Formule hybride parfaite!
One toilet paper No coffee or tea No cleaning of the room Safe key not working Air condition low medium and high the high felt like 21 No soap or body wash Internet issues Felt like a 2 star Staff was helpful Disappointed
Nothing bad to say it was great on every level
I really enjoyed our stay with the family. Very convenient property, with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, 2 washrooms. And the view was amazing. I loved the beach and everything about Martinique!
The property and the grounds were lovely. A couple things: there was no cleaning service the entire week we were there. They were very rigid on what hours you could eat and where. The staff was very pleasant and tried to be accommodating. Dinners were buffet style. We were the only Americans in the place. Everyone else was from France.
This is a very nice resort, on the beach, self suficient if you dont want to drive anywhere you dont have to. It can get very busy on the weekends when many locals are visiting, especially at the pool. I would not stay anywhere else in Matinik next time.
Not that friendly. No common respect as it should be to the client
Appartement rental more than hotel
It is a hôtel but service is more like an appartement: towels were changed only once during our 2 weeks stay. We have to fold used sheets and towels at the end of the stay! Priced like hôtel but service like rented appartement. Beautifull view and site.
location, gardens, beaches and sports. Great location close to nice beaches and the plantations to visit
A pleasant stay
Overall, our stay was quite pleasant. The garden view is wonderful.
Pierre & Vacances is a nice vacation resort. The location is great, close to many beaches and the beautiful south coast of Martinique. While the room was somewhat dated, smears on some walls, slight mold in showers (not really preventable given the humid environment, A/C not adjustable, the layout of the room is ideal for a family. We only had one meal at the hotel that was a disappointing buffet (few options and not great taste). We were also there during the off season so it may be fancier during peak months.
Pleasant stay.
Nice cozy village setup. The accommodations are modest. Limited food choices. The superette was nice to have as you can pick up canned goods, juice and concuts. However they are open for limited hours. Staff was friendly and pleasant. 15 minute walk into town to the restaurants and stores.
The beach near the hotel while open for public access was really beautiful and quiet, not crowded and a row of lounge chairs. The beach really made the vacation very special. the hotel room we were checked into was smaller than a 3-bedroom as advertised with two small rooms with pitched ceilings making them tiny. The smell coming from the bathroom (I gues the plumbing or drains?) was horrible, we complained about it several times and nothing was done to move/change our room or alleviate the smell. The food at the buffet is very overpriced for what they offer, but we rented a car and found several very nice restaurants close by. Almst no one at the resport spoke English, which was fine for me, but others may have a difficult time.
Required printed copies of reservation without any notification.
Great location
Wonderful view, beautiful pool, easy and close access to nice beach and great staff
I loved this vacation resort ! Outdoor kitchen on your large terrace from every room . Fun workouts in the pool . Beach is right there , great time swimming in the ocean . Loved the town of Ste Luce .
Our room AC was broken. NO air for first two days, then when the maintenance man came after 3 requests in two days he confirmed that the unit was unrepairable and we would be move to another room. Front desk said the hotel was booked full and they would bring us a portable AC unit. This cooled the room but the noise was unbearable and it leaked water all over the floor. On day 4 of our 5 night stay we were move to a unit away from our family. Total disaster!
Pool was nice but room didn’t seem clean! Mattress was very thin. We asked for more towels after using the pool. They said, No! Those are your towels for the week! Restaurant food was very expensive with birds flying in the restaurant while eating! When we were leaving the room noticed a sign that told us we needed to take out our garbage or be charged a cleaning fee! Over $500 a night and you have to take out your own garbage and get 1 towel for the week!
Upon check in I discovered I had left my passport at the car rental. The young woman who checked us in was very helpful with calling the car rental office and providing operating hours. When we arrived in our room We were immediately disappointed as the room was freezing cold. ( It was raining) We noticed that the room wasn't very clean. We saw dust, dated furniture, the bathroom smelled, the A.C was leaking water that made the entire room wet. The bathroom and kitchen had water stains and other signs that it wasn't cleaned properly. I'm not sure of the housekeeping policy. We kept calling daily to replenish towels and toilet paper, Which I think should be provided without constantly asking. A lot of the staff didn't speak English so it was difficult at times to communicate our needs and concerns.
The facility is spacious and well maintained. Big swimming pool, night life is good. Friendly and helpful staff. Cooking facility on the room balcony is very handy. Mini market half a mile away. Room furniture is basic. No elevator. The stairwell gets wet when it rains. Buffet dinner cost me 31 euro, not great and not worth it.
Few days stay before Catamaran Cruise
We arrived to find this island is not very American Friendly. Yes we are in a French speaking island. But they seem to be only French here. The property is in need of upgrades! Tired bedding (ripped sheets) mold in the shower and on the walls. Missing tiles in the pool. The buffet restaurant stops putting out food an hour before they close so go early. Shop on premises was well stocked. Pizza place was great. Grounds are well kept. Bring your ant spray!
Nice place for a family vacation
We had a great time at the resort. We enjoyed the pool, entertainment, sports. Our superior studio with sea view was comfortable and as expected. We had a kitchen on the balcony which we all liked. Huge parking. The property is beautiful and well maintained. We didn’t want to leave... I would definitely go back there again and would recommend to my friends. The only thing I wish worked better is wifi, it worked on and off the whole time. Other than that our stay was quite pleasant.
Special place in Martinique with comfort issues
We actually loved this hotel after spending 5 nights. Pros-The pool exercise class was fun (in French..)The paths/entries to many small beaches was private, clean and beautiful! The outdoor -property was well-maintained with gorgeous flowers and little plants that attract hummingbirds. The pool was clean and refreshing and large. I wish it were slightly warmer. The ocean was warmer than the pool but that is a huge treat for us anyway! The staff went out of their way to address our concerns, translate information and even assist us with dinner reservations. Thank you to Nadia and Tonia and a few gentleman who I didn't get their names-sorry. Cons-The mattress was very poor and overused-sagging in the middle. Pillows were also overused. We had to use the mattress from the sofa bed on top of existing mattress. The staff brought mattresses to stack. The food at the buffet was expensive (62Eur for 2). It was cafeteria quality in my opinion. We recommend visiting local restaurants like Pura Vida or Case Coco. They were excellent!! The bathroom had tiny little crazy ants but they really didn't bother me too much. I just covered my toothpaste. The shower area was not engineered correctly and there was leakage despite our best efforts to keep area dry. The towels were not refreshed during our 5 night stay and we had to sacrifice 3 of them to manage the shower leakage. This was disappointing. I recommend that the management announce activities in just a small amount of English.
There are better places to go to than here.
Property needs updating. Food was substandard. French was only language anyone knew.
Family scuba getaway
The resort was lovely and services were prompt, friendly and reasonably priced. The beach is beautiful and fitness classes were offered in the pool. I great place for families.
There is nothing good to say about this place
I usually don’t do reviews but my stay at this place compelled me to do so. I am really perplexed by Expedia not properly describing what this place is. It’s not a hotel, as services are non existent. It is a European style low budget accommodation, with a small kitchen where you can cook your meals, do your own cleaning, etc. The rooms and all facilities are completely outdated, long overdue for a total rehab. I’ve been traveling with Expedia forever and this is the first time when their rating of this place is really off. We made the best out of it and I guess it’s worth what we paid for it but people should know what they’re getting into.
Has Potential
The hotel is reasonable, it has two beaches right next to it. One on the right and the other on the left of the grounds. The room we had was pleasant enough the only problem was the House Keeping. We had our room cleaned twice during the stay with bed linen and towel changes, and also the lack of toilet roll supplied (2) was not sufficient enough for five people. I have never been to a hotel before where you are expected to go the reception and ask for it before. So we ended up just buying our own. Also we was told by Reception that House Keeping was every four days, being used to Europe and Asia as a family we are used to house keeping every day and at the minimum every second day. Having stopped in Martinique previously although at a different facility, I have never found house keeping a problem before. The Hotel grounds are well kept and the staff are very pleasant. The swimming pool area is very good, and there are many activities provided throughout the day and evening, but it is difficult to joining with them unless you speak French. Although probably 98% of the people who stay here are native French speakers I can understand this. The first night upon arrival we tried the buffet. Which I thought was expensive for what it was.The food available was not great. We never gave it a second chance. Also there is a large car park and I could never understand why it was always so full considering that there were far more parking spaces than hotel rooms.
Beautiful hotel with easy access to the town
Fabulous stay, great pool and beaches. Ste Luce is also a very cute town.
Solid 3 Star Resort.
The grounds are beautiful and the views from the sea-view rooms are lovely. The prices for the buffets were high and the quality okay. The kids club was great as well as the private playground, table tennis, and beach volleyball. This is a solid 3 star establishment. It is geared more toward residents so cleaning service does not exist if you're doing a short stay. If you want a 5 star resort then go somewhere else. But, if you want a clean beautiful place, decently priced, with a good pool and ocean views then it is perfectly fine.
Comfortable and relaxing
Really enjoyed the property and beach! Would have liked a bit more frequent room cleaning.
More apartment than hotel
The hotel is less of a resort and more of an apartment rental. You don't get maid service, towel replacement, or other traditional hotel services. They don't have a concierge and the front desk didn't seem very knowledgeable about activities or dinner options. The pool is nice and the onsite dive company was good. The bars and restaurants aren't open with real consistency.
Nice hotel in good location
Nice hotel. Good location with a good pool. Nice to have place to make your own food.
Reasonable hotel close to small beach
Nice pool area and bar/reception area near small beach. Room adequate. Food choices limited in an area where not easy to find restaurants (also roads very dark and difficult to navigate at night). At night a snack bar area w thin crust pizza and salad and a moderately priced buffet. Also a superette where can get snacks and even cooking items. Outside on a little patio was a stove top and microwave, but no fridge. Staff w limited English. Can be quite long lines at the reception desk and be sure to try to book activities early as they can fill up. In the morning also a large buffet, but you can just pay for coffee. Room cleaned a couple times a week. Playground for kids, nice pool set up for kids (shallow area).
Safe but misses the mark
We stayed at Village Pierre for a week in a "3 bedroom apartment." First, it is a 2-bedroom apt with a sofa bed in the "living room." Furnishings and decor were stark, beds hard, and pillows terrible. Extremely overpriced at $315 a night, no food included. Everything is in French- menus, information, announcements, etc. A few staff spoke English, but were nice and tried to be helpful. Saw one other American family the whole week. The main building is very loud from the bar below until about 10 p.m. Pool much smaller than in photos, crowded, and only open until dark. Pool bar is not actually a bar, just a place to exchange towels and pool toys. Hot tub was luke warm at best. The only good thing about the dinner buffet (90 Euros for 2 adults, 2 kids) was the wine on tap. Did not do the breakfast buffet. There are so many great restaurants in Sainte-Luce for less money. You can walk the path along the ocean to town or it's a 5 min drive. There is an independently run dive shop on-site with very nice guides. The jet skis and kayaks were also independently run and extra charges. The beach is a public beach, not a private hotel beach, which seems to be the case for all the beaches in Martinique. Overall, for the money, we felt we should have done Club Med with amenities and food included.
Very nice place to say for families! We have 4 people, my son lives the pool!!
Ok but not great
This is probably a good place for families since units have kitchenettes etc but for a getaway for empty nesters like us, not so much. In fairness, we're more into hiking than beaching or hanging around a pool. The grounds are very nice but the buildings are showing their age. The unit had a nice view to the beach and ocean but was very basic. Bed was hard. On another trip we would stay elsewhere.
Clean 3 Star Rms (N.A. Std) -Nice Pool&Grounds
My wife and I spent a week with our 6 year old. We mostly used this resort for its access to nice beaches and large pool and as a launch point for several day trips and hikes around the island. Didn't eat in the resort restos so can't comment on the food (but they are somewhat expensive compared to surrounding restos). The resort has a small convenience store with some staples. Grounds are very nice. The rooms are modest but clean. There's a small outdoor kitchen area on the balcony (small fridge / 2 burner stove / sink / microwave with broiler / coffeemaker / dishwasher, plates&utensils) and it's enough to you prepare your own food. Bring coffee filters, salt, spices, sponge, dishsoap, dishwasher soap, napkins etc..(generally not provided by the resort). If you're coming from North America, remember to bring your European voltage adapters!
2d stay
I have been to Martinique 7 times and this is my second stay at Pierre & Vacances. Check in was smooth, pool and beach are amazing! plenty of things to do and an on-site store for groceries. Outdoor kitchen on balcony and 2 bedrooms with a living room and 1.5 bathrooms in our suite. Air condition was comfortable. Beds are real firm. You either like that or not. Room was only serviced once in 7 days so we ran out of toilet paper, etc.
Beach and activities!
The beach was nice and the activities available were amazing! They do not clean your room though. The kitchen was a great plus and the market they have there was nice!
nice staff rooms need to be cleaned more often buffet needs more choices
a few elements missing to reach US Standards
We had a very pleasant stay. Just be aware that the activities offered at night -music concert, disco parties- can be very loud. If you are not a night clubber, be sure to ask for a room in one of the buildings far from the pool area.
Hotel with potential to become better
Nice location close to the beach. Expedia booked hotel room with see view turned out to be a located at the ground floor. Room has been cleaned twice during our 12 day stay. Personnel at reception desk is very polite and hotel organizes a lot of nice activities. Eating in restaurants in the hotel is very expensive, however it is nice need store and you can buy your own food. Good place to rent a car.
1 star hotel at best...had to switch hotels mid-trip
This hotel was one of the worst places I've ever stayed in that was supposedly a 3 star hotel. In fact, it was so bad, I had to switch hotels after my 2nd night there because I could not tolerate staying there one more night. The food served there was not edible (except for french fries and bread, which is basically all I ate for 2 days). At the main buffet, there were flying insects landing on the food, birds landing on the food and at one point during dinner at least 4 feral cats surrounded my table begging for food and one actually jumped up on an extra seat at the table. Also, my room was very outdated, was on a ground floor looking out on an unmowed field with no deadbolt or latch on the door (and the kitchens are outside on the patio!), was not cleaned once in 2 days, had a dirty-looking comforter on the bed, the clean bath towels smelled like ketchup, and they do not give you clean towels (bath or pool towels) for shorter stays. In addition, they charge a deposit just to use the safe, do not give you free water bottles (not even 1), and charge a deposit if you need to use an outlet adapter. There is also no bell staff that I saw, so forget about anyone helping you with your luggage. Overall, except for a couple of people, most of the staff were not very helpful or friendly. Morever, if a relaxing beach vacation is on your agenda, do not go here because there are no beach chairs or umbrellas on the beach, and the small beach was surrounded by junk and unused, old boats. Finally, unbrellas are hard to come by at the pool, and there is no poolside drink service. I will never stay there again.
Perfect for French speaking children
The activities, pool, and people made this hotel a 5-star for us. Our two granddaughters (10&7) are in French immersion in school, and Pierre&Vacances afforded them tremendous opportunities to use their French all day. They made fun friends, and adults did okay too. Not many staff members are comfortable with English, but we managed. They fully accommodated all our requests to the best of their ability. Food in the restaurants was excellent to my American palate. My request through Travelocity did not get heeded to put our 2 booked rooms near each other, though. I have read that other resorts on Martinique also were not able to schedule rooms nearby. I never could find an email to request that from them, and I was not willing to try to call a phone number in France. One room had a fridge that froze all the food. Beds were very hard. Air conditioning does not go off unless you leave the porch door open. Likewise, if you want it ON, you must keep the sliding door latched!
Great for families
Pros: Only 15-20min drive from airport. Beautiful gated property. Very family friendly-- drop off kids club (free- bring immunization record and sign up in advance.), cute convenience store on site that was decently priced (including fresh fruit and bread), full kitchen (on the balcony!) and dining ware, 5min drive or 15min walk to the fishing village (saint Luce), kids pool with shallow water, kids playground, security out front/bands worn on property made me feel more secure although I think there is public access to the beach and no security entering resort that way. Free wifi in room and public area, cheap (I paid 114/nt through hotels.com and for some reason they upgraded me from studio to two room suite on arrival), 24h front desk. Call if you're checking out in the wee hours of the morning. I had to go back up to my room and dial reception as the reception/lobby doors were locked at 0500. Cons (not really): Basic room (but clean!) No food options after 9p (required some planning ahead) Staff- friendly but English is hit or miss. We got by :). They love kids. I think there is a min night's stay for room cleaning. We are low maintenance so this didn't matter to me. They provide soap and a small shampoo, towelettes, and a few towels on arrival. I knew this ahead of time and brought my own things.
From the outside in.
The outside of this hotel is beautiful. This is my 6th time to Martinique and this was the best place we have stayed. The rooms are dated and not that nice, but we didn't come to Martinique for the rooms. I did not know that there was an all-inclusive option or else we would have gotten that. the meals are expensive, but good.
Convenient location, close to beach, village
Check in quick & efficient, room in good condition, excellent pool, easy walk to beach and village where good food can be found. Stay away from he buffet and go eat in the village - buffet overpriced and not very good.
Perfect location, good hotel, but the food is very bad at the buffet, so cheap. This hotel need a good restaurant "à la carte" open all the time. We love our stay.
Great location
Everything was as expected and it's been overall a good choice. The place is wonderful and people was friendly. Just two problems: being low season, there were not the advertised activities for young people; the idea of providing a wi fi service for an additional fee seems to me medieval.
Very Relaxing
Pierre et Vacance is an idea stay for people who want to relax and just hang around the beach. the layout of the room is very nice. But it is away from the city. The staff is very friendly and there to help.
No clean towels , no food after 9p
The acomadations are terrible and there is a lack of food or concern for those that need food
For the French Only
This so call "Country Club" was the worst resort I have ever stayed in. I attended an event. The resort didnot provide interpreters for thier English speaking guest. Room service per the front desk is provided after 5 days. To have clean towels you are required to purchase tokens and soap and do your own laundry. The bath-room gets wet whenever you shower. There is a hole in the wall next to the toliet. Everyone on television spoke French, English caption was not available. We did not have anywhere to eat. They catered to the event participants only. The hotel staff was very rude. We speak English and they speak French but tend to correct you pronouncation of English words. It rained and water settles on the steps no one clears them. To get internet service was also a challenge.
Excellent resort hotel with many facilities
This is a large resort evidently built for upper middle class French families. There are many attractions for families with children from babies up to about 12 years of age. There are college age group leaders who organize games, dances, little plays, pool contests, musical evenings. American should take a transformer for the 220 Volt current; hotel does not have them. Try Radio shack before leaving. Wall outlets require 3 prongs. The cuisine is excellent and of course French!
Hmmmmm
We arrived late after dark. This hotel village you find easily in the outskirts of Saint Luce. It's a complex of many smaller buildings, you'll find anyyhing you need for an active Holiday in this village. Don't loose your bracelet that you get at the frontgate - or they will not let you in again ;) This was not a place for us cause we are independent travellers used to more intime and less organised hotels. This hotel has no character. For charter people it's ok for a week or two.
Keep Martinique Short. Then go to St. Lucia
I'm glad we went to Martinique because I like to check out different locations. However, my main suggestion is to spend most of your trip on St.Lucia instead. I also recommend having an English - French translation app on your phone, or just make sure you know French, because they don't know English. The "Best Beaches" on Martinique are not as nice as the beaches on St.Lucia. As for the Pierre & Vacances Village Club, the service was reasonable once getting past the translation issue. However, the room was not that great. For a king bed, they took 2 singles and pushed them together. The problem is that either myself or my wife would start to fall into the crack in the middle. The food at the on sight restaurants was not that great but eddible, and the parking was a joke.
This is a resort, not a hotel
Very nice swimming pool. Walking distance to the beach. The studio we stayed in was basic but clean. This is not a hotel, but more like a resort. Extra fee for house cleaning, clean sheets or towels. Beach towels are loaned for 3 days at a time, there is no way to get a clean towel before that. Although there are 3 restaurants in the resort, the meals are quite expensive (even if you buy one of their meal plans, which do not include drinks) and not very good. There are very good and reasonably priced restaurants in the vicinity, so eating out is definitely your best bet. I called ahead of our stay to make sure the kid's club would be open during our stay. Nobody told me to bring my kid's medical record (this is mandatory for kids aged 3-5) until we got there. So my kid could not go to the kids club.
Disappointing experience
The best feature of this hotel is its lovely beach. It is really a resort and not a hotel which we found a big negative. When you enter the property you are wrist banded and this must stay on for your entire stay. The resturant only serves a buffet for all meals and we much prefer cooled to order meals instead of piles of food in a warming tray. So we ate at nearby resturants for allbofbiur meals. Saint Luce had a fun strip of beachfront resturants and its only a 6 minute drive away. The resort is patronized almost exclusively by young French families - every other person seemed to be pushing a stroller. The room was quite small and similar to an American budget hotel. The grounds were well kept and nice.
A week in warmth and relaxation
The hotel was surprising in many ways. It lacked service (e.g. sheets not changed the entire week, room cleaning only once every 4 days and poorly done, self-service with respect to baggage). That said, the location was superb, the beach marvelous, the staff friendly, the food acceptable, and the price a bargain compared to other hotels. We reserved to adjoinng suites, but did not get them for the first two days (presumably the management "lost" one of the pre-paid reservations).
Management and staff are extremely great to deal with. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The only negative would be that the bedding is only changed once per week this should be changed to at least twice per week.
What a great hotel!!!!!!
Beautiful hotel, with a great staff. Very friendly and attentive to guest. Location is great. The rooms were clean, the grounds were clean, and the area seem very safe. . I had a room where the shower was not dispensing hot water. I complained to the front desk and the next morning two friendly gentlemen appeared at my room and begin to make the repairs. After the done the hot water was repaired. I had problem with my personal shaver, and these gentlemen also offered to help fix the shaver for me. I stayed for 3 night and 4 days. I asked that my twin beds be replaced with a queen and it was done by time I got back for visiting the beach! Each time I was at the front desk each of the staff members were very professional, warm, friendly and smiling.
Best in the Caribbean
The experience in Martinique was breathtaking. The people were friendly and you felt welcome. My fiance and I made the best of the weekend. I had a little trouble with language but my fiance is fluent with creole so we were ok. The only issue was the shower stall was moldy and was cleaned but still moldy. All in all wonderful getaway and a smooth transition during travel. We would visit again but not on a weekend more like a seven day getaway. Best in the Caribbean
A quiet and pretty beach resort, good for families
The hotel grounds are very pleasant. A pedestrian plaza runs between the buildings, while grassy lawns with palm trees and singing birds surround the cluster of buildings. The rooms have large porches or balconies with mini-kitchens and dining tables. In addition to our large balcony, we had three rooms--a large living room with a sleeper sofa, a bedroom with a double bed, and a very small room with two twin beds. The hotel grounds are adjacent to uncrowded beaches with nice sand. We prepared most of our own meals using our mini-kitchen, but we liked the buffet restaurant at the hotel the one time we had dinner there. My one complaint is that we had maid service only once during our 8-day stay, and they did not supply us with additional bathroom soap. Many of the hotel staff spoke some English, but things will be easier for you if you speak some French. It is very useful to have a rental car if you are staying at this hotel; we used our car to drive to supermarkets and to drive to various hiking trails (e.g., the Caravelle peninsula, and the Mt. Pelee volcano). Overall, it was an excellent hotel, and we would stay there again.
Beautiful Grounds
We were so glad we chose this resort! By far, the nicest resort in the area or that we saw all over the island. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and well kept. We appreciated the fact that there was a grocery store, laundry, several restaurants, scuba and water recreation on site. All of the staff was extremely helpful and courteous as our French is limited. The only recommendation we could make is opening the bar a bit earlier than 4pm to serve cocktails. Thanks Pierre and Vacances Resort for a wonderful honeymoon!
Among the Best Hotels in Sainte-Luce!
Beautiful Hotel but very French so they don't give you new bath towels every day (only every 7th day so for most visitors there will be no change of towels). Soap, shampoo and the like are very limited. Bring your own towels (and soap) or be prepared to use the on site Laundromat or pay extra for new bath towels every few days. The beach towels are too short for anyone approaching or exceeding 6 feet but those can be changed daily. Despite all this we will stay there again next time we visit Martinique since these are minor annoyances compared with the beauty of the hotel and grounds. Ask for a room on the 3rd Floor of the Sainte Lucie (022) is a good choice for six. The rooms have fabulous views of the pool and the Caribbean. The grounds are immaculate and the rooms are in excellent shape. Two small beaches are on the grounds with lots of activities for adults and children alike. Rentals of Kayaks etc are available on site. Sainte Luce is within 20 minutes or less of Trois Islets (in one direction) as well as Sainte Anne where the fabulous beaches are located (in the other direction) and not any further from the other parts of the island than if you stayed elsewhere. Overall a great place to stay for a week. Most of the employees don't speak anything but French as a practical matter so be prepared! They are very friendly however and try hard to please. The idea that the island is hostile to Americans and other non-French persons is nonsense in our view.
Knowledge of the French language is beneficial
Not much time was spent using the hotel's facilities due to extensive travel around Martinique with our rental car. No problems were experienced dealing with the hotel staff.
A LittleTreasure
This is an attractive garden resort with self catering accommodation blocks. There is a supermarket on the site which stocks a lot, at reasonable cost and a laundry. There is also a pizza take away on site which appeared very popular. The restaurant is self service Go early if you want the widest choice! Overall if offers good value for money but there are lots of rules enforced by friendly staff ! Beware that a sizeable deposit is taken per room before you are given your key and remote control for the television and you have to stay three days or more before you get a pool towel! Check-in is not allowed before 4pm. The resort offers a lot of activities for everyone, The pool is big, excellent and clean and has a soft drinks bar poolside. There are lots of water sports, aqua aerobics, a disco, fashion shows in the evening and a creche for babies. Great if you speak French and know what is going on, but most of the staff can speak English too so you can always ask.
We like the size and surroundings of the apartment. It was clean and renovated. The pool is perfect and the distance to the ocean is just a few minutes by foot. Checkin starts at 4 pm and check out time is noon. The next grocery store can be reached in 20 minutes. A nice place for families. There were many with small kids.
Due to the curfew, we relied on the offer of local restaurants. Unfortunately, both breakfast and dinner are boring and tasteless. When you are in France, you expect something else. Even the local fruits were unripe. Unfortunately, the restaurant is made from the cheapest ingredients, which does not suit the quality of the place.
