Not a very pleasant stay

Room was OK. The lifts need serious repairs. It took us 10 min to get the lift and get to our room. We checked in one room and they had a lounge just above our room so it was very noisy where as the details of the room say noise proof rooms. We had to request and change the room which they did for us. As soon as we got in the room we heard some girls shouting in the lift as the lift had stopped working and they were stuck. For breakfast it was surprising that we had to pay extra for a hot chocolate and for eggs. Those are basic things which should be a part of a breakfast. On the other side the staff was very helpful. As soon as we complained they changed the room for us. During check out one of the staffs really tried hard to get us a taxi. Unfortunately I personally wouldn't go again to the hotel

great location.. bad experience..

Bathroom privacy is a concern.. Aircon did not work properly.. they were not able to fix.. lift buttons need some work.. Sloppy housekeeping.. bathrooms had been recently renovated.. still had construction dust.. took away 4 towels and then replaced 3.. Horrible breakfast experience .. no buffet.. so must take their set meal with beef (we are vegetarians).. not interested in our inputs.. no replacements offered.. charged extra even though we didnt take their set meal..

The room was DIRTY and was dusty. The mini fridge was broken We stayed for 2 nights and no housekeeping was done despite us putting a sign on the door and also calling reception to inform them no housekeeping was done and they said they would send someone but they never did. Utterly unprofessional staff. I do not know how this hotel is still operating

Worst hotel I had ever stay in .. Don’t try it

One of the worst hotel I have had ever stayed in since 35 years ago when I started traveling around the world .. the employees are very friendly but the rooms that had given to us were very awful .. very dirty and blankets untidy.. very very noisy especially from outside traffic and the police sirens and the ship’s horns.. moreover, guests and employees were very noisy and couldn’t sleep at all. The worst nightmare was the bathroom!! The toilet flush didn’t work and the washbasin drainage was blocked and the water overflow!!! Additionally the water was freezing and there was no hot water at all.. I was planning to stay two weeks in this hotel but my family requested me to leave day to a franchised chain hotel which I did. Therefore, I don’t recommend this hotel and the owner of this hotel should think twice before running a hotel in this situation!!! I don’t recommend Hotels.com to do business with this hotel again. It will damage its reputation and international image that hotels.com built over too many years.

For an average of $110 per night , I stayed in the worst dirtiest smelly hotel room in my life. The bed sheets smelled so bad I couldn’t sleep. Pillow were very uncomfortable and the cover was very small and smelly. The shower was loaded with mold and rust and greedy floor . Hallways dark no working lights .

I think that the service was very good. The reception especially tried their best to make sure everything was to my liking. The room I had was in a bit of a state of disrepair, but I did also get the cheapest room so I can't really complain.

Strategic location and beautiful view from 7th flr

Excellent location for tourist since there was tram just opposite. Some rooms need to be repair esp toilet light, bedroom light & hairdryer. Male reception work late night shift were very helpful & friendly when we arrived but day shift (name I can’t remember) were very rude during teleconversation when we were asked to be transfered to another room. Breakfast was same everday not variety. The breakfast time was from 7 to 10.30 but it should be extended to 11.30am since some tourist woke up late because long hours travel or entertainment should be considered by the hotel management. The service was not up to standard.

It was old room with some problem...and the night until 3 o'clock some very high noise sound to our room...

Location is amazing - service was also good. We got upgraded to a suite which was stinking to the point we couldnt even enter the suite. We were then given a room with a beautiful view but was tiny.The hotel seems to be in a constant state of needing repair- we had to call to get the water heater fixed, room cards didn't work- but to the hotel's credit, an electrician came at 1 am to fix the door. There was always a wait for the elevator- as the hotel had a rooftop hookah bar. The pros are that the location is great with a view of the Bosphorous and is right across a tram station. The rooftop restaurant served great food and is a happening hookah lounge. Only if they could work on the hotel infrastructure.

I booked a sea view Room but when I reached there they told me that we don’t have rooms availability and I was waiting for more than one hour after that they gave me a normal room but same price of sea view . This Hotel was very noisy and old bathroom.there is not customer friendly.

Facilities were not great. Simple things didn’t work like the lock on the toilet door, the rooms smelled like damp and the cleanliness wasn’t great. The biggest issue was the first night they put us in the room under Lulu Hookah lounge and we did not sleep all night. Tables being moved around until 5 am, no sound proofing, no blackout curtains so the light came through the window reflected on the mirrors straight into your eyes and cutlery being moved around. They seem to put anyone that come to the hotel in that room for the first night - expecting people to request a room change. I am aware of 2 other customers that were placed in that room for the first night. Breakfast is okay, filter coffee runs out at 8:20, staff are nice and speak English.

Very dangerous, anyone can walk in from the club/lounge upstairs without being checked and they can go to any floor. The rooms all smell like cigarettes and AC only functions for 15-20 min then goes on fan air. Not recommended

Staff were rude, unhelpful with unbelievably judgmental attitude, every time I walked into the hotel they judged my looks and questioned me if I’m really staying here. The booking was altered without informing me, I booked a room for a proper sea view but got a room close to the ground with loud city noises, and with annoying problems in the toilet, problematic window that won’t open, light sensors that always turn on & off randomly loud noises coming from the ventilation and leaking sink pipes and not working TV remote.

1. no quite clean, my toilet is not flush and no one to fix it till I check out. 2. too specific electric adapter. 3. room size it too tight. (may be it's just standard room) 4. good breakfast restaurant. 5. good location (beside the tram)

- I would never recommend this hotel to a friend as it is overpriced, not properly maintained, & have bad housekeeping services. - When I first checked-in, I found that the safety box not functioning properly, & I requested the technician to fix it. - When booking my suite, the suite description indicated that the sitting area have sofa-bed, but instead I found a regular sofa, & when requested one, the hotel manager promised to provide an extra bed, but unfortunately it was not delivered, & we used the sofa as a bed for my son…!! - The light motion detector sensor in the closet was defective (light kept turning on & off while sleeping), & when requested to fix it, the technician simply disconnected it from power! - To open the closet door, you need extra muscles, as the rollers are defective. - The hotel did not provide facial tissue in the room or bathroom, even after I requested it from housekeeping the first day. On the second day and after tipping the housekeeper, he provided facial tissue! - Bad A/C cooling system & design, the air flows more on the sitting area & not on the sleeping room. - There was cockroach in the bathroom. - Basin water flow was more than what the drainage could handle in the wash area, & the technician could not manage to fix it! - The suite had two TV sets; one did not have remote control while the available one did not have battery cover! - Breakfast was Ok, & the view of the restaurant was nice.

Disappointing in every sense. Nothing fits the description. Very old decoration. Smelly carpet. Noisy rooms Very poor breakfast, be in the varieties or the quality on offer suffered power cut and no emergency generator. Fault could not be fixed for few hours. Had to go down dark stairs using mobile. Hotel staff just shrug their shoulder and did not bother about safety of the guest, or their well being

First time I ever give a negative review-

I have stayed in many hotels before and I always make good reviews and keep the bad reviews to myself. Except this time!! I was very disappointed with this hotel. The staff were not friendly, always too busy to help. The room was old and dirty! We had to ask for room service every afternoon... the smell and the condition of the hotel is bad. I hate to ever place a bad review but this cannot go unnoticed! Never again!

Excellent location, but not the rooms and services

Hotel location is excellent, breakfast is good we took 2 suit rooms the service was not good , we had an electricity faliure in 1 room they came after 2.5 hours after 3 times of calling after i went to reception and complaint, We took a shuttle to the airport ( paid extra charge ) their driver left our bags in the street ( asphalt) and drove away althought no discussion happened between us.

Old and dirty

Uncomfortable stay at this hotel. The room we had have a broken mirror, old dirty furniture, the bathroom smells. The only good thing about this hotel is very close to the metro station.

Don't go there

Terrible hotel would never stay there again. "City view" is just a big brick wall, electricity cut outs in rooms, cleaners don't clean properly and never put tissue in toilet, no sound insulation so you can hear everything outside, no ac/fan so was boiling at night, safe in room got locked won't open, curtains not long enough so sun will get in first thing in the morning. This is just to name a few things iv stayed at many hotel and wouldn't give this place 2 stars. Breakfast was half decent and the view from it but that's all.

Excellent Hotel & Location. Staff is very supportive. However, the hotel is not common for Taxi Drivers, they always have problems in identifying the place though its on famous sea side road. Breakfast is also good. However, the menu does not changed (atleast for 4days in our case).

good value great location

The location is perfect and close to the taksim and istiklal. The breakfast was with a beautiful view of the bosphorous. Now they have renewed all the hotel so that is a plus point for the hotel.

Great hotel in perfect location

We had a great stay at the Nixon Bosphorus Hotel - although while we were staying it appeared that they were changing the name of the hotel to "Anjer". The stay was great, the breakfast every morning on the rooftop was a delight. Wide selection of items to chose from and great quality too. The breads, cheeses, teas, to go with all the hot preparations were amazing. The hotel is directly across the tram line which connects to the heart of the city where all the monuments and shopping spots are. This is the only tram line which visits the city center and having immediate access to the line was a great bonus. The other end of the tram line connects to the funicular which gives immediate access to Taksim Sq. The views from our room overlooking the Bosphorus were fantastic. The staff too was very approachable and took every effort possible to make the stay pleasant. All-in-all the stay was great. Top three takeaways: 1. Location near tram line. 2. Breakfast. 3. Views of the Bosphorus.

Beautiful location, easy access to transportation. more negatives than positives about the hotel. I have stayed many times and this time was beyond horrible. The room we got last minute so it was not the bosphorus room. So we got the regular rooms city view. Well there is no city view, just views of generator pumps to the hotel. The smell of the rooms was so gross you felt like you smelled like sewage. Even after complaining they just smile say we will put air freshner. Well sewage smell never left along with the power outages in hotel daily. And the rooms are NOT sound proof anywhere in hotel, you can hear everything and everyones conversations from all directions even from elevators. No privacy at all. I love hotel only for location purposes. Staff needs to learn more English but again no one in Turkey speaks English so I guess learning Turkish is only option :)

Perfect location but needs improvement

We purchased 2 rooms, 1 was on the first floor the second room was in the 2nd floor. First floor room size was good but the power shut off daily, and horrible disgusting sewage smell that would not ever go away. Even complaining didnt get us anywhere. 2nd floor room was so small you had to basically climb on the toilet to close the bathroom door. I stayed here many times before and this was the worse experience. If you stay I suggest selecting a bosphorus deluxe room and nothing else or you will regret every day. Breakfast is same thing daily and same with ever visit. The staff has got to learn English, they dont understand barely any. so plan on learning Turkish then you will be able to talk to staff. I travel to Turkey once a month and i always choose Nixon or Marti. Next time I will go back to Marti. :(

Great sea view, but..

I went with my family and were given a nice room with amazing sea view. Hotel location is very good 100m away from meter station, taxis and bus available at the hotel door. Nice staf. We had a nice three nights, but: 1. For wifi nternet connection, u have to reconnect and enter the password everytime u want to use the internet. 2. We took a room for three and they gave us 1 key only, they said bcoz of security reasons we stopped giving more than 1 key. 3. Breakfast doesn't have many varieties. Over all rating, very good hotel

Kamer was schoon maar zeer beperkt en uitzicht was te doen maar had iets beters verwacht. Service personeel goed. Douche ok op paar minpunten na. Bovenlocatie lulu lounge uitstekend.

Personal super. Zimmer schimmelt, Schimmelgeruch extrem. Allgemein nicht so sauber. Room Service leider mangelhaft, wurde nur das nötigste gemacht. Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen, war mal besser.

Es war sehr schön dort immer wieder gerne das personal super alles sauber die umgebung sehr schön der bazaar alles ist in der nähe also sehr zu empfelen

De ligging van het hotel is super. Je bent echt overal dichtbij. Het is een 4-sterren hotel in een grote stad. Wij hadden hierbij geen hoge verwachtingen, maar wij hebben het niet prettig ervaren. Schuifdeur van de klerenkast in de kamer schoof niet, wc knop werkte alleen als je beide knoppen te gelijk indrukte, ventilatie in de badkamer maakte enorm geluid en die van de kamer kwam vieze lucht uit. Wij verbleven op de 2e verdieping en op de 4e verdieping werden er kamers gebouwd dus werden we ook nog eens elke ochtend wakker met geboor!

Établissement correct, très mal isolé, beaucoup de bruit et il fait très froid dans la chambre malgré le chauffage. Sinon chambre correct, hôtel bien situé et un bon resto chicha sur le toit qui rattrape un peu le reste.

Die Lage war Top. Aber die Zimmer sind katastrophal . Ich hatte in meinem Bett lange Haare liegen und staub. Der Boden und die Spiegeln waren verdreckt das kann man sich nicht vorstellen. Die Spüle bei der Toilette hat nicht funktioniert. DA das Badezimmer Dunkel war sieht man nicht viel und in der Dusche war kein Licht man musste im Dunklen duschen und es war alles verkalkt. So eklig das ich die 3 Tage nicht geduscht habe. Also im Gesamt betrachtet war das mein schlechtestes Hotel in Istanbul bis jetzt ich fliege alle 3 Monate runter aber sowas habe ich noch nie gesehen. Würde es auf jedenfall nicht weiter empfehlen. Und dazu muss ich noch sagen ich wollte in die Lulu Lounge und habe kein Tisch bekommen obwohl ich Hotelgast war.

Rummet luktade fruktansvärt från toa, gammalt smutsig toa, Fuktigt skada. Dålig hissar. Golvet så äckligt smutsig.

Im Zimmer an der Decke war Schimmel, das Zimmer sah nicht so aus wie auf den beschriebenen Fotos. Das Schimmel hat einfach Wasser getropft in unser Gesicht während dem schlafen, als wir das Personal darauf angesprochen haben meinten sie ja wir können das Zimmer nicht wechseln, und eine Entschädigung gibts auch nicht und das wir ruhig die Fotos veröffentlichen können. Durch dass das Hotel eine shisha bar hat, mussten wir jedes Mal so lange auf den Aufzug warten weil jeder in die shisha bar wollte, durch die shisha bar war es immer so laut das wir gestört wurden beim schlafen. Also im ganzen waren wir so froh dort weggekommen zu sein weil es einfach nur schrecklich war!! Das mit dem Schimmel war ein Highlight!!

Den gammal rum

Das Zimmer war total unhygienisch und die Bettwäsche wurde nicht ein mal gewechselt!! Der Boden wurde weder gewischt nocht gesaugt! Die Abflüsse haben nicht funktioniert und die Regendusche war kaputt!!! Wir haben die Rezeption darauf angesprochen und es passierte nicht. Die Klimaanlage war laut und verstaubt. Der Ausblick des Zimmers schaute auf den vollgepackten Innenhof und die Fenster waren ebenfalls kaputt.

Zimmerhygiene war das allerletzte, im Badezimmer war alles undicht, Toilettenspülung hat nicht richtig funktioniert, mehrmals beschwert aber hat keinen wirklich interessiert. Zimmersafe ohne funktion. Aus dem Fenster sah man nur eine dunkle Wand an. Es war mit Abstand das schlechsteste Hotel wo ich jemals war. Auf dem Hotel gibt es das bekannte Lulu Lounge, da war alles super, das hat aber mit dem Hotel an sich nichts zu tun, da kann man auch als kein Gast des Hotels hingehen.

Otelin odasının kapalı alana bakması benim beğenmediğim tarafı oldu karanlık manzarasız ve aydınlatmaya bakıyor olması hiç hoş bir durum olmadı.Ama kahvaltısı çok beğendim. Otel konumu çok iyi beğendim.

Super Personal sehr freundlich

Im grossen ist es ein sehr schönes Hotel. Sehr zentral aber dennoch nicht so laut. Zimmerservice könnte sich ein wenig verbessern. Aber trotzdem waren ale Mitarbeiter sehr nett und offen.

Dårligt

Værelset lugtede af fugt, hår og støv på gulvet. Toillettet kunne ikke skylle ordentlig ud. Jeg betalte for et værelse med udsigt, men vi kiggede ud til betonvæg. Det eneste der er godt ved hotellet er udsigten fra Lulu cafe.

Leider war das zimmer sehr dreckig der Boden nicht gewischt, flecken auf den Spiegeln, das Bad schlecht beleuchtet und das aller schlimmste waren Blutflecken auf den Kopfkissen. Klimaanlage hat seit Tag 1 nicht funktioniert, wurde bis zur Abreise auch nicht behoben. Das einzig Positive ist die Lulu Lounge auf der Dachterasse und die Mitarbeiter die sehr freundlich sind.
