Handy location budget priced room. On entering it is very run down and has clearly never refurbished in 50 or 60 years. I’m sorry that I can’t recommend this place although it isn’t so bad, that if it was the only place available you’d rather sleep in the car but it’s a close run thing. If you book here with low expectations you won’t be too disappointed.

The room is extremely small only a double bed bathroom tiles cracked missing in shower and soap holder in wall broken not at all maintained properly

When I arrived, I was told that because I had booked through Expedia, then I would have a small room upstairs and that there was no parking included. They said if I wanted a bigger room with a parking space, I had to pay an extra $10. I referred them to the Expedia website and they conceded that the website said nothing about a smaller room nor that there was no parking space. I did not pay the extra $10.

Reasonably priced with ok facilities. More cleaning needs to be done though, it’s very average in that department.

No safety chain on the door

It was very convenient to the train and town. Very tired and worn. Bed comfy and sheets clean. Carpet ugh! bathroom peeling paint and needs a good clean and makeover. Just needs a lot of love.

Basic accommodation

The property was close to the town centre. The facilities are very dated and cramped. Not good value.

Cheaper accommodation if you are not fussed about the room being basic and a touch old. We only stayed 1 night, so it was fine for us.

The service from the manager very exceptional and we had a great chat about cricket (both our teams lost unlosable tests a couple of days later lol). The room itself was quite good, WiFi worked and I was able to connect the TV to other devices well. No issues with the bed. The shower worked well. Probably needs a different style vent system up the top. Very easy walk into town and no road noise. A pleasant experience.

Location location

Stayed a night here due to its location & reasonable price. I wasn't expecting any flash & wasnt disappointed. Room was upstairs accessed by steepish & narrow stairs. There were tables directly outside each room with ashtrays & smoke wafted into the room with the door closed. Room was very small & double bed was short (I'm 190cm), but as I was travelling alone I was able to lay diagonally. Motel is within easy walking distance of the main street.

Simple and quiet

Nice room, great location highly recommend

I chose this motel for its price and the fact that all we needed was a place to sleep before traveling on early the next morning. So value for money was appropriate. Improvements could be made to the condition of the entrance wooden door and bathroom architraves. The door was broken at the bottom and the architraves in the bathroom were in a similar condition. The lock on the entry door was also loose. The tiles and grouting in the shower and bathroom were also cracked and stained. The bath towels, however were soft and thick, I think the best towels I have had in a motel ever! The manager also provided us with a jug of milk rather than the UHT milk capsules, very thoughtful and much nicer!

The vast amount of mould on the bathroom ceiling really stood out to me. The muck on the walls of the room wasn’t very nice either. Some surfaces had a thick layer of dust on them, including the bathroom basin top.

Shower was a bit 'hit and miss'. Seemed to vary on who else was showering at the same time

Although the stairs are sterp, the top floor corner was a good location. Quiet, clean, and adequate. Would stay again.

If you are after a basic sub-standard no frills budget motel, this is the place for you. The services listed on their website do not exist, there is no breakfast at all, the airport shuffle does not exist, I did not see a BBQ and the milk provided with your room is portioned by the motel and barely enough for a coffee or tea. When questioned about the lack of services that are listed on the website, the manager didn't care. If you stay here, expect nothing and you won't be disappointed.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. Our stay was only short - 2 nights, but we had everything we needed. The only thing that would make a stay more enjoyable, would be for the rooms to have more eating utensils, plates, bowls and spoons.

Seemed quite old. Rooms quite small compared to other motels and cost more than the others we stayed at on our trip.

This hotel was disappointing. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. There was built up dust and dirt in the bathroom. The air-conditioner was noisy with something stuck in the vent. The complimentary milk was provided in a jug with glad wrap covering it - in these times of COVID etc, this is totally inappropriate. Will never stay again or recommend this hotel.

Clean

A good highway stopover

The Wattle Tree is typical of most roadside Motels in rural Australia. The room was small, clean, functional and without frills. While the fittings reflect the age of the Motel, including the pastel pink bathroom tiles everything is is good repair. Location is good with a short walk to the Main Street and Supermarkets, plus numerous pubs, cafes and restaurants. Our two night stay was comfortable and probably typical of most travellers looking for a quiet room with great AC to recharge before proceeding in with the journey.

It was the cheapest in town that met our needs.

Cute motel in a gorgeous town

An excellent, cute little motel. Comfortable beds. Fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. It’s old but is clean and has charm. Central to train station and shopping strip. Will be back.
