Horrible hotels.com and my ever worst stay

Hotels.com should take a more active role to ensure reservation is confirmed especially when the booking is done on the same day when staying overnight on the same day. Worse thing hotels.com can say no refund can be given as it is non refundable and subject to the hotel approval. It was at the very same hotel which I was sitting for one hour and not allowed to go. Will I get any kind of compensation? Nothing. Nothing to appease me. Hotels.com is not the only one. I will venture out for some other better agents. I think they are starting to take things for granted, I have been a loyal customer for so many years and this is how I am treated, Now about the hotel… 1) Aircon not working. Hot 2) towels not given and had to request. Said given when not given 3) No telephone- hotels.com tried to call the management to verify the issue and they cannot go through 4) shower/ water pressure so low, water was trickling down 5) toilet seat broken

Property not well maintained. Hard to get car. Not much amenities around the area.

Check-in staff wanted additional RM10 for a 'foreigner fee' and told me its hotel requirement but later 'wavied off' for me after I questioned him further. Room was old, dirty with spider webs and old bedsheets. Tv was not functioning and no towel. When I went down to counter and ask for towels, staff said hotel has ran out of it.

The shower needs to be cleaned better especially the drain which was mostly blocked so the shower flooded the bathroom. Floor was a bit dusty. Bedsheets were stained!

Quick check in and comfortable room while it is a bit dark. One problem was water stopped in the morning and I could barely took shower.

very clean and at the top of their class, value for money, free parking at the hotel front, next to Balai Polis, even have a security guard during night time, complimentary mineral water, air kotak and some snacks, good job for the management. (by the way, there is no elevator at the building. kindly confirm with the hotel to book room at the ground for the elderly)

Quiet, clean and the stay worth the money

Overall satisfied. Just the lightning bit dark for reading in the night.For bussines trip, there's no table for doing some work, only small table inside the room. Bit suprise with the snack and beverage given in the room. Will come back again.

The wash basin was too near to cloth hanger and this will make your hanging cloth can be wet easily. Beside the tissue box was so small amount. When request for room 2 keys they reply that only 1 key can be issue. Very disappointed!

Wonderful and unexpected good!

Didn't expect the Premier Queen to be so beautiful! A budget hotel and extremely comfortable! Loving the interior design :) Only point to pick out would be the slight stains on the linen but it's understandable! Warm staffs you have!

Quiet, clean and basic hotel

Booked this hotel knowing that there is nothing nearby. It is not in a busy area, there is a minimart right beside so you can still get basics however shopping etc is far away. We droved there so distance not a problem for us. Love how basic yet clean the hotel is. Very simple, the location of TV is great, love the layout of the room. Overall for the price, highly recommend. Do not expect high level of service as this is a minimalistic hotel, however the checkin and checkout was very smooth.

The hotel have complete facilities for their customers. The price is cheap, location near Danga Bay.

Go beyond the facade

Great staff, clean rooms and value for what one paid for. Supplies abound in the area but for late night hunger pangs, the hotel has its own convenience store. Rooms good and you can see they try to make full use of space. Strong exhaust fan to ensure moisture don't linger and the odour doesn't greet you each time you enter. Comfortable shower stalls without icky mold or stain.

Clean,affordable Budget hotel

The hotel condition and cleanliness is really very good although the place is not to any nearby entertainment spot and you need to grab a taxi in order to go out but if you are looking for budget,quiet, comfortable and clean hotel I would recommended this.

It was so comfortable to watch the tv and lie down at the same time. Great service by the front desk as they were awaiting for our arrival. However the wifi in the room was really bad. Overall enjoyed the stay very much. Would recommend this hotel to others.

A quick weeked trip to JB and this is a good hotel to stay in for shower & a night's rest. No frills, budget friendly, room is clean and tidy, with bottled water, towels and soap. Counter staff are always friendly & nice, be it during late night check in or morning check out. Will be back for sure! Thank you, Zoom Inn!

Book for a night & thought of extend for 2nd night in JB but after checkin & saw how the room & bathroom like, immediately change my mind & google to look for others available hotel. I don't lke thier toilet concept which has no wall. Its only a sliding door to seperate between the room & toilet. Bad air circulation when someone using the toilet eg: pass motion. Hotel rate was reasonable & with good surrounding as there are many others shop around the area. There also a police station jst next door.

Small hotel great service

Very clean room. The bathroom concept is something I did not like well there is no wall and is separated with glass. Near to 7 spice restaurant. Overall nice hotel. The staff are really helpful. Book taxi for us and also did the best to help us with our travel plan.

Booked a family room, travel down from KL to Johor by car, target legoland trip for kids. Don't expect too much for one night stay. Settings inside the room OK, no window but don't use their towel !

Main complain is the aircon which is not functioning. As a result, din sleep well. Coupled with the fact that there is no window to the room, it began to smell bad without air conditioning.

It was a good stay. Overall everything was fine. Wifi is a bit slow but still useable. Room was clean and comfy. Pleasant stay.

Suitable for single traveller

The room is OK, but the weird thing is there's only 1 door for 2 separate room; toilet and shower in which if you are showering then no one else can use the toilet. so, this is so not suitable for couples or those who are travelling with friends. Perhaps, please consider to rearrange your furniture to accommodate a space for those who wish to pray in the room.

Nice family room.

Booked a room for one night for jb shopping. We checked in at night, check in was a breeze, staff was nice & polite. Family room was good and spacious enough for 2 adults & 2 kids. We love the artsy wall and red doors for the bathroom, somewhat refreshing and perks up the room! Surprised to see there were 3 complimentary bottled water, yay! Beds were comfy enough and room was clean (very important!). For a budget hotel, this is very good. Highly recommend this! Will definitely be here again if we are going on a weekend trip to JB!

Clean, comfortable and uniquely designed

Zoom Inn's condition is very good and I loved the unique design. It was a comfortable stay and all the facilities were working well and clean. There are not much attractions within walking distance but the receptionist can help to call a taxi anytime. The area is still heavily being re-developed so I believe it will not be before long the area starts to boom again. In comparison to a 'no-frills' hotel nearby, we did not have to pay extra for air-con (pay as you use), towel etc at Zoom Inn and everything was provided for. Towels and toiletries were provided but there were no toothbrushes and combs provided.

Cheap. Transportation not convenient. crews helpful. Big construction site just in front of the hotel. Power outage (they said area-wide) twice during my 3 nights stay.

Nice little hotel with very chic design concept 20 mins drive from Legoland There's this nice restaurant right around the corner, opposite Tune Hotel, serves good food at a very very affordable price Very good value for money if itz a 1-night stay before Legoland Only drawback was the design of the shower and toilet, floor was connected, when you shower the toilet side would be flooded!

great experience

Police station is just beside. Very safe. They gave us a free upgrade. Room was big. Nice and clean deco. Love it!! Value for money. Staff can speak good english ,better than a lot of more established hotels I stayed. Will definitely stay with them again.

Boutigue - rain forest showers and artistic flair

Very pleasant. I would stay there again. Friendly staff. Don't use laundry service though - they're often late and lose things. Fun, upbeat room treatment. Next to police station and a good Indian restaurant. Very clean and safe.

Best price hotel in JB for the room & service

Check in at 12pm although it stated 2pm in the intenarary. Check in was a breeze, staff helpfull. Booked a premier room, although the room was small, but the way they arrange it, it was okay. Room was clean, the sofa in the room was nice, the towel was fluffy, better than other hotels which is more expensive. Air cond, TV was okay. Check out was also a breeze. Will definetly stay again if I visit JB.

Hotel was GREAT! the rooms were clean. the design of the room is modern. TV was super clear with many channels. Staff were really friendly. However, the location wasnt that great. nothing in the neighbourhood. no breakfast. no toothbrush. but you can easily get one.i have no complaints for this hotel. will definitely go back

Excellent service

We took a taxi from Legoland back to the hotel. It's not difficult for taxi driver to find it since it's right next to Tune Hotel. Once the driver has entered the blocks, you just need to pay attention to find Block 7. We checked in at around 7 o'clock. The room is attached with toilet and a basin outside next to our beds. The TV network wasn't good but we managed to watch the MOVIE channel. The hotel does not provide any breakfast nor they have any restaurant inside. There are several restaurants nearby, but remember to bring enough Malaysian dollar with you. There is WIFI inside and it's really good. At last, we called a taxi through the hotel and a female staff was being so careful that she double checked and make sure it's him. THANK YOU! I will definitely come back if I stay in JB.

worth your stay

the only lacking here is there is no elevator , YES they encourage you to use stairs . actually its doesnt bunged us at all , but pity to those with kids and big luggage . most probably to avoid this you all request to stay at first floor instead second . and ooh the toilet and shower door are sharing maybe it meant to design that way but to my conscience i hate to see toilet bowl at all time (because i closed the shower and let the WC open)

No frills hotel

It is a value for money hotel. Need to have a car as there is not much things around this hotel. Room is comfortable and service is quite good. They give me a free upgrade to the Deluxe room when I requested for a ground floor room. Driving to JB town or Bukit Indah takes ten mins.

Coozy toilet

The room is good and we like the toilet most. We had a great sleeping experience and overall is okay.

Comfortable well thought out design

The bed was huge and comfortable. The shower area was also pretty nice, though the WC should not be facing the bed. Found the sliding doors to the shower and WC area a little too troublesome. Overall clean and cool room. Aircon and wi-fi were strong. Lack of toothbrush, tooth paste and shaver.

Not far from Lego Land

We chose this hotel because the Legoland Hotel was fulll at that time. This hotel seems the nearest hotel to Legoland. We stayed in a family room with 1 double bed and 1 singe bed (no window). The room itself was nice, with painting on the wall. Clean and comforatable bed. Kettle and coffee provided. LCD TV was available. Ironing area (iron and iron board were provided) was available the corridor. Parking my car in front off the hotel at night should be safe since there was a police station next to it ;) . Grocery shop was just next door. Famous Grilled Fish restaurant was just next block. Do not expect hi speed internet (it was too slow and sometimes unale to connect it). It is not in the city center, neighborhood was quite at night. Hope this helps!

Neat hotel at nice Danga Bay area

We booked a premier room / queen size bed (with windows), but the room size was so compact that you might think twice that whether you have been given the correct room. Room flooring was partly bare cement and partly ceramic tiles. The console table where the LCD TV sat atop was rather angular with sharp edges. With that in mind, I would not consider the room very child friendly. On the positive side, the room was clean, free WIFI with decent speed, staffs were efficient and friendly, room rates were reasonable, and many cafes and restaurants are just around the corner (some are even within walking distance). Only one power plug point was available in the room, unless you unplug the TV for another power point. All in all, a neat hotel suitable for an overnight stay. For travellers with young children, I would recommend this hotel with some reservations.

Worth for 1 night stop over before heading to SG

Worth as a rest station before heading to Singapore the next morning. Room is still in good condition, just that sound proof is not really there hence quite noisy when someone else is talking outside / next room.

Fantastic service

My stay was comfortable. I found the staff very polite and helpful. The location was good. I felt safe as it was just next to the Police Station. My room didn't have any window so that was a negative point. However, I stayed only for one night so it was O.K.

Comfy bed and easy to locate

overall not too bad for a nite's stay. Only thing to note for hotel is: their (bed)sheets should not be 'sweeping the floor. It feels kinda dusty to me. That is why I gave cleanliness of room only 3 stars. No lift to upper level so if you have a large suitcase with you, then it is difficult. If not, climbing up 2 levels is totally fine. Definitely need a car to travel out to malls.
