Handy yo airport

Price, convenience!

Gateway was very handy to the airport our room was very quiet and clean, the yellow bus was extremely handy and helpful would recommend a stay here

Everything was good

Being able to get the shuttle straight from the airport is great. Convenient and user friendly

Needs some attention.

This property has potential but is very old and dated and was dirty and the food from restaurant was sub what I can and do cook at home.

The room was dirty, cracked sliding door and window. Blood stain towel, used wooden fork at the side of the cupboard and no lock for the main door.

Heard rodents in the ceiling at night and the room door was so tight you could barely close it and lock it. The mixet valve in the shower was so bad you would either get boiling hot water or ice cold water with less than 1 degrees of rotation of the valve.

Older building, dated rooms

It's a older property. We stayed 2 weeks apart for 1 night each. We stayed in 2 different rooms that were fairly equal. The coffee/tea service was incomplete in each room. There were visible signs of missed cleaning; crumbs or trash around the seat cushion in upholstered chairs. I didnt mind the wear and tear but some spot cleaning would greatly improve appearances. I'm a building and facility manager so i maybe more concious of maintenence and cleaning. For the price its a place to sleep. Nice not great.

Overall I would give this properly a 7 to 7.3 out if 10. It's a bit better than a 3/5. The bed was okay but it seemed to have a divider in the middle of it. Also the sliding door didn't work properly. Most of the staff were helpful and friendly although the person at the end was a bit in a grouchy mood.But the rest were good. F.

It’s is affordable, bed is comfortable, and so are the pillows. The hotel definitely needs maintenance. The carpets in the hall way are a problem when you’re trying to roll your suitcase to the room. Water pressure is low when having a shower.

Property needs revival- photos on web are pre covid lockdown and facilities are not there anymore

Good, but….

Nice big room, comfortable beds, nice bathroom. Only problem is the TV…. only gets 3 channels, 2 of them music videos and 1 scenery shots! This despite the website advertising Sky tv.

Property is really tired - peeling wallpaper, mould on the ceilings, doors ripped off the fridge cabinet and the broken hinges left. We got in at 11pm so just sucked it up. Sheets were clean and the gentleman at reception was lovely.

Best Customer Service from Front Office Filipino Lady Aileen, Housekeeping Fijian Indian Lady Sharon & Indian Man Kuldeep. These 3 Staff Members are the reason why we will come back with my 3 Family Members to the Hotel again! We are were in Auckland for 4 days & each day our 2 Rooms were serviced. My Brother & Mum had Room 123 (1 single & 1 King) their room was perfect. My Sister & I 1st had Room 135 on 1st day. We already found bathroom door was broken off the hinge, both lamps on side of beds & large stains on them & extra doona in cupboard had a large stain on it as well. We reported this to Reception & tock photos. 2nd day we couldn't get into the room & the Reception Team broke open the door & gave us keys to another Room 139. They apologized & we absolutely loved our new room! The convenient location of just minutes away from the International Airport in Mangere close to all our Families & had it's 24 Hour Reception at affordable prices, thats all you need. I paid $875 for 2 Rooms for 4 days for 4 People. We will see you again next time we are in Auckland, NZ!

Good value, friendly staff, very clean.

Gateway was the perfect stopover for our early flight. The staff were very welcoming and we were given excellent instructions fir catching the courtesy bus to the airport. We dined in the restaurant, the food was amazing very generous portions. However, the shower was a disappointment due to extremely low pressure.

Quite adequate and value for money. Convenience for airport commuting Will stay again and it’s as good as some other motels but older.

The room was spacious and very very clean.

The room and location were fine, as was the food at the restaurant considering its all a bit dated looking. The only hiccup i had was that the pillows had a bit of mould on them and they replaced and amended the situation fast. Would stay again still.

I like the fact that u have a free bus ride to the Hotel and back to Auckland airport. The stuff was also very helpful

Perfect for what was needed. Would recommend it 100%. Comfortable bed, great water pressure in the shower, attentive staff, and great breakfast. Close to the airport and easy access via the yellow bus.

It was a tidy, handy place to stay that delivers what it promises.

One of the worst stay out of 30 days traveling in NZ

Timezone error booked flight and accommodation via Expedia and you would think they would see I’m Flying during these dates. Called as soon as I got to Sydney and they refused to offer me another room. Wanted me to re purchase which is my fair Expedia.

Was clean . Did t like the bed sheets. Too hot. Also noisy .

The place is good and very convenient. The reception operates 24hrs which is a merit to those who travel night, they can also be served. The booking fees are fairly reasonable.

The property was very affordable and included the Yellow Bus Transfer from the airport as part of the price. I only stayed here for less than 8 hours, so it was a great place to get some sleep before my domestic flight. I arrived at 1:30am and checkout at 6:30am. Bed was comfortable, pillows were good, towels need replacing. Should have takeaway coffee cups in the room as an option.

Very accommodating staff!!! Room is decent and clean 😊 and very convenient with free shuttle to and from airport. We had buffet breakfast and left our extra bags in luggage room. They also arranged a taxi for me to city centre free of charge. Highly recommended!

Easy to get to and from airport

I have been here before and it was good. Easy to find on the maps, easy and simple process to booking and speaking with staff. Staff was every professional making sure I understood all details about my stay. I suggest that the bathroom floor towels should be atleast two. As the water comes out even with the door closed. There was a big puddle getting out. Also the choices to the TV. Nothing was good to watch. The TV in room 123, needs to be fixed as it was half black and coloured. But other than that. I would come again.

Presentation nice and clean. What I didn’t like was walking a football field to my room, sorry it is what it is.

Perfect stay for the airport.

We arrived late so we needed somewhere comfortable near the airport. This was perfect with the shuttle. Clean comfortable and helpful friendly staff.

The property is dated but adequate I stopped their in 1996 when the area was covered in farm land cows Little training in the restaurant wouldn't come amiss but on the whole they were doing a job Reception checking staff were excellent

Was noisy i could hear the next room. My ranch slider did not lock just had a chain didnt feel overly secure. Chair in room covered in stains looked dirty. Overall i was underwhelmed.

great price room and bed comfortable service in restaurant not good. food was below average. chips were cold burger was warm when bought to the table soup was out of a can i think not like home made butter chicken was good took almost 1.5 hrs from when i walked in to when i walked out wasn’t that busy had to ask for the table to be wiped down before i could sit there only half wiped language barrier with staff

It is close to the airport and makes if a good place to stay for a night.

It was a nice stay, abit outdated, the tv had a weird split discoloration half the screen was purple and the other was normal. Its close to airport and not alot of shops to choose from nearby. Cost a fortune for a cab from airport to motel even tho its a short distance we paid $60 for a van cab.

The only good thing about this hotel is that it is not far from the airport and offers a free shuttle. Price is a bit cheaper than others in the same area. Rooms are not clean, I had to request to change linen in my room. Lined were delivered to my room but I had to change beds myself because service person just left without saying anything. Many things in the room were broken. Do not eat food in their restaurant!!! When it was served to us for dinner it was cold and stale. Table cloth and glasses were dirty. When waiter inquired about the food I told him it was horrible, he asked me if I wanted a desert. Obviously no one cares about customers experience there. I will never stay at this place again.

The lady on the reception desk was disinterested and rude. Happily the young man on the reception desk was pleasant and helpful. The tub is not safe to get in an out as the screen made it difficult to enter and there were no hand rails to support you getting in and out. You also had to be in the shower/tub to turn it on. The hotel appears to be needing serious renovation as the walls were chipped and the flooring looked dirty. The bed was comfortable and it was convenient to the airport for an overnight stay.

Staff were friendly upon checkin & checkout. Comfortable bed and great water pressure in shower. Would have been nice to have bigger cups in room and a teaspoon. We did dine in the restaurant and it was convenient however I think the waiter was new as he didn’t take away glasses or plates when bringing more.

The shower needed to be unblocked andthe tile floor was slippery so one with crutches had to be careful

This hotel is in desperate need of an update it is showing its age

The room and bathroom was clean, no smell of smoke. Beds were comfy, blankets and pillows were fluffy. The shower was amazing, no low pressure water saving nozzle. Hotel is right off the highway, we took lots of road trips and being able to pop on n' off the highway was great.

Checked in in the early hours of the morning and up again a few hours later for an early flight. Main light wouldn’t turn off in the room so had to change rooms at 2am in the morning. Walls are paper thin so you can hear everything your neighbours are saying and when the water runs in other rooms it is so noisy. Not a peaceful place to lay your head if you are needing sleep before or after a flight. Nice staff, poor building.

Issues with missing aircon remote. Had to be given another room.

Value for $$$

Service was excellent by the staff but special mention goes to F Office, Ms Aileen. Aircon compressor needs service when heater mode was selected compressor makes alot of noise.

Room was New and clean for a good price. Affordable comparing to online available rooms. Only need to install a power outlet in the bathroom for shaving and hair dryer or at least provide a power extension cable for this purpose.

It’s was my first time in stay I really love it just

The airport transfer was well organised and much appreciated. The hotel seemed further from the airport than we thought.

I liked that the property was open 24/7, had friendly staff , comfortable beds and is close to the airport. I didn't like that the room needs some maintenance, had tea and coffee provisions, but no kettle or cups and did not have a floor towel for the bathroom area.

Property seemed rather old. Needs to be updated. Very few amenities.

Was okay for a stop over, shower pressure was terrible but as it was only one night so can cope with it. Staff were friendly

The bathroom had a leak and smelled terrible, no towels in the room and a daily task sheet had been left behind by workers. Definitely won't be staying again.

It was an ok stay before my next flight.
