We picked this Hotel specifically because of past Tru by Hilton experiences. Everything went well except our heat did not work in our room. Every 7-10 minutes throughout the night the heat would loudly come on but no heat was coming out. I was woken up repeatedly. I should have turned it off or gone up to the front desk to ask if there was another room. I just powered through. Would be nice if they offered me a credit on this stay?

A Shocking Experience—Literally

Let me start by saying I had high hopes for this new hotel. The photos looked modern, the reviews were glowing, and I thought, “Hey, why not give it a shot?” Big mistake. The first red flag? The bedding. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to sleep inside a crinkly polyester bag while being slow-roasted in your own body heat, look no further. The sheets—if you can call them that—felt like a hybrid between plastic wrap and a cheap Halloween costume. But the real fun started when I turned over. Zap! A jolt of static electricity strong enough to power a small village shot through me. I spent the night dodging lightning strikes in my own bed. By morning, we had earned a bonus prize—a full-body rash! That’s right. Then there was the room itself. Space-saving? Sure. But the furniture looked like it was designed by someone who had never actually used furniture before. If IKEA and a discount dollar store had a love child, this would be it. The bathroom was another sensory adventure. The provided toiletries smelled like a mix of burnt plastic and expired citrus. The biggest mystery? The 1,000 glowing reviews. Are people sleeping on a different planet? Or are they just immune to suffocation by polyester? Either way, I’m convinced these must be written by robots—or people who have never encountered a cotton sheet in their lives. Moral of the story: Don’t trust the hype. Call ahead and confirm the bedding situation, or risk waking up feeling like a microwaved marshmallow.

Front Desk - Excellent Service

I had a very long drive into Amarillo and it must have showed when I checked in. The front desk clerk was kind and asked if I would prefer a late checkout the next day (actually same day...I got in at 2am). It is the little things like this that make a big difference. Thanks!

We stayed here on our way back from a long vacation. I've stayed in Amarillo many times and was never very satisfied with my hotel...this place is newer and very nice. I would recommended it.

Overall, A Really Nice Hotel

Pros: Hotel is very clean, staff are friendly, nice exercise facility, location is safe and quiet with food and stores nearby. Was able to get a no pet allowed room that did not have carpeting, was spacious, had a mini fridge, and linens are new. Breakfast was good with pancakes, premade omelets, sausage, toast/bagels/donuts, yogurt, cereal, juice, tea, and coffee. Cons: There wasn’t a closet so storage space for bags is limited. There wasn’t a microwave (which I’m fine with but others might want this). Breakfast had oatmeal but it was more like soupmeal, very runny and a real bummer. Someone’s dog on our floor was barking incessantly at 2:30 am, another real bummer.

Overall a comfortable, clean and quiet place to stay with a great breakfast. Superb staff. A couple of notes about room. At 5'3" there is no way I can reach shower or adjust it, and when turned to full water pressure it shoots horizontally to other wall so not sure how a shower is supposed to happen for short people. Also no USB ports--seemed odd in such a modern hotel. Sink plugged but addressed by staff very quickly. Comfortable room temperature and easy to adjust. Lots of ammenities. Will stay again.

Pros and Cons

Pros - coffee in the lobby, breakfast was good ... actual bacon. Cons - threadbare sheets, visible dirt in the room, made a specific request when booking, received an email that they would accommodate but then found out the hotel never received the "communication" and then was gaslighted about availability (first he said there were no king beds on the first floor and when I said that's good because I actually wanted two queen beds he then said no, sorry we don't have any availability).

We had an excellent stay and highly recommend this hotel. We traveled with our dog and needed pet friendly accommodations. There were many dogs here, but we never heard a bark. The hotel appears to have a good plan in place for their pet owners that is not disruptive to the non-pet owners.

We were promptly greeted with a friendly front desk woman. Checkin was quick!

Fantastic hotel with all the extras you would want, in a much more condensed form.. The rooms don't feel small or cramped, rather they are to maximize space, so goodbye clunky dressers and desk that nobody ever uses, really nice bathroom layout, very spacious. I came into town about an hour early and needed a place to change, hotel staff was able to accommodate and early check-in for me, great staff, will be back for sure. Highly recommend!!!

This is the first time I’ve checked out one of these designer hotels by IHG. I have to say it was really nice for the money. Clean and fresh. Perhaps it hadn’t been build that long ago but I was really happy. The decor was funky and the staff were amazing. When you’re roadtripping across the US that’s all you want: clean, safe and predictable so you don’t have any nasty surprises when you arrive after 7 hours of driving. Well done IHG.

I understand the concept of this property. But for guests traveling cross country with multiple bags as we were the room was a nightmare. Luggage had to be opened on the floor. No coffee maker in room. Downstair’s coffee was cold. The breakfast was just sad. The best thing about this property was the prairie dog town in the vacant lot next door.

Great place to stay just off l-40

I had a medical appointment early in the morning, and by staying here, I was only 7 minutes away. Very nice to not have a stressful or long drive before the appointment. I felt my handicapped room was ideal for me. I have knee issues, so the walk in shower is what I prefer, along with hearing impaired. It appeared as though something had happened in the shower and repairs were attempted. It didn't bother me, but it did look rather "shabby" and someone else more handicapped than I am, who needs to use the shower bench, may feel unsure of the safety. Again, it didn't bother me at all, and I felt as though my room was very clean and very comfortable.

The property felt like it was cheaply constructed. Felt dirty even probably wasn’t that dirt.

It was different decor and amenities. I had to ask for water instead of it being in the room. The decor was modern. I did not see any USB charging stations. Luckily, I did bring some USB cords and plugs so I was covered.

This was an absolutely wonderful hotel. It had a great price, it was clean, comfortable, quiet, polite staff, good food… Everything that’s important to us. My favorite part was the price. They did not try to take advantage of us by pricing it more than it should be. We’ve been on a trip through many states and found that other hotels or hiking their prices up without the value. I would definitely stay here again and recommend everyone to enjoy this hotel.

We were shocked at not having a closet and instead hanger hooks on the wall. It was way too stripped down for an enjoyable stay. The property was difficult to find due to lack of signage by the street and insufficient lightening. First and last time there.

This was the cleanest hotel I've ever been in ..no weird smells or anything..my room was small but had everything set up nicely and user friendly.i would stay again...I didn't use any of the extras but noticed the gym and breakfast bar had a nice selection .

PAssing thru Amarillo on our way to Colorado. Once we located the access road, we were greeted with a modern, clean, accommodating facility. Finding the access road was different. And the modern facade is also new. But our stay was great.

I had heard about this eco-friendly hotel chain by Hilton, but it's the first time we stayed at one. The austere room is really very comfortable and seems like it must be easier to keep clean than a traditional room. Had all the comforts we needed for a one-night stay, except a microwave.

Bed was comfortable, however small shelves used in room in place of tables or desk made for Awkward use of space in room. When you add in the fact that there is no coffee in the rooms I will be inclined to stay at another hotel the next time I’m traveling thru Amarillo. Front office staff was very nice.
