WORST ACCOMMODATION EVER!!

I've travelled the world and stayed in accommodation that covers the full range of 'stars' and I can honestly say this was the worst I have ever seen! The accommodation we got wasn't even featured in the photos on this site. The apartment block itself also stank, was filthy and was clearly being used to house homeless people. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ACCOMMODATION.

Though this accommodation was convenient to everything it is in a desperate need of refurbishment. The lobby smelled of boiled cabbage. Also, the place is quite noisy from the street noise below. Double windows with decent curtains may help to reduce the noise level.

Good location very noisy at night Property could do with some tlc Shower door did not close so water everywhere. But very responsible for the cost, clean and tidy had everything we needed.

Very conveniently located - right on Cuba Street.

Excellent location for walking to all the shops, te Papa, waterfront and bus stops at front door. However a lot of homeless now frequent the area (not property fault but Wellington council etc) and they sleep on the streets below. A lot of fights & arguments so not the Wellington central we used to know… property did not have a balcony as we thought we’d booked that specifically. No good sleeping 5 as sofa bed is not good enough for an adult very uncomfortable & not enough suitable bedding to be warm. No extra bedding provided. Was very clean just getting too old really. And price reflects this I guess. Easy check in etc.

Great location ,parking not good

Very central location but the apartment itself was very shabby. The banister of the stairs was broken. The fridge was switched off when we got there so there was a drawer full of water in the freezer and the milk they left was unsafe. There was an empty hand soap dispenser in the bathroom. It is a noisy area at night and you could hear everything happening outside from the front bedroom. One of the tv remotes was missing. The couch was close to falling apart. I would say this apartment would be fine for people in the city to party but definitely not for a family.

The apartment itself was great - very spacious. It is just a shame that it does require some TLC

filthy dirty

Well it starts at the lift smelling of mould. Then the apartment is dirty, Like filthy dirty. The kitchen plug is hanging out the wall, mould in the bathroom, the duvet covers are stained, the windows that don't lock....etc etc Enjoy your stay if you book!!!

No lift for the top 2 floors which we didnt know until the day of arrival. There was no extra security lock or chain on the entrance door. The door frame to the outside deck was old and damaged.

We liked the location but the paintwork and finishing was poor.also quite noisy with nearby aircon and parties

It just felt dirty. None bar 2 of the lights were working and when I went to use the lamps on either side of the bed, after 1 minute the switch for them was incredibly hot. Not safe at all.

Property was not what was shown in the photos or advertised. Had to walk up multiple flights of stairs; room was very shabby; dog excrement and trash all around the entrance. We couldn’t stay there is was so disgusting.

Great location easy to access warm and tidy

I have never ever had the displeasure of staying in a more dirty, falling apart, noisy, malodorous apartment in my life. From mound in the kitchen bin, flies on the window sills, dirty shower and 2 small Kmart fans to cool a 30 degree day with no air conditioning on site! We could not dispose of rubbish as codes did not work. The lift smelt like urine and toilet spray. Booked 4 nights and only stayed one. These people would not answer the phone when I called and txt back that they were busy. I booked another hotel. They refused to refund any of our money at all. Took the shine off our holiday. So, so disappointed. This place needs us be taken off the internet for accommodation until it is clearly up to scratch. DO NOT BOOK.

Great location, however poorly cleaned, there were dirty marks on the bed quilt in appt 4, there was someone elses food in the freezer, the windows were extremely dirty and the heaters were inadequate. Shower leaked, some light bulbs were not working and the toilet flush did not work well.

Our family stayed here for almost a week while in Wellington and it was absolutely perfect!

Easy access, good communication with U Suites. Perfect location for our requirements. Some maintenance required - dryer in laundry not functioning correctly, poor tv signal & broken arm chair. Otherwise no problems and would stay again.

Perfect location and very spacious. Was inconvenient not being to leave our bags there, instead had to walk some distance to another hotel. Very friendly staff. Decor tired.

Rude staff at check in !!!! The noise at night is so extreme that none of us slept - very expensive for something so basic

The place was in a great location but expect a little noise at night. Plenty of room which was really good.

Good spacious apartment that worked well for our group of 3. Lovely old Art Deco building, loved the features though it could do with an upgrade. Good location and was ideal for our short stay for WOW.

Ask to not be given room 8! There's a foot round metal ducting/pipe running alongside the apartment right outside the bedroom window that made a terrible noise the whole night - nobody got any sleep. The sills in the kitchen were covered in mould. It was really nicely decorated, but the apartment itself is in need of maintenance - carpet is shot, lip from the carpet to tiles isn't good, skirting and finishing in bathroom is rough. The location is totally brilliant, it's just a shame we got no sleep.

I liked the high position, high ceilings and views but didnt like the stairs as the lift only goes half way up, so with your luggage and a flu its a bit of a workout

An excellent location very close to bars and restaurants. Our apartment was well set up and ensured we had a pleasant stay.

Very handy location, however very tired and apartment needed attention and seem quite deceiving via website/pictures for the price.

This property is Clearly way over rated and does not match photos and descriptions. I feel ripped off and will never stay here again and will make sure people I know stay away. Our family own over 300 apartments in Sydney and these are a disgrace and would never get on our books. And no air conditioning

A nice relaxed stay but aircon would be nice

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the U Suites on Manners. Great service and a nice comfy stay apart from there was no air con :(

Great location if you don't mind a bit of noise. Beds comfortable. Kitchen is tired but serviceable. New glassware required though - there were only 2 glasses in the pantry (and 4 of us).

Didn't stay long but we should have. It was a great. Its downtown so parking can be an issue.

Excellent central location. Bathroom on one floor bedrooms on another with steep staircase which may disadvantage some people. Clean and suitable for our needs.

Nice little apartment with No Parking

Had never been to Wellington City. No parking available with this suite. The host however gave us plenty of options to choose. We opted to park our car on the street below our suite as from 6pm - 8am it was free. (advised to read signs by Council cos some spaces do charge after hours). Everything is a walk away. The suite is nice and cozy for one night and central to everything. Views of other apartment buildings but that was OK. Kitchen had everything, opened fridge to 1 and 1/4 bottles of water. (supposed to be 2) Nice kitchen too. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was nice and tidy and the shower pressure was awesome. Very cozy suite.

This apartment was quiet, warm and spacious. It is in an excellent location and I would stay here again. I would recommend a full mirror in one of the bedrooms, and one of the beds in apt 5 needs either a new mattress or at least a topper as the springs are starting to be felt. However these a small things easily remedied - we were VERY happy with our stay, thank you.

Weekend in Wellington

Booked this apartment last minute, through last minute .com which was probably a mistake - the web site was not particularly helpful and the call centre I called was unable to help with any queries. The contact phone number they gave for contacting the apartment didn’t exist, and the information they provided about car parking was not correct. The apartment is in an excellent location almost on Cuba street and walking distance from all amenities. We had a great stay and the owner was extremely helpful. The weather was great and Wellington is extremely easy to navigate (not by car - many one way roads) which allowed us to visit all of the top ten rated visitor attractions. The museum on the water front is superb.
