pools and well-maintained grounds. The service was generally very good, with standout staff members making our experience even better. The food was enjoyable, especially at Tequila, Rodizio, and the Buffet—each offering great variety and quality. Mikado Restaurant had delicious food as well, but unfortunately, the hostess had a terrible attitude. Thankfully, the servers went above and beyond to make up for it. A special shoutout to Jesus, Rielyn, and Luis from Tequila for their exceptional service! Beyond the resort, Petion from Coming2 recommended Domitai Park, and it was an absolutely incredible experience—definitely a must-do! A helpful tip for travelers—bring U.S. dollars as they are widely accepted and much more convenient for tipping and purchases. Pesos don’t go as far, and most places prefer dollars. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would recommend this resort for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation! Let me know if you want any more tweaks!
Great resort but too many people selling on the property whether it be excursions or souvenirs and up selling rooms when checking in. They will put you in an old villa that is musty and no air conditioning which forces your hand to upgrade.
Property was beautiful! Lot of pools, restaurants, daily activities, music, and the people were super helpful and nice.
The property is amazing and the staff is second to none. The only complaint is the main buffet has a horrible smell and we couldn’t eat in there. But aside from that everything else was perfect!
Overall good experience with the resort. Good food options, great service, pools, beaches, drinks…enjoyed the stay! Only downside was that some of the equipment in the washrooms is pretty old and has gunk formed around. I recommend this resort for a great vacation!
This was an good stay. Staff were mostly very friendly and accommodating. Things get pretty wild down at the beach and at the beachside pool as well, with long waits for drinks. It's hard to get a spot and keep it even with your stuff sitting on the chairs. Don't forget your bug spray. They are ferocious once the sun goes down. Food was okay. Always plenty to eat and plenty of options.
The property was amazing - in great shape and really kind staff. The only thing I would say is the vendors were a bit aggressive with trying to sell things.
Great place and very friendly staff. Would come back again
Very nice large property. Lots of activity options without excursions. Food was very good and staff were friendly.
horrible customer service
The Grand Punta Cana is not the best place.. the rooms are disgustingly, the food was a subpar at the buffets. Mosquitoes are horrible.. would not recommend
Staff was excellent! Everyone was friendly and willing to help.
I enjoyed the entertainment. There was a lot going on and great for families. The beach was great and the pools. I was also happy to have had an upgrade from Grand Punta Cana resort to Fantasia. I’m writing the review so that the management is aware of a few things; firstly, the room was good but had a few problems with the washroom. The toilet kept running all night, the shower temperature was constantly changing from cold to hot, and the towel holder fell from the wall on my foot. The buffet tables always had a fork, plate, cup, salt and pepper shakers missing, and I always had to ask a server to bring me whatever was missing. Finally, the showers in the refreshing area downstairs in the lobby were not clean and one of them was missing a curtain and another of them did not work(no water). Other than that it was a nice place.
I'll start with good...the property/beach was beautiful. Transportation around the resort was great. The al a crate restaurants were very clean and food was delicious, staff very friendly. The couple shows that we could sit through were great, the performers did a wonderful job. But the bad .... Our room (Junior Suite) was dated and the cleaning of the room wasn't great at all. You could tell it was a rush job, bathroom wasn't cleaned the way it should be. We stayed for 10 days and would recommend that instead of cleaning the rooms on a daily basis (a lick and a promise) they should do it every few days and do a deep clean. Providing clean towels/facecloths daily. During our stay we had to call for towels and facecloths three times. We also mosquitos/sand flies in the room. It was unreal. Actually the mosquitos were so bad that you couldn't sit out in the evening without being bitten everywhere. Not sure if it was just the time of year but something has to be done in and around the lobby. We found the staff had a hard time to understand us which made communication difficult. The sound system in theater was so loud that it felt like someone was screaming at you all evening, no need. The food in the buffets was just ok. Definitely need to add more variety and change it up it was the same choices everyday. It's too bad because it the layout, the grounds, beach and the pools is great but there is a lot of room for improvements.
Hay 7 hoteles dentro de la misma propiedad. Me encanto!!
Food 3/10
Basic rooms were terrible toilet wasn’t flushing we upgraded to a villa.
The staff needs to be trained on guest service. We went out to visit some places and the people were rude and they overcharged for every service. The surround area were not clean. They need to get invest more on the area because it has much more potential for truism
Great property but very busy. Getting to lobby for buffet requires a shuttle.
Ok so if you want a decent priced all inclusive it was decent. If you have a short stay al carte only entitled to one. I never experienced that. So we only got to attend one restaurant. The food at buffet was mediocre hit or a miss. Then they have isla for food late hours or in between buffet and it was horrible. No room service. . They had an entertainment event and tried to charge us when it’s in the hotel. And by the hotel. Entertainment was ok, casino etc. pools are nice . The rooms we stayed in were horrible definitely need to upgrade all their rooms I guess if you paid more you can get a better room but no. They had two sheets as a comforter blanket. I would rate it 5/10 all together
MUST READ this resort is a no go if you don’t want to walk it is huge, they say they have 14 restaurants you can book but never have any reservations available. The rooms are very old with no views and I got covered in bed bug bites. When I asked to move rooms they were not accommodating at all. No on speaks English but they can ask you for tips really fast. We found hair in our food twice! Good luck finding a lounge chair by the three pools or beach as well. We stayed at the Punta Cana grand area which is as I said very old there was 12 of us my daughter was upgraded to fantasia which is in the same area because her room was not available which we initially thought was very nice but in doing so she was not allowed to eat with us so she spent every meal alone they would not let us upgrade or her even down grade the customer service at this resort is the worst I have ever experienced I my life and I have traveled all over the world if I could rate this a negative star I would stay away!!!!!!
Nothing remarkable… food a major disappointment…. Rooms clean and staff were fantastic….
It was very clean. The staff was very nice, but there was no food around the pools. It was too large There was no information given about events going on, and you I was limited to only two restaurants. The food was not the best.
This is our second time staying here, and we came with our three children. The upgraded rooms are great, the service was amazing, the food variety great as well. The resort is beautiful and highly recommend booking all your activities at the hotel because they offer pick up and drop off from the resort. The airport pickup and drop off was also very convenient and great definitely worth the cost. The only thing I can point out is the little ants. It didn’t bother us as much but our kids did not like it. A few just would come in through the balcony window. We will definitely come back again and also visit other locations as well.
I liked that there were lots of different options for entertainment in the evening. I also enjoyed the themed party nights.
Nice stay, I wish the food would be better.
Hired more people that like to do the job and not just be there. Their face need to smile and be helpful.
The resort is good. If you really want to enjoy your stay at Bahia Príncipe Grand Punta Cana then make sure to get room between Villa 1 to 28. I would highly recommend to complete check in online so you can book your La Carte dinners. Depends on your number nights stay you get dinners. Casa Blanca and The Greek are the best restaurants. Also there is lunch buffet at Tequila at beach. Breakfast and dinners buffets are best in Lobby 1. Their shuttle service is good to go around resort. Mosquitoes are problems so make sure to carry off sprays and bug zappers but most importantly try to get room in. Villa 1 to 28 (newly renovated area). Beach is nice, pools are nice and water parks are nice for kids. For beach and pools chair make sure to wake at 7 and put your belongings to reserve chairs otherwise good luck finding any chairs. Staffs are very nice and try to appreciate their help and efforts. Google translate app will come very handy, as most of the staff only speaks Spanish. We had fun, as we had room in renovated area and also prepared for mosquitoes. Enjoy and hopefully this reviews help as there are so much negative about this resort but you need to know where to eat and stay within resort to get the best out of your stay!!
It took 3 tries to get an extra blanket. It seems the staff was nice but sometimes pretended to understand English, because each time we called guest services, they had no idea about the previous requests. We’re never got a response to a leak from our bathroom ceiling, after 2 reports. The check in process was exhausting, no one knowing which front desk we should use. Otherwise it’s a nice place near a great beach. The buffet was meh, the restaurants ok.
Great hotel for the party people
The hotel was nice, pools and beach were good. Most of the workers there were kind, only few spoke English. This hotel is more for the people who likes to party. Loud music playing late. Didn’t quite feel relaxed after a week there. On the hotel area there was sellers from the shops/spa/tours etc. who wouldn’t leave you alone. This was pretty annoying. The buffet was soo big, but the food there wasn’t so good. All the meats so dry, not much spices used. Breakfast was okay! All guides at the hotel area were poor. You didn’t know for sure at first where you can eat, since the hotel was so big. Couldn’t find gym without asking etc. Tried to do laundry. From the hotel’s app we didn’t get the laundry pack, then went to client service to ask. Didn’t got it either that way. So the service was little poor too. At the Orchidea restaurant the guy making omelets was awesome! Singing and being so kind :) great energy
Todo limpio y atención de los servicios excelente
If you are unsure, wait and it all works out great
When we first arrived my wife was not happy. The first impression wasnt so great, the place is very big, and my wife didnt like how far away everything is from our room. So i said to her, lets give it two days, if you are still unhappy we'll leave early and find a normal hotel. Thankfully, the next day she was happy. After you understand how the shuttle system works, its easy to get everywhere in the resort. The people are very friendly and helpful, the entertainments are fun. The food is good. The beach is great. In the end we were very happy, and we will gladly stay here again.
Very good
What I like is the attention they give to their customers.
Everything
Check-in process was awful! Long slow moving line. Finally get to room and keys didn't work, back to front desk to wait again. Go to pool, find out we didn't receive required towel cards at check-in, back to front desk again. Rooms need updating, toilets didn't function correctly, sink drain covers missing, VERY noisy AC. Need to slam the door in order for them to close correctly. Which leads to doors slamming at all times of day and night. Cleaning/Restocking staff constantly pounding on doors and no 'Do not disturb' signs available. Food Buffets were poor quality. Food lacked flavor, meats were dry and much of the food was cold. It would be better if they decreased options and focused more on quality. Transportation. Booked airport transport directly through hotel website weeks in advance, which did include ALL flight info and times, names etc. We were still required to stop in the lobby TWICE to confirm. I can understand once, but twice is ridiculous. Nobody wants to keep standing in line to confirm something already completed online.
Very nice and clean resort
The property needs improvement on; cleanness, mosquitoes in areas, bad smell on buffet area like mangle or septic water, this is very disagreeable. The overalll was good.
Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana - All Inclusive | Home in Punta Cana | Travala.com
Good hotel, staff is very friendly. The only observation i have is that there are a lot of mosquitoes inside the rooms. So if you want to travel make sure you have repellent, because its almost 40 dollars. Other than that, we had a good time!
