Unique hotel, felt more like a bed and breakfast. The room was huge and very clean. A little awkward to have a shared bathroom in the hall just off the main lobby. The hosts had a great spread for breakfast and snacks as well as wine and beer for purchase. The downside was there wasn’t any staff present for a majority of our stay. The hotel was much farther from Zion and stores/restaurants than we expected as well.
Everything about the property, staff were accomodating, i felt at home. I highly recommend reserving this property.
Awesome at Zion Cliff Lodge
This was the best bed and breakfast we have ever been too. Perfect location. Above and beyond accomodations. Exceptional hosts. Would recommend to all !
Very nice stay. Highly recommend for anyone looking a quaint place to stay that’s not a hotel chain. Thank you to the owners Shem and Lisa for the hospitality. Best of luck. See you next time!
Got way more value than expected. Shem and Lisa have really gone above and beyond on their lodge. The room size was large, parking was convenient, the view from the upper patio/deck at both sunrise and sunset was outstanding. Shem and Lisa go out of their way to make you feel welcome. At just under 45 minutes from Zion national park, this place has it all and I look forward to my next trip to the area so I can have another stay here.
Hoosiers on Parks Tour
National Parks tour stop brought us to the UT-AZ state line after leaving Zion. Little town of Hildale. Not much there (except nice little Mexican restaurant - Blue Agave); 1 gas station town. But drove a few blocks off of SR59 and there was a diamond in the rough. Owner was at the front desk, greeted us, took us to the ‘honeymoon’ suite (we’re 70!), gave us a tour of the breakfast area and offered the restaurant recommendation. Much care involved in the decor - just beautiful. Very clean. Great bathroom w spa tub. Friendly guests. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if traveling this way again.
We were shocked that we need to share the bathroom. It was a bummer. Wish it was listed more explicitly. One more guest also felt the same. Other than that it was a unique experience for the stay and dining
Very friendly host. Comfortable and cosy. Nice intro to the Zion Nat'l Park area.
Outstanding service a very nice accommodations. Owner was incredibly helpful to us as we had to change plans. Highly recommend this lodge.
I enjoyed our stay at the Zion Cliff Lodge. The property is well taken care of. It is easy to talk to other guests, with the setup of the eating areas. We arrived late and the owner made some food for us, as we hadn't eaten dinner yet. I would stay again and highly recommend it.
Beautiful view and good location on the way to the north rim of the Grand Canyon
Excellent customized service
Great property ran by mamangement that cares about you experience. I would definitely stay there again!
This lodge is a gem in the board of Utah and Arizona! The location is stunning, with incredible views of Zion Canyon. The staff is warm and personalized, making you feel right at home. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, with everything you need to relax after a day of exploring. The tranquility and connection with nature are unmatched! We would definitely return, it's a perfect place to escape the city and reconnect with nature!
Roosters in am
Very good lodge. Spacious room with very comfortable bed and thoughtful touches in the room. Lisa, the owner, was friendly and efficient. We'd definitely stay again if in the area!
Unique lodge in the middle of the mountains… nice stay
Homely vibe! Good place to stay!
We loved our time at Zion Cliff Lodge, the owners are wonderful & very knowledgeable/helpful!
One word gorgeous!! Beautiful, spotless and a very peaceful place. You feel like in a high end boutique place rather than a lodge. The hosts are very welcoming and the kitchen is full of quality snacks. The only thing for us was that it’s a bit far from Zion - about an hour drive. But it definitely can be planned and it’s a personal preference…the beauty of the place compensates well for it.
Check in was a breeze and the room and the bathrooms were really clean and cozy. We had 2 small dogs with us and there is space outside for them to walk. There is coffee , tea and snacks available 24/7 without charge. The lodge is really close to Water Canyon.
Amazing, great spot for hiking and adventuring. Quiet and peaceful, had everything you needed! Great breakfast accommodations
Absolutly magnificent and exceedingly welcoming deluxe 11 room lodge in Hilldale. It alao happens to be an just 25 minutes drive to the heart of Zion via the dirt topped Smithsonian Bypass, a road with some of the country's best scenery. Superb inn, one of the best in the area.
Property is beautiful, rooms are comfortable and beautiful. Bed and pillows are top quality and comfortable. Bathroom is very nice and the towels are soft and dry well. Breakfast has a large variety of options. Shemp and Lisa are wonderful hosts.
Great Stay
This ledge was great. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. The owners took great care in making the check-in and checkout process very easy. The only downside to this place was the shared communal bathroom. However, it was never a problem or issue.
This has been definitely been the best place I’ve stayed in. I would definitely recommend this place and would definitely be coming back. Pure excellence.
Unique lodging in this small community. Friendly and helpful with information on local eateries.
Great get away but close to the parks
Beautifully maintained lodging. Beautiful view quiet and great people own and run it
Wonderful find !
We were met with a fabulous welcome, we were really lucky and had our room upgraded. The lodge is lovely, the bathroom is beautifully decorated and we were able to totally relax after a long drive.
Very nice clean place. Owners are awesome! Rooms feel brand new. Nice views.
Hosts were great!
Very friendly hosts. Could hear people walking and talking above us.
Clean and nice staffs and quit
I didn’t like that you had to share a bathroom and was not told until you got to the hotel. If I would have known before I would have not booked there , it was very inconvenient.
Nice room, friendly staff.
Home away from home
This lodge is an absolute gem! Quiet, comfortable, and with every amenity you could wish for. My family and I stayed here during a visit to Zion and the drive to the park and back was beautiful, don't let the distance deter you. This ended up being the best place we stayed on our week-long road trip through the Mighty Five. Highly recommend!
What a fabulous place to stay! So quaint! Lori and Shem were the absolute best with welcoming us and making sure the lodge had everything one would need (snacks, breakfast, drinks, views, hospitality, spacious and clean common areas, rocking chairs to enjoy the view, easy check in, and helpful tidbits for the surrounding area). I could on and on. We will be back!
Excellent property! Very cozy and homey!
This place was 5 star across the board except for one thing; some of the rooms share a bathroom! That might have been our fault for not catching that but it was kind of a shock to have to go down the hall to a shared bathroom.
Check in directions were sent via text with plenty of time prior to arrival and easy enough to follow. One of the owners was onsite to answer any questions. Lodge is cozy, clean and stocked with lots of snacks. Convenient location to Zion or Kanab.
It's beautiful, with amazing views to the Mountains almost in the backyard, very quiet and conveniently located, close to Zion National Park
Beautiful property and great hosts!
Mixed review, but net positive.
Room & lodge were spotless. Rustic decor is appealing. Breakfast fare minimal but reasonable. We were unprepared for having to share bathroom with other guests. Heat control in the room was not working, and host did not bother (at first) to explain how to heat room. I was nonplussed when she said the control was in a common area!! TV cable news stations are all conservative (no CNN, no MSNBC, but all the FOX stations possible.) in spite of the frustrations, the overall stay was okay.
Very clean and inviting, nice room.
The owners were very nice and treated us very well. A great spot.
Fabulous in every way!
Exceeded expectations. A 4-star lodge at a 3-star price. Will definitely stay again and highly recommend to our friends & family. The hosts are charming!
Great place, lovely room
A Room with a View
The hosts were super helpful with answering questions I had about visiting Zion National Park. The lodge seems to be relatively new in an area that is undergoing some new development. The lodge is very clean, quiet, and has amazing views from the decks and windows of my room. It is about a 40 minute drive from the south entrance of Zion. I drove over to Zion National Park at 6:00 am and had no trouble finding parking within the park. Zion Cliff Lodge is a great place to stay if you like peace and quiet with beautiful views.
I can't imagine a better room close to Zion
Best place I have ever booked on hotels.com bar none. New lodge is gorgeous. Had master with private bath along with access to huge kitchen/dining area and really nice yard. Owners helped us settle in and were there to share a nice breakfast in the AM. Close to Zion, really good place to stay for park visitors.
Very attractive and appealing accomodations. Spacious, attractively decorated. Spacious common area for mingling and breakfast.Excellent coffee.
I would compare my stay to that of a 5-star property. The proprietors were absolutely amazing! They have put thought into every detail from plush mattresses to leaving wine in dining area for guests to enjoy after hours. I will definitely return for many more stays.
Our hosts were even more amazing than the beautiful room that we stayed in. By far the most customer centered service and care for their guests that I’ve ever experienced. in Zion Cliff, Lodge is a must stop if you’re going to Zion.
Great place!
A little off the beaten path but easy to find. Wonderful, friendly hosts and a beautiful immaculate facility. You can't ask for more than that.
There was no staff but the person we called was very helpful. The double bed rooms do not have private bath’s which is odd. But the place is very nice. Beautiful woodworking
Very friendly staff and super accomodating! Highly recommend staying here
This property is absolutely beautiful. And the owners/hosts were friendly and helpful. However the website does not emphasize the fact that there are many rooms that do not come with their own private bathroom. Some of us have health issues that facilitate us having our own bathroom.
The owners really take care of you and make you feel very welcome. It’s an incredibly beautiful place. The location is great when you want to somewhere between Zion and the Grand Canyon. But if you’re there just for Zion, you’ll have to be ok with the hour drive which we were. There were a few really nice trails nearby which we didn’t expect to enjoy as much as we actually do. It’s kids friendly too. They have lots of games outside for the kids to let loose. Great experience. Beautifully decorated Hotel. Gladly coming back.
Friendly staff. Clean rooms and common areas. Close proximity to several parks.
Breakfast was so so…
This was better than a hotel! It was clean, quiet, and had all the amenities needed. The even had a small stack of breakfast options to keep you going before you head out to the National Park. I truly enjoyed my stay here and recommend it to anyone else looking for a place to stay when in Zion.
One Happy Camper
PHENOMENAL EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE!!! Lisa and Shem are AMAZING!!! They went Above and Beyond the Call of Duty to make sure that my friend's and I had the most Pleasant stay at their Wonderful Gorgeous Lodge!!! It truly is a Treasure, tucked away in the most Beautiful setting of God's Natural handiwork with Breathtaking Canyon Views all around it! Our rooms were Perfect! Breakfast was Delicious! Thank you very much!
Great Ambience
The room was excellent and very clean. Plenty of room with comfortable bed/bedding and great decor. With an attached out door area. This is not a run of the mill hotel. Common areas are very comfortable and inviting. It is strangely located in a residential area with neighbors having chickens, roosters always crowing. If that doesn't bother you then you won't be disappointed. I Will come back when I the area, really liked this property.
Beautiful views, lovely accommodations, comfortable bed great hosts, fire pit, very relaxing.
The owners are wonderful; very helpful and engaging. The attention to detail is impressive!!! Such an inviting oasis and relaxed feeling throughout. No sense of hurry or worry. I loved my room and my experience hanging out on the balcony and talking with the owners watching the sun go down at the base of the mountains.
Beautiful property!
It was like home away from home, safe secure and friendly. I felt very welcomed and accommodated.
We had a great stay with them. I actually chose the wrong room, when I made reservations but one phone call and it was fixed within 3 minutes. It was close to everything we needed, yet far enough to be quiet
Beautiful
The room was Immaculately clean and the scenery is stunning. Lisa and Shem are classic innkeepers. They want your experience to be pleasant and the Lodge is a welcoming place. It felt more like visiting dear friends than a hotel. Plus there are many comfortable common areas to meet with other guests and learn about this beautiful area! Will absolutely return!
This lodge was the best I’ve ever stayed in. Super clean quiet and unique! Beds comfortable Hosts were super nice. Would definitely stay again and highly recommended when visiting Zion national park.
Love, love, love this place!!! Beautiful property!!! We stayed in the Cottage and it is beautiful!!! Very clean!!! Felt like home!!! Not far from Zion and the drive is beautiful!!! We will be back someday!!!
Really nice shared spaces and lots of snacks available 24/7. We were in the Kokopelli room and had an en suite bathroom, not all rooms do, with nice deep bathtub. Clean and comfortable. Staff aren’t sitting at the desk but are responsive via text/email. Would stay here again.
Nice facilities and clean place. You have to pay attention because some rooms share a bathroom. Had no info on where to get breakfast or times for breakfast also no info on how to check. The worst part was the check out time at 9am because it was so early we didnt fell like we could relax or go to the bar. otherwise no issues
Very beautiful lodge. Owners were friendly and very accommodating. Very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling through southern Utah.
There was no bathroom in the first room so we got a different room. It was nice but you couldn’t control the temperature and it was very hot and hard to sleep also many of the doors wound not shut without slamming them
Imprssive place. We love it. Super clean and cozy!! We would love to come back again.
Zion Cliff Lodge Beautiful…
Very pretty place. The beds were comfortable. It was in the middle of basically no where. There were 3 options for dinner. Our concerns were: We did not know it was a shared bathroom. That fact was buried in the details and you needed to click a couple of links before you found it. Another guest there said the same. He did not know about the bathrooms. The doors to the bathroom did not shut very well. There was not a thermostat in our room so it was cold. There never was a person from the lodge on site. Check in and check out was done via text. There wasn’t a phone in the room or an exit plan in case of an emergency. Breakfast was provided. Bread, bagels and English muffins in baggies along with pop tarts and oatmeal. They did have that along with snacks and coffee/tea available 24/7. They also had popcorn that was delicious!
The facility itself was beautiful & excellent in cleanliness. The bed was very comfortable. However, things listed that were supposedly available & part of the stay were not available. Very noisy neighbors so clearly not very soundproof.
I loved it here. Very quaint and cozy, I will be visiting again!
Hidden gem with majestic views!
We originally booked because we misunderstood this property's proximity to Zion National Park (it's roughly equidistant between Zion and Bryce Canyon parks, and we thought it was much closer to Zion). We almost changed our booking, but we decided that it looked so cute that we wanted to give it a try anyway. Man, are we glad we did! It's now officially Our Favorite Place. The owner/operators really made it easy for you to be as social or introverted as you prefer. You can text questions or request assistance 24/7, and they are always prompt and friendly. They didn't serve a hot breakfast while we were there, but they did have a robust continental breakfast/snacking/coffee bar available all day and night. They do have a commercial kitchen, but frankly we left early each morning to go hiking, so the offerings were perfect for our purposes. It's a large, beautiful home (with 10 huge guest rooms, it's small for a b&b but HUGE for a home) and you can tell loving attention was paid to all the appointments and decor. We stayed in the Kokopeli room (#25) - don't be fooled into thinking from the pictures that the size of the tub is a lens trick, it is NOT. It really is that big, AND it is a deep soaking tub. I'm 5'9", and after hiking all day in snow and ice I really enjoyed getting to stretch out in a tub where I could float effortlessly. Also note, two people can easily relax in this tub together *wink*. We can't wait to stay here again!
I absolutely loved my stay here! Such a cute and well kept lodge. I will definitely be coming back soon!
Host is very gracious and generous. Very clean place. Beautiful decoration. Very comfortable beds.
Contactless… no available in person staff but answers text messages right away.
Loved the design and decor. Did not like lack of sound proofing to adjacent rooms or lack of tv selections.
The property was beautiful but we were led to believe the location was much closer to the entrance to the park. It was a lengthy drive
We had a great stay. Spent two nights in the Vermilion Cliffs Room. The first night we had noisy neighbors, but by night #2 they were gone. The room was clean and pet friendly. Our microwave didn’t work but just down the hall is a lounge with food, coffee, and a microwave. Our room had an exit to the back deck which was ideal for taking our dog out, without having to walk through the building. We appreciated the self-check in, and pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. There isn’t continental breakfast, but the lounge offers food items 24/7. Self-serve. Our bed wasn’t as comfortable as we had hoped, but I believe that’s more of a personal preference. Others may find it comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. We did a walk through tour on YouTube. https://youtu.be/IKgaIyZyyGM
What a Jewel near Zion National Park
What a Jewel near Zion National Park. I wanted a place close but not too close to Zion and Bryce, and one that was not yes Another corporate hotel room experience! well I struck gold near Zion National park when I booked Zion Cliff Lodge. The place is clearly NOT a run of the mill hotel experience, the lodge is built with the guest first class experience in mind. The rooms are big, clean and well stocked , the common spaces are luxurious, well stocked for a Lodge stay (continental breakfast setup), the outdoor deck and spaces are large and lots of space for floating around and enjoying the scenic views and sunrises. My 29 year old Son and I were traveling together and we had the added benefit on our short stay to meet the owners of the place. they not only own it as investors, they actually spent 3 years building it themselves. and have a history in the area that is a story worth hearing. The owners are kind and generous and are invested in making this place and the city an example of success. It truly is a Jewel. Yes, it's a little ways outside of the hustle bustle of Zion National Park entrance cities, but the stay quality and experience was worth it. There are quite a few not-so secret hidden hiking trails near the house so you don't have to go into the Park every day if you are there a few days. The stock photo of the entry does not do the lodge justice, you are renting space in an over 8,000 sqft lux lodge. We would definitely be back. Tim & Ian (Sedona, AZ)
Very well maintained. Contactless check in and out. They thought of everything with extra towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash etc. great property!!!
It was wonderful. We loved everything about the property It was comfortable clean and people was helpful We visited Mt Zion and Bryce Canyon while we was there Beautiful area. Accomadations was greT
Zion Cliff Lodge was out stop en route to Zion National Park. The lodge was the perfect place for us! The room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the views were breathtaking! I will definitely be back!
My boys and I absolutely loved this hotel and felt like we were in our own home and beautifully decorated such attention to detail the room was amazing the beds were so comfortable. The town is very very small but there’s an amazing grocery store that we were able to buy stuff at It’s about an hour drive to Zion but it was so worth it I wouldn’t of stayed anywhere else!
The place was beautiful and clean. Not having a private bathroom but a shared bathroom was uncomfortable.
Great place to stay
Hospitality was great, quiet neighborhood, nice view. Wish the room will have a bathroom instead of sharing bathroom.
Everything
Great views and access to Zion and Bryce.
Please read & see for yourself
All in all I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN-I support what the owners are trying to do. The location is away from all the tourist stuff yet less than an hour to Zion National Park-but there is nothing to do once you get to this town. It would just be helpful to know the following before going in to maximize the visit. Lodge was clean & comfortable. This was a decent stay with some caveats. Things I wish I had known going in: Continental breakfast was oatmeal packets, bagels, juice boxes & coffee. There is no staff on site, so we were in a hotel/lodge-not an airbnb-where one would expect being alone-with no visible staff. Housekeeping showed up at check out but there was old popcorn sitting in the popper for days, uncleaned. That said for check in there was a sign at reception desk to call for room codes. Response was IMMEDIATE & FRIENDLY. Given the remote, somewhat deserted location set in a former polygamist settlement in the middle of the desert, & lack of staff present, it would have been good to know where we were headed beforehand. It felt at times like a ghost town. Literally there was no one around! I wouldn't feel comfortable coming to such an isolated community alone or just with children, let alone walking around. Something about it seemed lawless, like the wild west. There are very few amenities, including restaurants, food and basic items within 50 miles. It is centrally located between Zion Nat'l Park & Grand Canyon & other nature sizes-a big plus.
Not great.
The lodge is a beautiful house right on the boarder of Utah and Az. It's in a neighborhood that is safe but really run down. There is nothing you can walk to, to see or do, there is no place to eat or even shop for food that is in walking distance. You have to drive to Az to get to the only grocery store. We never saw another person in the house. The owners text you a number to get in your room and ask you to text when you leave. After that you don't hear anything from them and they are never there. They never responded to a question I had. The continental breakfast is a bunch of Costco grab and go crackers and pop tarts (which I forgot how much I loved!) Bagels but no cream cheese and no butter. Just fake margarine. English muffins were individually put in baggies in a little fridge which made half the muffin soggy. Not a big deal if you toast it. They also had peanut butter. They post that the lodge has a bar. There is a bar but nothing in it and no one working it. If you're looking for a nice place to stay with a great view of the mountains and don't care about location or activities, then this is a good choice. But if you need to be close to the trails or want a little more amenities then this isn't your place. It's over an hour's drive to any hike we did.

Hosts were wonderful
