The hotel was well maintained and staff were mostly all really friendly and professional. The atmosphere was great and we never felt like the hotel was jammed. The food was amazing and the pop-up stands for lunch was great. Even the buffet for breakfast and lunch was great. But some guests were there to party and they kept me and my two kids up a few nights. Maybe ensuring that adults are not in a room next to someone with kids could be helpful. The expeditions offered at the hotel are way too expensive. Expediation offered them and they were affordable. The guy offering Kayak time is not telling you at first that you need to pay and then he refused our money in front of everyone. If you choose this hotel, plan for a shuttle to and from the airport. It is not provided in the package nor mentioned.
We had a wonderful time at the Palmar Beach resort, formally named the Azul Beach Resort. The food was the best part, with 5 or 6 dining options. We had some amazing meals and amazing service. The name a few people that helped us at the restaurants and around the hotel: Javier, Mateo from the main dinning room, can't remember the name. Jesus, Angel from Al Forno the pizza and service was amazing and enjoyed eating and talking with them everyday! Mannanuel, Cruz and a taller guy helped us and 2 different locations for dinner and were absolutely amazing team. Really grateful for them all. We spilt drinks each night, had to reorder do to kids not likely they food choices and we got no issues or push back, just quick happy service. Thank you guys!! Around the hotel we had Emir and Bettyna help us most and really made us feel taken care of. The house keeping was good. No complaint on their work, our only issue was they didn't come at the same time each day, so we never knew when to expect. The service staff spoke very little english which made it hard to communicate any requests, like more towels or water. Lastly we needed an extra bed for our room and had to ask 10 times over 8 hours (through the main desk, operator on the room, bell boy, and a housekeeper). at 9 pm I went up to the front desk crying I was so tired before we finally got our 5th bed for 5 people. So that sucked. But it was all uphill from that moment. Great time overall. Safe, quiet, clean and fun!
Was really nice. Everything was clean food was good. We had no problem waking up and getting chairs right by the pool. Place was pretty empty but nice and quiet . Just was hoping for some adult intertainnment (bands/music for the evening.
Many dining options, and many pools and activities to do.
The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food quality is very good.
We especially loved the waiters in the Spanish restaurant Cruz, Santiago, Angel made us feel spoiled! The pool bars were wonderful and the rooms were big!
Food in buffet was great. If your were not at an a la carte first wave between 5:30-6:00 you are waiting an hour and half plus to get a table. Also they have a restaurant at the beachside of the resort which serves fresh pizza, it is the best part. Rooms were always cleaned This place is Definitely meant for families. No partying going on
Small No hot water Service was very good
All the staff was great, very attentive and respectful, and always greeted with a smile. Dealing with no hot water for the first half of our trip was frustrating especially coming from the airport and wanting to have a nice warm bath. We traveled with a one year old and she also had to shower with very cold water which she cried about. Other than that, everything else was great.
This property recently changed ownership so they are still getting it up and running. We had the option of 2 restaurants each night to choose from. The food was excellent, and some of the best food I've had in Mexico. My biggest complaint is the lack of hot water. 10 of us went on this trip together (3 families), and none of the rooms that any of us occupied had hot water. This meant only cold showers for our whole vacation. In addition, the pool water was actually very cold as well (probably more related to the time of year we visited; most days were in the low to mid 80's. The room was nicely equipped with a large jacuzzi tub near the balcony, but again, it only had cold water so was essentially unusable. The facility itself was quite quiet and there were few other guests which we actually really enjoyed. It meant poolside service was pretty fast and no wait times to get into any restaurants. Waiting time for food in restaurants was pretty variable. The seafood restaurant had excellent food but expect to spend about 3 hours going out for dinner. We had waits of sometimes 90 minutes to receive or dinner items. However, when the food did arrive, it was always excellent. The service at the other restaurants was faster than the seafood restaurant but still on the slower side. All in all, despite no hot water in any of the rooms, we did enjoy our vacation. I think once they finish renovations and complete the closed coffee shop/restaurants this will be a great resort.
No había buffet. Solo había un solo restaurant y el menú desayuno y almuerzo era el mismo todos los días. Solo un día hubo show. En la semana no hubo ninguna recreación ni de día ni de noche. Ni música. Total aburrimiento. Me siento estafada. Mis peores vacaciones. Solo puedo decir que los trabajadores que nos atendieron en el restaurant nos trataron super bien. Hicieron todo su esfuerzo porque el cumpleaños de mi esposo fuera agradable. Espero una compensación para mí
The restaurants are not open regularly, the Mexican food is the worst I've had, and there are strong sewage smells outside the buffet and at other locations. The pool outside of my room was often filthy, and we did not go in. I booked and paid for 10 rooms, but I personally received a room that reeked of paint and chemicals and never had hot water. While we had a good time, it was despite rather than becuase of the resort.
Excellent service, food and very clean!! Will return!
I believe the new management - Taffer
Property was lovely will visit again.
It was nice. Right by the ocean. Room was great. Several restaurants within resort. The only downside is getting to the resort since some of the roads are flooded near it. However, vehicles still drive through.
My reservation was cancelled at this property and was moved to a different location. I was not notified until we showed up to the front door.
The Hotel was nice room was really nice but needs better food very plain American food portions are small and they are not good they lack flavor and consistency the food just felt cheap and flavorless. Also a recommendation rent a car it is cheaper airport taxi are thieves charging almost $100 a run even though the hotel wasn’t far renting a car is $20 compared to $100 every time you go anywhere.
The resort has been purchased by Palmer group and there was no notification that the property will be closed. I was travelling with an infant (7months) and a toddler (2years) and I was asked to go back 1 hour drive in a different property where the staff treated me like they are doing a favour on me. I went there for my 35th birthday and they ruined everything!!!
Azul was closed so they rebooked us in Margaritaville.
Molesta
No me pareció a me cambiaran de hotel y no me informaran muy mala experiencia y solo así sin decir o avisar de ta situación
Went to check in and was told I had to switch resorts because they were closing down!
I'm going to start by saying we did not feel special at all. We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary and they moved us to Margaritaville as soon as we arrived. Strike 1 next the night of our anniversary they were booked before the day of and we were the first people to the lobby to make those dinner reservations. I also told the receptionist we need dinner reservations for that night. She assured me they would accommodate us. They did not. There was not open availability anywhere that night. We had to order room service which defeated the whole purpose of the trip. I never felt so unappreciated.
The resort was OK there was a lot of construction being done not a lot of restaurants were open. The beach cabanas were not in use, but the service made up for what was missing.
We had a good stay. Since it was the off season, there were not a lot of people - which I liked. It was quiet and the staff was attentive to our needs. There was some construction going on, but it was minimally intrusive on our stay and activities. Only certain restaurants were open each day as opposed to all of them, but there were still ample food choices. The food, for the most part, was good even if the portions were small. It was easily remedied by ordering two meals or eating at two different places. The room was clean and fixed up everyday with the option of clean linen if you wanted it. Overall, the stay was great and the facility met our vacation expectations.
I loved it the food was amazing
NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!! OVERAL RATING ,, -10 ,, OR I CAN PUT ,, -10⭐️
The resort was in the process of being sold and only two restaurants were open. The breakfast and lunch buffet closed half way through our trip and they ran out of food on multiple occasions. Not the trip I paid for or was expecting. They had no beach/pool restaurant and the did they did have was very limited
Let me tell you about my experience with this hotel. We had booked a premium suite up room with this resort, which comes with a jacuzzi and swim up pool. When we arrived at the hotel, we were given a whole different room, with no swim up. The lady at the front desk said that the room we booked was “unavailable” and I said that I wanted to receive what I initially paid for. Then, she ended up giving us the original room that we paid for. After this inconvenience, we had noticed the hot tub outside our resort to be broken. We asked the front desk as to why, and they said that the hot tubs were broken in the whole building. We decided to leave it alone as we were exhausted from our trip. We realized that the resort had a lot of construction going on, and then figured out that 3/5 restaurants on the property were closed, as well as the swim up bars. The hotel pretty much looked abandoned. If we had known the resort had been facing this major construction, we would not have came here. Then, a day after moving in and unpacking, the front desk called us and told us that we are going to be moved out of our room because “the building was closing”. We decided just to book a different hotel at this point due to frustration. All we got back was a refund for one unused night; which I think is unfair due to all the inconveniences we faced that made our trip stressful.
We had the worst experience of our lives at this hotel. The property was in the process of being sold to a new owner, who was taking over after our stay. The hotel was under construction, making it extremely unsafe. A picture even fell off the wall due to the construction, nearly hitting my 1-year-old son. The only building open for guests was ours, and construction noise was constant throughout the day. They cut off all phone lines to concierge and room service, so we couldn’t access the 24/7 room service or get any help at all. When I requested milk for my son, it took 16 hours and multiple visits to the front desk before it was delivered. Elevators were broken, so we had to walk up and down several flights of stairs with our twin 1-year-olds to reach room service. The food was good, but there were only two options our entire stay, and due to limited staff, these options didn’t change. It was the worst experience of our lives, and we’re not exaggerating – we travel frequently, but this was truly unbelievable.
Mala experiencia
Los restaurantes estaban cerrados, los cuartos sucios, bares cerrados, la playa está llena de basura, en general fue una mala experiencia yo no regreso al hotel
Fake resort does not exist
I went for a 1 week vacation with my partner and it was amazing! We enjoyed the food, the rooms are beautiful and masive, all the staff are amazing too! Everyone was so friendly and to be honest the staff really made the experience amazing! It felt like a home away from home.
Buen lugar para solo descansar. Falta personal que te sirvan bebidas, muchas de las areas estaban en remodelacion. Poco ambiente, demasiado aburrido y monotono. Poca variedad en sus alimentos
- The hotel is currently being remodeled, and multiple areas are closed. - We had five reservations, but they tried to send one member of my family to a different hotel. - The pool bars are closed, and there are no waitstaff available at the pool. You will need to go to the restaurants to get a drink. - The service is extremely poor, especially from the hosts at the restaurants. They are rude and unwilling to help. This is the first time I've experienced such poor service in Mexico. The food is good, but the waiting times can be very long. - No shuttle to/from the airport. - If you're traveling to Cancun to enjoy drinks at the pool, expect good service, and relax, consider going elsewhere. The hotel is inexpensive for a reason. - Overall, it was a really bad experience, and I won't be coming back.
This property is under sever construction with MOST restaurants closed. Karisma is sending their guests (some) to another local property they own since the new owners of Azul have begun construction the place is a ghost town. Wish they’d have offered to us. Don’t GO! Half of the restaurants are closed, beach gross, food not worth it. Wouldn’t allow us to be change a prior reservation by two days. Said it would keep our payment and recharge us, while also indicating they no longer had a swim up room available. So to avoid loosing all of our paid fee, we just paid to add two more days to the end of the trip. When we arrived, they gave us a double bed instead of the king we requested. Our honeymoon and my partner is 6 ft 5in; what were we to do w a double bed?! When we asked to have a different room we were told that there may not be one bailable for another day, not because someone was in it, but because they needed time to clean it (it was 2pm when we arrived). We stayed in the adult side of the hotel in a swim up room. The jets to the hot tub outside and inside our room didn’t work (neither did the others). All adult only restaurants were closed as the property was under renovation. They should have told us most of what we were paying for wouldn’t be available. Hotel is likely a very nice place during another season. They have lots of amenities, but we didn’t have access to them. Such a bummer. When calling reception desk, had to wait very long. One staff person!

The murky pools for the swim up rooms were concealed under a thick film of bright yellow algae. The main pools were missing tiles and the surrounding walkways were mushy and disintegrating. A very limited and simple buffet was the only option for breakfast and lunch. Then for dinner, only 2 of the 6 were open at one time on a rotating basis. The food was good (not great) Meals were spent under leaking roofs dripping into buckets and onto tables, black mold, and broken plaster. The beach, while represented online as a clean area with lounge chairs and cabanas to relax on, was a disgrace in person. Kelp everywhere. Which yes, it’s a beach so ok, but there was never any attempt to clean it up. The beach was littered with garbage and hotel/sea debris (old blue tiled shower stalls, chunks of concrete, trunks of trees, plastic, etc). The majority of the cabanas were falling apart, some roped off, completely unusable. Only a few lounge chairs present on the beach. One of the cement & tile stairways to the beach has disintegrated and just drops off to the beach with exposed sharp edges. Off this stairway on the beach is what appears to have once been a cement platform of some kind which now sits falling apart with exposed rebar. Huge safety hazard. Overall to say we are extremely disappointed with our experience would be an understatement. Beware and dig deep through all the fake five star reviews online when looking at this establishment.
The property was under construction. This was not noted when we booked. Not all the restaurants were open. Our favorite- The Spoon, a buffet style restaurant closed the day after we arrived. There were very few if any organized activities. The staff was overall friendly and attentive.
No hot water all weekend we was there for 4 days.. No night entertainment and the food was decent at best
The food is bland, I paid for the room (1109) with the swim up room and outside jacuzzi, it doesn’t work. The outside showers don’t work, I tried to use 2 of them. The drinks are watered down. Limited transportation to the resort, due to the location of the resort. There are no close shopping plazas or tourists outside the resort. There are no nearby excursions, the swim up bar hours are very unclear, and close very early (5:30 pm) and poor communication with management.
Horrible experience. Only there 3 nights. Resort itself was beautiful some areas need upgrades. Room had so many issues. We requested bday banner on door and didnt come for 2 days.Noisy ac all night and day. Tv was not working.Refrigerator broken had to be replaced, My refrigerated injections went bad. Jacuzzi had nasty dark brown water.waited 3 hours for maintenance just to tell us to keep running water till its clear. They had to come back next day to fix, and even then there was brown particles floating in the water. Management never available to speak with before or after our daily excursions only there 9 to 5. Very inconvenient. Food had poor variety. Staff was nice and friendly. Pools were nice. Beach was horrible full of seaweed couldnt even enjoy. Was told we would get a refund but its been almost 2 weeks keep getting the run around. Very disappointed
Although the room we stayed in, was very nice, and the property had multiple beautiful pools, the food was not very good at all. Dining at the resort was just not an option due to the lack of flavor and options at the dining places. There’s only like 5 restaurants, and most of the time it said they were open and they were not. It was mostly just the buffet that was open and that was where the food was the worst. Also, there’s not many activities to do at the resort so if you are looking to book for reasons other than to relax, this wouldn’t be the resort for you.
Excellent service beautiful resort. Clean and beautiful room. We had a connecting room. AC is great. Expect to wait around 30 mins for restaurants. Food are great. Need reservations for Tapas and exclusive for Le Chige. No activity even its showing on the Azul app. Kids playground and tennis is closed. Pizza place is in Renovation. Spoon buffet is great. Everyday has different themes for food. Seina Italian restaurant food is high end. We loved it there so much and services. Pools are Clean and not crowded. This resort is more like relaxing type than music clubbing dancing DJ parties. Quiet at night. No music anywhere except Mojio lounge. The road goes to resort sucks. Potholes and flooding everywhere. Cannot walk outside but very safe resort . Reception takes long time. Only one tour agency. Over all we loved it there and if you like chilling vibes you will be too. If you like white clear sand beach, this is resort is not for you. great food and services
it could’ve been better
This property is unorganized and embarrassing to go too
I spent about $30,000 bringing my work staff and some clients to the resort and was really disappointed to be placed in the worst room that our group received. I had no hot water, a floor that was constantly full of condensation and caused me to slip and fall twice, and a ceiling light that never went completely out. After a few days of trying to shower in the freezing cold, I finally gave in and asked for a different room, only to be switched to another room with no hot water. This one also reeked of paint and chemicals because of work that was being done on the upper level of the building. It was dire and very uncomfortable. The only hot shower I had was in my friend's room. Most of the restaurants weren't open which was quite frustrating, we ended up at the buffet most of the time. The food was absolutely not gourmet! It was dire, I struggled to find things to eat. There were two highlights of this day, that being the experience at the Michelin starred restaurant, which we all enjoyed thoroughly and the staff. The people working at this resort are incredibly good, kind, personable, and really set the tone for your time at Azul. They get five stars for an incredible team that keeps the place clean, comfortable, and very friendly. Overall, I feel like I spent $30,000 to get a very underwhelming experience for myself but my clients and staff were happy.
Excellent
Had an amazing time, definitely would stay again
Don’t go to the resort on the off season. Some activities and restaurants are not open every day. Nothing to do except swim.
Very nice pools, good cocktails, our second room was very nice. Mostly good service. Buffet was limited with almost no variation. Only one a la carte open per day and some days it was overloaded with long waits (up to 60 minutes) and slow service. Most food lacked flavor both at buffet and a la Cartes. Beach was dirty and stinky…seaweed was not removed. A lot of the resort was beat up and in some cases broken. They did stupid economies…for example they ran out of cheese at the omelette station and didn’t get more for 2 days. No salsa available at buffet.
I was very disappointed in Azul Beach Resort. When we arrived and after checking in, we were told only one restaurant would be open. We just assumed it was because of Hurricane Helen. But that wasn't the case. Out of eight restaurants, only one was opened at any given time, not including the one opened just to serve water-down or drinks with very little alcohol. With eight restaurants on site, one has to be open at any given time. Well, that wasn't the case. We called room service, and it was a nightmare and understanding due to everyone calling. The food arrived cold, and I had to call back and wait another 45 minutes, but now it was warm. One of the selling points was the jacuzzi tube, but it didn't work, so the jacuzzi tube was not used. However, I did enjoy the suit with the walkout pool. The most disappointing thing and a slap in the face were the things and events they promised as a selling point to have you select them for your vacation spot, like clubs, dancing, music, and shows that didn't exist. However, they were selling and advertising their sister resorts, Margaretville and others right next door. So, in short, there is no entertainment, just a buffet restaurant, water-down drinks, and a swim-up bar that's closed 60 percent of the time, not to mention being nickeled and dime is Azul Beach Resort's version of all-inclusive. My advice is to look somewhere else in the Hotel Zone!
Unfortunately this is not a 5 star hotel. The dining options are limited, there are only 2 restaurants out of 4 that are opened for dinner each day. There is also no entertainment, nor any music outside in the pools. The staff is great, no complaints there. This resort has so much potential but sadly they let this resort go. If you’re looking for a 5 star resort with unlimited food options, beach front and entertainment this is not it.
The property is very beautiful but there is no activities and only one restaurant open. The elevator don’t work so you have to walk up the stairs.
The place is peaceful and very safe in my opinion. Room services was perfect. My only issues were the elevators that stopped working.
It was good
The service they provide was big different than the marketing they made!!
The property by itself is good, has a lit of nice swimming pools, which is amazing, pool barsalso good, but unfortunately there is no beach zone at all, only seaweed and you cant swim there at all, only in swimming pools. For me was fine for 1 night, but for people who booked for 5 days or more will be very frustrating. Hotel stays in poor hotelier zone, far from other facilities and city which is uncomfortable as well. That was my 2nd hotel for my vacation and I made a check out around 1:45 pm, and they were charging me for that, other hotels in Cancun just offering you staying with them until you have your flight without any additional charges, which shows their proper hospitality. In general hotel is so so, but i wouldn't not come back.
Nice variety of foods! Liked that there was an adult only pool option. Our room had pool access from the patio door. Wasnt crowded or busy.
Absolutely incredible hospitality. From when I stepped onto the property until I was escorted into my ride by the sweet and sincere Angel!! Honestly if I credited them all by name I would be out of space here. Just exceptional. It was a bit too slow of season and especially because they were about to close for renovations so very very few people at the resort … but I was in the mood to just Rest and relax luckily. My Room was absolutely Deluxe and the patio divine!!!
I would rate the hotel at 3.5 stars. The staff was exceptional friendly, respectful, and attentive. However, I was disappointed that many of the restaurants and the buffet were closed during my stay. I visited during Labor Day week, and the property was relatively empty. On my last day, I struggled to find an open place to eat, which led me to rely on room service, which was free due to the closed restaurants. This resort is more suited for relaxation rather than partying, with a lot of older guests present. The highlight of my stay was definitely the room. It was spacious, featuring a balcony and an in room jacuzzi by far the best room I’ve ever stayed in. Unfortunately, the food didn’t meet my expectations. There were no tacos available when I ordered room service, so I opted for a quesadilla that was less than satisfactory compared to what I’ve had in New York. Additionally, some of the concrete around the pool area needs repair.
Very clean and well kept. Beach area was small and didn't have access to some of it. The restaurant were good but not a whole lot of selections.
I didnt like anything about it I was very bored there! I spent the worest birthday ever, not going there anymore and im not going to recommend it to no one but I will keep telling people about it so they dont go and waste their money People go vacations to have fun not to sleep
Excellent customer services
We loved how everyone was lovely and helpful. The staff here were excellent and satisfied with the experience overall. We would love to stay here for our next trip!!
I went to propose to my lady and the first day on the resort was a disaster. The room was dark due to all lights not working, the jacuzzi tub was stained with dirt or some type of rust, the resort smell like a swamp due to seaweed build up on beach, couldn’t use beach the whole stay. The door leading to the swim out wouldn’t lock you can just pull the door open from the outside. Maintenance had to come to the room twice to fix the problem. The water in the pool was murky and had a nasty film on the top. We finally were moved to a different room after talking to management. We enjoyed our stay because we were off the resort for most of our stay. Also Expedia has false pictures on site, the beach is not as nice as the picture on the site. And when I complained to Expedia they only wanted to offer me 50 point for my next booking through them. Overall the resort was not what it look like on Expedia site and I feel like I was falsely advertised to. Please update your photos and update you photos for resorts.
A
Good service, 100 recommended
Azul was amazing from the food, spa, pools, swim up bars all great, staffing was very kind and attentive if you needed something they were quick to assist you, the room was beautiful really enjoyed the jacuzzi. The property it self is amazing but you can tell it need a bit of work all in all I would definitely stay here again
This hotel had so much potential but the service is terrible. There are only one or two people doing check in and check out during peak hous, making people wait for a long time. The staff is unfriendly and never smile- they seem bothered by tourists. The safe in the room was not working- we needed to call reception to get it working but our phone didn’t work. Also the beach was smelly and disgusting. The water was pure brown and we never went into the ocean because of that. The food is not 24/7 so this is not a good choice for all inclusive hotels because the restaurants close down. There is no such thing as snack bar where kids can easily go grab a hamburger whenever they feel hungry throughout the day. Also to make appointments at a restaurant you can only do it in some kiosks and not by phone. Nobody told us that the kiosks close early so we could not book our reservation. There is a starbucks but it also closes early- overall what a let down. I will never come back here
I liked that there were multiple pools to choose from and you did not have to fight for places to sit. However, there was very little beach and the beach does not look like what the photos depict. The children's area was closed while we were there, which was one of the main reasons we booked at this resort which was also a bummer but we still had a good time and enjoyed our stay.
I like this property and service is good, but they need to Focus on Food menu
Disappointed
This hotel has potential but needs to be remodeled. Compared to other all inclusive hotels I’ve visited the quality here was bad. The buffet is small and not a lot of variety. No activities to do around the hotel. I only recommend this hotel if you want peace and quiet and don’t care too much about the food. Seemed like a very family oriented hotel. It was empty not a lot of people it definitely needed some entertainment. When I go to an all inclusive it’s so I don’t have to leave the hotel and enjoy all the activities but unfortunately it was very boring. Also the service was lacking. For the restaurants that didn’t require a reservation when we went we were told there was a waiting list with a bunch of families ahead of us yet the restaurants were empty. We went to their pizza pizza location 30 mins before they closed and said they couldn’t serve us because they had already put everything away! If it closes at 5pm I think it should be fully functioning until then. I would understand if we got there 5-10 mins before closing time but 30 mins before? It’s a snack bar it’s not like it’s a full on restaurant. The only nice thing that we were impressed with was the room it was very spacious the only bad thing was it started raining and we had a leak on the ceiling other than that the room was cleaned every day. Lastly the spa was an amazing experience definitely the only thing I was satisfied with at this hotel.
The beach was not useful .
Room service was very slow and sometimes did not show up. The restaurants showed little hospitality and had an average wait time of 45 minutes. There was a lack of respect for young adults. Bartenders were cool though. Specifically Eden the bartender at the adult pool was super friendly and easy to approach. The beach was also not maintained at all, full of seaweed and no way to swim in it.
Excellent
It lacks entertainment and music. It should have a night club or a place to dance every night. In the pool are it should be music. The only good thing is the food but after diner your force to watch a 1 hour show and a bar to drink on. That’s all no entertainment. Is like they your going in to eat and sleep early. If all you want is to relax then this is the place. Is a beautiful place it has everything you need to relax all day long.
Building 4 elevator was down the entirety of our vacation. The main lobby elevator worked every other day. The music at the swim up bars were unrecognizable. The beach is not usable because of all the seaweed. The resort is a nice resort. 3to 4 star resort. They do need some improvements but i would recommend for families that want to lay back at the pool.
Property has potential and staff did the best they could, but overall unorganized and not very personable. The pool was hard to get into without stairs or zero gravity entrance, making it unsafe. The water in the pool was not clear and looks like it needed repairs. We stayed in the pool walkout room, but it didn’t have stairs so it defeated the idea of the walkout room.
There is no uniqueness in this property or place, There is no beach access and they are doing false advertising about there property. There is no entertainment on the premises. I always book my vacation trip from Expedia so Expedia should be aware of it.
The food was really good, as was the service in the restaurants. Our AC was not working well, and the room was slightly tired, but that was not too bad. The resort itself is very pretty and the pools wonderful. The lunch pop ups in the Zocalo were reallllllllty yummy.
I did not like that there was no music 😐 at all. No overhead music, no entertainment, no band, NO MUSIC. boring
Azulitos (kids playhouse) was closed. The elevators for buildings 2 and 4 never worked. The activities list on was not accurate. You show on one place expecting an activity, but something else is already going on at another location.
nice pools, nice grounds, cant use the beach at all, pizza pizza resturant good, italian resturant good, the rest of the food and the resturants are terrible, slow, not ran correctly. there is no snack food during the day around the pools, no sweets /ice cream/churos,cookies etc... for the kids during the day, kids activities were not open. except for a couple of snobby bartenders, the staff is great.
didn't get my room, elevator doesn't work, no lifeguards by the pool, front desk not experienced
Clean. I didnt like the fact that my room was on the 4th floor and the elevator was out of order. The kids playhouse was closed the entire time we were there.
My stay was great ! Very clean and staff was always there to help . Only thing I wish the kids playroom was open . Other than that my stay was amazing
The road leading to the hotel really needs to be repaved! You have huge potholes that make the drive horrible. I think that loses attention for your hotel! Other than that we loved our stay at Azul Beach. Staff is friendly.
Very limited entertainment and dining options
I recently stayed at Azul Beach Resort Riviera Cancún and found the experience to be far from luxurious. The hotel’s pictures on Expedia are outdated, with the actual property appearing much older. The smell in the buffet area was unpleasant, compounded by ongoing construction inside. The air conditioning in my room was poor, leaking from the ceiling and causing water to pool on the floor. The reception staff were unhelpful and unfriendly, unable to fulfill simple requests like providing a robe for my child or arranging connecting rooms, forcing my family to stay on different floors. Overall, the stay was disappointing and did not meet the expected standard.
Love this place ❤️
Many things to consider if you want to be at this property. First of, we got a room in the third floor, but the elevator did not work. The service was not what we are used to in Cancun. If you want to have a beautiful beach to enjoy your vacations, forget it! The beach here is pretty bad and instead of sand you end up swimming in mud. If you have kids, the activities are almost inexistent, plus the fact that hotel staff does not know what they are and where they are. If you want to get dry with the sun after a day in the pool, this is the property. There were no towels, we went to get some in the morning and only two of the six days we could get them, in the afternoon there were none, so we could not change it. At the teens club the ac was not working. Pretty bad property Food was good though.
They advertise as they have beach but don’t have beach they have fake pictures just to make book and they will never give you your money back even if you didn’t check in
The staff were nice and front desk staff as well. Propertyis awesome
Below average
I stayed here from 7-11 July 2024. As a person in the military I can sleep just about anywhere and I’m not picky so take this for what it’s worth. For starters I paid 6k to take my family and no transportation from airport I had to pay 120usd to get to the resort once I was at the resort 3 people in front of me had room issues . I got up there to check in I was issued the wrong room and told this is all we have despite what I paid for and I needed to pay more to upgrade . I felt scammed the entire time I was there having to pay out of pocket for every little thing and all the staff was in on it. I never seen my conceirage after I told him I was not interested in a lot of extra things that cost me and one he found out he couldn’t scam me I didn’t see him. I could not get reservations to anything from them on the service is here is god awful. The biggest thing was there is 7 restaurant on the property, and only one was open at any given time, and that was the Buffet. The foood at this buffet was very nasty and under cooked and asking around all the guest felt the same they were just eating to put something in their stomach, considering the amount of money for a all-inclusive resort you would think more restaurants would be open, and when a restaurant did open, it was the same exact food from the Buffet . No snack or ice cream bar my kids did not like anything there . The swim up bars all closed at 5pm there was no activities during the day no music or anything . Do not go here
Aesthetically the property looked nice and clean. Room service takes about 2 hours for food even though we were told it should be 1 hour or less. During Hurricane Beryl, no updates were provided on what was happening on the resort, where we could get more information, if roads were closed or where we could get food and water. There was no phone number or contact details on where or who we could reach out to if there were emergencies. Being confined in our rooms for a day, we were provided with 1 sandwich, a bag of chips, a piece of fruit and a bottle water to sustain is for dinner, breakfast and lunch per person. Due to the road being closed - we were forced to extend our stay and were not provided with a preferred rate for an extra night even though most amenities were closed, restaurants were closed and very limited selection of things to do and eat. We were forced to pay full price. For the amount we paid all together, there are much better resorts around the area with better service levels.
DO NOT STAY HERE. Our entire experience was horrid. The property is in complete disrepair. Roaches in our room. Smells of mold. The staff is rude. The food is terrible.

The food was average as far as variations which would be okay for a short stay, but it became monotonous after a few dinners and lunches. The rooms and property were VERY clean. The beach is not great. Lots of seaweed, rocky and murky. Beach beds are nice, it just not a swimable beach and there is no where to walk along the beach as it is blocked off about a 1/2 mile down with walls and no sand. Every staff member was amazing and got us anything we needed. Great for a short stay as long as you don't want to get in the ocean water from the beach.
