Great value for New York City
YOTEL is an amazing value for New York City. That said, the hotel could use with a few basic improvements, namely a fridge and coffee maker in the room. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and the room was clean and bright.
The place is unique, with a unique layout, it is really beautiful and catchy specially at night, it’s groovy and vibe , the room is small , thought off, very modern like . The bed can be put in sitting or Standing position. Stuff are nice, check in and out are automatic however I didn’t feel like it was worth my money. The price started at $99 and with fees and whatever it end up at about $168, just for the room with an $85 additional for breakfast and I receive another bill for $45.33 for facilities fee. I don’t know how many fees need to be paid with them .our room smell smoke, and other was smoking in they room , we can smell it from the hallway. I will never return there .
Its nice but not that clean, cleaning staff is abit tought on getting your room clean.
everything was good no complaints
Great stay. Room was a little small but had most amenities. Besides unclear instructions on how to check in and get key cards the hotel was fantastic!
I loved that it was very easy to do everything with checking in, everything is very convenient for you and I would totally rebook again
I have stayed at Yotel before, specifically their Boston Seaport location, and loved it! When we were booking our stay in NYC, I was quick to book at Yotel because this previous, positive experience. When we got into our NYC room, we found dirt and residue in the sink and on the bedside table. We also only had one working outlet in the room, which made charging a difficult process. The worst part of our stay was when I went to shower, and found that there was mold covering the floor. The Yotel staff that we interacted with were lovely during our stay, I just wish that our room had been kept in better condition.
Good hotel for the price point
The hotel was a good stay for business travel room is a bit tight cutting washing machine, washing machine, and the bed motor to make it upright was not working, but other than that the room was comfortable good and effective for the price point and the staff are friendly and efficient and Seamless check and check out process
The view
We went to new york for Christmas. Saw this hotel on tick tock and we were expecting a new experience. The robot was broken to take out bags of was only one person working the lobby was packed. The room was suppose to have interactive led lights. Welp ours didn't work. Went to get ice it didn't work. Went to go use the vending machine it didn't work we lost money. The lobby furniture was very dirty. We didn't get the experience we thought. The idea was nice but it was just somewhere to lay down honestly not worth the money nor the hype.
Nice location.
Yotel in NYC is a good place to stay. The rooms are reasonable as far as price and the staff is helpful. Its about 7-10 minutes walk from Times Square, but far enough away so that you don't get a lot of the noise from that area. The hotel is modern and the parking is cheaper than most places in NYC. I would stay there again.
It was too noisy
Very friendly environment, nice room, and the sky lobby always had something going on.
It is unique in a way, the initial room provided did not have the basic amenities. It did not have a workstation (table and chair) to work. The reception staff is very unfriendly at best.
I liked the colored lights and towel dryer
My recent stay at YOTEL Manhattan was nothing short of fantastic! The modern, futuristic design of the hotel creates such a unique and vibrant atmosphere. The compact yet incredibly functional rooms were thoughtfully designed, maximizing space while maintaining comfort. The adjustable SmartBeds, mood lighting, and sleek bathroom fixtures made the stay feel luxurious. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Manhattan, making it easy to explore the city. The rooftop terrace offered breathtaking views of the skyline, and the in-house restaurant served delicious meals. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the entire experience seamless. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, YOTEL Manhattan is a perfect choice for its innovative design, excellent service, and prime location. I can’t wait to return!
Property was great, modern, fast easy self check in. Great location, 10 min walk to Times Square and all other popular areas. Would definitely book again.
N/A
The entire hotel smelled like a marijuana shop. Staff acted like they were doing you a favor by doing their jobs. Terrible and very predictable "comedy" performances in the bar area had the bartenders "shush"ing patrons who were having normal conversations. Vomit clogging sinks in the bar area. The rooms themselves were fine although the bathrooms have zero privacy or fans.
Room 1039 is bad
If you get room 1039, change out. The AC was about as loud as I have ever experienced going on and off every 20 minutes. Room looked a little more run down than normal for this hotel
The buildings seemed more older and run down. There were cracks in the ceiling and cracks in the wall. I could hear everything from other rooms at night. Also, room was not what was expected. When asked to get another room was given another room exactly the same.Even though I paid sixty dollars for early check in
Easy check-in. Funky modern vibe.
Excelente
I honestly liked it wayyy more than I thought I would! The rooms are small but they are clean and modern! I would definitely stay here again!
Solo traveler, & I am only in the room to shower and sleep. I'm perfectly fine with small rooms so the size of the room did not bother me at all! Yes it was awkward to have to climb over the bed to reach the window and blinds and the temperature control. I've read other reviews that said that the bed moves up and down by a switch, but either my switch was broken or my bed did not do that. Stayed 2 nights. Overall everything was fine once I got past the first night. Pros: - location was awesome - security in the lobby at all times - my room was quiet; I heard no one in the halls and really nothing outside either - comfy pillows Cons: - no safe in my room. They assured me it was there and I must just not see it, but when someone came down from the front desk he confirmed my room did not have one. - bath towel is the size of a postage stamp! OK I'm exaggerating, but it is truly the smallest bath towel ever - my view was some sort of storage balcony. Weird - there are not many lights in the room and they are all connected to one main switch. If you don't have the switch near the bed turned on, you can't turn on the light at the toilet or by the sink - my AC was not working when I arrived. As I was leaving for a dinner & show, I was assured several times that someone would look at it while I was gone and when I got back it would be fixed. Of course I got back 6 hours later and no one had looked at it. So much for "rest assured" which is what I was told over and over.
Needs more food options
Cost of 5 Start, experience of 1 Star
Expensive llke a 5 star Hotel and experience like 1 star. No welcome water, Lunch and dinner have to pay extra, not included in Resort Fee. Toiletries are limited.
The sheets were dirty and the bathroom light wasn’t working,, I called the front desk to see if they could come and fix it or moved us to another room I was told no and that there wasn’t anyone available to fix the light broken bathroom light..
We had a great experience. Everything is convenient. The front staff were attentive and observant. They extend help and guidance if they see the customer is anxious.
Very good
Convenient near all kinds of stores good security safe
It was ok. Rooms are outdated not much to do in the hotel. Nothing fancy lobby was very small.
No cancellation policy and I made mistake picking wrong days wouldn’t even get back to me to change the days to correct days wasn’t like I was canceling. I ended up paying double and they didn’t have any consideration. Plus the view in corner room isn’t that great. Tempo by Hilton is way better
Great place to stay with easy access to everything!
Very nice hotel! Room just perfect for 2 great location.
Loved it
It was a perfect location for downtown Manhattan. We asked for them to fix our safe in the room, but they weren’t able to before we left.
My first time staying here and was pleasantly surprised. Very modern style hotel. Rooms are small but comfortable. Adjustable bed surprising and comfortable. I will stay here again when I'm time square.
Great view, clean, and comfortable.
It was a good place to stay.
The hotel seemed very old and dated. There robot didn’t even work. Other than that, it was alright.
Whoever designed this room knew what they were doing! It's a small room but there was plenty of space for everything we needed! I wish there were more of these hotels around because I would love to stay there and no where else on all of our vacations!
Horrific experience
This was one of the worst and most disgusting hotels I have ever been to! On top of the $350 for the night, there was another $50 tax you pay when you sign in through the “kiosk”. Now for the room: Shower is extremely dirty and the water leaks out. There was a horrible draft from door going outside, we had to put towels down to prevent the heavy draft. There was no coffee pot (shouldn’t every hotel have a coffee pot?) OR a mini fridge. There is a small door that looked like a closet but it was a FURNACE and was filthy! Picture attached. Took a walk to get a snack from the dirty and 3/4 empty vending machine and got charged twice for Doritos that didn’t dispense. Extremely loud music continued as of 10:00PM that I have taken a video of. Very pretentious and disgusted by this hotel will never stay again
During our recent three-night stay at YOTEL in Manhattan, we experienced a mix of surprises and conveniences. The room was notably compact, which took us by surprise, and we initially encountered some difficulties with the lighting. Upon our late arrival, we found that the automatic check-in was unavailable after 10 PM, but the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, making the process smooth. The staff also assisted us in accessing the terrace for photos, which we appreciated. Our room was clean, and the vending machines by the elevator were convenient and functional. However, the elevators had long wait times, especially around check-out. Additionally, the revolving door was roped off for our entire stay, and we were unsure of the reason. Overall, the staff's friendliness and the cleanliness of the room were highlights of our stay. I hope this captures your experience accurately!
Furniture in rooms worn out, showing damage
Place was amazing
I love that. I’m thinking to booking my next stay at the same hotel.
The rooms are old and falling apart.
View was amazing!
PARKING: They do have parking BUT is limited and is ONLY VALET service but Yotel will provide discount. We decided to park a block away at MPG on 42nd St (Great 24hr parking garage btw!) and were able to access our vehicle freely anytime, especially arriving really early in the morning. RESTAURANT: We ordered the spinach artichoke flatbread and fries and we were quite impressed. Fries were soft yet crispy!! Yum! Hotel Room: We stayed in the First Class Corner Queen room. Nice big windows for view of NJ side. Right across from another apartment building on north side. It was VERY NOISY with sirens and honking!!! So if you are staying here, bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Expected to be in great quality shape from the photos but there are some minor things structural wise. The towel warmer rack was a plus!!! No minifridge :( Staff were nice. Housekeeping was great and speedy with our request. Overall, was alright. Just expensive for 2 nights on weekend close to christmas! Room WAS more spacious than other hotels though!
Room was very tiny but my stay for the night was good. Wish there was access to a microwave but we worked it out.
My bedroom was not peoperly clean . My bed wasnt made well found several hair and jewelry that wasnt mine. Plus thw additional $95 dollars i had to pay in taxes which i wasnt aware of really upsets me because why wasnt that included in the fee while booking. Overall okay stay but will not return.
Terrible Stay
This was a terrible stay at this hotel. The hotel was in such poor condition, the room was falling apart and needed alot maintenance work. We checked out early and want a refund for this stay as we did not spend an hour in this hotel. It was unsanitary and dirty.
A band played most of the night during our stay close to our room. Small room , No staff interaction . Very basic room . I liked the head of the bed raised up. Not near tourist attraction as I would have liked.
Thank you. This place was nice and the views offered were beautiful.
Short stay used the hotel for overnight.
Demoralizing experience
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay. The room amenities were in poor condition: the bed, towel warmer, mirror lighting, and water dispenser were all not working. Given that we travel frequently for both lectures and business, this was particularly disappointing. Due to these issues and the high cost, we will not be choosing YOTEL for our future stays.
It was a unique stay…
Staff was friendly and helpful
It’s awesome stay
no where to put your clothes, hard to get to your room with lots of people blocking walkways. not exactly times square but rather hells kitchen. never again.
Room was sold to someone else
What I booked and paid for. I did not get.
Unique place to stay
Convenient to Javits Center: unique and simple format; YOBOT for luggage was great; stayed here twice and will stay again
great
The room was really small but it was clean and cozy. Good walking distance from Times Square, just dress warm. The restaurant was the highlight for me. The food was really good. It’s a good social atmosphere.
good
The property is really tired. Everything in the room was scuffed, dirty, or mildewed. There were perpetually people smoking outside. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Far exceeded my expectations - rooms were small, but this isn't a negative - actually I would say they were efficient. Perfect for business travel
First impressions are always important, staff at the front desk don’t give you a warm welcome at all. Barely even willing to make eye contact and continuing conversations with colleagues whilst you wait to be looked after. Staff who take care of the bags were great. Room had a very strong smell of weed one evening, someone in a nearby room clearly smoking. When mentioned to staff the impression was tell someone who actually cares and nothing they can do. Rooms fine, although someone expecting to be in Times Square will be disappointed. Fortunately we didn’t want to be and picked it due to its convenient location
Loved the room! The only thing that was awful was the elevator situation!
This is a fun property. Run by technology, it was interesting checking ourself in and watching the luggage arm work. The rooms are full of that new technology that we've learned to embrace. We enjoyed our stay and most definitely be back.
No fuss, just kind of worked. Would recommend.
I love the Yotel concept, small and convenient. Automated checkin is so easy. The room was clean and compact and feels like a space capsule. Love it. As for the surroundings, who likes the Times Square area? It’s so crowded and smelly.
Really small and dirty
Great mattress and pillows!
Ok
Didn't expect the room to be as small as it was but other than that it was fine
What I specifically liked is how close you are to many of the main attractions to see in downtown by walking and even if it’s a little too much of a walk, the metro transportation is close by as well!
Heated towels
Accessibility to the city
As a solo traveler or couples, this is definitely a solid choice for hotels, if you can score a window room you're gonna get one of the best views imaginable. The hotel is within walking distance from Times Square and the subway which came in handy when I wanted to explore Manhattan/Brooklyn. Rooms are compact however I personally prefer smaller rooms over rooms with too much free space, but I know people may think otherwise. The hotel itself is sleek and particularly modern which gives off a lovely vibe, especially the balcony on the 4th floor where guests can get drinks/etc. Only issue I had was having to change rooms since the shower started leaking, which drowned the entire room's floor, however upon telling the desk they got the engineers to check it out and eventually got me a room 12 floors above my old one, which I couldnt complain about at all. Overall its down to personal preference when it comes to room sizes, but Id absolutely recommend it to others solely for its location, convenience and comfort.
Had a conference at Javits so this was super convenient. Room is small but clean and very comfortable.
Disappointed.
Having stayed here some years back, we decided to stay again as it worked for where we needed to be in Manhattan. Since our previous stay the hotel has gone downhill. It’s tatty and not maintained well, the light in the bathroom was broken, no lights other than the led tv surround light or reading lights. Room was not cleaned daily, you can hear every time a nearby door is closed from the room. On checking out the luggage machine storage was broken so we were forced to pay to store luggage at $3 dollars an item, we don’t carry cash so forced to use ATM with a further charge of $5. Poor form considering the machine is broken and told to use at own risk. Staff mostly seemed ok but a couple seemed rude. I think the fact that they charge a resort fee with really no benefits and such poor service/quality is unjustified. I wouldn’t stay again, have stayed in far better manhattan hotels.
First time staying at the yotel. All was great and I enjoyed my stay until the very last moment when I was due to check out. All of a sudden, my room door lock stopped working and my items got locked in the room for over 40 minutes. This delayed my journey and maintenance had to come and manually unlock the door after several attempts to get assistance from the front desk. I went up and back down over 4 times until I finally got help. Not happy about this at all.
The fitness was nice and the rooms got cold enough to sleep comfortably
Location is great. Photos of property are very nice, actual property needs an update. Seems old and rundown. Beds are so so at best. Bathroom doors don't close all the way. Buffet is over priced, but it is New York.
Hair in between the sheets of the bed Curtains did not work sound proof was BS pretty much single handily ruins our vacation of New York By far the worst hotel stay any of the many hotels we ever stayed at we won’t even use Expedia again for their false advertisement
Location
If you’re going to the Javitt Center for any reason this is the place to stay: the cost, the cleanliness, the service and the views and the ease getting around the city from such a prime location
Everything was great, although the room might need fresh paint.
Can do better
Nice location, nice display of amenities, but can be better. Cleanliness not so great stains on curtains, broke faucet knobs, stains on chairs. No ice available on the floor. But overall friendly staff, and fair service.
Place is to cramped, definitely not worth the price. Bathroom sink was disgusting had mole on the side. Don’t like the idea that u have to move the bed up and down
I loved this place. I had a few questions prior to our visit and Jorge was quick to answer and super helpful. The location is great, the room was clean and quiet, and the staff was so friendly. I will definitely be back when visiting the city!
YOTEL is NOTEL. Take my advice and spend a little bit more to stay in a nicer area of NY. This is on the outskirts of Times Square and not convenient to anything but the noise of Lincoln Tunnel. The heat in our room was stuck on and wasn’t fixed for over six hours after harassing management for it. No offer of compensation for our discomfort and inconvenience other than a 25 percent off voucher for a future stay at NOTEL. Zero customer service other than the lovely maintenance manager who fixed our heater who likely wasn’t informed of our complaint until hours later. Super disappointing experience for our last night in NY. Should have made a run for it when we arrived. Oh and the blanket is a cheap sheet. You get what you pay for and customer service is obsolete in 2024 unfortunately.
i enjoy staying there. but at times even though it looks like theres a lot of staff available, whenever you call, it takes forever to get anyone.
Yotel…”your”tel
Great location to all the places we were going to see. Loved our personal deck with oversized tub/hot tub.
The towel warmer was broken and the luggage robot almost ate my bags
Great!
