Not Good....

A very dated hotel in need of decoration and upgrade. The room, apparently was deluxe however there was nothing deluxe about it. Very old furniture, tired decoration - think 1980 and you have it. Staff were friendly but arrived at 8.50pm, told the restaurant closed at 9 so couldn't order any food. Breakfast was very basic - not even any juices because the machine was broken. Couldnt someone have bought some juice and emptied into a jug for all? Overall just very very poor.

The Staff was so helpful as there was not a/c in the room but they did provide a fan for our sleeping comfort. (We’re from Texas, so we bring the heat with us), the dinner was great at the on-site restaurant and we’ll definitely go back if in that part of Germany again.

Be careful, the pictures are lying. We chose this hotel because the room looked very nice on the pictures. The room we received was old, dirty, the sheets on the beds had stain like mold and we had to ask to change them. On our arrival the person at the reception didn’t say hello, she only said that the checkin was at 3PM and that we had to come back later. We booked a room for 2adults and 2 children and they gave us only 2 towels and 2 duvets for 1 persons. When we asked for one more duvet, the person at the reception didn’t understand why we needed another one… The WiFi was terrible and the bathroom looked like they haven’t renovate it since 1970!!! The only good point is that the beds are very comfortable. There is also a good Asian buffet restaurant across the street. We wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Very convenient place, nice , quite, great and polite staff.

Useful pitstop, basic and somewhat tired

This was more for location than anything else and for us it was good in terms of that. Kassel itself is lovely with plenty on offer. The hotel felt as though it was embarking on, or in need of an update. It was clean, as you’d expect, but felt tired somewhat. On reflection we chose the Wyndham name, and while we didn’t have any issues we did see a number of better options in the area.

Rooms were fine and bed was comfortable. I was on 6th floor and had no Wifi signal or water in the shower. Not sure if this was just for the top floor.

The breakfast buffet was great. Although a bit dated, the interior decor was quite nice. We didn’t like the ground floor/parking lot level rooms they gave us. The hotel location was convenient for us and easy to find.

The staff were excellent marks on the walls and bathrooms a bit shabby Expedia photos look waaaay nicer

Both rooms no lacks, in one room no tea and coffee, in the toilet no soap and shampoo.

First, I would like to compliment A. Marshall, she went above and beyond, to make my trip flawless and safe. She greeted me every evening when she was on duty, with a warm hello and big smile, upon my return. She assisted me with taxis and train travel, made my trip hassle free, she spoke perfect English & German. She is GREAT AT HER JOB, i wish her the best in life.

The car park was on site secure We had travelled a long way and chosen this hotel for on site restaurant and bar, both were closed.

When I booked my stay in Feb. 2022 it was to use the pool as a mid-way break during my long trip to Germany. When I arrived, I was told that in March 2022 they closed the pool permanently. The point of my stay was now gone. The cost of the taxi from the Hauptbanhof to this hotel is 22.5 Euros, and it was a waste of my day, completely, before seeing Documenta downtown. Unfortunately, the bar and hotel restaurant are also closed. There is a vending machine if you want to buy wine or beer. The restaurant across the street was nice, with a huge outdoor patio, but painfully slow service. The staff at the hotel are nice however and the room really clean and fresh (white walls). There is no AC in the room but they provided a fan because it was a super hot day.

Very poor service at check in.

3 star older hotel- clean and conveniently located

I stayed at Wyndham Garden Kassel during a business trip. The hotel seems to be older, but you can tell the staff is doing their best to keep it clean. The furniture is old and the beds are not the most comfortable, but room service cared about making it nice each day. The check in process was simple and the employee was friendly and helpful. The room doesn't have many outlets to charge your decvices, and actually none are located next to the bed. But for a short stay (3 nights for me) it was manageable. I didn't book breakfast at the hotel, however there is a grocery store right across the street with a bakery in the front that also sells fresh coffee. For dinner we went to Cafe Del Sol, which is also across the street, (2min walk from the hotel). This restaurant has great food, friendly service and a nice interior decor. It kind of upgraded the stay at the hotel. The location is easy to get to from the freeway and I will stay there again.

Decent hotel but dated rooms

Decent large hotel in Kassel. Conveniently located just off the autobahn with a fuel station and restaurants across the road. The hotel reception is nice. Room was clean and comfortable but looks dated now. Free bottle of water in the room was a nice touch. We stayed in August when it was 34 degrees outside and the biggest let down was the air con which was like something from 1990 and is hidden on the wall behind curtain. There is a large car park but annoyingly there is a charge per night, seems stupid when you can park on the surrounding roads for free. We parked a large vehicle and trailer on the road just outside the hotel for free so don't waste your money on parking.

Nice hotel with a super great restaurant.

Adequate and inexpensive.

Hotel was adequate. The curtains needed washing and the wallpaper was very dated but had just been painted over. The aircond units were really old but they sort of worked ok. We asked for adjoining rooms and the staff said they had accommodated the request, except our rooms were not adjoining to one another but someone elses - lol!! The reception staff seemed very unfamiliar with their own hotel layout. The wi-fi was unreliable and ran out at midnight so we had to keep asking for a new code. We had to pay extra for parking which was disappointing for a 4 star hotel. The best and most helpful members of staff were the restaurant staff, i.e. the waitress and the chef and the food was nice. Breakfast was expensive but there is a service station across the road with a cafe and sandwich bar, serving nice breakfasts at half the price. The hotel is set in a pretty and quiet residential location, not too far from the city centre. As long as your room overlooks the car park it was quite but there is a main highway on the other side, which could be noisy. The pool and sauna were clean and well maintained.

Lovely hotel

This is a lovely hotel, good for me as it’s close to my work.

Just what i needed

Hotel was just what I needed where it was not too fancy, but had a conformable bed and close proximity to where I needed to be for my business trip. The room was a little warm where the air conditioner needed to work a little hard to keep the room a decent temperature, but it was still fine. I'll stay there again in the future.

You deserve better!

First impressions were not bad. Fantastic pool & friendly receptionists. Then it went downhill:- our room overlooked 2 rubbish skips, the wi-fi and electricity were not working in the AM. Oh...and the hotel is next to a busy road & noisy even with the windows closed. It was a toss-up between unbearable heat or constant noise/ pollution from the road. The surrounding area is very low rent. Seriously, the pool is the best thing about this hotel. Oh and the night-time receptionist who lent me his personal phone when the internet went down as I had a crucial business matter to deal with. They also charge you 5 Euros for parking, even though you're in the middle of an out of town shopping area. There must be better options in Kassel...

Below average for 4 star rated hotel

Our room was outdated by 20 years. The carpet was discussing. We've stayed at many hotels that were 4 star rated and this one was by far the worst. On the contrary, the staff were very pleasant and helpful and there is a huge car park on premises, charged at 5 euros per day...which is a fair price to pay for the added convenience. Overall, below average for 4 star standard.

brilliant breakfast and a good sized room

Easy to find. Noisy young turks racing around a bit nearby but that isn't the hotels fault. HUGE room service breakfast! We only ordered for one but they brought for two so it ended up doing for lunch and dinner as well, so we definitely didn't mind paying the extra :)

No air conditioning in room.

Carpet was very dirty.In the morning some was drilling form 8:00am. Nice lady on reception.Good customers service.We did stuck in traffic and the hotel have changed dates with no charges.Thanks for that ;-)

Only there for 1 night. Complete hotel seems in need of refurbishment. Carpets in elevator and hallways looking a bit worn. Restaurant and food were very good and staff helpful.

Would stay again

This hotel is very similar to hotels one would see in the United States (it is a Wyndham, after all). Not a typical German-esque style hotel. The hotel itself is lovely, although not as modern as I thought it would be. It has a 1970s vibe (decor) to it, but isn't run down. Rooms are tidy, clean, and average in size (comparable to an airport hotel). We ate dinner at the Queen's Garden restaurant in the hotel, which was pretty good. Child menu prices were surprisingly low, and the adult menu wasn't too bad on the wallet. The hotel is right off of the auto-route, making it convenient to get out of town when the time comes. Not much to see near by, but there is a small shopping plaza across the street that has a Netto market if you need anything, and there's also a restaurant, and McDonald's within walking distance, too. My only complaint is that the staff didn't explain parking. I knew it was an additional fee (not much), but I didn't know we had to have our ticket validated until we tried getting back in after exploring for the day. Not a huge deal, just clarification at check in would've been nice.

One night after many

Only stayed one night this trip but have stayed there many times since the mid nineties (Queens Hotel). Hotel outside condition needs sprucing up and the room smelled old.

Stay away.

Bathrooms are dirty. Entrance its difficult to find because there is no evident entrance to drive to, just a bunch of outdoor plastic furniture blocking the entrance. You have to take a ticket at gate to get into the parking lot and it's not clear why. We got there late and we we were looking forward to leaving as soon as possible.

Don't bother

Way in need of serious renovation, at 2:00pm check-in the lobby reeked of last nights beer and cigarettes. Routine maintenance appears to be completely lacking. Front desk computer was inoperative at check-out.

I've stayed at this hotel on 2 or 3 different occasions and the staff has always been very helpful and courteous and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel...

Very smart and clean hotel

We go every year and were surprised but pleased that they had refurbished the bedrooms with laminate flooring in the rooms and new décor. It made it feel more modern. Breakfast was self service with a wide range of foods to pick from. The hotel restaurant served good food, a little expensive, and not recommended if you had children, more a grown ups menu.

Great value stopover

Great value stopover on our way home. Pool open until 10.30pm & nice bar with nice friendly staff who happy to speak English & even gave the kids lollies when arriving. Couldn't fault it except no kettle in the room so had to go to main desk where you can help yourself & don't drink the bottled water in the room unless you fancy paying €3.20 for it. Plus extra €5 for parking.

I will not stay at this hotel again. Thanks for wonderful staffs help. However this old hotel was way old. The first room's air conditioning unit was totally broken. We got a newer room. It did not help much at night either. Very disappointed to know it was rated a 4 star before.

Never ever gonna stay in this hotel again!

It will never happen that I stay in this hotel again! Durring hot summer the AC was not working, every other 5 min the maintenance guy knock the door and couldn't fix it! The mini bar was empty and you had to walk to another floor to get a water from vending machine! The shampoo bottle was empty and you will find about it when you are already in the bath! The worse experience ever!

Clean, efficient, with easy access.

This hotel sits just on the outskirts of the city giving easy access to points of interest and business locations. Although the hotel sits along side a busy road noise is not a problem. A very professional staff is helpful and quite willing to assist. There is no language barrier. Our room was clean and well maintained. I would willingly stay here again.

Not liked it so much

The deluxe room didn't look as in the pictures on the internet. The furniture was old, with faded colors of green and red. Most of it was outdated. The room was big. The sofa dirty with stains. Bed linen were very simple. We were 4 people. Not all of us got same blankets - 1 was too thin. When soap finished in the bathroom, it was not refilled by the maid. Handicapped access is weird - if you enter the main entrance and reach reception, you have stairs to descend to the elevator. You can enter through a secondary entrance (which has a 'no entry' sign') to reach the elevator without steps, but from there you have stairs to reach reception... Parking is also weird - each time you enter parking, you take a ticket. Before exiting parking, you stamp it in reception and then insert it in the machine to get out. Each time you enter parking, you need to make the drill all over again. Wi-Fi was free of charge. Breakfast was very very rich - besides the usual, there were omelet, sausages, bacon, chopped onion, mushrooms, crepes, cottage cheese, herring with pickles, yogurts, croissants, fresh fruits and fruit salad. Only thing missing was a coffee machine. Although we booked the room for a price including breakfast, we were charged at the end of the stay for 12.5 euros per person per day (upon arrival they just pointed where breakfast is, without saying they intend to charge for it). This is still being checked at the moment. Hotel is 4km from Kassell and 8 km from Wilhelmshohe park.

For a work hotel its good

This hotel is fine as an overnight, working person's hotel. However if you were having a holiday I wouldn't recommend it so highly. Breakfast selection is very good. But the rooms and overall state are very tired. Its not falling down but I am not sure how it rates as a four star hotel. The staff are very very helpful and friendly. Lots of parking, but you pay for this, and breakfast is not included in the room rate.

Great hotel

Good location right off the motorway with a large parking area and friendly staff. The room was quite spacious and had a good internet connection. Definitely will stay here again next time we're in the Kassel area.

Good for an overnight stop only

The hotel was a little epensive for where you are, but we weren't that impressed with the city of Kassel anyway, so it didn't really matter. It was just an overnight stop for us. Wouldn't stay much longer.

Perfectly ok but boring and stuck in the 1980s

This hotel is one of many perfectly ok hotels in Kassel, a town is desperate need of a modern 21st century hotel. The room was spacious and functional, albeit a bit boring and dated, with a good and clean bathroom. The hotel seems vast with many large nondescript areas which seem stuck in the 1980s with displays of jewellery and handbags. Make sure you get a room to the front, away from the busy road, as it's too noisy the other side to open the window/door at night.

Meh, just okay

we went to Kassel for documenta, of course. This hotel was reasonably priced, plus had a pool/sauna and accepted pets. The pool was not in service and the halls smelled funny. Additionally our bathroom was not so clean, someone else's hair still in the moldy tub....gross! The bedding was good enough and there was a nice new tv and a useful but old mini fridge. I you have a car it is close enough to the art happenings.

Staff responsiveness to clients

I had a few issues that needed attention (i.e.water pressure in bathroom needed review, requested tea and coffee facilities in my room, a light globe needed replacing, asked for some cosmetic supplies) and the staff ensured that these requirements were fulfilled during the first 24hours of my stay. I was notably impressed. The reception staff were accessible, professional and most responsive. Particualrly as they endevoured to communicate with me in English and were most considerate.

Slotts-Motel Kassel

Slottshotellet på bilderna visade sig vara ett Motell med pool. Helt ok läge, nära Autobahn men rummen såg inte ut som på bilderna.

Das war 1 Tag nur als Übernachtung gedacht.Der Bad war mit Silberfische. Das Glas im Bad war benutzt worden. Frühstück waren die Gemüse von gestern nicht frisch gewesen und der Käse war trocken gewesen.

Fint hotel til prisen, ligger i passende afstand til motorvej. Så det er nemt at komme til hotellet. Desværre var der mange gæster med hunde som satte sit præg på lydniveauet.

Bra övernattningsställe utmed vägen på genomresan. Bokat rum för tre personer fanns handdukar för två. Lite väl svalt i rummet. Bra parkering framför hotellet, kostar 8€/natt.

Fint stop lige ved motorvejen

Super beliggenhed i forhold til motorvejen når man bare skal have et sted at sove på vejen. Der var desværre en del støj meget sent på aftenen og igen meget tidligt om morgenen.

Ok voor zakelijke overnachting

De kamer ziet er zeker niet zo uit als op de foto, zo was het wellicht eens, die sfeer proef je overal in het hotel. Op de lakens zaten (make up) vlekken. Als je het licht in de badkamer aan doet moet je tot 10 tellen voor het gaat branden (heel oud type energiezuinige lampen?) Toen ik melde dat het knopje "naar beneden" om de lift te "roepen" niet werkte was de reactie: o dan moet je op naar boven drukken (geeft wel een indruk denk ik) Heb er verder prima geslapen, bed is goed, prima douche, prima ontbijt. Geen mogelijkheid tot laden (dingetje voor Nederlanders).

Ret slidt hotel og ikke særlig inspirerende morgenmad. Men hotellet ligger super bekvemt, hvis man bare skal have en overnatning ned igennem Tyskland.

Leider scheint das Hotel "Wyndham Garden" ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen zu sein. Manche Knöpfe der Aufzüge funktionierten nicht und Alles wirkte ein wenig abgegriffen. Darüber hinaus war die schöne Bar in der Lounge über den ganzen Aufenthalt geschlossen. Ansonsten wäre hier deutlich mehr möglich gewesen.

Personal Top!! Bedingung im Frühstück Bereich durch eine etwas ältere Dame ist eine Katastrophe, sehr unfreundlich!!! Schade für alles Besucher und auch Mitarbeiter.

Dejligt hotel, lækkert værelse. Fremragende seng. Dejlig morgenmad i rigelige mængder. Lækker mad i restauranten. Masser af faciliteter på hotellet. Central placering, nemt at komme til/fra. Desværre en konstant lugt af kloak/afløb uanset hvor du er på hotellet. Selv når man er i restauranten, sniger lugten sig ind. Så dette trækker desværre ned på et ellers fantastisk ophold.

Havde købt rummet på Hotels men skulle betale for parkering i receptionen. Her blev jeg mødt at en sur dame som ikke matchede den gode behandling man fik i restauranten. Øv.

Die Bilder und Realität in diesem fall sind ganz anders. Ich finde das Hotel. Die zimmer war nicht auf dem Niveau was man denkt. Der Staff war freundlich Frühstück wahl war in Ordnung

Zimmer war nicht gesaugt, fremde Haare im Waschbecken, Toilette müsste mal wieder intensiver gereinigt werden. Die Eingangs Etage mit Rezeption roch immer stark unangenehm (evtl. Urin). Zimmer in sehr altem Zustand.

Personal an der Rezeption war nicht besonders freundlich. Vielmehr eher wortkarg und man musste ihr alles aus dem Mund ziehen. Das Hotel hat schon bessere Tage gesehen. Unser Aufenthalt im Hotel der gleichen Kette in Wetzlar war viel besser.

Rezeption superfreundlich. Zimmer recht laut und warm leider kein Ventilator oder Klimaanlage. Betten weich und bequem. Mobiliar tadellos, Einrichtung eher lieblos. Badezimmer hat die besten Zeiten hinter sich, da half auch nicht die Businessclaas. Handtücher und Bettwäsche sauber wie man es erwartet, Sauberkeit in den Räumen, hier sollte das Houskeeping nochmal genauer hinsehen. Frühstück hoteltypisch, unspektakulär, Personal aufmerksam und freundlich.

Fin og praktisk beliggenhed ikke la fy fra motorvejen. 8€ for parkering på hotellets egen parkering. Ok morgenmad med udemærket blandet udvalg. Alt for meget tobaksrøg inde på hotellet, uklart om det kom udefra eller nogle der røg inde. Vi var familien på 4, men fik kun håndklæder til 2 personer. hotellets restaurant var ikke åben om aftenen, da vi ankom ved 20tiden. Heldigvis var der en udemærket restaurant/bar på den anden side af vejen med et internationelt velsmagende udbud og venligt personale. Sengefordelingen til 2 voksne og 2 børn (7-10) var lige småt nok, værelset havde ellers en fin størrelse. Vi kunne godt ha brugt et køleskab eller Aller helst en lille fryser.. hotellet ser lidt gammelt ud, men hyggeligt.

Déçue ! Pour la première fois je réserve sur hôtels.com.... Pour la première fois je visite l hôtel... J ai payé lors de mon check-out pour ma nuitée et ils m ont encore débité le compte bancaire via l application hôtels.com! Aucun retour de l hôtel, et soit disant hôtels.com ne peut rien y faire ! Une honte ! Tout cela pour un hôtel médiocre !

Smidigt och lättillgängligt med bra frukost

Trevligt hotell i utkanten av stan, med bar, litet gym och bra frukost utbud.

Fint nok

Vi bookkede hotellet 2 gange (som stopover) og vi synes at hotellet var fint nok til overnatning. Vi bookede et business værelse men fik vi et bedre værelse. Morgenmad er fint nok. Der er rigelige p-plads. Nogle personale er søde men nogle var sure og smiler ikke.

Resepsjonisten var svært hjelpsom. Hun var utrolig imøtekommende og tipset oss om en restaurant som passet for datteren vår og oss. Supert!

Good hotel for overnight stay if travelling.

Fijn ontvangst, goed ontbijt. Kleine tweepersoonsbedden (in de vierpersoonskamer) en niet zo schoon, maar voor ons oké voor één nachtje.

Så fint ud da vi kom, men mangelfuld renovering (gamle lamper, der ikke blev brugt burde tages ned, udskiftning af diverse småting) mangelfuld rengøring, spindelvæv i loft og beskidte kanter på badeværelset
