An exceptional find - we wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Our room was clean, spacious and full of character. The air conditioning worked well and provided a welcome retreat from the afternoon sun. Best of all was the staff, who were simply delightful.
Quaint farmhouse setting, close to Lucca. Great breakfast and helpful staff. Plenty of parking. Nice pool for Warner weather.
Great parking but a little isolated. Friendly staff
Huge disappointment
This B&B was really disappointing. When we arrived in our room, there was a huge puddle of water on the floor. We informed the front desk and they brought towels to mop it up, but didn't switch us to a new room. Over night, the air conditioner kept leaking, forming a new puddle of water in the morning. We found out in the morning that this was an ongoing issue they were aware of but hadn't fixed, and they were planning to move their B&B to a new property because of these issues. The furniture was generally run down too. When we went swimming in the pool, the water had a horrible chemical taste that coated our teeth and after ten minutes we had to get out for fear that it was unsafe. The pool chairs were also damaged. Overall, this property is run down and was incredibly disappointing.
Beautifully restored old stone building. Fantastic breakfasts. Lovely staff.
The hotel is gorgeous. The grounds the pool the buildings, all of that could not have been better. If you don't mind walking its great, but your aways away from Lucca. Restaurants ect.
Plan on having a car to get around.... very cute hotel!
5 stars Villa Corte Degli Dei
Fantastic, the owner and staff were very helpful.Just 15mins walk to the city of Lucca from the Villa.Loved it and will book again. Our room was very clean with fresh towels each day.
This was a very nice clean place to stay. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. I especially loved the cats and dog at the B&B. Staff all did a great job. I would stay here again.
Great B&B, quick walk to the walled city
We stayed 2 nights and had a great time. Stefano was courteous and helpful, with good suggestions for food and sights. Breakfast and cafe' were included and were delicious. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the gated courtyard, with views of city and surrounding hills. Gated parking lot was perfect - we parked our car securely then walked 15 minutes to the gates of the walled city.
It’s lovely! The only thing is the rooms are not very soundproofed so you can hear everything (there are some lovely children below us!) and the beds make a lot of noise.
Lucca is amazing and this little B and B was great good staff good room the only real negative is it is about a 20 min walk to the old part of the city were the majority of the restaurants etc are
Beautiful place, people friendly and helpful.Iwould recommend to all
Despite a grumpy and unhelpful front desk staff, this hotel on the edge of Lucca is convenient, well organized and walkable (about 15 mins) to the old city center. The room was nice (if a bit odd-shaped), everything worked and was clean, the breakfast was good (although they limit you to one cappucino per person (you pay for additional ones). There is a large outdoor swimming pool and abundant lounge chairs. You can probably find a hotel closer to the center, but this has a country feel and the streets are safe and easily walked.
Excellent but shame about the rants
Very good, just the strange situation that the place isn't manned after 5pm and they seem to take exception if you arrive after then. Isn't this what a hotel does? The various notices regarding this cut-off I actually found quite offensive - apart from that it was very good and would actually stay again - beautiful building and lovely garden with swimming pool and good breakfasts
Nice B&B experience with outdoor pool approx 15 mins walk from lucca city walls
Good B&B just outside Lucca
Within a 15-20mins walk into Lucca this is an ideal B&B for a short stay break, especially as it has the added benefit of a swimming pool! The place is a little quirky and set out on its own so you do need to walk into the city or have a car to get around if you're not keen on using public transport. We stayed as a family of four for five nights and had an enjoyable time, making use of the bus service to visit Florence and the train for Pisa. We enjoyed walking into Lucca to explore the city in the mornings and returned for an afternoon by the pool before going back into Lucca for the evening, where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. We were able to get a taxi back most nights rather than walk and they ranged between 10 & 15 euros; as they did from the train station. All in all Villa Corte is an ideal base for visiting Lucca and nearby areas.
Great hotel great staff great pool would recommend to anyone staying in the area.
Lovely quiet hotel, easy walking to Lucca walls!
Unique
Fantastic hotel as spacious and unique in decor, Friendly staff and fabulous and delicious cooking at breakfast. Lovely pool and close walking distance to the old city.
Nice and quiet good pool area
Was first shown to room at very top of hotel up three flights of stairs with no lift. Explained I have problems with knee and would struggle to get up and down with or without suitcase. Immediately offered us a ground floor separate chalet which was great.
A stunning romantic place
A stunning romantic place. Good breakfast. Good value for money
Cozy attic room just outside the walls of Lucca
We spent 3 nights here-perfect for a weekend getaway. The room was comfortable and cozy, the staff friendly, and it is very close to Lucca. The only drawbacks are that the shower stall is very tiny(understandably so given the space) and the walls are thin (when we had neighbors we heard everything 😫).
Four night stay in Lucca
Overall a lovely stay combining Lucca with lazing by pool. Hotel (size of property and no of guests means larger than your average B&B) is 20 mins walk to centre, so walking in and out twice a day can keep you fit. Multi tasking staff accommodating and helpful and work very hard running between pool bar, breakfast, cleaning and check in. Breakfast good and plentiful. Top bedrooms several flights of stairs and small attic windows as in eaves so if you don't like stairs and want a light and airy room don't book these. Lovely stay, would return.
Such a beautiful place to stay - utterly relaxing.
Beautiful place to stay - lovely pool for daytime relaxing. Short walk to main centre in Lucca which we did on an evening - about 20 mins. Lucca is fantastic. Breakfasts were very nice and staff lovely. The one point I would feedback on improving would be having staff on pool bar from 12 noon to 5pm as the people around the pool were constantly looking for staff for food and drinks, which we experienced also. On the whole the place was excellent and with this small change it would be exceptional.
Nice but cramped
Apartment number 15 This is a nice place to stay it has a really nice big pool Breakfast was ok, seemed to be a really big choice but not quite what you wanted (I usually have this problem do it's probs just me) Luca is a brisk 17 minute walk which we did twice each day We had apartment number 15, it has its own private garden although no gates which went straight to the car park so not so good for the kids. The one major problem we did have was that the apartment we had was far too small We need a double and two Singles but we got a double and a sofa bed. This was not ideal (2 adults, girl 13, boy 9) The room itself just wasn't big enough for 4 people of any size to stay, there was not enough cupboard space to put your clothes, there was no place to actually put all your cases, we hid 3 of them under the bed but had to drag them out to get fresh clothes. Not sure about other apartments but apartment 15 is too small for 4
This place is full of character.
Probably the best accommodation we've stayed in anywhere.
Nice accommodation near Luca
We stayed at this bed & breakfast for 4 nights with 2 other couples & all had a great time. Our room was decorated in a medieval theme & was clean & comfortable. The pool is fantastic & we were able to buy lunch on site. It's about 20 min walk into the centre of Lucca, a taxi costa about 8 to 10 euros each way. The staff are extremely friendly & helpful. Would highly recommend.
Fab one night stay at a lovely villa. Swimming pool great size. Breakfast was plentiful and good quality. Easy walk into Lucca. Would definitely recommend for a weekend not so much a week.
Lovely Place
Lovely, relaxing stay. Great pool, friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast to start the day.
Great value and ambiance for money.
After our first night in a very nice but small room they offered us the independent bungalo which was great for a 5 night stay. The breakfast, pool, free parking and AC room was great. Like most Italian hotels the bed was ok. It was just a short walk to town but in the evening we drove to a parking lost just outside the wall which was free after 8 pm.
An amazing place to stay. Didn't realizw there was no elevator!
Grate Hotel
Lovely, very big room staff very helpful could not be better.
Maybe not in winter?
You get what you pay for and this was cheap but room was cold and appeared to be an attic room although we paid for a normal double (probably not a winter location to stay at?) Shower leaked faster than it sprayed. However staff were great & very helpful & friendly with blankets etc and a good breakfast.
Very clean with real character. Good breakfast.
Very near to Lucca and sights. Staff very nice and very helpful. Beds ok. Has lots of character and good breakfast served by a lovely man.
Quant and quirky
Beautiful little B and B just outside Lucca city centre.
Lovely people. good breakfast. quiet. a good walk into town but not much pavement. Taxi at the door in about 5 mins, under 10 Euros each way.
Great place great pool and one of the best breakfasts in Italy. Actually prepared food not all packaged. Good coffee
Villa Corte Lucca Italy
Great stay, ideal location friendly staff
Near everything even without a car
Really great people, facilities and breakfast great as well. Would recommend this place. Easy to walk into the walled city for sightseeing and busses. Train station within walking distance as well.
Room at the Top
We were upgraded as the hotel wasn't full and thought our room was peaceful, spacious and clean
Good hotel overall
Nice hotel within easy walking distance of lucca - good breakfast variety in the mornings. Only con is that the internal walls appeared to be thin and although we had no issues on our first 2 nights, the third night next doors television and chat was audible for a few hours despite not being overly loud. This isn't anyone's fault, just an observation.
Great stay in Lucca
This hotel is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive to the historic walled part of Lucca. The hotel itself is peaceful, quiet and has lovely grounds, but once you're in the old city, you'll find lots of shopping, dining and sightseeing. The best thing about this hotel, however, was the staff. From our arrival to departure, they were extremely helpful and very friendly. I'd go back just to see them again. It was also a great value, and included a good breakfast.
Great little spot close to the Old City
Great hotel within easy walking distance to the old city. Breakfast choice was quite good.
March family reunion
This hotel is located 15 to 20 min walking distance from old city.
Fantastic Acoomondations
Fantastic place to stay. A bit of a walk from the train station but well worth the effort. Would stay here again and the breakfast was great.
Disappointing
I am very disappointed that hotel.com let me book a hotel at 10pm and the hotel closes at 5:30pm. As I'm in a road trip, I've been booking my hotels as I get in the city. Surprisingly I was able to book the hotel at 10pm and the hotel was closed. I had to book another hotel and pay for another hotel. On the following morning I went to the same hotel to try to cancel it and get my money back and the manager wasn't available and the staff was very rude accusing me that I should know the check is was from 2pm to 5:30pm. Very disappointing
Nice hotel with a good atmosphere
Very cosy and pretty hotel with a lovely pool and good breakfast. Felt very authentic.
Quirky, well presented hotel, really great.
What a hidden gem. We have just travelled all over Italy (10 hotels) and this was definitely one of the nicest. We what I can only describe as a medieval style apartment, complete with four poster bed and helmet with chain mail bedside lamps. We had a kitchen a four poster double bed, another double bed and a single bed which folded out of a wall cabinet. The room was divided with robust wooden trusses and stone walls. There were remote control velux windows and very efficient air conditioning (other 4 star hotels we stayed at air con was rubbish). I know others have complained on this site about having thin walls in their room and being able to hear everything in the next room but our walls were solid stone and we had no problems. The pool area was lovely and well maintained and had a view of the near by mountains. This is where you ate breakfast which was also very good. A 10 mins stroll away is Lucca which is a beautiful walled city, do hire a bike only 3 euros each and cycle the city walls. Pisa, 30 mins on bus, Florence, 1 hour on the train. Great hotel, great area, great holiday!!
Great Location
Lovely Villa with pool, just 10 minutes from the City Walls of Lucca
Too far from main sites, long walk to train statio
Nice villa, but away from everything. Phone never worked, no one was available at the reception impossible to call a taxi due to a broken phone and no personnel.
Villa Corte Degli Deli in Lucca
Beautiful guesthouse with very friendly staff. I stayed in the superior double which was definitely worth the extra money!! Very clean pool and chill out area beside it which included hammocks and sofas. Would definitely stay here again.
Servizio gentilissimo Colazione perfetta
Ottimo, personale giovane e cordiale, pulizia, ambienti suggestivi, prima colazione very good !
vue imprenable
Anbefales
Super service, veldig hyggelig vertskap. Sentralt beliggende, stille og fredelig.
Veldig koselig, og hyggelig personale
Supert sted, veldig hyggelig personale .
Very nice and cosy concept with the knight theme
Posto davvero bello!! Caratteristico!! Servizio molto buono! Frigo bar rotto! Assenza di ascensore!!
eccellente
eccezionale ambiente. tutto ok . penso di ritornarci.
Molto bene
Reception molto gentile e disponibile. Bravi
Bella struttura completamente in stile rustico toscano a 10 minuti dal centro storico di Lucca .
Villa Corte Degli Dei | Hotel in Lucca | Travala.com
We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and the room was comfortable. A few things to note, though: - the hotel is a good 15m walk from the walls of Lucca, so you need to plan your days as it’s not easy to pop back during the day, especially in the heat of August. Bike hire is extra - 35 euro a day. - the pool is lovely - comfortable and a lovely space to relax. However, it’s only open from 10am - 7pm which was a shame as it’s not possible to have a swim before breakfast and then head out for the day. Worth bearing in mind if you have children who might be raring to get in the pool first thing! - no bar open in the evening and nowhere nearby to eat or drink, so be prepared to be out in Lucca in the evenings Overall the hotel was lovely and we enjoyed our stay, but the pool restrictions and the location are worth bearing in mind.
