The hotel and staff were quite lovely during our stay. Unfortunately, we went during the low season and I definitely do not recommend doing that. There wasn't much to do in the surrounding area but that isn't really the hotel's fault. The one thing I will say that was not satisfactory at the property was the breakfast. For £35, I expected at least a little bit better of an offering from the buffet. Everything was quite stale and not many options. We elected to purchase the avocado toast which seemed more like an avocado spread than actual avocados (Avocados seem difficult to get in this region of the world as I have not had great luck in Europe in general finding fresh avocados like you can in the US). Other than that, I highly recommend the property as the rooms were extremely clean, very large, and the design is quite cool. It looks much better in person than it does in photos for some reason. Also, the staff was so friendly as you come to expect when visiting Portugal, it's just a totally different vibe from the people in the US and other parts of Europe.

The hospitality of the staff here is beyond phenomenal. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Was a guest here for 4 nights, and my brother had his wedding here on the one night. I travelled with my 2 year old son and wife. The service provided by all the staff to myself and my extended family was nothing short of amazing. The property and facilities are well maintined and great to use. Thank you.

The staff were amazing, they made the stay! The hotel is popular with weddings and functions so was a bit noisy in the evening. This aside the building, amenities and pool were fabulous. The hotel was close to a beach which was also great.

Stayed with my wife for our babymoon. Honestly, the best service I've received and can't recommended them highly enough!

Decor of the property is really nice, its ultra modern and fancy. Food at the pool was really average and there were no lifeguards at the pool at all. Generally staff were great and we had a great view of the sunset from our room. Hotel restaurants were very good - food at Paper Moons was a highlight and live singer at Market Kitchen was wonderful. Shuttle bus to local sandy beach was good (it has a nice beach club restaurant) - nice plus point. Gale beach 10 mins down the road was better beach however.

Everything perfect! Very nice location in center of Algavre. Beach easily accessible! Very nice for family vacation.

Lovely stay at beautiful hotel

Excellent hotel. Very friendly and efficient staff. Top notch service. The room was beautiful and spacious. Balcony was amazing. Breakfast had lots of variety. Hotel restaurants were also good The hotel wasn’t really walking distance from anywhere which was a bit of a shame and food at pool could have been better but otherwise great stay.

Great breakfast though they did not mention about breakfast items on the menu till the last day. Nice rooms and comfortable beds but the shelves were dusty. Large pool but the water was cold. Furthermore, this hotel is not ideal for families. Better for adults and groups than families. Last but not least, Whatever, Whenever but Never. I had to chase my restaurant bookings daily.

Sometimes pictures are deceiving. Not here. This hotel is absolutely stunning. From the lobby, room, pool, the views. The staff was warm, welcoming and super and super helpful. This would be a great wedding, romantic getaway, honeymoon experience. Everything was top-notch.

A real five star experience. Might be quiet for some, and is a taxi ride away from anything much, but for a relaxing short break this was perfect

The hotel itself is beautiful, large spacious rooms, however, over priced in terms of food in terms of quality. They also charge an additional €125 euros per extra bed per night and take a €100 euros on check in, if your not expecting that cost it will be a surprise on arriving. The location is great, accessible to some great beaches and staff are as accommodating as they can be. Probably wouldn’t select a Marriott group hotel in the future.

Staff we’re amazing, rooms we’re very cleaning with great extra. Waters are unlimited with was a great add on!

Great property, clean , great service cool vibes

Only a year old 5 star hotel. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Location and place is neat, lovely and has its own flare of eclectic interior. Big disappointment and draw back especially for families with older children (13 & 12) is the hotel rule of not allowing children in the main swimming pool ( even if the depth of this adult pool is less than 5 feet ) and restricting them in the children pool ( actually a wading pool for young children). We stayed for 2 days and have been told 3x of this rule, while other families’ children were allowed to use the adult pool. It’s worth considering a 2nd attempt of vacation if this rule is remove, despite the very expensive cost.

W was conveniently located between Faro and Lagos, allowing us too visit them both. It was located on a beautiful grounds with gorgeous views of Lagos coasts. We enjoyed our stay.

Normally, I almost never give reviews. But the W hotel chain, at least W Algarve, is a sociologically interesting hotel to analyze. This review aims to analyze the establishment in relation to its 5-star rating. Please bear this in mind as you read. So to start with, W Algarve is a perfectly adequate luxury hotel for the wealthy that has the cultural capital of a 4-star hotel. Indeed, this hotel lacks refinement, especially in terms of service, as little as there is elsewhere. As the world becomes more proletarian, it's obviously no wonder the hotel chain decided to make their hotels a haven for upper-class millennials, but perhaps they should have considered including ecology in their marketing approach (the hotel is indeed very wellness-oriented), in order to increase the loyalty of this clientele, which is particularly involved in political life (too much plastic in their establishment), much more than their baby-boomer parents, who are more inclined to complain about their standard of living, which continues to decrease. This hotel has the advantage of allowing its guests to bring their pets, which is a real plus, but again, from this perspective, it would make more logical sense to include sustainability. In short, if you are deeply attached to luxury and to the service that this implies, as well as to the quality of food, don't go to this hotel. There's no refinement and the food is 4 star level. This hotel is worth 300 per night, no more. Don't pay more, just don't

The staff were SO friendly and AMAZING! We can’t wait to come back!!! Special thanks to Miguel, Tatiana, and the chef at Paper Moon for making us feel like family. We ate there every night of our stay and we looked forward to it every time. I recommend the panna cotta! I ordered one at dinner……and then an extra one to take back to the room and eat! The food is out of this world!!! Another big thank you goes out to Anna at the front desk. We really wanted to take one of the fish pillows from our room home with us, and although that was not possible, she brought us the most adorable fish keychain and a sweet personal note to take with us. Everyone at the hotel really went out of their way to make us feel special and important. We tried hard not to cry as we left… … .

Awful experience

Worst hotel experience, ruined our yearly family trip. Booked W for 3 nights. Day of arrival had dinner at Paper Moon restaurant. Shared dish with my son that was not at the menu: gnocchi with Raw shrimps. Next day both woke up with food poisoning. Stayed in the room sick for 2 days. We were planning skydiving , ATV tour, horse back riding and spa treatments but instead of exploring Algarve, we were in pain. Consider that hotel had very low occupancy I asked manager Andrea Vieites for complimentary days but she refused. I was told that shrimps were send to “third party to analyze” and I would receive an email with results. It’s been 3 days I haven’t heard from Andrea yet.

Absolutely loved the W Algarve. Pictures don’t do this beautiful place justice. Quiet, clean, very accommodating staff, amazing food and drinks, the list goes on! Would return in a heartbeat.

Un séjour Mega marvellous!

L’hôtel est idéalement situé, facilement accessible en voiture. L’accès direct à la plage est agréable. Le personnel est au petit soin, c’est appréciable. La chambre est très bien équipée et est bien décorée. La vue depuis la chambre que nous avions réservée est incroyable. Le petit déjeuner est très bien mais il nous a fallu attendre 15-20 minutes tous les jours pour avoir nos boissons chaudes. Les tables sont les unes sur les autres. Ce n’est pas acceptable. Si l’occasion se présente, nous y retournerons.

The property was really beautiful and unique. The problem was that the staff seem to be under trained and unprepared. I was under the impression that they were unsupervised interns. They gave us contradictory info all the time. Additionally they recommended us a company:Perfect Algarve Tranafer to transfer us from and to Lishon with the promise that the driver was a tourist guide as well. It turned out that he was a very aggressive driver with little knowledge about the region, and failed to respect the original itinerary and prices by constantly imposing his will. We were deprived out of what we wanted to visit and he verbally abused us when we would point out inconsistencies in his planning. He was also a little too comfortable in threatening us by saying he could leave us roadside on the highway if he wanted too.

Hotel agradável com acesso direto à praia do restaurante Evaristo. Não tem parceria com a concessão da praia (e devia ter). O shuttle para a praia do Castelo funciona bem. Não gostamos da decoração, o staff é novinho com pouca experiência mas simpático. No geral consideramos que corresponde a um hotel de 4 estrelas em conforto e serviço. É essencial num hotel de praia ter um onde pendurar os fatos de banho a secar (algo que não manche os fatos de banho como foi o caso).
