Small Room
I paid for a corner room thinking it was going to be a bit more spacious. Instead, it had a huge column inches from the bed which made the room really crowded (like a NYC room).
If not the lap of luxury it’s the hip! Totally encapsulates the cool Austin vibe—centrally located at a luxe location. Quiet, sumptuous, clean, and discreet. The Living Room bar vinyl turntable for the win!
Really Enjoyed our stay and we will be staying with y'all again Thank You.
BEWARE!!! They will charge you $62 per night for your car to be in valet even as a hotel guest. This is outrageously absurd and is not in line with other downtown hotels of this caliber or higher. Stay anywhere else as most of the comparable hotels will either comp your valet if you are a hotel guest or charge somewhere in the ballpark of $30/night. Or they’ll charge a single fee for your entire stay with unlimited in and out privileges. I called to question the high charges, was transferred to the manager, who argued with me that the price is in line despite my having stayed at Fairmont two weeks ago and having my valet comped as a hotel guest. I then asked if he has the authority to comp at least one night to which he replied “I do but I’m not going to”. !! Other notes: They forgot our room service order one night so they did comp the order but it took 90 mins to arrive. I would have rather paid and gotten my dinner on time (as expected). I ordered an americano from the on site restaurant Trace one morning, it took 10 mins for the bartender to bring it and when she did she just brought straight espresso. I asked her if she had hot water and she said she didn’t but she could get some. Took another 5 mins. Personally I will never be back knowing all the other great options in town- Proper, Fairmont, Thompson, Westin, JW Marriot. ANYWHERE but here.
It was very nice and we will be staying again in September
Love the decor and staff was awesome. Only disappointment was that the pool was overused and murky from humans.
Top notch service.
Very convenient next door to Austin City Limits!
Amazing as Always!
Wouldn’t stay here again
I love the property, the vibe was cool and laid back, the staff was warm and friendly, the listening room and secret bar were awesome features. The room was comfortable and I loved the nesresso in room, would have loved ceramic cups and a couple of extra pods on hand. I enjoyed the Massage services at the Spa while staying on site and felt pampered while there. My let down was the food, we ate at Trace and had room service also, in both cases found the food mediocre at best. Not well cooked or seasoned.
The suite was exceptional. Suzanne at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. Her dining recommendation turned out to be one of the best meals ever
Great location. Beautiful view. Amazing staff.
Very good and quick
Great
Great Hotel, Bedding, Nah!
Bed was not comfortable at all, very hard. The eco-friendly A/C is not what we like. It said it was 65 degrees, it felt more like 75 degrees.
Staff is remarkably hospitable - such a lovely welcome. The room was sized nicely with water bottles (free) and standard coffee service and amenities. We’ve stayed here before due to the proximity to ACL Live. It’s a great area. Beautiful hotel and lovely staff.
The only negative is our room wasn’t cleaned when we returned from our day. Their cleaning staff finished at 2:00pm and we had no idea.
I would not stay here again
I paid a ridiculous amount of money for a queen room. I also paid for an ADA room. We had one person in a wheelchair and the chair could barely fit into the room it did not fit into the bathroom. I would just like to know why we weren’t offered the room that we paid for? We were told that because we booked through a third-party that they could only accommodate us with what they had.
Incredible location, service and amenities
I enjoyed my stay. No particular reason. I just enjoy the hotel.
Disappointed
The only thing good about the stay was the location and the valet service. The layout of the room was decent. However, the bed was horribly uncomfortable. The sheets and pillows were itchy and unsanitary. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a friend.
Great location, Staff was incredibly nice, hosted great Pride event before Parade and the next day. Great drink options in the bar!
I loved everything about my stay here and plan to return soon!
Stay downstairs
The common rooms downstairs are really beautiful. I was eager to see my room. For nearly one thousand dollars a night it was awful. Furniture old and outdated. Windows and drapes dirty. Very dingy and disappointing. When the neighbor showered our pipes were too loud to rest. The balcony was exposed to neighbor and looked like a prison. Hall carpet filthy all the way to our room
I like the contemporary look of the rooms.
Had to wait an hour to check in, not very helpful or in to much a hurry to get the room ready, extra charges on my card . Not what I expected for the price .
exceptional service
exceptional customer service by all parties , the property was a welcome surprise, rooms were clean and the entire staff made our stay an exceptional on , We cant wait to return
Excellent location downtown with easy access to everything around Austin. Room was comfortable, NYE event was fun, we didn't enjoy the restaurants and pool, but they looked nice. Did have room service, which wasn't too bad, but could have had more tasty options especially seafood and vegetarian.
The location is ideal for downtown activities, all in walking distance.
VERY APPOINTMENTING. MY ROOM HAD TO BE CHANGED. THE ROOM SMELL UNCLEAN. FOR THE COST, THIS HOTEL NEED TO REPAINT THE ENTIRE INTERIOR, NEW CARPET, NEW FURNITURE. ETC.
W for Labor Day
Tv was dated didn’t have Netflix or the ability to log into my accounts. Other than that it was clean and enjoyable. Music at the pool was cool for me to hear in the room but other guests might not appreciate that.
Pool time
Had a great time at the pool, staff was friendly.
The bar / lounge area was really nice, and the bartenders were really good. Would definitely revisit.
The DJ at the pool and the pool staff was great. Very clean hotel. Haven’t stayed places since covid wish there was an option for automatic towel refresh each day.
I did not stay there. It was the wrong date you made the rest for
W never disappoints
Since we arrived, the service was impeccable from start to finish. From the wake up calls, room service, hotel bar, and the employees were incredibly thorough, punctual, and made our friend’s bday surprise weekend outstanding and effortless! Class act every step of the way.
Ok stay
I’m not sure what the hype is about “W”
OK stay. Hallway had broken glass and spilled food. People partying until 4am and the down feather pillows were very uncomfortable making for a bad nights sleep. Interestingly enough they don’t even have a door for privacy between the shower and bedroom - you’ll have to call for a privacy curtain. Also had to call for a nespresso, twice, because the room didn’t have one. Had to call for towels as well. The furniture and carpets could use a deep clean as they’re very stained. Service was slow poolside - 30 minutes for chips and salsa to come and I had to follow up on where my order was. Trace for breakfast was soooo slow. Nothing special and wouldn’t stay again or recommend. There are many other great high end options in town that actually live up to the level of service expected for the price point.
Perfect location! Restaurants and bars are located on walks distances from the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are spacious, gym is accessible on 4th floor. Pool can get crowded during weekends.
Front desk staff treating me in a manner I did not seem appropriate when I ask them basic questions or ask to have them send up help for something. I paid almost $1500 for two nights, I understand that customer service jobs can be rough, but I was jerked around & treated differently my whole stay.
Pool was packed. But overall a very cute, great location. Would stay again.
Look like somewhat of a slow weekend, Easter weekend, cloud cover. Staff was incredible as usual just flat out good hospitality friendly answered questions. One disappointment was not a heated pool, that could’ve been a seasonal thing, I definitely like a good local craft draft beer, was disappointed there was not any draft beer at the bar. The gym was flat out incredible, one of the largest ones I’ve stayed at. Stayed at “the line“ two weeks ago and the Fairmont last weekend, as I am in Austin generally a couple of times a a month. I’ll certainly be back to the W always a good experience.
Got sick and throw up. I was not drunk just had the flu coming on and they charged me $500 clean up fee. Next day I was diagnosed with the flu. Terrible treatment. I got engaged their and they treated us very bad on our engagement day!
Great Pool and very quiet
I really appreciated the complimentary water bottles. I loved the body lotion in the bathroom. The pool was phenomenal and there are complimentary towels at the pool. We ordered room service and the food was great! The only downside of the hotel is that the internet was slow and there was no cell phone reception but overall, the best hotel in downtown Austin.
Small room..expensive
Rooms very small for the price, no privacy on balconies you can look to either side & see your neighbors. Only option for parking is valet $49 a night.
I wasn't impressed with a couple of staff interactions and on top of that when I made a remark to speak to someone in charge it was not handled properly. That accompanied with my room being too noisy I will probably never come back to the W. very unfortunate.
Horrible horrible what else can we say. Had to wait three hours for the pool because of COVID-19. When we did finally get to go a bunch of college-age students and teenyboppers very loud music. Side table in the room was broken. Now in scratch marks on the headboard
ot at family hotel at all
Not at all a family hotel, the atmosphere is not for childrens, so if you plan to go with your kids, better choose another hotel However, I can say that the hotel is beautiful, its rooms comfortable and the service excellent
Horrible experience
Worst stay ever. Will not ever go back! We left a day early because the hotel was over booked and not comfortable.
Nice property. Bed sheets were itchy and the couch in the room was dirty looking. Definitely expected more from a W Hotel
Very disappointed about the hidden charges and the costumer service
Awesome pool and wonderfull view of downtown. Would recommend to anyone
Stay in Austin
Location was great but the rooms are average and small for the price.
Very good location, near to a lot of the main attractions for Austin. Friendly staff and very well kept and clean rooms
Overpriced. Only had surface parking that was more expensive than other 4 star hotel’s valet parking. Definitely not a hotel for anyone over 40!
The initial accessible room didn't have rails around the toilet area. I like that they quickly accomodated my wife with a room that did.
Great location. Clean up to date hotel. Staff was greet from the greeting to the valets. The staff at the pool to get drinks was a bit slow, but other than that great place to stay.
CEO
Overall the service and amenities were phenomenal - superb gym facility. The room and hallways see a bit outdated with carpet stains ETC for a $320 a night hotel. Update the rooms and clean/replace the carpets and this would get a 5 star rating from me
Fabulous
Was upgraded at check in, all employees were very nice and friendly. The room was beautiful and clean. I plan to stay here when I come to Austin in the future!
Worst trip to Austin Ever !!!
Upon arriving it was a prejudice atmosphere , everything was fake about the whole experience . If your looking for privacy this isn’t the place , no doors in the restroom area, beds were sloppy , only 6 people in the pool at a time , two page waiting list for the pool. Also lied about pool hours was told it closed at 6pm to later find out it was actually 8pm. My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary which was totally messed up due to the W!!! I wouldn’t recommend no one !!!!
Its always a fun time at the W. The arrival process was a breeze. Their process for reserving a spot at the pool needs some revamping. We called someone who took our number but wasn't actually a part of the Wet Deck staff. The front desk didn't know what was going on but then finally spoke to the Wet Deck manager and had no issues after that. I know COVID is affecting business however only having one bartender wasn't fair to him nor the guests. I'll still always continue to stay here because its in a great location and the staff is great. I would just recommend management monitoring business levels and calling in for help as needed.
We booked the W in Austin, because it was open, had a beautiful pool and all we wanted to do was sit by a pool for the weekend. We flew down from the Midwest to learn they didn't have room service and the pool was closed. Actually there were people by the pool, but only residence of the building, we couldn't use it. $350/night for a Best Western prison room. Horrible experience. If the pool isn't open don't show pictures on your website of the pool!!
Great location to shopping, eating ant the Moody theater.
My wife and I had a wonderful time from the valet to the customer service. We had a wonderful time!!!
Great gym. The rooms are small with nowhere for 2 people to put their stuff. The supposed upgrade to a "Fantastic" room was actually smaller and less equipped than the "Wonderful" room.
Not worth the money. Not even close
Room was dirty, hall was loud, people arguing on the floor. Very disappointed in a rather expensive hotel. More so, $50 to keep you car at the hotel for 1 night. That wasn’t advertised. I will never stay here again.
Amazing! Great service and location, highly recommend the bar too
It was super nice clean and super good location I love it
Great location. Professional, helpful staff! Enjoyed our stay. Will visit again.
Good hotel but won’t stay here again
Very clean room in excellent location. However this hotel doesn’t provide free WiFi and it’s cost are rather high. Same goes for parking fees.
The property was in a great location and the staff was very friendly. The hotel was very nice, but the bed was not comfortable...very lumpy!
The W is a beautiful property in a great location. The staff was was attentive and accommodated all of our needs. We enjoyed our stay at the W.
Excellent
Good location but poor lighting in rooms...hot water takes forever...overpriced for amenities
We were disappointed because we thought there was a pool and hottub but staff told us there were not available.
Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. Within walking distance to many shops, cafes, restaurants and nightlife.
We had a wonderful stay at the W. Staff went above and beyond surprising us with heart shaped rose petals on the bed and champagne for our anniversary. All staff members were extremely kind and helpful. The location is perfect for exploring all of downtown Austin. Highly recommended!
The hotel room's bathroom did not have a door to close between it and the rest of the room. The toilet had a door, but not the shower and sink area. We prefer to have a bathroom with a door for privacy and to reduce bathroom noise from the rest of the room. Also, due to the placement of a large sofa, it was not easy to get to the windows to open and close the drapes. The bed needed more regular size pillows, not small decorative ones.
Well kept. Very comfortable bed. Super clean. Well located for easy walk to Downtown.
The room was very small, I wasn't expecting that. The spa treatments I received blew me away.
Great Hotel With Great Customer Service
Great experience at this hotel! From the minute I valet parked my car, the staff was friendly and extremely helpful. I was given an upgraded room at no cost. I ordered food delivery and the staff made sure to escort the delivery person to my hotel room. Very pleasant experience and I will definitely be coming back!
Location and room decoration. The room were super clean.
The staff. Hands down, the staff was the best part of this property. Everyone was super polite, friendly and helpful. They’ve got a good team! Oh, the hotel was nice too!
My wife and I wanted to stay in a hotel that would be a place we normally wouldn’t stay at. We picked the W Austin based off the photos and reviews. The hotel cost on the app was $650. When we got to the hotel they charged our account an additional $750 for anything we damage or use for a $1400 day. The entry to the hote tunneled to the elevators and did not have directions where anything was. We figured out later through wandering where the rest of the hotel was. When we paid for a king size bed, like we have at home, did not get a king sized bed. We attempted to use the WiFi in the room but discovered we had to pay for it and it wasn’t cheap. For $650 for ONE night....we consider this hotel a bust since it wasn’t any better than a cheaper hotel and did not have amenities. We felt like we only paid for the name of the hotel. Just not worth the money in my opinion.
Great location for seeing a show at ACL live. Water pressure was fantastic in the shower as well. However, there were a few things lacking. Specifically, the pillows didn’t offer much support. Also, there are only power outlets on one side of the bed. Might not be a big deal for a solo traveler, but I prefer to have my phone plugged in on the nightstand rather than across the room.... especially when there are plenty of outlets on my SO’s side of the bed.
One of Austin's Best
My brother and I came in for Austin City Limits music festival last minute, and we were hesitant on where to stay given the price mark-ups on all the hotels, particularly the nice ones such as the W, but ultimately made the decision to stay at the W --- and we were so glad we did. The hotel's location in the heart of downtown was the primary reason for our stay, and we left with dozens of more reasons why we'd stay here again. The service was incredible from the moment we checked in to when we checked out, and the staff was extremely hospitable, offering us free drinks while our room was getting ready. The rooms were very clean, modern, and offered an excellent view of downtown. The beds were so comfortable, and the main
WE were SO unhappy with this property and tried to get out of our stay there.
Everything is great from customer service to cleanliness hotel lobby smells azing valet Friendly quick rwapext full
Tiny room. Several items in the room were broken. Beds were uncomfortable
Property was dirty and out dated. The rug on our floor was stained and ugly. We were on the 12th floor. Since we woke up late because we arrived late the night before We called housekeeping to service our room but they never cleaned it or changed the towels.
The property was very dirty and unkept. Could have done a better job. I was very shocked seeing I have stayed at other properties and they was very well kept. This facility is really due for a Renovation and upgrade to match the other hotels in the area. I believe they are living off the past and that’s not going to continue to get it done. See this and make it happen
I only take one vacation a year so I really want to enjoy it and spend the extra money to make sure I am comfortable. This hotel failed. The Valet service was prompt and easy but expensive with no other options for parking available. The entrance to the lobby was dark and claustrophobic but the the staff was friendly and helpful. The bar was dark and gloomy but there are open seating areas adjacent so I sat there to have a drink. I eventually had to go to the bar for self service as the cocktail waitress did not seem interested in waiting on me. The bartender, Aaron, was helpful and attentive the drinks were good. I wanted to enjoy the pool area before going to an evening event I was attending but it was in the middle of a remodel. I do not think the middle of summer in Texas is appropriate time to remodel a pool. I can go with the flow and over look all if these thing but the next morning I was planning on sleeping in and enjoying breakfast in my room but a jack hammer started breaking up the concrete in the pool at 9:01. Needless to say there was no sleep or relaxation possible with a jack hammer right outside my window so I left. I was on a 10 day road trip thru the Texas Hill Country and stayed at hotels that cost 75% less that I enjoyed 100% more. The hotel should give construction discounts, place leisure travelers in the rooms as far away from construction activities as possble. Room small with no door between shower and bedroom but clean.
Overall our stay was good. The hotel is in a good location and overall well kept. The cucumber water in the lobby was always refreshing. The pool service was good. Friendly staff with good food and drinks. The pool is a bit small and the deck is hot to walk on. The music is not the greatest to listen to poolside. I would recommend bringing a speaker or headphones. The rooms are clean. The carpet looked like typical hotel carpeting though. The sink is awkward with very little room to store your items. You do get a nice closet and robe. They provide you with an iron and steamer, which is convenient. The spa staff was unfriendly, to say the least. They were unfriendly when we wanted to use the locker room to change into our suits to go to the pool. They also, never returned our call to get a couples massage. We needed a massage because the mattress was extremely uncomfortable. The staff brought me coffee from the kitchen when the Nespresso machine did not work. The problem is they still charged me for the coffee. I believe the JW Marriott was overall a better experience for the price.
Dated decor, not stylish, not a king bed
Hotel needs a major update. It is very dated. Not stylish. The record room is silly as there is no way to play the records. You can’t check them out and there are no record players in the room or lobby. As to the room I had a king upgrade and the King bed is NOT a king bed. It is exactly 62 inches wide which is an odd size but a king is 76 inches wide. When I called they said they have a “W” version of a king lol So they just call it a king and that is what they consider a king. Staff was nice enough but I asked for a later. Heck out and they said they would have to charge me half a day. Overall I would never stay here again. Probably would t stay at another W Bc of this place again. The W in Miami is an exception. This feels low end.
Rude bartender
I had incredible stay besides for the bartender with the beard at the pool he had such an attitude problem he messed up my drink 4 times and then try to make it as if it’s my fault
Great staff and location- horrible room
Great service, location, and very friendly and accommodating staff../But unfortunately my room was very moldy, pillows smelled horrible, and AC wouldn’t work. I got super sick after a 3 day stay. Couldn’t breathe at all in the room.
I live in austin and I choose to stay here from time to time. Tonight we ate dt then planned to come dance and stay here. Summer lovin’. Lol Amazing experience and u need to come and appreciate the wet deck.

Was expecting more
The front desk was very friendly. And so was the answering service and bartender. My only complaints are that 1) there was only one valet working and he was being called in a lot of directions so he wasn’t readily available and so there was a long wait to check in the car and 2) ordered room service. After 40 mins I called and they said they need another 20 mins. After 2 hours I cancelled it and just didn’t eat dinner that night. It was only 2 hamburgers! 😬
