Charming cottage feel

This was a lovely little roadside hotel with a cottage feel. Our room was very clean and well appointed. Great location with lake view and park view. Paragliders landed in the park while we were there. The laundry room is very convenient and there is a private clothes line to hang dry! Wanaka is a beautiful town with great restaurants and shopping. I wish we would have skipped Tekapo and stayed here another night or two instead.

2nd floor room but no lift

We were put into a small basement room with no windows. It's not even as good as other 3 star hotels we stayed.

Fantastic motel experience in Wanaka

Motel was well sited within easy walking to shops and perfect lake views. Kitchen had everything you need and comfy beds. Great shower too with excellent pressure. Lovely host who checked in and was able to offer practical suggestions. Will stay there again

Just about on the lake front. Very close to the town centre. Very functioning unit.

Good option in Wanaka

We had a pleasant stay at this Hotel , we got a front room with nice views overs the park to the lake, We had some hot weather so AC would have been useful, Other than that all was good , would stay again.

Handy quiet everything you need plus laundry. Owner very helpful for advising activities.

Beautiful place, lovely people, highly recommended. I had a slightly secluded room which was perfect for my needs. The front rooms look magical if all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy. Thanks for a great stay.

Great Location and Comfortable Stay

Fairly updated and very clean. Beds were very comfortable and seemed new. Basic kitchen area and living room combined. We had a 2 bedroom unit but be warned, the bedrooms are quite small. Really only room for beds and small walkway. there were only two of us so not an issue, but if 3-4 people shared, there wouldn't be much room (if any) for luggage in the room. No closets or dressers in the room to store luggage away. Like I said, not as issue if traveling light and only two people. Limited TV channels (not an issue since we didn't watch much TV) but you can log into your Netflix on the TV. One minor annoyance (which was standard all over NZ but noticed it here more) is that they don't have window screens so we did get quite a few moths and bugs in the room. Location is excellent with free parking and 5 minute walk to the main town center with great bars and restaurants along the waterfront. Recommend Francesca's for italian and also loved visiting Maude Winery tasting room (only 5 minutes from the hotel). Hotel provided free bikes (we didn't use) and free lawn chairs for each room, which you can take across into the large park across the road to watch the sunset over the lake and mountains. Really enjoyed our stay here.

Good location, decent enough, comfortable location

Good location, when I arrived at 8pm there was no parking spot available as advertised, I parked across the street in public street parking, when I called to check that it was free/I would not get a ticked, no one from the front desk followed up- which would have been nice. Otherwise everything else was smooth and pleasant, I would call the quality about 3 stars.

We had an enjoyable stay. The room was very clean and the staff were so amazing and friendly.

Beautiful View

Wonderful stay at Wanaka View Motel. All the staff were very friendly and had lots of suggestions for things to do around town. The property was a great location close to town and room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view over the lake!

Wonderful accommodation. Great spot. It was close to everything and was quiet.

Perfect location with view of lake. Melissa was so helpful at checkin and even got us on a wine tour for the next day. Entire staff was wonderful. Thanks for sharing Wanaka with us.

Very good spot

Lovely reception from the Host, room was perfect as we had a Family of 4. The Double bed was quite small but that would be my only mention. Location was great

Cosy and great location

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived; lovely little chalets looking over the lake & a short walk to the shops. Staff were friendly, room was clean & tidy with fresh towels etc daily. Relaxing during the day with great morning sun and quiet at night.

Excellent room with amazing view!

Friendly staff at reception who gave great tips on the activities and restaurants that we can have a try. Well situated hotel with a supermarket nearby and we are lucky to have the first room facing the lake view.

Marvelous place. Enjoy a glass a beer in the sunset.

Gorgeous spot!

Cannot complain about this sweet place. Great family unit with adequate facilities. Super friendly staff. Park across the road. Wish we had booked earlier and got a front unit for the fabulous view but it was super nevertheless. Loved that it was a short walk to town. We fell in love with Wanaka and it was top of list with all the different accommodation we stayed in during our 12 day driving holiday with the family. It was slightly small but we had too many bags!

Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff at Wanaka Views very comfortable bed and room. Clean and warm. Big bar fridge. Good laundry. Close walk to lake and shops. Great all round.

Fantastic location and super friendly managers. Unit was well kitted and very clean, although living space and rooms were pretty snug.

We spend one night in Wanaka and the hotel was great! Within walking distance to all the restaurants and groceries in town, it was convenient and the staff was very friendly and happy to help.

Great view, pity we were freezing!

We booked the 3 bedroom unit for our family of five. We were greeted by a lovely lady when we arrived. Our unit was very compact and the layout was strange, as the couch was facing away from the tv? I wouldn't recommend a long stay as space was very limited for the number of bedrooms, with a very pokey kitchen and nowhere to store your groceries etc. The unit had been updated in terms of paint/carpet, but there was no insulation and we could feel cold air coming up through the floor and through the windows...there might be a great view, but it's not much use when you have to keep the curtains shut to try and keep the heat in! We had booked for three nights but we ended up leaving a day early as we were just cold and uncomfortable. I would have thought the owners should invest in a proper window (rather than the old louvered style) in the toilet at the very least, as it just leaked air...it was like walking in to the freezer! And perhaps a light in the hallway so you can see what you are doing...Would probably be ok staying here in warmer months, but I'd give it a miss over winter

The hosts are very warm and always helpful. Shared with us on the room's tips and where to visit in town. Clean and comfortable. Wish we had more time to stay another night..
