Lovely stay
Nicely situated hotel for Warwick University. Room was spacious and comfortable. Excellent buffet breakfast with helpful staff.
Worst night sleep
Worst night sleep ever. I think the room we had was above the kitchen pot wash and all we heard until 12:30am was banging and bashing. Which then started again early in the morning. The room was tired and the tv didn’t work twice so we had to get someone to fix it. However saying all that the hotel communal areas were lovely. Breakfast was great and the cellar bar was relaxed and welcoming. A nice hotel but that room shouldn’t be used for guests due to its location.
The spa and health facilities were amazing rooms were great
Awful
The room was as noisy as a pub cellar/kitchen. It wasn’t cleaned. There was often no water pressure and no hot water.
Very happy with the hotel
A family get together and this hotel is convenient and has been good
HOYs visit.
Lovely stay. Pleasant surroundings easy parking. Nice room courteous staff. Fab breakfast. A lovely ending to our HOYs visit. Thanks
Pretty disappointed
The grounds look nice when you arrive but my room took me ages to find as it was through a restaurant and in a different building and has no lift for heavy bags. The room was also tiny and had an extract vent or some sort of AHU outside the window which was an eyesore. The worst part was the noise. I’m guessing the restaurant Kitchen was below me was making a racket until 2330 ish at night and then started again around 0600. It was so loud in my room that I couldn’t sleep till they left and in the morning I got woken up.
The hotel is nice but the stay was average with staff very unhelpful in multiple ways. Spa facility is not a spa at all it is a hotel pool but is sold as a spa day, not at all relaxing and half of the facilities were out of order. Restaurant staff had zero knowledge regarding allergies and very little care either.
I e location friendly staff

Great Hotel
Great stay with great service. Good value for money.
Good location
Good location with access to motorways, nice friendly staff and good choice of food and drinks. Rooms slightly noisy, no air-con (but understandable given the age/design) and a dripping toilet! Would stay again
Spa is terrible staff in restaurant ignored us
All the staff were lovey with the exception of the check-in clerks. The one who greeted us upon arrival was less than warm and welcoming and another who I consulted about the pool hours for children told me they actually try to discourage children staying at the hotel. One reception clerk was friendly and helpful. Dinning and housekeeping staff were very nice. Propois beautiful but no where to walk as the whole property is dedicated to golf.
Poor
Two beds pushed together. Bedside lights not working. Pool freezing. Breakfast cold 10 mins after opening
Not as good as the pictures
Incredibly uncomfortable bed, smaller than a double. The receptionist on check in didn't know how many golf courses they had, and the receptionist on check out didn't even look at me, let alone ask me how our stay was. The main building seemed to be up to date and clearly where all pictures were taken, our room was small, cold, dated, uncomfortable and really disappointing.
Friendly staff and great customer service.
Great Breakfast and nice rooms
We were travelling with two miniature dachshunds- £25 per night per dog was excessive- golf course very pretty but garden room was very compact but clean
Lovely surroundings but not the best hotel to stay in as needs to make some improvements. Outdated, poor breakfast, inexperience staff, no fridge in the room, etc.
Windmill Village
I arrived and checkin was OK, if not a little busy and slow; 1 member of staff, 7 individuals booking in. Nevertheless, the chap on duty was polite and helpful. Room I was issued smelt of cat wee and had a constant drip (from where I know not!) but I was re-roomed as soon as I raised it - great! New room was better but only one plug worked, so I spent a fair bit of time moving the kettle about so that I could have a cuppa. After a lukewarm bath, I had dinner in the restaurant. OK but not brilliant. Staff in restaurant pleasant enough and generally very helpful. Retired to the bar and tried the gin - that was excellent as was the lady who served it. Sleep not brilliant because room too hot, so uncomfortable night. Breakfast good. Checkout - dreadful! When I went to checkout the chap on duty said that there was a balance to settle and tried to charge me £70 for dinner. I had paid for my dinner (£45) in the restaurant and at no point had I given my room number to any member of staff. Rather than deal with it, he implied I was lying and asked me to list everything I'd had for dinner, Even after producing my receipts, he continued to embarass me before the growing queue of guests waiting to check out. After concluding that an error "might" have occured in the restaurant, he proceeded to question my payment for the room generally. I asked to speak to the duty manager and this request was refused and I had to demand this a second time. I have never been so poorly treated before.
Profession and friendly service from all who greeted us. Lovely little touches such as complementary fruit plate and soft drink. Towels and bedding super-soft. Food excellent. Will look to stay next year when we attend primary care conference at the NEC.
We had a lovely time. I chose this hotel because of the swimming pool for my children. Unfortunately they were not able to swim at all because of the chlorine levels. Apart from that, all good!
No tell motel, not premiere
This hotel is not at all up to snuff with other local experiences I have had at other BW hotels.
First Amy at the breakfast is very hard working girl and should be recognised, myself and partner watch her we couldn't hold it but asked for her name. Now, hotel should make sure they have the correct head count for breakfast. Waited 15mins no food. Breakfast was pretty waiting other thanthat hotel was a good sleeping place. Will return
Not for me but nothing overly wrong.
Helpful receptionist, rooms ae barn/stable conversions around the property. Room was clean. Just a bit old fashioned for my taste.
Asked for a disabled room and didn’t get one. There was no hot water in the morning. Hotel wasn’t bothered by it.
Chalet style rooms
Stayed in one of their chalet style rooms which was more than adequate. It was close to a busy road so you could hear it throughout the night. This didn’t stop me sleeping, but if you are a light sleeper it would be worth asking for a room nearer the golf course which would be quieter. Unfortunately the pool was having maintenance, and I had selected the hotel due to this. The restaurant was very pleasant and both dinner and breakfast was good with great service.
I was very pleasantly surprised with this property. I got an out building and it was lovely and quiet and have me a really restless sleep I will be looking to book there again if in the area for work. The spa is really good to I didn't use the gym on this day but would expect it to be good to. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and definitely stay here again..
Enjoyable one-night stay in a cosy motel-type room in the main hotel grounds. The room was very clean and warm. Bed very comfortable. Dinner was well-presented and delicious. Breakfast is a buffet-type with a good selection of hot and cold items. The spa area was clean and tidy. My only complaint would be that the swimming pool is far too cold!
Overall was very pleasant
Pleasant room. Good breakfast.
Banging in the walls, poor breakfast service
Not a great experience to be honest, I booked the windmill as i had another 25 friends staying, we represent a charity as a part of the classic car show, we all have to cover our own expenditure, as i paid £420 for a 3 night stay i believe that i deserved a decent stay with good service, however throughout the 3 night stay there was a banging coming from the bathroom wall (i am a heating engineer and it sounded like heating pipes banging) all night every night, night 1 i had 4 hours sleep night 2, 4 hours sleep, nights 3 no sleep, 4 of my friends were affected in much the same way, i complained every morning to a different receptionist only to be told its a problem with the boiler, repair date unknown, with no real apology or offer of another room or refund etc or any kind gesture, the breakfast was good if you could actually get all of the components for a breakfast at the same time, hot food items always empty, no bread, no pastries, hot drinks arriving after we had finished so on the 3rd morning exasperated by this a couple of us decided to arrive at 7;20 instead of the start of breakfast at 730, only to be quite rudely told off by the restaurant manager for arriving too early, however i did get a full breakfast on day three as i was first in the queue, to be honest several of us ha stayed here for a few years and the service has slipped dramatically, between us we book around 100 rooms a year and we are collectively seeking a new hotel, very dissatisfied
Awful
The seal was already broken on the mineral water in the room. Ran out of breakfast. Dismissive restaurant manager at breakfast who was rude and argumentative. Duty manager was helpful
Nice Hotel
Comfortable decent sized clean room, lovely bed. Reception and restaurant staff very pleasant and professional. Really nice evening meal in restaurant and great selection for breakfast. Will be back when next down in the area.
Excellent
Very friendly staff who made me very welcome
The room was very small The bed was very comfortable The wardrobe was very very small Bathtub was nice and deep The surrounding area was amazing But the room size was crazy too small
Clean, comfortable, and ideal for the price. Would stay there again.
Lovely setting. Liked being able to park outside my room. Decor a little dated but clean and nice amenities. Restaurant was a bit expensive and portion size was very small. Food was well presented and tasty. Restaurant only takes card payments- no cash. Staff were brilliant - excellent customer service.
All good here. Love this hotel. 😌
Disappointing
The room smelt damp. The furniture was old, The walls are very thin and next door we’re celebrating a 60th so I would have thought because the hotel wasn’t full they wouldn’t have put my daughter and I in an adjacent room. We went for breakfast at 9 and even though it finished at 9:30 there was no bacon or croissants. The pool in the morning was so busy, it was pointless having a swim. The lockers in the changing room were damaged. My daughter said the female changing rooms smelt of urine. Overall very disappointing
Executive room with a view !! and unbearablenoise
The executive room had what the details said, however the view of the grounds was of a parking area where a group of say 20 people were smoking. The photo was taken after they left as I would not publicly post a photo with recognisable facesIt was also very close to noise from the bar and also a wedding reception. However after midnight they we clearing into the room next to ours, banging what seemed like large items maybe tables against the wall a few inches from our heads. My husband went to reception and after a while it was sorted but to have that disturbance and a room with no grounds view was really not acceptable. Reception tried to find another room but said they were all on this same corridor , but anything on that corridor not adjacent to a storage facility would have been better. We have been considering this hotel for golf break but are now not sure. As i said within the room all was as advertised and bed comfortable. Also we had a very good meal in the restaurant.
Restaurant excellent
Restaurant food top class and service both at dinner and breakfast excellent. Issues with room key took a lot of our time several times n we were made to feel like our fault even tho told changing system soon. Not eco friendly as bar of soap we opened n used on day 1 replaced day 2! Grounds of hotel beautiful. Didn’t use spa facilities so can’t comment.
Breakfast excellent & starting at 0630 was a great time for a working visit. The walk to the dinning area as limited signage and the menu had limited options at quite expensive prices. Service was good though
Great place for a stopover. Beautiful grounds
Couple of nights away
Room we stayed in, number 24 was a ground floor, but there doesn’t seem to be anything to stop the noise from room above you can hear everything, especially noisy when they just walk across the room, plus the noise from the A46 right outside, if your a light sleeper then this isn’t the hotel for you.. Breakfast is buffet style and staff very good..
I love this hotel - stayed a few times for work meetings, central location but with stunning views over the beautiful golf course. Always have a swim & a steam in the spa area - perfect. Love the bar area with the outside access to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful views. Great food choice being served in the bar as well as the main restaurant.
Rooms need an update, but were clean and bathroom was in excellent condition, plus good hot water. Staff were friendly, helpful. This is hotel is great location for Coventry and surrounding areas.
Love this hotel
We always stop here on our way to Suffolk from the north. Lovely flowers around the hotel, spacious, clean rooms, helpful staff, great breakfast, pool, very affordable- what more could you want?
The accomodation, dining and staff were all excellent. I hope i can return in the future.
Poor and unclean lodge
We were given lodge room 17. The room itself was dirty with many cobwebs in and the shower door full of mould and dirt to the bottom of it. Bed linen was stained and the room had a general smell of dirt and poo
Beautiful Views
Fantastic room upgrade beautiful view of golf course. Food in restaurant was delicious bed was comfortable
Large Yellow stain on duvet second night
The staff were amazing. The only issue is the Wi-Fi connection was not working in the room that was allocated unless you come to reception area. Apart from that everything was great.
Most recommended
Very enjoyable. Very reasonable. Good quality. Good food. Excellent customer service
Great stay
Beautiful hotel, lovely spa and facilities, clean and tidy, the receptionist that was on for our check in and during our first evening stay was great, very helpful. The complimentary drink and fruit platter to the room was a lovely touch. However our stay was a little spoilt by the cleaners pestering us the next morning, our check out was 11am we had a knock at the door before 10am and I explained we would be leaving at 11am for check out (as we had asked to pay extra for late check out which wasn't possible due to the hotel being busy which is absolutely fine and completely understood) however I didnt expect to be pestered by the cleaners again before 10.30am when I'd already explained we were getting ready and would be out at 11am.
Nice property and staff, poor beds and access
Kay at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful in assisting with my access needs and issues. I had booked and indicated access needs but the room assigned was not accessible. Kay did her best and was very apologetic, included breakfast and a discount of our room rate. Unfortunately this properly does not have any real wheelchair accessible rooms. The first room we were assigned had a step in. The 2nd was a twin room with no step in and it had a large bathroom but there was no shower chair for the tub and the room itself was very cramped. The beds were the worst part of the stay besides access, very cheap springy mattresses so not a restful night’s sleep. The property and staff are lovely let down by rooms.
Overall a Lovely hotel. However, the food in the restaurant was not the greatest.
Had a blast staying here oveenight and using the spa facilities. Everyone was supee freindly helpful abs attentive. 10/10 service and food too. Cannot be more happy with my stay.
happy bunny
Fantastic value for money! Facilities good and Breakfast Excellent
Best Western Plus Coventry fantastic stay
Best Western plus Coventry was a great hotel and my stay was fantastic. My room was clean and comfortable, the breakfasts were tasty and the facilities were excellent. I will be coming again.
Good value
Large room in one of the lodges outside of main building . Very comfortable although showing its age a bit . Used leisure facilities - swimming pool good , steam room closed which meant sauna got very full at times . Spa is attached to pool so not hot - a pity . Generally good value for money
A decent place to stay...
Decent place. Food a little expensive in some cases (10 chips for £7 for example, and a starter of 3 x 2inch pieces of lamb kofta on rocket for £7 also) Room fine, shower good. Comfortable, pretty standard.
Great location and service
Nice hotel but is a little dated in the decor, we stayed in the main body of the hotel bit they did have numerous building so perhaps some of them may have been refurbished. That being said it was very clean and the staff were all very friendly and efficient. The restaurant is new and the food for dinner and breakfast was delicious.
Very poor for a room at £110 a night
Arrived at hotel booked a twin room for extra space £17 more got palmed off with a single room. Room was cold so put card in wall to get heat on switch lit up on wall went to bar for hour to allow room to heat came back room still cold heater was switched of on the side of unit. Wore coat for an hour till room was warm enough. In morning there was no hot water at all Complained at reception and asked receptionist if manager would contact me as I was less than happy To date no contact from hotel
Stay was good and staff were very friendly and helpful, unfortunately we couldn’t make the most out of our stay due to the time we have checked in plus we couldn’t make it to the breakfast as we have overslept even though we payed for it. Over all the experience was good.
Relaxing Stay
Enjoyed my stay, slept very well. Service from all the staff was excellent A few things need improving. Heater broken in room, shower leaked on floor and changing rooms for spa and gym need to be refurbished
Unfortunately disappointing
I dislike writing negative reviews, but this time it's much needed. For £200, I stumbled upon the following inconveniences: - shower head that doesn't move (men may not have a problem with this, but ladies will understand - you don't necessarily want to wash your hair every time you shower) - no lightbulb on the night shade - no sockets near the bed I would expect this in a Travelodge, but not pleasantly surprised to see this in a hotel at this price point.
excellent all round.
lovely room, excellent service.
All good except hairdryer was broken
Cold Comfort
No hot water in the shower
Lovely stay
We stay every year. The standard is always high, Friendly staff, lovely surroundings fab breakfast. Highly recommend
Good but not good enough
I really wanted to give it more than 3* because in many ways it is but the things that were not that good were sufficient to knock it down. The hotel in a good location and maintained. The room was well equipped, clean & comfortable with a great view. The staff were very polite and helpful and the chef created some outstanding.dishes in the evening. So why the low rating? The breakfast was a disaster - the hotel in a conference venue so if you didn't get there early then the buffet had been stripped and was not replenished unless you asked for something from a member of the waiting staff (there were no kitchen staff checking stock levels). I don't expect to arrive a hour before closing to find no youghurt, pastries, butter, sausages, cereal bowls and just a few dried out fried eggs, scrambled eggs and rock hard black pudding and a fruit bowl containing 2 apples and an orange. Also, if you bring the wrong bottle of wine, take it off the bill when you bring the right one! I also dont expect to return to my room in the afternoon to find the bed has been "made" by just pulling the duvet up but leaving it almost as crumpled as we left it and the cushions etc left in a heap on the floor. I certainly don't expect to find the bottles, dirty glasses and plates from the day before still stacked on the table. I would expect the benerage tray to have been put back in its palce and the shower gel minature to have been replaced - 1 small bottle between 2 for 2 days is inadequate.
Really good - but main building next time please?
Second visit and this time I stayed in Augusta Lodge. It was fine (although the carpet looked as though it needed a proper clean and I couldn't get the bedside lamps to work) I didn't have time to make use of the pool...but I choose to stay here because of the potential of a swim. Would have loved a view of the golf course as if I had needed the window open the A45 road noise might have kept me awake. Breakfast was really excellent as usual. I shall return...but hopefully to the main building overlooking the golf course.
Great hotel
The hotel exceeded my expectations, lovely friendly lady at the front desk. Really like the hotel style and breakfast was great. I would definitely stay again and would recommend this to anyone coming to Coventry 😊
The room was quite small and noisy. If you want to head into Coventry you have to drive miles before you can turn back, very inconvenient.
Good hotel
My stay was perfect, such a lovely hotel and will stay again, it has such a relaxing feel and the food was amazing, i used the leisure facilities and the pool is lovely, overall i love this hotel and will stay again
The staff were friendly and helpful in the main hotel. The Cellar bar was great for a quick bite and a drink and was good value for money. Our room was the first one on the correct straight off the Reception area and we heard no noise and didn't suffer any disruptions. I used the Spa for a treatment and we used pool a few times during our stay These facilities were great. The pool is a great size and levels of busyness varied depending on the time of day, but the open hours are long enough that everyone can find a suitable time. The hotel is so well placed - we stayed whilst attending the Commonwealth games in Birmingham- and it was a 10 minute drive to the NEC and Resorts World with great, easy parking. The only flaw to our stay was the golf. Having tried to book for a round - one of the key reasons we chose the hotel - the gentleman couldn't have tried harder to deter us. We fully appreciate that Club members take priority but felt it is important that as a hotel offering this facility, the opportunity to use it should be better. The gentleman we dealt with didn't seem keen for my son and partner to play and in the end we walked away with no tee time and instead went to a golf club a few miles away in Stonebridge.
The hotel looks lovely from the outside, the grounds are lovely and the parking was fine. Inside is a little dated when it comes to the room. But very clean and spacious. The staff need to be improved. Check in took quite a long while, but the staff member was very friendly. We realised we didn't have any hot water in the room at the end of the night when needing a bath/shower after a sweaty day at the commonwealth games. We rang down to reception and they said they would send someone up to have a look. 45 minutes later I called back up as it was approaching midnight and u needed to be up early. What I then received was probably the worst customer experience of my life. I explained no one had been up and we've got no hot water. The member of staff on reception, a male, said "I have just started my shift, I've got work coming out of my ears, I'm short staffed, the computer system has had an issue so it will have to wait until morning." A real Basil Fawlty moment. When I told him that wasn't my issue he told me to stop shouting and raising my voice (I really wasn't, my partner in the same room didn't even hear what I said properly) I asked for a room swap and he said the hotel was fully booked so couldn't swap us. Even though the hotel was quiet and a half full car park. I asked if I could have some compensation or a refund and he explained I would have to speak to Expedia and slammed the phone down. Probably the worst customer experience I have ever had.
Overall good stay
Clean room and facilities. Room however way to hot with heat coming from under the floor. Clothes left in a suitcase came out hot! Breakfast ok but service for tea and coffee slow as well as replacement of food on the buffet.
Nice hotel but avoid bedroom 4 at all costs
This is a nice hotel with a golf course and spar etc. Just like it is shown to be on the website. However beware don't accept bedroom 4. It is the size of a boxroom with no television and an awful view (see below). The extractor fan made a significant until late in the evening and again early in the morning. When I asked for a portable TV (as there was no sign of a television having been in the room) I was told they don't have one. After complaining about room I was told that I could have a free breakfast. This was not the quality of room that I booked some eight months earlier. No apologies given or offered even when I raised with reception on checking out of the hotel.
Convenient for Coventry. The breakfast was unimaginative, poor, most of the hot food over cooked & tasteless.
Nice hotel, large and nice pool
Nice hotel, very large, very nice pool and good breakfast. Room super basic but comfortable, nice shower. Room a little dated, but all good
Good night sleep
We’re allowed to check in at 9am as was attending the commonwealth games and left the car at the hotel. We didn’t arrive back until 11.30pm so went to the bar for a drink. We missed out on the complimentary fruit platter but had plaid tea n coffee in the room. The bed was very big and comfortable, the room was big and very well decorated. Breakfast was a little disappointing as so many people turned up at the same time and were stood around waiting for items to be topped up. I think the hotel should give people time slots, there was a lovely big breakfast room so room for everyone to sit just a shame all stood waiting for the breakfast. I would still stay at this hotel again
1 of the worst Hotels - 4 stars? Maybe 1 or 2!
The bad: 1. 1st room given (no 18) was damp/mouldy (BAD smell) - 1/2 of 1 wall was crumbling with dampness. 2. 2nd room was ok, except for a few wall plugs and the USB ports not working. We told the front desk, but nothing was done. Room safe was also locked. They opened it, only for the batteries to die 2 days later. Does the hotel NOT perform a check of the rooms before it admits guests? 3. Cleanliness - room: shocking. Stayed 6 nights. Complained twice that housekeeping was not vacuuming the room. After each time, they vacuumed, but only once. I.e., you must complain to have to have your room vacuumed? The bathroom was not cleaned (toilet seat and toilet and bathroom floor, etc.) for a few days until we complained. Again, it was only cleaned once and not thereafter. Also, it took then some 4 days to remove dirty glasses (from the bar) from the room! 4. Cleanliness - hotel: the patio section outside the conference rooms leading to the back of the hotel - one armchair was completely broken. Tables, pillows and armchairs were filthy. This was for every day we were there. 5. The hotel advertises 24-hour room service, yet when we tried to order something to eat at just after 9:30pm (on 2 occasions), we were told the kitchen was closed and there was nothing available - why advertise it then? 6. Noise levels: we understand the hotel function rooms are used to host weddings, but surely they should do something about the noise that reaches your room even with windows closed?
Overview - requires moderising/ refurbishing
Pleasant though average stay overall. Check in slow & inefficient, took 25 mins with pre completed check-in. Breakfast not replenished & had to interrupt staff chatting to get coffee served. Staff pleasant, room small & disappointing for deluxe room, no fridge & hard worn out terrace furniture. Coffee machine good attribute but Only 2 coffee capsuals & only 1 worked. No room service breakfast option, questionable for 4 star hotel. Nice toiletries. Firm bed requested but very soft mattress on beds. Wedding food fine but lack of gin bar as paid for.
The receptionist Anna greeted us by saying that our room did not have a lock and it was damaged. The room was dark and didn’t even have a fan and was boiling. She was sniggering and laughing also while telling us with no apology. We asked for another room during the second night of our stay and thankfully we got one but even then it was stressful and hassle and not once didn’t she apologise. She made out that everything we asked for which was just a functioning room was inconvenient.
Only stayed for one night and it was good for the purpose, breakfast was nice also. Decor is very outdated in the rooms and would be good for them to update it
Excellent stay
great venue.room was excellent.clean.no clutter.most comfortable bed i've ever slept in.check in took a little while but i think the system was running slowly.very friendly staff and reasonable alcohol prices for a hotel of this calibre.only criticism i have is there was no power/charging points next to the bed.but overall would definitely stay again and would highly recommend this place.
The staff were friendly and helpful, close to the NEC.
disappointed
Room was very small not enough room to have a bedside table both sides, the room example picture shows there is, they were very busy so no room change available. the corridor doors slammed when people went through them. the staff were friendly and the rooms clean
Satisfactory stay.
asked for a upgrade to double bed....only tiny single bed room given. carpets absolutely filthy with wine stains etc. no telephone in the room....so could not contact reception or order room service !!.... tv not working ( had to sort out aerial socket and wire myself !!) A fantastic breakfast !! with very convenient parking (easy access from car to room
Nice chalet style room staff very pleasant and helpful would definitely stay again
