The staff and property are lovely. Juan, by the pool; Jayson, Angela, Pedro, and MANY more are wonderful at the buffet.
Absolutely superb 5 star hotel with very friendly, polite staff. Unlimited food and drinks, bags into your room and congratulation if it is special day for you as the guest (for example - birthday)
Recently stayed at Bahia Principe Luxury Aquamarine for a friend’s 40th birthday, and it was a disappointing experience. Booking through a third party meant we couldn’t access the app for restaurant reservations, making dining a nightmare. Limbo was the only decent dining experience, with attentive staff, but they forgot the birthday cake we requested. Our 10 p.m. reservation at Meat on the Ambar side was a disaster. We were treated poorly, most menu items were unavailable, and the drinks were so watered down we had to buy our own bottle of wine. The T-bone steak we ordered was inedible, and when we voiced concerns, the server became upset, forcing the manager to step in. The rest of the stay wasn’t much better. The food caused stomach issues, the alcohol was undrinkable, and the “superior” room smelled like sewage and faced a porch overrun by feral cats. Finding pool chairs was impossible unless you woke up at sunrise, and transportation around the resort required constant tipping. The only highlight was the spa. I travel frequently, and this was by far one of the most disappointing resort experiences I’ve had.
My girlfriend and I stayed at the aquamarine for a week. Room as a little dated, but you should be enjoying the sun all day so not a huge deal Isaac and Ray with the entertainment staff were fantastic! Always a lot of energy and engaging Bartender at the pool bar, (forget how to spell his name) he was amazing all weekend Would definitely go back
Had a great time at this resort! Shout out to Francis (server) in the buffet and Walter (dancer) at night time entertainment. They really added to an already great experience. Staff was wonderful, activities were fun. We felt very safe at this resort. Food options in the buffet were great; tasty and fresh with good variety.Beautiful beach; only too much seaweed by the shore but once you get in the water, its fine. Would definitely go back.
overall great experience. staff friendly. big enough to not see same person more then once during stay. plenty of dining options. cons, no room service. property rundown. finding lounge chairs after 10am is nearly impossible. also we had a situation with our towels in the end.

I would definitely not stay at the Bahia Principe Aquamarine again. The check in staff are terribly slow and have no idea what an Expedia VIP Gold member is. We didn’t receive any of the VIP perks that Expedia offered. No room upgrade or a pool or garden view, my view was the service road for the workers and garbage trucks. The beach is a shuttle ride away and you need to walk a very long way to get to the shuttle and also to the buffet. The a la carte restaurants that we are at were not good although the staff is nice at them. You can not book the restaurants because they are always booked up and the Bahia app doesn’t work half the time. The jets in our tub kept flying out and the mattress might by the hardest I’ve ever stayed at any hotel. The pools were very cold and are not heated. The jacuzzi is just a bubbly pool and is not heated so beware. The rooms are outdated. The entertainment is ok but the Karaoke was not available the whole time we were there as their app was not working for it. Expedia talked this resort up and has made it a VIP property and they should be embarrassed. Do not stay here and book somewhere else.

The nighttime entertainment was great. There was usually a place by the pool available. The beach was much busier than the pools. While not unexpected, a large number of the staff only spoke Spanish, making communication difficult.
Overall a good resort, only negative thing would be is if you went over to the other areas of the resort and have a yellow wristband its like you were looked down on by the staff and other guests.
Everything is perfect at this resort including food and service. However only food at the main dinning/cafeteria hall is good, not at the offerings at reserved restaurants aren’t that great. For example, medeterian food at the Mediterran restaurant doesn’t taste like Mediterran food. Similarly food at the Indian restaurant, the food doesn’t taste like indian food!
We liked everything except the food was not good in any of the specialty restaurants. The buffet was great. We arrived on Tuesday afternoon and couldn't get any reservation's at normal times in any restaurants. We had to get up early to save us chairs at the pool. Did not like that. The staff was amazing.

The property is pretty, BUT they allow people to put towel in the c pool chair so at 10 am no chairs available. The food at the restaurant is bad. I will not come here again.

This resort was the perfect getaway. The room was spacious and located right by the pool. The staff were very nice especially by the pool. The food was really good at this resort. Definitely can’t wait to come back again!
Absolutely Disgusting – Do Not Stay Here! If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This is by far the filthiest hotel I have ever stepped foot in. From the moment I walked in, I was hit with a horrible smell—like a mix of mildew, garbage, and something I don’t even want to identify. The walls have some kind of mystery grime on them, and the bathroom? Let’s just say I didn’t dare step in without shoes on. But the absolute worst part? The cockroaches. Crawling on the walls, scurrying across the floor, even on the bed. Housekeeping is clearly nonexistent, and I honestly don’t think this place has been properly cleaned in years. The sheets were stained, the towels had a weird smell, and I’m pretty sure something was living in the air vents. Do yourself a favor and stay literally anywhere else. Sleeping in your car would be cleaner and safer than spending a night in this nightmare of a hotel.
Everything was beautiful and the staff was amazing. The buffet was great, but the other restaurants were okay. The best one was Meat. I wish the beach was closer.
Booked a private shuttle off Expedia and had problems getting back to the airport on the last day. Had to pay extra and call a cab to get to the airport on time.
The best resort so far from my experience is my 9th time in Punta Cana One thing I have to mention the room when I stay in it has to be an upgrade And the best Restaurant for me is El Olivo
Overall the property is very large and going to places takes a bit of time , the trolleys help but during the peak times you have to wait sometimes for a long time. Also , what we found out was that in order to go to any of the nice restaurants that were offered in the package we had to make a reservation way in advance. This should be stated when you make your reservation not when you arrive at the hotel. We had to scramble last minute and restaurants were either booked up or if we were lucky to get the spot, the reservations were super early or super late. The staff at the resort are ok but most of them look like they hate their jobs. We will not be staying at this resort in the future.

When we arrived no one speaks good English they are not helpful the rooms look clean on the surface but don’t really look the staff pays no attention to you or detail except Juan at the pool they owe a a day because our flight was canceled not of our choice and they said so what not our problem
My husband and I went to celebrate my husbands 36th birthday. This resort is amazing. We were treated like royalty!!!! Great food, people, liquor and atmosphere. Very cute!!!!! The staff went above and beyond with everything for us!!!

Exceeded expectations
Property was ok, got there they asked us to pay for a room upgrade $10 pp, on Expedia it stated free room upgrade when available which it obviously was available, but they charged us. Spirits in room every day per Expedia, did not get. The app. we were told to utilize to make dinner reservations, activities etc. Did not work, It seemed to have worked after checking in for a bit but not long. We tried making our dinner reservations all restaurants were completely booked for 5 people! we did get into Mikado restaurant was great only thing is they put the entree on seaweed paper? and it tasted like seafood, didn't like my rice and chicken tasting like seafood, but the staff was great at Mikado and took care of us. Asked the shuttle guy to take us somewhere and he said for a price I would which was annoying. We utilized other carts that took us, and we were happy to tip. They do a great birthday surprise for the rooms which was great. Back to the dinner reservations, we had one for M.E.A.T they said was totally booked party was there from 7-9pm and they tables were empty so if this restaurant was like this and the others were the same that is a shame wanted to try them and not have the buffet the whole time. Hardly any entertainment and didn't even know when or what was going on because they didn't give us anything to read like all other resorts we have utilized. By time we found the board with the activities we either missed or were not interested in

We counted 14 cats in the main buffet area. Jumping on tables, stealing food, spraying on everything; even Mating in front of everyone. Super weird and unsanitary.

I recently stayed at the Aquamarine Hotel (Adults Only) and had a mixed experience. The pool and beach areas were absolutely lovely and provided a relaxing atmosphere. The staff was warm, welcoming, and consistently friendly, which made the stay more pleasant. However, the accommodations left much to be desired. The rooms felt outdated, with old and poorly maintained showers and sinks. The green countertops around the sinks had noticeable water stains, and overall cleanliness did not meet expectations. It’s clear the rooms are in need of significant updates to align with the quality of the rest of the property. While I enjoyed the amenities and the hospitality, improvements to the rooms would greatly enhance the overall experience.
It is an adults only resort. If you are vegetarian there are limited options. The pool is very clean. The water were cold though . The beach was clean but at this time of the year, very wavy. Don’t use the guys at the beach to book trips. They are not reliable and the trips are not good

We had to book our own transportation to and from the resort, I would have preferred to have transportation included. When we asked to have our bags picked up at 4 am for our early flight, no one arrived - we went to the front desk two days before to request this. We ended up having to walk with our luggage to the front desk ant 4:00 am, we weren’t happy about this. Our buffet server Ray was amazing, he made our trip memorable. The beach is wonderful, however we were told we could only reserve chairs in the specific aquamarine side.. yet guests from Ambar were in the chairs for us. We saw available chairs in the Ambar section of the beach.. yet we could not use. Overall the resort is nice, but we’ll stay somewhere else next time.
Do NOT book the airport transfer service through Bahia. It was terrible, had to wait at the airport for over 30 minutes to get picked up. And the ride to the airport did not show up. We were supposed to be picked up at 5pm and they showed up at noon. Then refused to come back, so we had to take a taxi. Terrible service. The staff at the desk could not help or do anything about it. Very disappointed about this service. However the property and rest of the trip were wonderful

Unfortunately, there was a problem with the ac in our room, while I understand maintenance issues can happen, we were very disappointed with how the situation was handled. The repairs were conducted directly in our room, all over our personal belongings which left them dirty after they ripped ceilings out over them. This was extremely unprofessional. It’s not only disrupted our stay, but also left me concerned about the handling of our personal items.
Rundown, old and tired. It has seen better days. Food was horrible no matter where we ate. Mixed drinks tasted virgin. No after hour parties? No transportation to the beach? Difficult to communicate at times due to language barriers. I’m all set with this place. Pass.
I didn’t receive any upgrades and the facility, food, entertainment ( bars/bartenders poor staff). From the beginning I had addressed my concerns and I was ignored. I have requested refunds as this indeed the worst resort.
Lamentablemente hubo situaciones inesperadas el tv control se solicitó cambiar dos veces aun asi inefectivos, la programación de TV no esta con canales de alta sintonía cnn mlb fox hbo showtime canales locales etc, la puerta principal estaba desbalanceada no habría y cerraba al 2ndo dia la arreglaron, la cafetera no prendía, el piso dela habitación requería trapiche lleno de polvo arena, recibí un golpe en la cara durante el corte de jardín le informe a un supervisor no lo apunto después se lo dije al Sr. Miguel supervisor de la barra quien hizo el reporte. The entire trip the customer service was horrible, I couldn't get water with my meals until I was finished eating, or not at all. The employee would say, ok or I'll be back and didn't return at all, while b being rude. This was a horrible vacation.
Loved our 4 nights stay at aquamarine, it was great time. There was a luxury xmax buffet dinner, staff was great and helpful. The room was big but was not properly maintained with broken electric switches and quite old. Could have done better than this. Overall great time we had. Thanks

I like the fact that all the resorts are close together, they are very nice spaces with lots of greenery, they have very nice food, especially in their buffet, everyone is friendly and helpful, the only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't charge my cell phone because their sockets weren't working. Otherwise, I love my time here.
I didn’t feel like it was that clean . I hated our room very dated and grimy long hallways like a prison but I hated the food it was absolutely terrible I hardly ate all week and not one drop of alcohol it was all disgusting. Weather was lovely though also very hard to communicate their English is not good .

The property is stunning, beautiful. We did not like the food even at the speciality restaurants did not feel like we ever had a good meal. The drinks are not good liquor. And I guess this is no one‘s fault but no one speaks English so the language barrier was hard for us.
Overall I liked this hotel as my first all inclusive in DR; the staff was very friendly & extremely accommodating. The entertainment crew was great during the pool hours & at night; however it definitely depends on the crowd you have as this is not a party resort. I was disappointed to see that the pools & jaccuzi (lukewarm) close so early at 6pm. Also seeing majority older people.. it being adults only I would think id find a younger party crowd but nah. The food was decent but they have a serious roach problem. Like 4/7 restaurants we went to we saw a roach in. Super disappointing & disgusting
The level of service was not up to the hype. Staff had very little English and it became an issue. The food was bland and overcooked. Resort is very large and spread out.
Everything was great except the customer service. Bad customer service brought my rating down. Cant get anyone to help you, phones don’t work and if you didn’t know that you had to use app for ala carts, there was no exception. Not everyone is app savvy

Staff was very friendly - we traveled with 6 people ages 19-55. There was always something to do - grounds were very clean and staff was friendly and willing to help. Pool was beautiful.
The amenities and the activities on site were great. We found the restaurant reservation system a gimmick. We would try to book reservations on the app or desk staff to be told full or available 5:30 or 10pm. We went to the restaurants they were all empty. We changed every reservation by walking in and asking for availability. For an all inclusive where everything gratuities included. we found the staff unfriendly and sometimes rude unless you had USD visible. Some bar staff and restaurant staff were the exception. We booked an excursion through the Bahia app to avoid any problems and when we tried to change the reservation the Bahia said we have to call the company they were not responsible. Tour desk on site said we should have booked with them. Bottom line do not pre book anything except your rooms online. Buffet was excellent and food changed daily. There were some staples that remained the same.
Did not honor VIP/gold perks. Refused to provide the resort credit as listed on expedia. When we got there in the middle of the night due to delayed flights they tried to give us a room that was already occupied by people who were sleeping. Definitely lock your chain before going to sleep. Food was good but could not go to other sister resorts for drinks or food only at supper. Far walk from the beach but beach was nice. Got food poisoning from this resort as well. I suspect there were bed bugs in our room. The waitress and cleaners were very nice and friendly. I will never stay at this place again.

Great all inclusive experience
This is our 3rd time staying at the Aquamarine and we will, of course, come back! The Service and staff are impeccable. The food at the buffet is great, I can find options with my dietary restrictions. There is always entertainment or something to do, or nothing at all - depending on your mood. The lobby staff are incredibly helpful. The staff remembered us every time and it feels like coming home

I loved how clean the property was and how efficient the workers are. Loved the acces the other areas. But unfortunately was treared rudly by ambar employee. Aquamarine staff was top notch.

Property is older and a little outdated. Arriving in the room..the shower had hair in it from previous guess and the outlets were unsafe. Unplugging the hair dryer, the plug fell onto the counter top. The restaurant were good. The staff was great! The buffet food was just okay but did offer a variety. The alcoholic beverages were very watered down and unlike most resorts in the area, this resort only offered top shelf by the bottles for purchase. Additionally the in room mini bar only offered water and soda no alcoholic beverages at all like other resorts across Punta Cuna.
Older hotel but very clean just need a few upgrades but your not really going to be in the room much anyway really the room jut needs USB ports and minor fixes the different restaurants were hit and miss the buffet was always on point food and service tho
Staff, service were good.Food excellent. Infrastructure however requires review. Superficially clean, painted etc, but shower unit was not fully functional, and minor flooding of room after torrential rain. Leak apparently through ceiling.
We were staying at another resort (Live Aqua) which we weren’t thrilled with, so we decided to move to another property for a few days and decided on this one - best decision! Amazing vibe, entertainment, staff and the overall experience! We had a lot of dining options, but the buffet was close to our room and they had a wide selection, so it didn’t disappont! They do have the trolleys that come by every 5 mins to take you too and from the beach, which in itself is probably about a 10 minute walk depending where you are on the property. We stayed in 1 of the 3 adult only sections and loved it. Some of the rooms are dated, but still a decent size and kept clean! Would definitely come back again!

This property was nice, but could use some improvements! Cleaner rooms, replace rusted mirrors and treat stained counter tops. The beds were a bit firm with extra soft pillows and no full duvet/cover for those that prefer to be covered all night. Mosquito repellent is a must, even for your room! The mini bar was just what's stated- water, soda, beer (one of each). The patio area was good. The main areas were more maintained than our room. We received an upgrade upon check-in, however it was dusty and we could tell had not been maintained in at least a week due to dusty lamps, phone, table tops, and dead insects in places around the tub area. Bring your own toiletries if you require 'Must haves!' Overall, everyone is very friendly, the food is delicious ALL OF THE FOOD! The taxi service is a good way to visit the full property.

Very large hotel. Needs to always get a ride. But it’s great due to you able to have access to the other hotels. Buffet was great.

I will not be returning to Bahia Principe mostly because most of the staff weren't friendly and didn't understand English, the bars did not serve bourbon, the wifi was lousy at most locations, my check-in process was glitched and I could not make restaurant reservations in advance. More details below. Many of the employees were pleasant but most were not. They did not seem happy and most were annoyed when asked simple questions. Most employees did not understood English which meant a ridiculous round of charades every time I tried to communicate. I could not get any bourbon at all. I'm not talking any premium bourbon, I'm talking any bourbon although it was displayed prominently at EVERY bar but not available to Aquamarine guests. I tried to purchase a drink and was told I had to buy the entire bottle. I expect there would be a bourbon available to me. The lack of available wifi in many areas of the resort was unacceptable. I was not able to reliably communicate with my friends and family at the resort when I needed to coordinate nor with my family back home. This was a very big problem for me. I could not check in through the website or app until 3 days before my trip. My friends could not add me to their dinner reservations. By the time I could check in there were no more slots to coincide with theirs. The "tech support" was only reachable by email. By the time they responded it was pretty much the day before my trip. I will not be returning.
