Fantastic hotel even though it’s a 3 star rated. Artistic and very nearby amenities and parks. All are walkable distance.
Really special
The staff were extremely helpful as my son needed to see doctor. They did all arrangements and called taxi. The room is the best we have found on our travels so far, and spotless. The service in the lounge was amazing. I wish we were staying longer. Will come back again if possible.
Very nice hotel conveniently located for Oyama Shrine and Castle park, as well as for Omicho market. The rooms were clean and pleasant, with nicely sized bathrooms with a separate wetroom for the shower and bath. Our balcony didn't have a view, it looked onto the back of another building but it was quiet and still nice to have. The staff were very polite and welcoming. They greeted us every night with an invitation to enjoy the complimentary soba noodles and a cup of tea which we enjoyed on several nights. A very pleasant hotel that I would stay at again.
Very clean and well appointed. Beds comfortable. Shower/ furo room, amazing! Close to everything.
Very friendly staff Location is great.
UAN Kanazawa was a beautiful stay nestled near Omicho Market and the Kanazawa Castle Park. The staff was helpful and welcoming at every moment, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and there's complimentary soba at 9pm -- thank you for making our first trip to Kanazawa so great!
The staff was fantastic. They were willing to help and answered all my questions.
Very nice staff and a nice quiet boutique hotel
Great Japanese breakfast
This hotel was great, loved everything about it. Definitely recommend staying here.
This clean and comfortable hotel is a 15 minute walk from the train station and very close to most of the main attractions in Kanazawa.
Much nicer than I had thought. Excellent wetroom with deep tub and a powerful shower. Dyson hairdryer provided. Quiet and comfortable with private balcony. Would love to stay again
The hotel was a great way to ease into a Japanese cultural experience. Our room blended both western and Japanese cultures well which was its aim. Close to parks and temples and the market.
Free bicycles for guests to use & great location…walkable to the castle, park & market…
Really liked our stay!
Very nice hotel. Great room with yacuzzi bathtub and view to a temple. Also a nice perk was the possibility for an early check-in which is very rare in Japan. Also free drinks and small meals in the lobby was a nice extra.
Great staff and wonderful property
UAN Kanazawa was exceptional. Above all were the staff and the location which was perfect for all sightseeing and great dining options!
LOVE this place. Feels like a 4 star hotel—large rooms, very clean and modern, great amenities—but it’s only rated as 3 star. I would book this place again without hesitation. Great location even walking back and forth through the snow (it snowed when we stayed). Staff very helpful. Most of Kanazawa has limited English speaking skills but staff will use google translate to help out :)
Friendly staff, clean, elegant and a convenient location. 5 stars all the way around.
Amazing! The room was comfortable and warmth.
とにかく最高でした!!! 接客も非常に丁寧だし部屋もとにかくきれい 夜のお蕎麦や日本酒の飲み比べ、朝食もとても美味しいし立地も良かったです!
Perfect place to stay in Kanazawa. Lovely atmosphere, kind staff, clean and elegant lobby and rooms - photoworthy on their own. Nice art display and library. Would definitely stay there again. Thank you for having us
Excellent service at superb location
Very nice lobby area with a sake bar. Room is clean and new
Excellent location. Very close to omicho market and walking distance to Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen. Excellent staff. Super courteous and helpful. We did not try any meal at the hotel but the breakfast looked really delicious and they provide free soba between 9-11pm which seemed to be enjoyed by other guests. Rooms are on the small side but not atypical in Japan. Very clean. Beds are comfortable. Jetted bathtub. There is a laundry room and very small but functional gym too. Highly recommended.
The staff was amazing. So kind and very hospitable. They brought us tea while we checked in and lent us an umbrella on our walk. They drew us a map pf the areas nearby we wanted to visit. They just seemed to go above and beyond what we asked for.
Personal service.Could not fault the staff, ambiance, style of buiding. Very sylish but welcoming and comfortable. Special extras like soba noodles at 9 pm. Will definatly goback. Position also convenient to major attractions.
Couldn’t ask for a better hotel!
Great hotel! Besides a very spacious room, the staff is amazing. Can’t wait to stay there next time.
New and Clean
This hotel is new and clean. I stayed in a twin bedroom and the room was extremely clean. Staff was very helpful as well. The room key was slightly difficult to use but not such a big issue.
Perfect hotel with Japanese & Western touches
Uan Kanazawa is a lovely hotel. The service is great, the employees are helpful & kind & make every effort to make your stay comfortable. The room is well-designed, bed comfortable. Great attention to details, such as it was the quietest room I’ve ever stayed in. Doors glided softly, couldn’t hear the shower from bed area. Didn’t have breakfast, but there was very good coffee available, along with the best cookie/cracker. Location is close to the castle & convenient. Hope to get to Kanazawa again so I can stay longer at Uan. Highly recommend!
Vacation in Japan
Great hotel in a convenient location: close to market, transportation, Kanazawa Castle and Kenroku-en Garden. Hotel was built in 2017 so it has all modern amenities but also all Japanese traditional features. Our room had a small veranda with bamboo plants. Beautiful place to have your morning coffee. The hotel personnel was amazing: washing machine messed up our laundry and wouldn't dry it. Two ladies were ironing our clothes for a few hours and constantly apologizing for the whole situation. This attitude we've seen everywhere: Japanese people really want you to enjoy the service, either it's a hotel or restaurant. Very nice people. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.
This place is amazing!!! Upon entry, you are greeted by staff wearing lovely geisha dresses and asked to take a seat, they all speak English very well. A variety of juices, coffee and water are always available complimentary as well as a little supper surprise. The rooms are beautifully made up, very spacious and even have a little outdoor area, ours overlooked the shrine that was at the end of the street. Although we didn’t use it, they have a mobile phone you can use, bike and umbrella rental (all free of charge I believe). Now let me tell you about the breakfast! We opted for western style as we had been in Japan for a little over two weeks and needed some home comforts, this breakfast was amazing! Every ingredient was specifically sourced and it was well worth it, it all tasted delicious (I really liked the soups!). We would most definitely come here again and suggest this place to any and all travellers to try out, you won’t be disappointed 😍
UAN
Great stay at Kanazawa.
The cleanest hotel i've ever stayed at. The location is fantastic and has very curated and tasteful items. I bought a small gold tray that were made by a local artist as well as some potteries.
Beautiful Japanese space, comfortable room
A modern Japanese boutique hotel with beautiful design and comfortable rooms. Great bathroom, fantastic service (check-in done at the table with a welcome drink, rather than at the counter), wonderful lobby service (drinks, free soba at night). Only weak point for light sleepers: the air-conditioning is quite noisy and has a bright light.. Overall, definitely recommend to stay!
Definitely stay here
Amazing hotel, lovely staff, well located , ideal place to stay when in Kanazawa!
Simply fantastic - beautiful hotel, impeccable service, great location right next to the Castle park. Can not recommend highly enough.
This was a delightful, small hotel. It was centrally located and very easily walkable to parks, castle, old historic sections of Kanazawa, and markets.
Hotel design is exquisite, from lobby and common areas to room design. Clean uncluttered esthetics. Bathroom is spacious by Japanese standards for hotels in this price range In Japan.
The Uan is the best! The location was perfect for Kenrokuen and the 21st Century Art Museum. The staff was incredibly welcoming and able to assist with anything we needed!
Very good location, very pleasant and neat looking, spacious accommodation, excellent value for the price. They also have free juices and coffee 24 hours a day at the lobby. The only annoyance was that when we checked in, we were told that breakfast reservations were sold out.
Great stay at an excellent establishment
An excellent establishment in every aspect, our stay there was so very much enjoyable. The room was great, the service was beyond expectation and the breakfast was one of the best I've ever had at a Japanese establishment. There are all kinds of shops and a market within 5 minutes walk where you can get some of the best seafood available in Japan. I would certainly stay there again when I visit Kanazawa next time.
Relaxing lobby to return to after an active day with complimentary tea, coffee, juice and treats.
This property was an amazing find. This is only my second time to Kanazawa but this was an absolutely amazing experience. From the check in, to the room, the location, everything was perfect. The staff was friendly and I have am already making this a must for my next trip to the area. The room itself shocked me on how spacious and open it was. When you enter, you already have a area to place your coat/jacket, hang clothes, put your bags and shoes. Then when you enter the actual room area you see directly past the bed, bathroom, extra sink, and out to the balcony. A large soaking tub was a must after all the walking, and being able to sit inside and outside on the balcony made enjoying the room so much more of an experience. At night they had a free soba from 9-11 along with free tea/coffee/water/juice all day. They had seasonal snacks on the counter with the drinks that were also really tasty. Of all the places on my trip, this was my favorite property.
A gem in Kanazawa at a great location
One of nicest hotels that I have stayed in Japan over the years, v spacious room for the price level in a great location minutes from the fish market (and restaurants), the Kanazawa Castle & Kenrokuen Gardens, 25 min walk to Higashi Chaya old street area. Complementary fresh ground coffee & tea w snacks 24hrs in the lobby lounge, and complementary soba noodle soup after 9pm !! Great bath with spa bath and shower. Great free wifi. Coin operated laundrette facilities. This hotel is just 16 mths old, modern w Japanese touches. Very friendly reception service. Will stay here again !
Very clean, modern and convenient facility located few blocks away from the market, gardens and museums.
It was clean, minimalist and the amenities were wonderful. They even provided free soba at nighttime. The room was nice and fairly spacious with beautiful design. I would stay again.
Perfect Walking Point for Kanazawa
I can't recommend this hotel enough! In two weeks travelling around Japan this was by far the best hotel I stayed in. Aside from the fact that the location is perfect for exploring Kanazawa (easy walking distance to everywhere you'll want to visit) the hotel itself is lovely and clean, the room comfortable. They also provide a "Handy" device which is free to take out with you so you have access to 4G data without having to use your phone for google translate or maps for example. The only slight downside is I had a family in the room above me whose children were stomping & running about the noise was a problem ... but it's just luck of the draw with who ends up in the rooms surrounding you in hotels so just how it goes!
Modern clean design and special room. We will stay again Complimentary diva at night in the lounge was very tasty!
We liked everything about the room from the entry way to the lanai. The room was designed well. The location near the castle, gardens and market was so convenient.
Nice and comfortable stay
the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially helped me to call the restaurants to reserve seats.
Modern Japanese hotel in great location. I wish we could have stayed longer.
Location perfect - great hotel with lovely staff
Great hotel with lovely staff and nice facilities. Location is perfect. About a 20 min walk from station but close to gardens and market. Hotel is clean, lots of complimentary drinks and breakfast was huge! Too huge almost. Only issue we had were that the pillows were hard. Otherwise pretty great.
Can't wait to return
Impeccable service and great location to get to most tourist sites
Very nice hotel to me.
Truly fantastic hotel. Wish I’d stayed longer!
I’m currently on a month-long trip around Japan and UAN Kanazawa is far and away the best hotel I have stayed at (possibly ever?). The property appears to be brand new- everything is spotless and as modern as things come. The rooms are big and well-furnished, the beds are very comfy and the bathrooms are just terrific- brand new Toto, shower room and separate jet bath. I had a terrace room which had its own little zen garden on the balcony as well. There are also plenty of powerpoints around!! Most Japanese hotels will only give you one or two in an incovenient spot in the room, so this is very welcomed indeed. The hotel staff are wonderful; English is spoken here and they strike the perfect balance between being present and leaving you to go about your day. There is a drinks vending machine, laundry facilities and gym on site, as well as a lounge/bar- free tea and soba from 9:00PM. The front door is locked overnight but just swipe your key to get back in. The hotel is right next to 2 major Shinto shrines and is only a 10 minute walk from Kanazawa castle along some really beautiful streets. The train station (stunning!) is about 15 minutes’ walk along fairly flat streets, although avoid walking during peak times if you can as it’s a bit of a rat race with a suitcase. Overall I can’t praise this hotel enough. I just wish I’d been wiser with my itinerary and stayed here longer than some other cities. I will absolutely be back here again one day.
Exceptional staff! Room smaller than expected and layout made it feel cramped. Very well appointed though and perfect for shorter stay than we had. But again exceptional staff.
Beautiful hotel that needs better staff
This hotel is gorgeous. We were on our honeymoon and the comfort and beauty of the hotel room felt like a treat. The bathroom set up is great. The room is spacious and stylish. The lobby is pretty. They leave drinks and treats out all day and I got addicted to the ginger cookies. Bonus: this hotel has a laundry room! Had to doc a star though because service is spotty (at best). Examples: When we first got there, the welcome girl intercepted us before we even got to the main area. She told us that we couldn’t check in until 3 pm (it was 1:30). She didn’t take our names or invite us to sit on the couches while she checked for availability. To top it off, she let the next couple that arrived with bags waltz all the way into the sitting area AND walk up to the front desk. The front desk clerk checked them in right away. I don’t think she expected us to stick around and use the restrooms to freshen up so she ran over to us embarrassed that we saw and told us we could check in if we waited 10 minutes. Not sure what was really going on there. Also how the staff here clean the rooms is weird. We came in one day around 3 or 4 and got up to our floor. Half of the rooms’ doors were wide open and cleaning stuff was strewn EVERYWHERE in the hallway. It didn’t really feel like the staff respect people’s belongings or safety. Generally, it would be good if you speak a little Japanese because we found the staff’s English to be pretty weak.
Chic and comfortable hotel near many attractions. Free beverages and soba.
Steps away from all the major attractions.
It’s a very modernist take on the ryokan experience, and serenity right on the doorsteps of all the action. You should visit just for the design and architecture, but the service and provisions are very thoughtful too.
Beautiful hotel. Check in was easy. The free noodles after 9pm and the sake sample for ¥800 was lovely. The laundry room on the ground floor was also handy, although the dryer function doesn’t work very well. The room was spacious, bed comfortable and the bath salts the hotel provides is divine! Would love to come back.
From the moment you walk in, you realize this is going to be a unique stay... and in a good way! The place is an oasis in already-quiet Kanazawa. It is meticulously clean, modern and very Japanese in it's operation and aesthetic. The room was comfortable, quiet and the bathroom was generously sized and included a soaker tub and space for a traditional shower. The gourmet breakfast offered both Western and Japanese options. All this, just 15 mins from the station and major sites.
Fantastic hotel
Wonderful hotel, staff go out of their way to be helpful. Great coffee, iced roasted green tea & a variety of juices available 24 /7. Fantastic breakfast. Large well appointed rooms a very special hotel. We will stay here again.
Good value..good service
Excellent value for Japan..big modern rooms with reasonable sized bathroom..big picture windows so nice and light Staff were very helpful Location is quite good and beside subway and bus stop.. Breakfast was only downside as just set plate of food with no choice of fruit just half a banana and a quarter of orange on side of hot breakfast plate ...went for just the toast first day and didn’t bother the other three days..but to be fair you can choose to have Asian breakfast downstAirs (closed Sunday and Monday) Some restaurants and bars around for evening but about a 20-25 min walk or bus ride to main entertainment area or subway ride to central city
Outstanding hotel blending modern and traditional
This hotel is really, really impressive. It is new, gorgeous, and blends elements of a traditional Japanese experience and styling with modern decor and western comforts. This was our favorite hotel during our family trip through Japan. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Most visitors will probably not drive there, but if you do (as we did), just be mindful that the car park they recommend using is not the one that is right next to the hotel; UAN has a deal with one about three minutes walk away. The hotel is a short walk from a number of excellent restaurants and a shopping street, and walking distance from the gardens and castle. We were really happy with UAN, and would absolutely stay there again, and recommend it to any friend visiting Kanazawa.
Beautifully designed hotel with excellent staff
The challenge of finding the obscure front door was met with a 'wow' factor of the reception which doubled as a lounge and breakfast area. The clean cut interior was beautiful and the wow factor continued all the way to the room - spacious, immaculate, minimalist and tasteful. Customer service was excellent. Michiko-san was particularly helpful and her efforts to find us a restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday was very much appreciated. Not only did she take into account our preferences of food choices, she also arranged a surprise birthday cake (with candles) ! Breakfast can be a challenge for the western palate. Don't expect the normal crispy bacon & eggs combo. However, the hotel accommodated our needs when we requested for some changes to their standard 'western breakfast'. We love this beautifully designed hotel and would definitely stay here again.
Great location
The hotel is clean, serene and very close to all places to visit. Few minutes walk to all. Staff are very helpful. They hand you a list of places to eat but bare in mind that nothing is in English. It took us some affront to identify the restaurants which were on the list as the signs are in Japanese. The breakfast is very big. Be carefull with dietary restrictions. We don’t eat pork but we could not explain that on both days. They tell you that they understand and it is ok but still bring you big chunks of pork sausage and bacon or bacon bits in soup. When you point out and ask for a plate to remove the items they think that you will eat them from separate plate. In regards to the boys in your soup, they may say “but they are small” as if being small makes a difference. It also goes for vegetarian dishes. You may find bits of pork hidden in there. Also, don’t think that you will have a view of you book a room with balcony. Balcony is blocked by a wall. Not much space to store clothing, other than a small area to hang few items. Otherwise a nice, friendly, clean and centrally olaced hotel.
Family stay in Kanazawa
Amazing location in the heart of everything, clean, spacious and stylish rooms. Would stay again.
A pleasant hotel in a great location. The staff was very helpful.
Super Trendy Hotel in Kanazawa
This hotel far exceeded our expectations. We didn’t know what to expect from a “boutique hotel”, but UAN blew us away from their modern lobby (and complimentary drinks) to the beautiful room we had. Truly an experience.
Stylish boutique hotel and is super clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They serve free hot soba noodles from 9-11 pm!!
Highly Recommend
What an excellent hotel! From the ultra clean design, to the comfort of the room, to friendliness of staff - everything was perfect. The hotel is perfectly situated - within walking distance of beautiful sights and excellent restaurants. I cannot recommend it enough - would love to go back soon!
Modern hotel, reasonably priced, well located
Well located new hotel which is right next to Kanazawa Castel and Omicho Market.
Beautiful new hotel...loved the deck off our room. Staff went out of their way to be helpful, assisting us to make dinner reservations Would highly recommend this hotel
good hotel, convenient location
attractive layout and Japanese decor situated in a part of Kanazawa accessible via JR bus and therefore convenient for JR Railpass users. Complimentary green tea and local signature cookies a nice touch.
Beautiful hotel
Not a seasoned traveller but this hotel is great! A good location a short walk or taxi ride from the train station & major sights. Beautiful room & facilities & great staff. Loved the wet room bathroom. Bed divinely comfortable.
Wonderful Japanese hospitality experiencr
Esthetically pleasing, artistically styled lobby, dining area and lounge. Small fitness room, convenient guest laundry, library. Excellent location for walking and exploring. The breakfast with choice of Japanese or Western option is expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The staff is friendly and very capable.
AWESOME
The room and inclusions were awesome! The rates are not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for and more.
Designer hotel at the heart of Kazanwa
If you like minimalist Japanese modern design, you will love this hotel. We have traveled the world and stayed at many design focused properties, and we were impressed by this hotel especially considering the price. Fantastic location for exploring Kazanwa. Walking distance to everything.
夜食に出るそばが最高においしかったです。
住宿體驗,
住宿體驗很棒,硬體設施與空間美感很優秀,夜間的宵夜也很美味,有機會會希望再度入住。
Brandnew room
Spacious room with balcony overlooking parking lot. Extra washbasin outside bathroom (in room) Arriving after dark,we had trouble finding the hotel entrance as it is hidden behind a screendoor
