Fantastic Stay at Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana! We had a great time at Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana! The resort’s location is excellent, with beautiful pools and well-maintained grounds. The service was generally very good, with standout staff members making our experience even better. The food was enjoyable, especially at Tequila, Rodizio, and the Buffet—each offering great variety and quality. Mikado Restaurant had delicious food as well, but unfortunately, the hostess had a terrible attitude. Thankfully, the servers went above and beyond to make up for it. A special shoutout to Jesus, Rielyn, and Luis from Tequila for their exceptional service! Beyond the resort, Petion from Coming2 recommended Domitai Park, and it was an absolutely incredible experience—definitely a must-do! A helpful tip for travelers—bring U.S. dollars as they are widely accepted and much more convenient for tipping and purchases. Pesos don’t go as far, and most places prefer dollars. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would recommend this resort for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation! Let me know if you want any more tweaks!

Great resort but too many people selling on the property whether it be excursions or souvenirs and up selling rooms when checking in. They will put you in an old villa that is musty and no air conditioning which forces your hand to upgrade.

Overall good experience with the resort. Good food options, great service, pools, beaches, drinks…enjoyed the stay! Only downside was that some of the equipment in the washrooms is pretty old and has gunk formed around. I recommend this resort for a great vacation!

This was an good stay. Staff were mostly very friendly and accommodating. Things get pretty wild down at the beach and at the beachside pool as well, with long waits for drinks. It's hard to get a spot and keep it even with your stuff sitting on the chairs. Don't forget your bug spray. They are ferocious once the sun goes down. Food was okay. Always plenty to eat and plenty of options.

I enjoyed the entertainment. There was a lot going on and great for families. The beach was great and the pools. I was also happy to have had an upgrade from Grand Punta Cana resort to Fantasia. I’m writing the review so that the management is aware of a few things; firstly, the room was good but had a few problems with the washroom. The toilet kept running all night, the shower temperature was constantly changing from cold to hot, and the towel holder fell from the wall on my foot. The buffet tables always had a fork, plate, cup, salt and pepper shakers missing, and I always had to ask a server to bring me whatever was missing. Finally, the showers in the refreshing area downstairs in the lobby were not clean and one of them was missing a curtain and another of them did not work(no water). Other than that it was a nice place.

I'll start with good...the property/beach was beautiful. Transportation around the resort was great. The al a crate restaurants were very clean and food was delicious, staff very friendly. The couple shows that we could sit through were great, the performers did a wonderful job. But the bad .... Our room (Junior Suite) was dated and the cleaning of the room wasn't great at all. You could tell it was a rush job, bathroom wasn't cleaned the way it should be. We stayed for 10 days and would recommend that instead of cleaning the rooms on a daily basis (a lick and a promise) they should do it every few days and do a deep clean. Providing clean towels/facecloths daily. During our stay we had to call for towels and facecloths three times. We also mosquitos/sand flies in the room. It was unreal. Actually the mosquitos were so bad that you couldn't sit out in the evening without being bitten everywhere. Not sure if it was just the time of year but something has to be done in and around the lobby. We found the staff had a hard time to understand us which made communication difficult. The sound system in theater was so loud that it felt like someone was screaming at you all evening, no need. The food in the buffets was just ok. Definitely need to add more variety and change it up it was the same choices everyday. It's too bad because it the layout, the grounds, beach and the pools is great but there is a lot of room for improvements.

Ok so if you want a decent priced all inclusive it was decent. If you have a short stay al carte only entitled to one. I never experienced that. So we only got to attend one restaurant. The food at buffet was mediocre hit or a miss. Then they have isla for food late hours or in between buffet and it was horrible. No room service. . They had an entertainment event and tried to charge us when it’s in the hotel. And by the hotel. Entertainment was ok, casino etc. pools are nice . The rooms we stayed in were horrible definitely need to upgrade all their rooms I guess if you paid more you can get a better room but no. They had two sheets as a comforter blanket. I would rate it 5/10 all together

MUST READ this resort is a no go if you don’t want to walk it is huge, they say they have 14 restaurants you can book but never have any reservations available. The rooms are very old with no views and I got covered in bed bug bites. When I asked to move rooms they were not accommodating at all. No on speaks English but they can ask you for tips really fast. We found hair in our food twice! Good luck finding a lounge chair by the three pools or beach as well. We stayed at the Punta Cana grand area which is as I said very old there was 12 of us my daughter was upgraded to fantasia which is in the same area because her room was not available which we initially thought was very nice but in doing so she was not allowed to eat with us so she spent every meal alone they would not let us upgrade or her even down grade the customer service at this resort is the worst I have ever experienced I my life and I have traveled all over the world if I could rate this a negative star I would stay away!!!!!!

This is our second time staying here, and we came with our three children. The upgraded rooms are great, the service was amazing, the food variety great as well. The resort is beautiful and highly recommend booking all your activities at the hotel because they offer pick up and drop off from the resort. The airport pickup and drop off was also very convenient and great definitely worth the cost. The only thing I can point out is the little ants. It didn’t bother us as much but our kids did not like it. A few just would come in through the balcony window. We will definitely come back again and also visit other locations as well.

The resort is good. If you really want to enjoy your stay at Bahia Príncipe Grand Punta Cana then make sure to get room between Villa 1 to 28. I would highly recommend to complete check in online so you can book your La Carte dinners. Depends on your number nights stay you get dinners. Casa Blanca and The Greek are the best restaurants. Also there is lunch buffet at Tequila at beach. Breakfast and dinners buffets are best in Lobby 1. Their shuttle service is good to go around resort. Mosquitoes are problems so make sure to carry off sprays and bug zappers but most importantly try to get room in. Villa 1 to 28 (newly renovated area). Beach is nice, pools are nice and water parks are nice for kids. For beach and pools chair make sure to wake at 7 and put your belongings to reserve chairs otherwise good luck finding any chairs. Staffs are very nice and try to appreciate their help and efforts. Google translate app will come very handy, as most of the staff only speaks Spanish. We had fun, as we had room in renovated area and also prepared for mosquitoes. Enjoy and hopefully this reviews help as there are so much negative about this resort but you need to know where to eat and stay within resort to get the best out of your stay!!

It took 3 tries to get an extra blanket. It seems the staff was nice but sometimes pretended to understand English, because each time we called guest services, they had no idea about the previous requests. We’re never got a response to a leak from our bathroom ceiling, after 2 reports. The check in process was exhausting, no one knowing which front desk we should use. Otherwise it’s a nice place near a great beach. The buffet was meh, the restaurants ok.

Great hotel for the party people

The hotel was nice, pools and beach were good. Most of the workers there were kind, only few spoke English. This hotel is more for the people who likes to party. Loud music playing late. Didn’t quite feel relaxed after a week there. On the hotel area there was sellers from the shops/spa/tours etc. who wouldn’t leave you alone. This was pretty annoying. The buffet was soo big, but the food there wasn’t so good. All the meats so dry, not much spices used. Breakfast was okay! All guides at the hotel area were poor. You didn’t know for sure at first where you can eat, since the hotel was so big. Couldn’t find gym without asking etc. Tried to do laundry. From the hotel’s app we didn’t get the laundry pack, then went to client service to ask. Didn’t got it either that way. So the service was little poor too. At the Orchidea restaurant the guy making omelets was awesome! Singing and being so kind :) great energy

If you are unsure, wait and it all works out great

When we first arrived my wife was not happy. The first impression wasnt so great, the place is very big, and my wife didnt like how far away everything is from our room. So i said to her, lets give it two days, if you are still unhappy we'll leave early and find a normal hotel. Thankfully, the next day she was happy. After you understand how the shuttle system works, its easy to get everywhere in the resort. The people are very friendly and helpful, the entertainments are fun. The food is good. The beach is great. In the end we were very happy, and we will gladly stay here again.

Check-in process was awful! Long slow moving line. Finally get to room and keys didn't work, back to front desk to wait again. Go to pool, find out we didn't receive required towel cards at check-in, back to front desk again. Rooms need updating, toilets didn't function correctly, sink drain covers missing, VERY noisy AC. Need to slam the door in order for them to close correctly. Which leads to doors slamming at all times of day and night. Cleaning/Restocking staff constantly pounding on doors and no 'Do not disturb' signs available. Food Buffets were poor quality. Food lacked flavor, meats were dry and much of the food was cold. It would be better if they decreased options and focused more on quality. Transportation. Booked airport transport directly through hotel website weeks in advance, which did include ALL flight info and times, names etc. We were still required to stop in the lobby TWICE to confirm. I can understand once, but twice is ridiculous. Nobody wants to keep standing in line to confirm something already completed online.

Expensive for the poor quality service. Terrible management. Don’t waste your money here!! LOTS of mosquitoes and bugs. Bad smell in the restaurants. Terrible staff service. 1. Availability to Ala Carte restaurants shouldn’t be limited to the # of days of stay. 2. Quality of the food in buffet mainly has to improve and food has to labelled properly in English. 3. Quality of the ala carte restaurant’s food also need to improve 4. Reception service specially at the time of check in has to improve. Include some sort of orientation program for the guests so that they are aware of all the amenities and any restrictions to use it or not. 5. Isla snack bar menu was showing so many items on the board but only handful items were available to order from digital board or from the counter. Snack bar should provide some well varieties of the food and # of snack bar also need to increased. 6. The App is not that intuitive. 7. Language problems. Staff should know basic English so that non Spanish people can communicate properly.

I stayed at Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana between December 21 and 26, 2024 with my wife. Starting with the things I liked anything that did not have “Bahia” label was good. Things we didn’t like is a long list - Constant shortage of supplies: every single day something we asked for was missing.One day it was beach towels, another day it was whiskey at the bar, food at the buffet, beach long chairs…etc. but even worse thing was staff simply didn’t care about such inconveniences. - Sloppy service: staff did “selectively” speak English. When the question was challenging they rather kept the responses in Spanish. - Noisy housekeeping staff: every day I woke up with noisy chatters of housekeeping staff. They had no respect of guests trying to have sleep. - Outdated facility: hotel overall is in a pretty poor condition. Room was spacious but had no bedside power outlets. We could see moldy or rusty areas in and around the rooms. - Dirty bath towels: the first day we checked in bath towels literally had stains. After paying $3 tip we finally got some cleaner towels. - Overcharge fee: During my check out I was charged for the services I used. When I returned back to the US I saw an additional $49 that I did not authorize. Sent an email to the hotel but have not received a response yet. I am expecting Expedia to help me for this unauthorized surcharge. Overall, Bahia Principe is a complete disappointment. Had the worst vacation experience. I wish Expedia never offered this hotel!

If you got sick or tired and cannot leave the room , which could happen to anyone , you are screwed as no room service and you ARE NOT ALLOWED to take food out of any restaurant . So basically you should suffer illness and hunger . I saw a lady begging them to take food to her husband who is diabetic and craving for food and sugar , staff tell her take him a piece of bread 😬. Staff know only one thing and very good at it , not to tell the truth .

The food was not great, I’ve been several times to this resort and the food is getting worse and worse each year. Time to try another location

I have 69 y/o companion and placed me on the 3rd floor walk up building… with leaking stinky bathroom. Goin back, it was hard to get the tram/train , as the driver wont tale us with one hand carry size luggage! We ended up walking from villa 29 to the lobby! Just so we dont miss our pick up. Also before hand, it took forever to get in touch with representative nor the booking mngt to confirm my booking before arrival

The facility offers great value for money. We felt Spanish speakers have advantage, as they can enjoy a wide range of food options and receive attentive service. We had a wonderful time engaging in activities such as ocean swimming, enjoying the fantastic weather, and relaxing in the impressive pools. However, there are areas that could be improved, such as the reception's welcoming approach, the efficiency of scanning QR codes for maps and services, and the slightly rushed demeanor of the staff, which was a bit disappointing. Booking two rooms for my family of four resulted in one comfortable bed and 1.5 extremely uncomfortable sofa beds. The challenge of securing beach chairs in the morning was frustrating, particularly with guests reserving them using blue towels, while empty beige chairs (reserved for luxury clients) surrounded us. Furthermore, navigating the Bahia app and website for restaurant reservations and excursions proved to be time-consuming and unhelpful. Please visit the lobby and get service. I have visited the Bahamas 3 times, but this might be my last visit to the Dominican.

The superior room was really good, staff very friendly, buffet was good, beach beautiful, but dont forget your mosquito spray, very necessary and quiet expensive at hotel. The hotel give evening activities. A lot entertainments. Iam really happy with their staff. Really professional. ☆☆☆☆☆

Pros were: Buffets, restaurants had a wide variety of excellent food. The resort is easily walkable or if you need there are shuttles to transport you to anywhere you want to go. The staff was helpful and friendly but not as much as Mexico. Rooms were dated but cleaned and stocked with water, beverages and towels each day. The AC worked very well. The wristbands are your key to get in and that is a great perk! The beach and water was beautiful and had lots of chairs. The pools were less busy than the beach, there were a lot of pools and all were kept very clean. Washrooms were clean and well stocked. There is a little shopping village that is part of the resort that had a variety of all kinds of shops with mostly reasonable prices. Bring your own bug spray as they charged way too much for a small bottle. Cons: The mosquitoes in the evening were horrible in and around the lobbies and theatre. No one gave any kind of orientation as to what was on the resort or times/places for meals when we arrived so we missed breakfast the first morning and we had no idea that there were 2 identical lobbies on both sides of the theatre. The resort is huge and there were lineups, mostly for breakfast/bars. Beach was packed with people with almost no space between anyone. The specialty drinks were made with mixes and were horrible.We were told premium meant we could only have certain liquors, not kahlua, baileys, bourbon, scotch, not even the cheap knock offs unless we paid extra.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and very nice. The room was okay, I would have totally paid more for the updated room. The food was good at the buffet. What I didn't like was the sewer smell when you walked in. At times it was very over powering. The restaurants we went to took almost 2 hours to get our food. The Asian and Italian one. We left before desert. We did have a party of 6 with two children, we also had a few food allergies peanuts and dairy. So we believe that was why. It did happen twice so we did not use the rest of our reservations which was three more. The beach was amazing and so was the pool. Overall the stay was okay. If we where to go back we would pay the extra for Esmeralda or another luxury hotel that is part of Bahia.

Our stay was amazing. We had a lot of fun since we wake up until we go to sleep. The staff was very kind and gentle all the time and the service was excellent. We didn't go anywhere outside the hotel complex because it has it all. Every night there where live music in the lobby area and the disco and casino were open until 3am. Overall, we had an unique vacation time and can't wait to come again!!

I think food could get better. As well as the transportation from rooms to other areas of the resort. One of the nights we were at the resort it was pouring raining and the carts would NOT stop at the stop we were waiting to get to the lobby of the resort, unless people were getting off and they would not let us get on the carts. the amount of scouts on the resort pools and beach’s to be lowered, in one hour 5-7 people came up to us trying to get us to purchase an excursion, and no amount of no would get them to leave us alone.

Took 3 hours to even get to the desk to get a room key ended up paying to stay at a different resort ! Still haven’t received my refund but the property wrote down my information SUCKS 0 stars 3 star resort if you enjoy smelly lobby’s and long wait… cheap and old you get what you pay for!!!

I would like to say the room we were in is desperate need for renovations, along with the fact the it was very humid and felt damp and made our clothes damp as well. We tried to change rooms but the front desk after saying they would did not. It was our first time in Punta Cana and I doubt we will return at least to this resort.

Everything was excellent very beautiful. Enjoyed every night and day we were there. I do think the dining could be a little different for the all inclusive due to large lines. They provide a little plastic glass, so you’re in line most of the time and then for breakfast or dinner if you want something made you’re waiting in line as well versus that food already being ready or a majority of it like the rest of the food and providing larger glasses, so you’re enjoying your vacation and not standing in lin, I also think that the room should already come with two towels for the pool where you don’t have to wait for a card because every night we would go and try to get a card and they did not have one available till I think the night before, we were leaving. Other than that, everything is very, very beautiful. The other guest that you meet are very friendly and the staff are respectful and friendly. And the resort is very beautiful and clean. Thank you.

It is a really big resort with a lot to offer… but it’s poorly managed and set up; you’ll do a lot of figuring things out for your own. The buffet is the worst food I’ve ever had! Avoid at all costs!
